0:00:02 > 0:00:04We know we Brits love to talk about the weather.

0:00:04 > 0:00:05Two types in particular.

0:00:05 > 0:00:07One is snow and the other is summer heat.

0:00:07 > 0:00:10There isn't any snow in this forecast. That would get us talking.

0:00:10 > 0:00:12But there is summer heat.

0:00:12 > 0:00:15It is coming back around this area of low pressure,

0:00:15 > 0:00:16stuck close to northern Spain.

0:00:16 > 0:00:19We are dragging the flow of air around that.

0:00:19 > 0:00:21Some much warmer, more humid air up across the UK

0:00:21 > 0:00:23over the next couple of days.

0:00:23 > 0:00:25And whilst all parts will be warming up,

0:00:25 > 0:00:28it's England and Wales that will see the highest temperatures,

0:00:28 > 0:00:29mid to upper 20s.

0:00:29 > 0:00:31And particularly southern England bearing the brunt,

0:00:31 > 0:00:33because not everybody likes it,

0:00:33 > 0:00:35with temperatures at around 30 Celsius

0:00:35 > 0:00:37and some very warm and muggy nights to come.

0:00:37 > 0:00:40Now, that process is underway, then, during Wednesday,

0:00:40 > 0:00:44helped by more sunshine across southern England and South Wales.

0:00:44 > 0:00:46Sunny spells, too, in northern Scotland.

0:00:46 > 0:00:47Abbeymore could see 20 Celsius.

0:00:47 > 0:00:50But south-east Scotland to north-east England

0:00:50 > 0:00:51staying rather cloudy,

0:00:51 > 0:00:54still perhaps a little bit of light rain or drizzle

0:00:54 > 0:00:56and temperatures just at around 15 Celsius.

0:00:56 > 0:00:59So there are big temperature contrasts around during Wednesday.

0:00:59 > 0:01:01Where you have the heat on Wednesday,

0:01:01 > 0:01:04it will be a very warm and muggy night on Wednesday night.

0:01:04 > 0:01:06And this weather disturbance, this area of low pressure,

0:01:06 > 0:01:09pushes northwards into the UK during Thursday.

0:01:09 > 0:01:11So the heat and humidity is still here.

0:01:11 > 0:01:13Some early rain in Scotland clearing away.

0:01:13 > 0:01:14But it's parts of Wales,

0:01:14 > 0:01:16especially east Wales and into England that,

0:01:16 > 0:01:18along with that heat and humidity,

0:01:18 > 0:01:21could see some torrential thunderstorms breaking out.

0:01:21 > 0:01:22As ever, very hit and miss.

0:01:22 > 0:01:24By no means everybody will catch one.

0:01:24 > 0:01:27If you do, you could well know about it. There could be some disruption.

0:01:27 > 0:01:30But into the 20s in Scotland, compared with Wednesday.

0:01:30 > 0:01:34But again, the hotspots in southern England near 30 Celsius.

0:01:34 > 0:01:37That weather disturbance moving away during Friday,

0:01:37 > 0:01:39but still with a lot of heat left behind that

0:01:39 > 0:01:42and particularly in south-east England,

0:01:42 > 0:01:43again at around 30 Celsius.

0:01:43 > 0:01:46A chance it might be even a little bit higher than that.

0:01:46 > 0:01:48It is cooler the further north you are,

0:01:48 > 0:01:50but still feeling quite warm and muggy.

0:01:50 > 0:01:53But then there is a weather system coming in

0:01:53 > 0:01:54at the start of the weekend.

0:01:54 > 0:01:57This area of low pressure driving this cold front southwards

0:01:57 > 0:01:59and that's a game-changer for the weekend,

0:01:59 > 0:02:02as it turns cooler and fresher from the north-west.

0:02:02 > 0:02:03Now, along that weather front,

0:02:03 > 0:02:05by the time it reaches into England and Wales,

0:02:05 > 0:02:06probably just a few showers.

0:02:06 > 0:02:09And on Saturday, not reaching East Anglia and south-east England yet,

0:02:09 > 0:02:11so still warmth and humidity.

0:02:11 > 0:02:14Where as elsewhere, temperatures down into the teens.

0:02:14 > 0:02:17And on Sunday, that weather front has now moved through,

0:02:17 > 0:02:19so we're all cooler and fresher.

0:02:19 > 0:02:21Another one is coming in towards the north-west.

0:02:21 > 0:02:23Some uncertainty about timing on this one.

0:02:23 > 0:02:26But again, parts of Scotland, Northern Ireland, northern England

0:02:26 > 0:02:29at risk of seeing some outbreaks of rain and quite breezy conditions.

0:02:29 > 0:02:32It looks mainly dry for the rest of the UK towards the south-east.

0:02:32 > 0:02:34But notice those temperatures have come down.

0:02:34 > 0:02:38And that takes us on to next week, which is looking fairly changeable.

0:02:38 > 0:02:40At times, a little bulge from the Azores high

0:02:40 > 0:02:42will try and come in and settle things down.

0:02:42 > 0:02:44But in other days, there'll be low pressure

0:02:44 > 0:02:47brushing the north-west of the UK, pushing weather fronts southwards,

0:02:47 > 0:02:50taking some outbreaks of rain and picking up the wind.

0:02:50 > 0:02:53As the low pressure pulls away, the Azores high builds back in again

0:02:53 > 0:02:54to settle things down,

0:02:54 > 0:02:57more noticeably across southern parts of the UK.

0:02:57 > 0:02:59So it is up and down next week.

0:02:59 > 0:03:01The sort of weather you get

0:03:01 > 0:03:03depends on how close you are to the weather systems.

0:03:03 > 0:03:05The closer to that low pressure

0:03:05 > 0:03:07towards the north and north-west of the UK,

0:03:07 > 0:03:09parts of Scotland, Northern Ireland and northern England,

0:03:09 > 0:03:11will see the wetter, windier conditions at times.

0:03:11 > 0:03:14Although weather fronts will push right the way across the UK,

0:03:14 > 0:03:16it will be drier and warmer towards the south-east,

0:03:16 > 0:03:18compared with the rest of the UK,

0:03:18 > 0:03:21though not as hot as it will be over the next two days.

0:03:21 > 0:03:23In fact, next week is looking really quite climatological,

0:03:23 > 0:03:25quite average.

0:03:25 > 0:03:27And average weather doesn't happen very often in the UK.

0:03:27 > 0:03:29That's another talking point.
