0:00:00 > 0:00:04Hello. Rain is in the forecast and we haven't heard that very often.

0:00:04 > 0:00:07This week, the weather is going to be dominated more by

0:00:07 > 0:00:10low pressure rather than high pressure.

0:00:10 > 0:00:13The rain was very hit and miss over the weekend.

0:00:13 > 0:00:15That band of cloud brought some rain for a while

0:00:15 > 0:00:17but otherwise it was sunshine and showers.

0:00:17 > 0:00:20But we look out into the Atlantic and already this cloud is arriving

0:00:20 > 0:00:23and that will bring with it this area of low pressure,

0:00:23 > 0:00:25some outbreaks of rain.

0:00:25 > 0:00:27It is coming from a long way south so it is drawing up some warm air

0:00:27 > 0:00:31and the potential for some heavy rain as well.

0:00:31 > 0:00:33So, as we head into Monday, we have got outbreaks of rain spilling

0:00:33 > 0:00:37across most of the UK, perhaps not very much rain in the south-east.

0:00:37 > 0:00:39The wettest weather is always going to be over the western hills.

0:00:39 > 0:00:42But through the afternoon, the rain tends to ease off a bit.

0:00:42 > 0:00:44Where you've got some shelter from the high ground,

0:00:44 > 0:00:45you could get them sunshine.

0:00:45 > 0:00:47For example, around the Moray Firth,

0:00:47 > 0:00:49perhaps in the north-east of England, perhaps into east Wales.

0:00:49 > 0:00:53Still some heavier rain over the hills of Wales and tracking its way

0:00:53 > 0:00:56through Lincolnshire. But not that much rain towards the south-east.

0:00:56 > 0:00:59Even though there is a lot of cloud around and rain never too far away,

0:00:59 > 0:01:01it is quite warm air,

0:01:01 > 0:01:05so temperatures 16, perhaps 17 degrees, quite widely.

0:01:05 > 0:01:08That first area of heavy rain moves away into the North Sea and

0:01:08 > 0:01:10then we could get another dose of heavy rain coming back through

0:01:10 > 0:01:15the Irish Sea into Wales, Scotland and across northern England as well.

0:01:15 > 0:01:18All the while, we've still got this south-westerly wind which will be

0:01:18 > 0:01:20strongest through the Irish Sea and a very mild night,

0:01:20 > 0:01:2214 or 15 degrees perhaps in some areas.

0:01:22 > 0:01:25So that is quite a change in the forecast.

0:01:25 > 0:01:28Areas of low pressure dominating on Tuesday.

0:01:28 > 0:01:32The main feature - that weather front which is just stranded really

0:01:32 > 0:01:35across the UK. Where it stops, it's difficult to know on Tuesday.

0:01:35 > 0:01:38At the moment it looks like more across Yorkshire, Lincolnshire,

0:01:38 > 0:01:39perhaps the Midlands, Wales

0:01:39 > 0:01:42and the south-west seeing some rain at times.

0:01:42 > 0:01:45It doesn't get too far away from the south-east by the end of the day.

0:01:45 > 0:01:48But here, we've got some warm and humid air

0:01:48 > 0:01:50so it could be as high as 23 or 24.

0:01:50 > 0:01:52Even behind that band of rain

0:01:52 > 0:01:53where we're seeing bands of heavy showers

0:01:53 > 0:01:55and blustery winds,

0:01:55 > 0:01:57it's not particularly cold at all.

0:01:57 > 0:01:59Things start to change again on Tuesday.

0:01:59 > 0:02:01That weather front is a little further

0:02:01 > 0:02:02towards the south-east of the UK

0:02:02 > 0:02:04and it threatens to bring some heavier rain

0:02:04 > 0:02:07to south-east England and East Anglia.

0:02:07 > 0:02:08This is probably going to be

0:02:08 > 0:02:09the wettest day of the week

0:02:09 > 0:02:10for this part of the UK.

0:02:10 > 0:02:12Away from here, some sunny spells.

0:02:12 > 0:02:14Blustery showers in the north-west,

0:02:14 > 0:02:16but temperatures will be a bit lower

0:02:16 > 0:02:18by a few degrees on Wednesday

0:02:18 > 0:02:19and that warm and muggy air

0:02:19 > 0:02:22is getting pushed away into central Europe instead.

0:02:22 > 0:02:25It's cooler air that's going to dominate our weather

0:02:25 > 0:02:26from Thursday onwards

0:02:26 > 0:02:29and that means sunshine and showers.

0:02:29 > 0:02:30The rain in the south-east

0:02:30 > 0:02:32out into the near continent,

0:02:32 > 0:02:34not much rain for eastern parts of the UK.

0:02:34 > 0:02:36More showers further west,

0:02:36 > 0:02:38but those temperatures round about the mid-teens

0:02:38 > 0:02:40at best on Thursday

0:02:40 > 0:02:42and then we've got the area of low pressure

0:02:42 > 0:02:45that starts to amble towards the UK

0:02:45 > 0:02:46by the end of the week.

0:02:46 > 0:02:48What that does,

0:02:48 > 0:02:50it just sort of intensifies the showers -

0:02:50 > 0:02:51showers or longer spells of rain,

0:02:51 > 0:02:52some quite gusty winds,

0:02:52 > 0:02:54especially in the south-west,

0:02:54 > 0:02:56and it will feel quite a bit cooler

0:02:56 > 0:02:58with temperatures about 13 degrees or so.

0:02:58 > 0:03:01Now, looking ahead into the weekend,

0:03:01 > 0:03:03we're going to find that low pressure

0:03:03 > 0:03:05still very close to the UK -

0:03:05 > 0:03:07that means more showers around.

0:03:07 > 0:03:09Now it's slowly pushing its way

0:03:09 > 0:03:10towards the near continent

0:03:10 > 0:03:12and there's higher pressure out to the west

0:03:12 > 0:03:14and beyond next weekend,

0:03:14 > 0:03:16we're going to find that high pressure

0:03:16 > 0:03:17slowly pushing into the UK,

0:03:17 > 0:03:19but it is a very slow process

0:03:19 > 0:03:21so western areas becoming drier

0:03:21 > 0:03:22with more sunshine,

0:03:22 > 0:03:24but still across the eastern side of the UK,

0:03:24 > 0:03:25there's a chance of showers

0:03:25 > 0:03:26or some longer spells of rain.

0:03:26 > 0:03:28At least, though, it won't be as windy.
