0:00:02 > 0:00:05The weather is changing. There's some much-needed rain on the way.

0:00:05 > 0:00:07It's going to be a little warmer for a while but then some cooler

0:00:07 > 0:00:09weather in the outlook.

0:00:09 > 0:00:12We've got a mixture of sunshine and showers on Sunday,

0:00:12 > 0:00:15this rain clears away, it's heading up towards the

0:00:15 > 0:00:17northern isles of Scotland.

0:00:17 > 0:00:19Those showers following in on a south-westerly

0:00:19 > 0:00:22breeze and some of the showers could be a little heavy

0:00:22 > 0:00:26in the afternoon across Scotland and Northern Ireland.

0:00:26 > 0:00:29Temperatures here round about 15, 16 degrees.

0:00:29 > 0:00:31Bit warmer than that for England and Wales.

0:00:31 > 0:00:33Fairly well scattered showers.

0:00:33 > 0:00:35A lot of places will be dry but the showers could

0:00:35 > 0:00:38line up in bands. One such band from the southwest

0:00:38 > 0:00:40of England towards the home counties.

0:00:40 > 0:00:43Temperatures in the southeast could get as high as 19,

0:00:43 > 0:00:45perhaps 20. Very pleasant day in the sunshine.

0:00:45 > 0:00:49Those showers do fade away fairly quickly in the evening,

0:00:49 > 0:00:51that band of rain clears away from Shetland and then

0:00:51 > 0:00:54we see the wind picking up in the west, the cloud

0:00:54 > 0:00:56increasing and more rain on the way.

0:00:56 > 0:00:58This rain could be quite substantial.

0:00:58 > 0:01:00Eastern areas likely to be dry,

0:01:00 > 0:01:02a little chilly for a while.

0:01:02 > 0:01:05We look out into the Atlantic to see what's

0:01:05 > 0:01:07heading our way and this area of low pressure's

0:01:07 > 0:01:09coming from a long way south and it brings with it

0:01:09 > 0:01:11some quite warm air and the potential for

0:01:11 > 0:01:14some heavy rain, too. The winds will be picking up.

0:01:14 > 0:01:16We'll be looking at strong to gale-force winds

0:01:16 > 0:01:19around many western hills and coastal areas,

0:01:19 > 0:01:22and that rain will be heavier over western hills,

0:01:22 > 0:01:25probably not that much rain for East Anglia and

0:01:25 > 0:01:28the southeast of England and it should turn drier

0:01:28 > 0:01:30across much of Scotland and Northern Ireland.

0:01:30 > 0:01:33The temperatures, even with cloud and rain, 16 degrees,

0:01:33 > 0:01:3618 in the southeast.

0:01:36 > 0:01:39Rather messy weather picture for Monday and into Tuesday.

0:01:39 > 0:01:43We've got this weather front dangled somewhere across the UK,

0:01:43 > 0:01:45across some central areas.

0:01:45 > 0:01:48Either side of that, we've got sunshine and some showers

0:01:48 > 0:01:51towards the northwest, some cooler, fresher air towards the

0:01:51 > 0:01:54southeast, quite warm and humid.

0:01:54 > 0:01:56Temperatures may get higher than 21 in-between

0:01:56 > 0:01:59that weather front, initially quite weak on Tuesday.

0:01:59 > 0:02:01And there may not be a lot of rain.

0:02:01 > 0:02:04However, we've got a little bump on that weather front

0:02:04 > 0:02:07that will enhance the rainfall overnight and into

0:02:07 > 0:02:09Wednesday and the heaviest of the rain likely to be

0:02:09 > 0:02:11across England and Wales,

0:02:11 > 0:02:13perhaps eventually coming into the southeast of England

0:02:13 > 0:02:16where temperatures are going to be hitting 20 degrees.

0:02:16 > 0:02:19Northwest Scotland and Northern Ireland missing

0:02:19 > 0:02:22out on most of the rain, no more than a few showers.

0:02:22 > 0:02:24Then we've got these areas of low pressure essentially

0:02:24 > 0:02:27dumbelling around each other and we're going to find

0:02:27 > 0:02:30some rain pushing in across the southeast of England

0:02:30 > 0:02:33overnight, and during Thursday that band of rain eases away

0:02:33 > 0:02:35out into the North Sea.

0:02:35 > 0:02:37Things start to become a little bit drier,

0:02:37 > 0:02:39we're left with some sunshine and showers and

0:02:39 > 0:02:40temperatures a bit lower.

0:02:40 > 0:02:42All that warmer air we had in the southeast

0:02:42 > 0:02:44gets pushed into the near continent

0:02:44 > 0:02:46and instead cooler conditions come down,

0:02:46 > 0:02:49together with more of a north-westerly breeze.

0:02:49 > 0:02:56So, next weekend onwards, areas of low pressure near the UK tracking

0:02:56 > 0:02:59to the north and ending up out in northern parts of the North Sea.

0:02:59 > 0:03:02High pressure building in the west, northerly wind, and the

0:03:02 > 0:03:06possibility of some rain across eastern areas of the UK.

0:03:06 > 0:03:09Drier out to the west closer to that area of high pressure,

0:03:09 > 0:03:12so we'll see some sunshine around, generally dry conditions,

0:03:12 > 0:03:16whereas towards the north and the east of the UK there's a chance

0:03:16 > 0:03:19of some rain. Here's the summary - it is going to be turning cooler,

0:03:19 > 0:03:22brighter, drier in the west, some rain at times in the east,

0:03:22 > 0:03:24and that cooler weather enhanced by

0:03:24 > 0:03:26quite a brisk wind around as well.

0:03:26 > 0:03:28So some changes on the way.
