0:00:01 > 0:00:04Hello. The details look a little more uncertain, typically,

0:00:04 > 0:00:07as we head towards the holiday weekend and beyond.

0:00:07 > 0:00:09But there is a trend that we can follow.

0:00:09 > 0:00:12Before then, things are more clear-cut.

0:00:12 > 0:00:13Instead of low pressure,

0:00:13 > 0:00:15and lots of rain like we had last week,

0:00:15 > 0:00:18it is high pressure and little or no rain this week.

0:00:18 > 0:00:20The position of the high will be crucial.

0:00:20 > 0:00:22It will tend to drift away towards the east

0:00:22 > 0:00:24allowing us to draw in

0:00:24 > 0:00:28some really warm air and sunshine from the near continent

0:00:28 > 0:00:29later on in the week.

0:00:29 > 0:00:33But a bit of a change in the weather across the south-west of the UK

0:00:33 > 0:00:36perhaps towards the south coast and the south-east of England as well.

0:00:36 > 0:00:38More cloud around here on Tuesday.

0:00:38 > 0:00:39Temperatures not quite so high.

0:00:39 > 0:00:41A bit misty over the hills as well.

0:00:41 > 0:00:44Cloud coming and going elsewhere but a decent amount of sunshine,

0:00:44 > 0:00:46a warm day as well.

0:00:46 > 0:00:48But for one of two showers in the north-west,

0:00:48 > 0:00:50it should be fine and dry.

0:00:50 > 0:00:52As we head into the evening and overnight,

0:00:52 > 0:00:54some late sunshine to enjoy

0:00:54 > 0:00:57and then overnight we see more low cloud coming in on

0:00:57 > 0:00:58a gentle westerly breeze.

0:00:58 > 0:01:01Perhaps a little light rain or drizzle coming into the north

0:01:01 > 0:01:05and north-west of Scotland. But quite a warm night ahead.

0:01:05 > 0:01:07Temperatures staying in double figures,

0:01:07 > 0:01:09perhaps no lower than 14 or 15 degrees.

0:01:09 > 0:01:12Two things happening midweek.

0:01:12 > 0:01:14We've got a high-pressure moving in across the UK, but where it

0:01:14 > 0:01:17has come from means that it is dragging up some cloud as it

0:01:17 > 0:01:19approaches from the south-west.

0:01:19 > 0:01:23That cloud particularly affecting more western parts of the UK

0:01:23 > 0:01:25and still a little rain or drizzle in the north-west of Scotland.

0:01:25 > 0:01:28Otherwise it is dry and with the high-pressure continuing to

0:01:28 > 0:01:32build across the UK, that helps to break up the cloud as we head

0:01:32 > 0:01:33later on in the day on Wednesday.

0:01:33 > 0:01:35So some sunshine breaking through,

0:01:35 > 0:01:37but cloudy for a while.

0:01:37 > 0:01:40Warm once again in that sunshine.

0:01:40 > 0:01:41And on Thursday,

0:01:41 > 0:01:43the high-pressure still right over the UK,

0:01:43 > 0:01:46little or no wind around at all and that cloud continuing to

0:01:46 > 0:01:48break up and temperatures continuing to rise.

0:01:48 > 0:01:52So 25, 26 degrees in the south-east.

0:01:52 > 0:01:56So that is a trend that we're seeing towards the end of the week.

0:01:56 > 0:01:57High-pressure, no rain,

0:01:57 > 0:02:01more sunshine and those temperatures lifting once again.

0:02:01 > 0:02:04Very warm if not hot out there by the end of the week.

0:02:04 > 0:02:08There's the high-pressure there, it is drifting, the centre of it,

0:02:08 > 0:02:13towards the east of the UK allowing us to draw in a bit more breeze on

0:02:13 > 0:02:16Friday and drawing in more sunshine,

0:02:16 > 0:02:18drier area from the near continent.

0:02:18 > 0:02:21So sunnier skies across the UK,

0:02:21 > 0:02:23cloud breaking up in eastern areas and temperatures lifting.

0:02:23 > 0:02:2723 degrees possible in Glasgow on Friday.

0:02:27 > 0:02:30Then as we head into the start of the holiday weekend,

0:02:30 > 0:02:32there is the high-pressure,

0:02:32 > 0:02:36warm air coming up but a weather front is lurking there

0:02:36 > 0:02:38out towards the west

0:02:38 > 0:02:40and perhaps will signal a change in the days ahead.

0:02:40 > 0:02:43The warmth really pushing in from the near continent and

0:02:43 > 0:02:45those temperatures lifting ahead of that weather front.

0:02:45 > 0:02:5030 degrees is quite possible in the south-east, primarily I think,

0:02:50 > 0:02:51on Saturday.

0:02:51 > 0:02:55So we start the holiday weekend with those very high temperatures

0:02:55 > 0:02:57but out towards the west we have this weather front,

0:02:57 > 0:02:59a ragged band of cloud,

0:02:59 > 0:03:01showery bursts of rain

0:03:01 > 0:03:03and the odd rumble of thunder as well.

0:03:03 > 0:03:07Now, slowly that cloud and the rain, hit and miss,

0:03:07 > 0:03:10will stagger its way eastwards in the outlook next week.

0:03:10 > 0:03:13How quickly it moves its way eastwards is difficult to say.

0:03:13 > 0:03:16It should be gone by the time we get to the middle part of the week

0:03:16 > 0:03:18and behind that a change comes in.

0:03:18 > 0:03:22We start to see more of a west to south-westerly breeze,

0:03:22 > 0:03:25most places will be dry but it will be somewhat cooler and fresher,

0:03:25 > 0:03:28temperatures back down to 18 degrees,

0:03:28 > 0:03:31which is probably going to be a bit more comfortable for some of us.
