0:00:02 > 0:00:05The weekend's upon us - Wimbledon finals too.

0:00:05 > 0:00:08The weather is looking a little mixed.

0:00:08 > 0:00:11There's some rain in the forecast. Let's snap to it.

0:00:11 > 0:00:12This is the satellite picture

0:00:12 > 0:00:15showing quite an extensive area of cloud

0:00:15 > 0:00:17out there in the north Atlantic

0:00:17 > 0:00:18and it's making a beeline for us,

0:00:18 > 0:00:22so many parts of the country are in for an overcast Saturday

0:00:22 > 0:00:26with some outbreaks of rain. So Friday night into Saturday,

0:00:26 > 0:00:28all of that cloud rolls off the Atlantic.

0:00:28 > 0:00:31We've already had heavy rain in Northern Ireland

0:00:31 > 0:00:34and parts of Scotland and there's more to come during Saturday.

0:00:34 > 0:00:37Even far away from these weather fronts further south

0:00:37 > 0:00:40there'll be extensive cloud, hill fog, mist, and drizzle in places.

0:00:40 > 0:00:43Basically the further west and north you are,

0:00:43 > 0:00:45the more likely you are to catch a bit of rain.

0:00:45 > 0:00:48There will be some brightness around the Midlands, maybe the south-east,

0:00:48 > 0:00:52especially on Saturday afternoon, but a warm and muggy day.

0:00:52 > 0:00:56Temperatures possibly up to around 23 or 24 degrees

0:00:56 > 0:00:57despite all of that cloud.

0:00:57 > 0:01:00And not much change on Saturday evening -

0:01:00 > 0:01:03still a lot of cloud, still feeling humid,

0:01:03 > 0:01:06and it should be quite a warm evening and night.

0:01:06 > 0:01:08On Sunday, we still have a weather front.

0:01:08 > 0:01:11This time it's across southern areas of the UK,

0:01:11 > 0:01:13so that means this is where we'll probably see most of the cloud,

0:01:13 > 0:01:16but around this high pressure here,

0:01:16 > 0:01:18the winds will freshen up, come off the Atlantic,

0:01:18 > 0:01:21and bring brighter weather to Scotland, Northern Ireland,

0:01:21 > 0:01:24and also Northern England, whereas the southern counties here,

0:01:24 > 0:01:27probably from around about the Midland southwards,

0:01:27 > 0:01:29still pretty overcast and warm.

0:01:29 > 0:01:31What does that mean for the Wimbledon finals?

0:01:31 > 0:01:33It means a lot of cloud around.

0:01:33 > 0:01:36It's not going to be desperately hot as far as the temperature goes,

0:01:36 > 0:01:40on the thermometer, but it will feel warm and humid.

0:01:40 > 0:01:43It's that humidity that won't be particularly pleasant.

0:01:43 > 0:01:46As we head into Monday we say goodbye to that muggy weather,

0:01:46 > 0:01:48I think things will freshen up, dry out as well,

0:01:48 > 0:01:52so quite a nice day for most of us on Monday,

0:01:52 > 0:01:54and then things get interesting Tuesday into Wednesday.

0:01:54 > 0:01:57If you were watching yesterday we were talking about the possibility

0:01:57 > 0:02:00of hot air being drawn in from Spain and France by

0:02:00 > 0:02:04this area of low pressure, and some thunderstorms with that as well,

0:02:04 > 0:02:06so hot and humid weather returning again,

0:02:06 > 0:02:09so almost resurging from the south.

0:02:09 > 0:02:11This is Tuesday's weather forecast and at this stage,

0:02:11 > 0:02:14it looks like many areas will have a fine day,

0:02:14 > 0:02:16potentially hot in the south,

0:02:16 > 0:02:18and you can see the extent of these storms.

0:02:18 > 0:02:21And then as we go through the course of Tuesday into Wednesday,

0:02:21 > 0:02:24and it's still quite far off and difficult to predict

0:02:24 > 0:02:27storms like this this far in advance,

0:02:27 > 0:02:29I mean, it could be plus or minus a day - the point is,

0:02:29 > 0:02:32Tuesday into Wednesday, that warmth gets drawn up

0:02:32 > 0:02:35from the south and there could be storms almost anywhere.

0:02:35 > 0:02:38Also very difficult to predict how warm it's going to get.

0:02:38 > 0:02:41if we have extensive cloud through the middle part of the week

0:02:41 > 0:02:43and quite a few storms,

0:02:43 > 0:02:46temperatures might only be 23, 24, 25 degrees.

0:02:46 > 0:02:49If we have fewer storms and more sunshine,

0:02:49 > 0:02:51there's a potential for temperatures

0:02:51 > 0:02:54to shoot up even in excess of 30 degrees Celsius.

0:02:54 > 0:02:56Whichever way you look at it,

0:02:56 > 0:02:57whether the temperature's low or high,

0:02:57 > 0:03:01it is still going to be humid and that threat of storms exists.

0:03:01 > 0:03:05Then after those storms, so Thursday and Friday next week,

0:03:05 > 0:03:09that low pressure pulls away, taking its bad weather with it,

0:03:09 > 0:03:12away from the UK, and then the following weekend,

0:03:12 > 0:03:14high pressure is set to build,

0:03:14 > 0:03:17so things are going to dry out and freshen up.

0:03:17 > 0:03:19So here's the summary for next week.

0:03:19 > 0:03:23It is going to turn much warmer, potentially hot in the south,

0:03:23 > 0:03:26with a chance of some storms, and then later next week,

0:03:26 > 0:03:28it will settle down.

0:03:28 > 0:03:30That's it from me - thanks for watching.

0:03:32 > 0:03:36You've been weird ever since we came down here. There's something.
