0:00:02 > 0:00:03Hello. Many places saw some heavy showers

0:00:03 > 0:00:05and severe thunderstorms on Saturday.

0:00:05 > 0:00:08Sunday, though, was a better picture across much of the UK.

0:00:08 > 0:00:10A little bit cooler and fresher but there

0:00:10 > 0:00:12was a good deal of sunshine around,

0:00:12 > 0:00:15hazy in places, but felt quite warm.

0:00:15 > 0:00:16Across the south, we started to see

0:00:16 > 0:00:19a change through the course of Sunday afternoon

0:00:19 > 0:00:21with thickening cloud,

0:00:21 > 0:00:24outbreaks of rain moving up from France, heavy in places.

0:00:24 > 0:00:26Through the course of Sunday night,

0:00:26 > 0:00:28that rain will continue to move

0:00:28 > 0:00:30north with the odd heavier burst on it.

0:00:30 > 0:00:33Potentially turning a bit heavier moving in towards

0:00:33 > 0:00:36the south-east and east Midlands later on in the night.

0:00:36 > 0:00:40Quite a murky but a mild, muggy night in the south

0:00:40 > 0:00:42but fairly cool and fresh across the northern half of Scotland

0:00:42 > 0:00:44where it will remain dry throughout the night.

0:00:44 > 0:00:45Bank Holiday Monday,

0:00:45 > 0:00:48this area of low pressure will be slowly moving its way northwards

0:00:48 > 0:00:50taking its weather fronts with it, so quite a damp,

0:00:50 > 0:00:53dreary day for many central and northern parts.

0:00:53 > 0:00:55Outbreaks of rain for Northern Ireland, Scotland

0:00:55 > 0:00:58in towards northern and eastern England.

0:00:58 > 0:00:59A lot of heavier, thundery bursts there.

0:00:59 > 0:01:02To the south, we could be looking at something

0:01:02 > 0:01:04a bit drier and brighter developing into the afternoon.

0:01:04 > 0:01:08Give it some sunshine with fairly humid air particularly across

0:01:08 > 0:01:10the south and the south-east that could spark off

0:01:10 > 0:01:12a heavy shower or thunderstorm,

0:01:12 > 0:01:16as those temperatures climb to 23, maybe 24 degrees.

0:01:16 > 0:01:19But it is going to be cooler across the north and the west

0:01:19 > 0:01:21under that cloud and rain.

0:01:21 > 0:01:24That area of low pressure slowly pushes off into the North Sea.

0:01:24 > 0:01:28Then we look to the west, to this next system which will bring

0:01:28 > 0:01:30another spell of rain,

0:01:30 > 0:01:32fairly strong winds as well during the course of Tuesday.

0:01:32 > 0:01:35Initially, though, Tuesday - central, southern and eastern parts

0:01:35 > 0:01:37will start dry with some sunny spells.

0:01:37 > 0:01:38Quite breezy, though.

0:01:38 > 0:01:41Then this band of rain will push in from the west

0:01:41 > 0:01:44eventually reaching the south-east later on in the day.

0:01:44 > 0:01:47That system moves away off into the North Sea.

0:01:47 > 0:01:51You can see quite a squeeze in the isobars so it could be quite windy

0:01:51 > 0:01:54for a while across the northern half of UK.

0:01:54 > 0:01:57To the south, this area of high pressure building in for Wednesday.

0:01:57 > 0:01:58So, from Wednesday onwards,

0:01:58 > 0:02:01it looks like we'll see quite a lot of settled weather

0:02:01 > 0:02:03thanks to this area of high pressure.

0:02:03 > 0:02:06Light winds, good spells of sunshine and quite warm in places too.

0:02:06 > 0:02:10High pressure again with us on into Thursday.

0:02:10 > 0:02:13This area of low pressure and its weather front

0:02:13 > 0:02:15will try to make inroads.

0:02:15 > 0:02:17Eventually, it will do on Friday,

0:02:17 > 0:02:18but for Thursday,

0:02:18 > 0:02:22a lot of places fine and dry with some sunshine.

0:02:22 > 0:02:25Turning cloudy and breezy though across Northern Ireland,

0:02:25 > 0:02:28into Western Scotland with outbreaks of rain arriving late in the day.

0:02:28 > 0:02:32Quite a warm, pleasant day across central, southern and eastern parts.

0:02:32 > 0:02:36On into Friday, that weather front continues to push eastwards

0:02:36 > 0:02:39eventually bringing a line of heavy rain

0:02:39 > 0:02:41to many western areas.

0:02:41 > 0:02:44Ahead of it though, it will actually be a fine day for many

0:02:44 > 0:02:47with some really warm sunshine and feeling fairly humid too.

0:02:47 > 0:02:51I think if this rain arrives, there is the risk of showers

0:02:51 > 0:02:54or thunder storms ahead of it.

0:02:54 > 0:02:56We think as we head on in towards next weekend that

0:02:56 > 0:02:58that area of low pressure

0:02:58 > 0:03:01will clear away and we're looking again to the south and south-east.

0:03:01 > 0:03:03The high pressure building and what that will do,

0:03:03 > 0:03:06if it settles across the near continent, it means southern

0:03:06 > 0:03:09and eastern parts of the country will remain fine and settled.

0:03:09 > 0:03:13The low pressure systems moving in off the Atlantic to affect

0:03:13 > 0:03:15more northern and western areas.

0:03:15 > 0:03:18That means for northern and western parts it will be more unsettled

0:03:18 > 0:03:22into next weekend with outbreaks of rain, maybe strong winds at times.

0:03:22 > 0:03:24The further south and east you are,

0:03:24 > 0:03:26the better chance of seeing the sunshine,

0:03:26 > 0:03:28closer to that area of high pressure

0:03:28 > 0:03:30where it will also be warm at times.
