0:00:03 > 0:00:05Well, there's quite a lot to talk about

0:00:05 > 0:00:08in the weather for the week ahead, so you'll just have to stay focused.

0:00:08 > 0:00:11We're going to start further afield, in Spain,

0:00:11 > 0:00:13and, on Thursday in Spain,

0:00:13 > 0:00:16the temperature in Cordoba, in the south,

0:00:16 > 0:00:17close to Seville,

0:00:17 > 0:00:20got up to 47 degrees Celsius -

0:00:20 > 0:00:22one of the highest temperatures

0:00:22 > 0:00:23ever recorded in Spain.

0:00:23 > 0:00:25The reason why I'm mentioning this to you

0:00:25 > 0:00:28is because sometime early to middle of next week,

0:00:28 > 0:00:30some of that hot air will be heading our way.

0:00:30 > 0:00:32Now, we're not forecasting 47 degrees,

0:00:32 > 0:00:34but it will be warming up.

0:00:34 > 0:00:36Will have a look at the details on that

0:00:36 > 0:00:37in just a moment.

0:00:37 > 0:00:39In the short term,

0:00:39 > 0:00:42on Friday we're between two weather systems.

0:00:42 > 0:00:44So, one here early in the morning,

0:00:44 > 0:00:45and another one

0:00:45 > 0:00:47approaching north-western parts of the country.

0:00:47 > 0:00:49So, this is at lunchtime and in the afternoon.

0:00:49 > 0:00:52This means that for many parts of England and Wales,

0:00:52 > 0:00:54it's going to be a fine day on Friday,

0:00:54 > 0:00:56whereas, in the north-west,

0:00:56 > 0:00:58with this next approaching weather system,

0:00:58 > 0:00:59the weather will turn,

0:00:59 > 0:01:01and we are expecting some cloud and some rain.

0:01:01 > 0:01:03So, that's Friday afternoon.

0:01:03 > 0:01:04Here's Friday evening.

0:01:04 > 0:01:06That weather system continues to push

0:01:06 > 0:01:08through Northern Ireland and Scotland,

0:01:08 > 0:01:09possibly the Lake District, as well.

0:01:09 > 0:01:12To the south of that, Friday night, it stays dry -

0:01:12 > 0:01:14and then, through Saturday,

0:01:14 > 0:01:16we've got this trail of a weather front

0:01:16 > 0:01:18stretching out there in the Atlantic,

0:01:18 > 0:01:20moving across northern areas of the UK.

0:01:20 > 0:01:23The south is just about under the influence

0:01:23 > 0:01:24of high pressure.

0:01:24 > 0:01:26So, this means that, with weather systems

0:01:26 > 0:01:28to the north and high pressure to the south,

0:01:28 > 0:01:30the winds are south-westerly,

0:01:30 > 0:01:32but they're also dragging in a lot of cloud,

0:01:32 > 0:01:34extensive cloud, and some outbreaks of rain.

0:01:34 > 0:01:36So, a humid feel, a cloudy day,

0:01:36 > 0:01:39with some spots of rain on Saturday.

0:01:39 > 0:01:42Come Sunday, we'll still see a fair bit of cloud,

0:01:42 > 0:01:44but we'll start to see fresher air coming in

0:01:44 > 0:01:46to northern parts of the UK -

0:01:46 > 0:01:47but very warm, there, you can see,

0:01:47 > 0:01:48across the south-east.

0:01:48 > 0:01:51So, what does that mean for Wimbledon, Saturday and Sunday?

0:01:51 > 0:01:54So, for the first final, slightly lower temperatures,

0:01:54 > 0:01:55but humid and cloudy,

0:01:55 > 0:01:58and then slightly higher temperatures on Sunday,

0:01:58 > 0:02:01possibly getting up to around 25 or 26 degrees Celsius.

0:02:01 > 0:02:03Not ideal playing conditions,

0:02:03 > 0:02:04because it will be very humid.

0:02:04 > 0:02:07Now, let's change gear. Here's Monday.

0:02:07 > 0:02:09We've got high pressure across the UK,

0:02:09 > 0:02:12so, that generally means lots of settled weather,

0:02:12 > 0:02:13lots of sunshine.

0:02:13 > 0:02:15Still quite warm and humid, I think,

0:02:15 > 0:02:16across the far south.

0:02:16 > 0:02:18Maybe temperatures around the mid-20s -

0:02:18 > 0:02:20and then things get a little interesting.

0:02:20 > 0:02:22Here's Tuesday's weather forecast.

0:02:22 > 0:02:24A lot of talk about here.

0:02:24 > 0:02:26So, we've got hot air coming out of Spain -

0:02:26 > 0:02:28remember that heat I mentioned -

0:02:28 > 0:02:29Moving into France,

0:02:29 > 0:02:31and it's sucked in by this area of low pressure,

0:02:31 > 0:02:33and some thunderstorms just looming

0:02:33 > 0:02:36to the south of the UK on Tuesday.

0:02:36 > 0:02:38Come Wednesday, that low pressure

0:02:38 > 0:02:39will probably nudge a little bit

0:02:39 > 0:02:41further northwards,

0:02:41 > 0:02:43and, between the high and the low,

0:02:43 > 0:02:44with the winds blowing like so,

0:02:44 > 0:02:45it opens up this channel

0:02:45 > 0:02:48for some of that heat to ride around the low,

0:02:48 > 0:02:50and also bring some thunderstorms.

0:02:50 > 0:02:53So, potentially turning hot and humid

0:02:53 > 0:02:54midweek next week.

0:02:54 > 0:02:56So, that means temperatures

0:02:56 > 0:02:57might hit 30 degrees -

0:02:57 > 0:02:59again, we could have some thunderstorms -

0:02:59 > 0:03:01you may miss the storms altogether.

0:03:01 > 0:03:03That's mostly across southern and eastern

0:03:03 > 0:03:04areas of the UK.

0:03:04 > 0:03:06The further north and north-west you are,

0:03:06 > 0:03:08so, Scotland and Northern Ireland,

0:03:08 > 0:03:10it'll be fresher during the day

0:03:10 > 0:03:12and the nights may actually be quite chilly,

0:03:12 > 0:03:13could even be lower than 10 degrees,

0:03:13 > 0:03:15so, quite big contrasts

0:03:15 > 0:03:17sometime midweek next week.

0:03:17 > 0:03:18So, here's the summary -

0:03:18 > 0:03:20an unsettled weekend with some rain,

0:03:20 > 0:03:22with the driest of the weather

0:03:22 > 0:03:23in the far south,

0:03:23 > 0:03:25and dry, we think, for Wimbledon, as well,

0:03:25 > 0:03:27and then, possibly, thunderstorms,

0:03:27 > 0:03:29with that heat returning next week.

0:03:29 > 0:03:30Hope you got all that.
