0:00:03 > 0:00:04Well, the weather really did turn on Monday.

0:00:04 > 0:00:06The clouds rolled in off the Atlantic,

0:00:06 > 0:00:08and we had that wind and the heavy rain.

0:00:08 > 0:00:10It's currently sweeping across the UK.

0:00:10 > 0:00:11But, earlier on,

0:00:11 > 0:00:13we actually had some fairly decent weather as well,

0:00:13 > 0:00:15not necessarily clear blue skies,

0:00:15 > 0:00:17but dry weather across some southern

0:00:17 > 0:00:19and eastern areas of the country.

0:00:19 > 0:00:21Here's one from London earlier on.

0:00:21 > 0:00:23We got a little at the sunshine, but it's clouded over since,

0:00:23 > 0:00:25and now we've got some rain around too.

0:00:25 > 0:00:27And the winds will be increasing.

0:00:27 > 0:00:29They could even become a bit of a problem

0:00:29 > 0:00:31as we go through the course of Tuesday,

0:00:31 > 0:00:33up to gale force, and not just around the coasts -

0:00:33 > 0:00:35really blustery inland as well.

0:00:35 > 0:00:38This is the weather system that's crossing the country right now.

0:00:38 > 0:00:40Then there'll be a break in the next 24 to 48 hours,

0:00:40 > 0:00:43and then another one come Thursday.

0:00:43 > 0:00:46So Tuesday, the low pressure is right over us,

0:00:46 > 0:00:47there's a lot of isobars there,

0:00:47 > 0:00:50so that means the winds will be very strong indeed.

0:00:50 > 0:00:51Now, through the course of the night,

0:00:51 > 0:00:53the winds will rattle our windows

0:00:53 > 0:00:55across some of these western and southern areas,

0:00:55 > 0:00:57the heavier rain will probably transfer

0:00:57 > 0:00:59into northern parts of the country,

0:00:59 > 0:01:01certainly south-western, central, eastern Scotland -

0:01:01 > 0:01:03this is where most of the rain will fall.

0:01:03 > 0:01:06Further south, at least by Tuesday morning,

0:01:06 > 0:01:08the rain's going to be a little bit more patchy,

0:01:08 > 0:01:09a little hit and miss.

0:01:09 > 0:01:12So we're not necessarily expecting a deluge further south

0:01:12 > 0:01:13but it will be blustery.

0:01:13 > 0:01:15And those winds, during the course of lunchtime,

0:01:15 > 0:01:17will be very strong indeed,

0:01:17 > 0:01:19possibly gusting up to 40mph, 50mph,

0:01:19 > 0:01:21maybe even inland.

0:01:21 > 0:01:24Lots of showers around too, but sunny spells as well.

0:01:24 > 0:01:26The cloudier, more dreary weather,

0:01:26 > 0:01:28with more continuous rain, will be across

0:01:28 > 0:01:31these north-eastern and northern areas of the country.

0:01:31 > 0:01:33So here it really will feel quite chilly.

0:01:33 > 0:01:35Temperatures of only 13 degrees,

0:01:35 > 0:01:37and some strong winds on top of that as well.

0:01:37 > 0:01:41And that low pressure just keeps rolling through, only slowly,

0:01:41 > 0:01:43through the course of Tuesday night into Wednesday.

0:01:43 > 0:01:45By the time it's Wednesday,

0:01:45 > 0:01:48the low is sitting in the middle of the North Sea.

0:01:48 > 0:01:50Still, we're being brushed by it,

0:01:50 > 0:01:52so that means that eastern Scotland,

0:01:52 > 0:01:54possibly some of these eastern coasts here

0:01:54 > 0:01:55are getting brushed by the wind and the rain.

0:01:55 > 0:01:58But, for many of us, there's just a window of opportunity

0:01:58 > 0:01:59for some sunshine there -

0:01:59 > 0:02:01London, Birmingham, Manchester, into Glasgow.

0:02:01 > 0:02:03But then the next weather system,

0:02:03 > 0:02:05you can see, hot on its heels, pushing in.

0:02:05 > 0:02:09So Thursday, whilst one low moves out into Scandinavia,

0:02:09 > 0:02:11another one comes in.

0:02:11 > 0:02:14So, yet again, it looks as though we're going to have

0:02:14 > 0:02:15some cloud, rain and increasing winds.

0:02:15 > 0:02:19Now, it looks as though the heavier rain on Thursday

0:02:19 > 0:02:20will be sweeping across western

0:02:20 > 0:02:23and into north-western areas of the UK.

0:02:23 > 0:02:25Further south-east, with these southerly winds,

0:02:25 > 0:02:27if the clouds do break here,

0:02:27 > 0:02:30it could get up to around about 20 degrees or so.

0:02:30 > 0:02:34And then, on Friday, again, a window of good weather develops.

0:02:34 > 0:02:36Again, we're in between weather systems.

0:02:36 > 0:02:39So Friday, actually, for many of us, isn't looking too bad at all,

0:02:39 > 0:02:42but it only will be a one-day wonder.

0:02:42 > 0:02:44Because, by the time we get to Saturday,

0:02:44 > 0:02:47yet another area of low pressure...

0:02:47 > 0:02:48I've lost count of how many lows

0:02:48 > 0:02:50are going to be crossing the country.

0:02:50 > 0:02:51So, next weekend,

0:02:51 > 0:02:53low pressure once again approaching our shores.

0:02:53 > 0:02:54But look at that.

0:02:54 > 0:02:56These are generally south to south-westerly winds,

0:02:56 > 0:02:58so it never really is going to be that cold.

0:02:58 > 0:03:00There will be some rain crossing the country

0:03:00 > 0:03:01during the weekend,

0:03:01 > 0:03:03but at least the temperatures may be fairly decent.

0:03:03 > 0:03:05And then the trend into next week.

0:03:05 > 0:03:07Well, the low pressure pulls away,

0:03:07 > 0:03:09might be cool across northern areas,

0:03:09 > 0:03:11but the trend is that the weather will start to dry up.

0:03:11 > 0:03:14Now, these arrows don't necessarily mean it's going to get warm,

0:03:14 > 0:03:17It merely indicates that we'll have high pressure

0:03:17 > 0:03:19building across the UK,

0:03:19 > 0:03:22and that will mean drier and slightly warmer weather.

0:03:22 > 0:03:25But, at this stage, I don't think there's any heat wave on offer.

0:03:25 > 0:03:27That's it from me. Thanks for watching.
