0:00:03 > 0:00:05Hello there. July is turning out to be a bit of a month of two halves.

0:00:05 > 0:00:09For the first two weeks, the weather was often dry and fairly warm too.

0:00:09 > 0:00:12Things have been turning much more unsettled over recent days.

0:00:12 > 0:00:14Over the past few days, we've seen some heavy downpours,

0:00:14 > 0:00:15some flooding problems too.

0:00:15 > 0:00:18Here is the scene in County Armagh on Thursday afternoon.

0:00:18 > 0:00:21Some heavy downpours there.

0:00:21 > 0:00:23We've got low pressure still pretty close by.

0:00:23 > 0:00:25In fact, it's moving in to the southwest of the UK

0:00:25 > 0:00:27through the course of Friday,

0:00:27 > 0:00:28bringing some wet and windy weather.

0:00:28 > 0:00:31Then a ridge of high pressure sits out in the Atlantic.

0:00:31 > 0:00:32That'll settle the weather down

0:00:32 > 0:00:33through the middle of the week,

0:00:33 > 0:00:35before more rain arrives later in the week.

0:00:35 > 0:00:36So let's take a look at Friday.

0:00:36 > 0:00:38With that low pressure moving in from the west,

0:00:38 > 0:00:41it'll be a pretty wet day for Northern Ireland,

0:00:41 > 0:00:42and also particularly for Wales

0:00:42 > 0:00:43and the southwest of England,

0:00:43 > 0:00:45where those strong winds are going to be blowing

0:00:45 > 0:00:47through much of the day. Further north and east,

0:00:47 > 0:00:49it's going to be staying largely dry

0:00:49 > 0:00:50for northern Scotland,

0:00:50 > 0:00:51right down to the southeast of England.

0:00:51 > 0:00:53Temperatures here 23 degrees,

0:00:53 > 0:00:54but feeling cooler further west

0:00:54 > 0:00:56with the rain and the breeze too.

0:00:56 > 0:00:58We could see some surface water flooding

0:00:58 > 0:01:00across Wales and the southwest of England.

0:01:00 > 0:01:01Overnight and into Saturday,

0:01:01 > 0:01:03all that showery rain starts to edge

0:01:03 > 0:01:05a little bit further northwards and eastwards

0:01:05 > 0:01:06across the country.

0:01:06 > 0:01:08It will be a mild start to your weekend.

0:01:08 > 0:01:11But the weekend is looking fairly unsettled.

0:01:11 > 0:01:12We can still see those rotating winds

0:01:12 > 0:01:14in the southwest.

0:01:14 > 0:01:15So blustery and showery for parts of Wales,

0:01:15 > 0:01:17the southwest of England too.

0:01:17 > 0:01:19Further northwards and eastwards across the UK,

0:01:19 > 0:01:21we'll also see some of those showers

0:01:21 > 0:01:22breaking out during the day.

0:01:22 > 0:01:24But not a wash-out, some sunshine in between.

0:01:24 > 0:01:27Temperatures 16 to 21 degrees.

0:01:27 > 0:01:29Feeling relatively cool for the time of year.

0:01:29 > 0:01:32Then heading on into the second half of the weekend,

0:01:32 > 0:01:34low pressure starts to drift its way

0:01:34 > 0:01:36eventually away from the southwest.

0:01:36 > 0:01:38It'll be sitting somewhere out in the North Sea

0:01:38 > 0:01:39or the near continent

0:01:39 > 0:01:40by the time we get to Sunday.

0:01:40 > 0:01:42So with low pressure still not far away,

0:01:42 > 0:01:44it's going to be another showery day.

0:01:44 > 0:01:46There'll be some brighter spells, but it will be central

0:01:46 > 0:01:48and eastern parts of the country

0:01:48 > 0:01:49that will be more prone to see

0:01:49 > 0:01:51the heavier downpours during Sunday.

0:01:51 > 0:01:53Moving through into the new working week,

0:01:53 > 0:01:56low pressure stays fairly close by towards the east,

0:01:56 > 0:01:59so we could well see a spell of wet and fairly windy weather

0:01:59 > 0:02:00around eastern parts of England -

0:02:00 > 0:02:02in particular down towards East Anglia,

0:02:02 > 0:02:04for instance, quite a blustery, wet sort of day.

0:02:04 > 0:02:06Elsewhere, things are much quieter

0:02:06 > 0:02:08towards central and western parts of the country.

0:02:08 > 0:02:10Temperatures 22 degrees or so.

0:02:10 > 0:02:12Things are not looking too bad, in fact,

0:02:12 > 0:02:14through Monday and on into Tuesday as well,

0:02:14 > 0:02:16as that ridge of high pressure, for a time,

0:02:16 > 0:02:17topples in across the UK.

0:02:17 > 0:02:19It won't be lasting too long,

0:02:19 > 0:02:21but make the most of that dry and settled weather

0:02:21 > 0:02:23through the course of Monday into Tuesday too.

0:02:23 > 0:02:25Tuesday, with lighter winds,

0:02:25 > 0:02:27it's a drier day, more sunshine.

0:02:27 > 0:02:28We could see the warmer spots

0:02:28 > 0:02:30reaching around 24 degrees or so.

0:02:30 > 0:02:33So looking through into the middle part of the week,

0:02:33 > 0:02:34with that ridge of high pressure,

0:02:34 > 0:02:36things are looking dry and settled for a time,

0:02:36 > 0:02:39but low pressure from midweek onwards moves in

0:02:39 > 0:02:41once again from the west, or the northwest,

0:02:41 > 0:02:44bringing some wet and some windy weather.

0:02:44 > 0:02:47So the jet stream is strengthening out in the Atlantic.

0:02:47 > 0:02:49As we head towards the latter part of next week

0:02:49 > 0:02:51with kinks in that jet stream,

0:02:51 > 0:02:53that is what is going to be delivering

0:02:53 > 0:02:54those areas of low pressure.

0:02:54 > 0:02:57They will be interspersed with some drier, brighter

0:02:57 > 0:03:01and showery weather too, but all in all, a pretty unsettled picture.

0:03:01 > 0:03:03With the low pressure moving into the north and the west,

0:03:03 > 0:03:05it'll be northern and western parts of the UK

0:03:05 > 0:03:08that will see the wettest and the windiest of the weather.

0:03:08 > 0:03:11Further south and east, you're more likely to see scenes like this,

0:03:11 > 0:03:15so slightly drier, brighter and a little bit less windy, all in all.

0:03:15 > 0:03:18But through the course of next week, certainly a changeable theme.

0:03:18 > 0:03:21We'll have that drier spell through the middle of the week,

0:03:21 > 0:03:23but then rain returning later in the week.

0:03:23 > 0:03:25After a little bit of slightly warmer weather for a time,

0:03:25 > 0:03:28things will remain rather cool for the time of year.

0:03:28 > 0:03:29Bye for now.

0:03:30 > 0:03:3330 vocal groups clashed in choral combat -

0:03:33 > 0:03:36six survivors now face their toughest battles yet

0:03:36 > 0:03:37in the live final.

0:03:37 > 0:03:39# Going to take this night... #

0:03:39 > 0:03:41I want to, like, hang out with you guys.

0:03:41 > 0:03:42# And make it evergreen. #

0:03:42 > 0:03:45# I should've known you were bad news... #
