0:00:03 > 0:00:06Hello - so far, not so good for the weekend weather,

0:00:06 > 0:00:08although some of us brightened up on Saturday afternoon.

0:00:08 > 0:00:1024 Celsius at Hereford,

0:00:10 > 0:00:12as the sun made an appearance.

0:00:12 > 0:00:13Most of us stayed cloudy,

0:00:13 > 0:00:15and of course, there was some

0:00:15 > 0:00:16wet weather around.

0:00:16 > 0:00:18Eased for some, but in Highland Scotland,

0:00:18 > 0:00:20it continued for much of the day.

0:00:20 > 0:00:22Now, the picture for Sunday

0:00:22 > 0:00:23is a little bit clearer,

0:00:23 > 0:00:25because we've just got one weather front,

0:00:25 > 0:00:26this one, working its way

0:00:26 > 0:00:28southwards across the UK.

0:00:28 > 0:00:29To the north of that, it's going to be

0:00:29 > 0:00:31a sunnier picture for Scotland,

0:00:31 > 0:00:33for Northern Ireland, eventually northern England -

0:00:33 > 0:00:35still a few showers, though,

0:00:35 > 0:00:37in northern Scotland, merging to give

0:00:37 > 0:00:38a spell of rain later in the day,

0:00:38 > 0:00:39quite windy, here.

0:00:39 > 0:00:41With our weather front working south

0:00:41 > 0:00:43across the rest of England and Wales,

0:00:43 > 0:00:44cloudier skies, a few spots

0:00:44 > 0:00:45of light rain and drizzle,

0:00:45 > 0:00:47and maybe a few late day showers from that.

0:00:47 > 0:00:49Ahead of that, though, far south

0:00:49 > 0:00:51and south-east seeing some sunny spells,

0:00:51 > 0:00:52and into Kent and Sussex,

0:00:52 > 0:00:54temperatures might reach into the upper 20s

0:00:54 > 0:00:56and still quite humid.

0:00:56 > 0:00:58Now, at Wimbledon, what does that mean?

0:00:58 > 0:01:00I think there will be a few brighter breaks coming through.

0:01:00 > 0:01:02There's cloud, it'll be a warm day,

0:01:02 > 0:01:05and there is a chance for a late day shower.

0:01:05 > 0:01:07Now, at Silverstone, for the Grand Prix,

0:01:07 > 0:01:09well, final practice and qualifying on Saturday

0:01:09 > 0:01:10was interesting cos of the wet weather,

0:01:10 > 0:01:13and as that weather front works through Silverstone on Sunday,

0:01:13 > 0:01:16there could be a bit of light rain around for the race,

0:01:16 > 0:01:18so that could make things interesting.

0:01:18 > 0:01:20The weather front continues to edge southwards

0:01:20 > 0:01:21during Sunday evening.

0:01:21 > 0:01:23Could be a few sharp showers with that

0:01:23 > 0:01:24into parts of East Anglia

0:01:24 > 0:01:26and again parts of south-east England

0:01:26 > 0:01:27to end the day.

0:01:27 > 0:01:29The weather front clipping northern Scotland

0:01:29 > 0:01:30with some rain moves away, then for Monday,

0:01:30 > 0:01:32it is high pressure building in.

0:01:32 > 0:01:34Still quite breezy for a time in Scotland,

0:01:34 > 0:01:36but for many of us, it'll be light winds

0:01:36 > 0:01:37with high pressure.

0:01:37 > 0:01:40It offers plenty of sunshine for Monday

0:01:40 > 0:01:42and if this is your comfort zone for temperatures,

0:01:42 > 0:01:45you're certainly in that, in the mid to low 20s.

0:01:45 > 0:01:47But there is something warmer on the way

0:01:47 > 0:01:49for a time midweek, starting to bring up

0:01:49 > 0:01:50some heat from the south,

0:01:50 > 0:01:52and this area of low pressure

0:01:52 > 0:01:54starts to introduce the threat

0:01:54 > 0:01:55of some storms eventually, too.

0:01:55 > 0:01:57Now, most of us on Tuesday,

0:01:57 > 0:01:59will stay dry, warm, sunny spells -

0:01:59 > 0:02:01warmer, more humid, too.

0:02:01 > 0:02:03But towards the end of the day

0:02:03 > 0:02:04in the south and south-west,

0:02:04 > 0:02:05cloud building could see some

0:02:05 > 0:02:08of these thunderstorms breaking out.

0:02:08 > 0:02:09It may well be they don't have

0:02:09 > 0:02:11a lot of rain associated with them initially,

0:02:11 > 0:02:12just a lightning show.

0:02:12 > 0:02:14They'll continue to head north on Tuesday night

0:02:14 > 0:02:16and then merge with the weather system

0:02:16 > 0:02:18coming from the Atlantic to produce an area of rain

0:02:18 > 0:02:19affecting some of us

0:02:19 > 0:02:21across the northern half of the UK on Wednesday,

0:02:21 > 0:02:23whereas to the south of that,

0:02:23 > 0:02:25there could be some severe thunderstorms

0:02:25 > 0:02:26breaking out in places,

0:02:26 > 0:02:28that means there could be a lot of rain

0:02:28 > 0:02:31in a short space of time - lightning, hail,

0:02:31 > 0:02:34but by no means everybody will get those.

0:02:34 > 0:02:36As we go into Thursday, that system pulls away

0:02:36 > 0:02:38from the north-east of Scotland,

0:02:38 > 0:02:40what we're left with on Thursday

0:02:40 > 0:02:42is the return of an Atlantic flow,

0:02:42 > 0:02:44so it'll feel fresher once again,

0:02:44 > 0:02:46although the fresher air will take a while

0:02:46 > 0:02:48to reach East Anglia and south-east England,

0:02:48 > 0:02:49so still into the 20s, here.

0:02:49 > 0:02:51Most of us, though, in the teens

0:02:51 > 0:02:52with that breeze, sunny spells,

0:02:52 > 0:02:53and one or two showers.

0:02:53 > 0:02:55For Friday and into the weekend,

0:02:55 > 0:02:56it looks like this -

0:02:56 > 0:02:57high-pressure to the south,

0:02:57 > 0:02:58occasionally ridging in,

0:02:58 > 0:03:00especially across southern parts

0:03:00 > 0:03:01of the UK, keeping low pressure

0:03:01 > 0:03:03close to northern areas.

0:03:03 > 0:03:04A bit breezy at times, especially

0:03:04 > 0:03:06the further north you are.

0:03:06 > 0:03:07In fact, the further north you are,

0:03:07 > 0:03:08you are closer to low pressure,

0:03:08 > 0:03:11so next weekend, you're more likely to be unsettled.

0:03:11 > 0:03:13Scotland, Northern Ireland, northern England,

0:03:13 > 0:03:14windier compared with elsewhere.

0:03:14 > 0:03:16Maybe some spells of wet weather

0:03:16 > 0:03:17moving through at times.

0:03:17 > 0:03:19To the south, you're closer to high pressure.

0:03:19 > 0:03:21May still see some weather systems moving through,

0:03:21 > 0:03:22but weaker in comparison

0:03:22 > 0:03:25and you're likely to see the drier, warmer weather

0:03:25 > 0:03:26compared with the rest of the UK,

0:03:26 > 0:03:28with some of us into the low 20s,

0:03:28 > 0:03:30and that's the latest weather for the week ahead.
