:00:08. > :00:16.There has been little sign of any prolonged summer weather in the UK.

:00:17. > :00:23.We will start with frost in rural Scotland. We have heard about the

:00:24. > :00:27.dangerous heatwave in contrast persisting for over a week in

:00:28. > :00:35.southern Europe. It is going east. Parts of the Balkans will have day

:00:36. > :00:42.after day of below 40 Celsius. Cordova was in the mid- 40s.

:00:43. > :00:46.Stagnant air in the British Isles. North of the jetstream, cold air.

:00:47. > :00:51.Eventually next week, the cooler air will go south. Pushing out hit into

:00:52. > :00:56.the south and east of Europe. Heating up in these regions. Of

:00:57. > :01:03.course, with that cold air across the UK, lots of showers for the

:01:04. > :01:08.first part of the weekend. Under the ridge of high pressure for the start

:01:09. > :01:14.of the morning as I mentioned, ground frost. Fog around as well. It

:01:15. > :01:21.does not last. We have low pressure bringing some rain. That rain comes

:01:22. > :01:26.in across on a brisk wind. A chilly start elsewhere. Then dry weather

:01:27. > :01:32.and bright weather in southern areas and even the north-east of Scotland.

:01:33. > :01:37.Northern Ireland brightens up. A decent day. Other northern areas on

:01:38. > :01:41.Monday as well. If you were under the weather front which is

:01:42. > :01:45.slow-moving, quite a dreary day. Parts of the south-east may escape

:01:46. > :01:49.the worst. However, after that, it looks like we will get low pressure

:01:50. > :01:56.starting to move up in France. Joining forces with pressure here in

:01:57. > :02:01.the North Sea. Heavy weather. Not looking like pleasant day. The wind

:02:02. > :02:09.is strengthening. Heavy showers and thunderstorms. Muggy air for a time.

:02:10. > :02:14.15- 20 degrees. The latter part of Tuesday. Starting to lose that muggy

:02:15. > :02:18.air except in eastern areas. We pick up this strong northerly wind.

:02:19. > :02:23.Tightly packed isobars coming down from the north. It does not look

:02:24. > :02:26.very summer like at all. Strong northerly winds driving plenty more

:02:27. > :02:32.showers along this area. Temperatures will struggle to reach

:02:33. > :02:35.the mid-teens for many. Quite chilly. It will be a long time

:02:36. > :02:40.before that clears out of the way across southern and eastern areas.

:02:41. > :02:45.It may take until Thursday. Thursday for most looks like the driest and

:02:46. > :02:52.best day of the week, if you like. 18 north-westerly across eastern

:02:53. > :02:57.areas. -- A keen. 15- 17. That is after a chilly start to be dry for

:02:58. > :03:06.the most part. Showers on Thursday and Friday. We have a high close to

:03:07. > :03:10.us in the south. A promise of something more dry. Again, it looks

:03:11. > :03:14.as if it will only be for southern areas later in the week and into the

:03:15. > :03:17.weekend. At this stage, low pressure continuing to dry in off the

:03:18. > :03:24.Atlantic for the northern half of the UK. It will be unsettled across

:03:25. > :03:29.the north of the UK with some rain and at times fairly strong winds.

:03:30. > :03:30.Closer to the high, it looks like it will be
