0:00:03 > 0:00:05Temperatures will continue to climb over the next few days,

0:00:05 > 0:00:08probably peaking in Scotland on Friday

0:00:08 > 0:00:10and across eastern England on Saturday.

0:00:10 > 0:00:13But we had 26 degrees on Wednesday

0:00:13 > 0:00:15and on Thursday, it's likely to be warmer as well.

0:00:15 > 0:00:16Just a little fair weather cloud,

0:00:16 > 0:00:18any foggy weather around the Irish Sea

0:00:18 > 0:00:20tending to lift. It will keep some cloud

0:00:20 > 0:00:22across the northern isles of Scotland,

0:00:22 > 0:00:23but, on the whole, blue skies,

0:00:23 > 0:00:25lots of sunshine around

0:00:25 > 0:00:27and temperatures will be higher as well

0:00:27 > 0:00:29so widely into the mid-20s

0:00:29 > 0:00:32and we could peak at 27 or 28 or so

0:00:32 > 0:00:33in the afternoon.

0:00:33 > 0:00:35And a fine end to the day, of course,

0:00:35 > 0:00:37with some late sunshine.

0:00:37 > 0:00:38Those temperatures won't fall

0:00:38 > 0:00:39a great deal overnight,

0:00:39 > 0:00:41despite the fact we've got clear skies.

0:00:41 > 0:00:42There probably won't be as much fog

0:00:42 > 0:00:44sitting through the Irish Sea

0:00:44 > 0:00:45and we'll lose some of that cloud

0:00:45 > 0:00:47in the far north of Scotland.

0:00:47 > 0:00:49Temperatures overnight perhaps no lower

0:00:49 > 0:00:52than 15 or 16 in some towns and cities.

0:00:52 > 0:00:54The high pressure is still across the UK

0:00:54 > 0:00:56as we head into Friday.

0:00:56 > 0:00:58The centre is a little further east.

0:00:58 > 0:01:00It's allowing us to draw up our winds

0:01:00 > 0:01:01from the near continent

0:01:01 > 0:01:03so there will be a fresher breeze,

0:01:03 > 0:01:04perhaps, on Friday,

0:01:04 > 0:01:05but we're drawing up some warm air

0:01:05 > 0:01:08and drier air so again lots of sunshine,

0:01:08 > 0:01:09another very warm

0:01:09 > 0:01:11and mostly sunny day as well

0:01:11 > 0:01:13and that warmth is getting pushed northwards

0:01:13 > 0:01:15further into Scotland

0:01:15 > 0:01:16so 29 degrees is possible

0:01:16 > 0:01:19around the Moray Firth on Friday,

0:01:19 > 0:01:22widely inland across the rest of the UK,

0:01:22 > 0:01:24mid- to perhaps high 20s.

0:01:24 > 0:01:26As we head into the bank holiday weekend,

0:01:26 > 0:01:28we've got this rather hot and humid start

0:01:28 > 0:01:32and then there's the chance of this thundery breakdown happening

0:01:32 > 0:01:35before eventually cooler, fresher conditions

0:01:35 > 0:01:37follow in from the west.

0:01:37 > 0:01:39So, we've got the winds coming in

0:01:39 > 0:01:40from the near continent.

0:01:40 > 0:01:42That's ahead of this weather system here,

0:01:42 > 0:01:44which is going to bring us this thundery breakdown

0:01:44 > 0:01:46and it may well bring some thundery downpours

0:01:46 > 0:01:48into England and Wales.

0:01:48 > 0:01:49The wettest weather, though,

0:01:49 > 0:01:51the more persistent heavier rain

0:01:51 > 0:01:53pushing northwards, perhaps,

0:01:53 > 0:01:54into Scotland and Northern Ireland.

0:01:54 > 0:01:55So, a change here,

0:01:55 > 0:01:57temperatures will be lower,

0:01:57 > 0:01:58but ahead of these showers

0:01:58 > 0:02:00across the south-east, eastern England,

0:02:00 > 0:02:02temperatures won't be far away from 30 degrees

0:02:02 > 0:02:04and then that weather front moves through.

0:02:04 > 0:02:06It takes away those heavier downpours

0:02:06 > 0:02:09and introduces some slightly fresher air,

0:02:09 > 0:02:12but that weather front never too far away

0:02:12 > 0:02:13from the English Channel,

0:02:13 > 0:02:15whilst most places will start dry

0:02:15 > 0:02:17with some sunshine,

0:02:17 > 0:02:19we could import some more showers,

0:02:19 > 0:02:22heavy thundery showers back up from the south

0:02:22 > 0:02:25into more southern and eastern parts of England,

0:02:25 > 0:02:26especially later on in the day,

0:02:26 > 0:02:29and the wettest weather will come later on Sunday,

0:02:29 > 0:02:31Sunday night, probably into the early hours

0:02:31 > 0:02:34of Monday morning across England and Wales

0:02:34 > 0:02:36on that weather front there

0:02:36 > 0:02:37so we could start off rather wet,

0:02:37 > 0:02:40especially for central and eastern England,

0:02:40 > 0:02:42before things tend to dry off slowly.

0:02:42 > 0:02:43Still one or two showers,

0:02:43 > 0:02:45but also some sunshine

0:02:45 > 0:02:47and it won't be quite as warm.

0:02:47 > 0:02:50Now, the problem is from Monday into Tuesday,

0:02:50 > 0:02:52we still have this potential

0:02:52 > 0:02:54for some warmer, more humid air

0:02:54 > 0:02:57bringing some showers up from the south.

0:02:57 > 0:02:58But then that should pull away

0:02:58 > 0:03:00and we're looking out to the west

0:03:00 > 0:03:01to see our weather coming in.

0:03:01 > 0:03:02Areas of low pressure

0:03:02 > 0:03:04approaching the north-west

0:03:04 > 0:03:06so more unsettled conditions here.

0:03:06 > 0:03:08The high pressure doesn't look quite so dominant now

0:03:08 > 0:03:11and it's mainly going to be affecting

0:03:11 > 0:03:12more southern parts of the UK

0:03:12 > 0:03:14so as you head further north and west,

0:03:14 > 0:03:16next week will turn more unsettled.

0:03:16 > 0:03:18There'll be some showers, longer spells of rain,

0:03:18 > 0:03:20quite windy, too.

0:03:20 > 0:03:21There still could be some showers

0:03:21 > 0:03:22more towards the south,

0:03:22 > 0:03:24but for the most part here,

0:03:24 > 0:03:26it should be somewhat drier

0:03:26 > 0:03:27and there'll be some sunshine,

0:03:27 > 0:03:28but it won't be quite as hot

0:03:28 > 0:03:30as the next few days.
