0:00:02 > 0:00:04Hello there. If you're going to be heading off

0:00:04 > 0:00:06on your summer holidays in the next few days,

0:00:06 > 0:00:08the first thing I'll say is - don't blame the messenger.

0:00:08 > 0:00:10Before we get on to the outlook,

0:00:10 > 0:00:12we'll have a quick look back

0:00:12 > 0:00:14at Monday's contrast, really.

0:00:14 > 0:00:1615 degrees in London, in the cloud,

0:00:16 > 0:00:19even a bit of rain around too.

0:00:19 > 0:00:22Compare that with 25 degrees

0:00:22 > 0:00:23in the southwest of Scotland,

0:00:23 > 0:00:25around Glasgow, in the sunshine.

0:00:25 > 0:00:27A taste of summer here.

0:00:27 > 0:00:29Probably going to be the warmest day of the week.

0:00:29 > 0:00:32The cloud certainly made a huge difference across the UK.

0:00:32 > 0:00:34Much cloudier skies for eastern parts of England,

0:00:34 > 0:00:37but a decent day for many of us on Tuesday.

0:00:37 > 0:00:39Looking further back in the Atlantic,

0:00:39 > 0:00:41this area of cloud will bring some rain

0:00:41 > 0:00:43on Wednesday, so make the most of Tuesday.

0:00:43 > 0:00:45It should be a decent day for the most part.

0:00:45 > 0:00:47We'll even break the cloud up in eastern England.

0:00:47 > 0:00:48The breeze will lessen,

0:00:48 > 0:00:50any showers move away.

0:00:50 > 0:00:52Many places will be dry with sunny spells.

0:00:52 > 0:00:53One or two rogue showers, perhaps,

0:00:53 > 0:00:55in the southwest, perhaps in Scotland,

0:00:55 > 0:00:57where temperatures won't be quite as high

0:00:57 > 0:00:58as on Monday.

0:00:58 > 0:01:00But with some sunshine in eastern England,

0:01:00 > 0:01:03it should be feeling quite a bit warmer, I suspect.

0:01:03 > 0:01:06But lurking out in the west and dominating the scene

0:01:06 > 0:01:07as we head into Wednesday,

0:01:07 > 0:01:09a big, deepening area of low pressure.

0:01:09 > 0:01:11Pressure dropping,

0:01:11 > 0:01:13the weather front's getting driven from the Atlantic

0:01:13 > 0:01:14towards the UK.

0:01:14 > 0:01:17Wednesday will start wet and windy

0:01:17 > 0:01:18for many western areas.

0:01:18 > 0:01:20Maybe some early sunshine in the east,

0:01:20 > 0:01:21but that won't last.

0:01:21 > 0:01:23It clouds over through the morning,

0:01:23 > 0:01:25and the rain arrives. It's quite unusual

0:01:25 > 0:01:27to have such a broad area of rain

0:01:27 > 0:01:29across the whole country at this time of the year,

0:01:29 > 0:01:32so quite a few hours of rain for all of us.

0:01:32 > 0:01:35Then, eventually, as the rain starts to shift away,

0:01:35 > 0:01:37we get some sunshine and perhaps a late boost

0:01:37 > 0:01:39in those temperatures as well.

0:01:39 > 0:01:42The last of the rain does clear away in eastern

0:01:42 > 0:01:43areas during the evening,

0:01:43 > 0:01:45as that weather front moves through.

0:01:45 > 0:01:48But we've still got a big, deep area of low pressure

0:01:48 > 0:01:50very close to the northwest of the UK.

0:01:50 > 0:01:52Around it, we're going to have

0:01:52 > 0:01:53some very strong winds as well.

0:01:53 > 0:01:55Gales are likely in the northwest.

0:01:55 > 0:01:56Closer to the low,

0:01:56 > 0:01:58we're going to find some showers

0:01:58 > 0:01:59or some longer spells of rain.

0:01:59 > 0:02:01Head towards the southeast of the UK,

0:02:01 > 0:02:02it may well be dry.

0:02:02 > 0:02:05There'll be some sunshine, but it will be windy as well.

0:02:05 > 0:02:07Disappointing temperatures too.

0:02:07 > 0:02:09Low pressure still around on Thursday,

0:02:09 > 0:02:10but it's beginning to fill.

0:02:10 > 0:02:13So pressure is rising across the low,

0:02:13 > 0:02:15which means that the winds won't be as strong

0:02:15 > 0:02:16to end the week.

0:02:16 > 0:02:19Still going to be a blustery day, but not as windy.

0:02:19 > 0:02:21Probably not as many showers either,

0:02:21 > 0:02:23particularly in Scotland and Northern Ireland.

0:02:23 > 0:02:25Again, the southeast could stay dry

0:02:25 > 0:02:29with highs of 21 or 22 at the very best.

0:02:29 > 0:02:32For many of us, quite a bit cooler than that.

0:02:32 > 0:02:34Let's head into the start of the weekend.

0:02:34 > 0:02:36The low pressure still to the north of Scotland,

0:02:36 > 0:02:38but this time we've got another low pressure

0:02:38 > 0:02:40dumbbelling around it, spinning to the south.

0:02:40 > 0:02:42That's going to be heading right the way

0:02:42 > 0:02:44across the UK at this stage.

0:02:44 > 0:02:45This is how Saturday looks.

0:02:45 > 0:02:47We're going to find some more rain

0:02:47 > 0:02:48coming up from the southwest,

0:02:48 > 0:02:50strengthening winds too.

0:02:50 > 0:02:52Temperatures probably 22 degrees,

0:02:52 > 0:02:55again towards the southeast of the UK.

0:02:55 > 0:02:59Looking further afield, into next week, low pressure to begin with.

0:02:59 > 0:03:01Tends to fade away.

0:03:01 > 0:03:04But the jet stream from the Atlantic is in this sort of position.

0:03:04 > 0:03:08Within that sort of position, we pick up areas of low pressure

0:03:08 > 0:03:12and unfortunately push them right the way across the UK.

0:03:12 > 0:03:13So that means, well into next week,

0:03:13 > 0:03:16it's basically going to stay very, very changeable.

0:03:16 > 0:03:20There'll be some warm sunshine at times, but the spells of rain

0:03:20 > 0:03:22accompanied by some rather strong winds,

0:03:22 > 0:03:24and temperatures at a maximum of 17 in the north,

0:03:24 > 0:03:2622 in the southeast.

0:03:26 > 0:03:28Rather cool for this time of year.

0:03:28 > 0:03:29Goodbye.

0:03:35 > 0:03:38Promise me that you'll come and find me.

0:03:40 > 0:03:41You surely don't think that we could

0:03:41 > 0:03:43set up house together like man and wife?

0:03:43 > 0:03:45The bride and groom.
