0:00:02 > 0:00:04Hello. It looks like temperatures will slowly be on the rise

0:00:04 > 0:00:08through the early part of next week, and it's partly down to the system

0:00:08 > 0:00:11which has been pushing its way across the UK through Sunday

0:00:11 > 0:00:13because embedded in this area of cloud

0:00:13 > 0:00:15is the remnants of ex-hurricane Gert

0:00:15 > 0:00:17which has been whizzing its way across the Atlantic

0:00:17 > 0:00:19and will slowly introduce more moisture,

0:00:19 > 0:00:21and also eventually some tropical air.

0:00:21 > 0:00:24Not quite tropical across the UK on Sunday,

0:00:24 > 0:00:26but there was some sunshine, especially across eastern areas.

0:00:26 > 0:00:29A different story further west - the cloud has been increasing,

0:00:29 > 0:00:32some mists and fog and some outbreaks of rain.

0:00:32 > 0:00:34And we'll still see some of that during Monday morning

0:00:34 > 0:00:37as the system continues to push its way across the country,

0:00:37 > 0:00:39not just cloud and some outbreaks of rain,

0:00:39 > 0:00:42but also some visibility problems, some mist and fog,

0:00:42 > 0:00:44during Monday morning, particularly across southern

0:00:44 > 0:00:46and central parts of England and parts of Wales.

0:00:46 > 0:00:49But the rain here will slowly fizzle out through the morning.

0:00:49 > 0:00:52It'll keep going across Northern Ireland and eventually

0:00:52 > 0:00:53push into parts of north-west England

0:00:53 > 0:00:55and western parts of Scotland.

0:00:55 > 0:00:58But away from here, should become mainly dry through the afternoon.

0:00:58 > 0:01:00We'll keep quite a lot of clouds,

0:01:00 > 0:01:01so any brightness or sunshine at a premium.

0:01:01 > 0:01:04If the sun does come out for any length of time,

0:01:04 > 0:01:06we'll see values a degree or so higher than this.

0:01:06 > 0:01:08Through tomorrow evening our band of rain

0:01:08 > 0:01:10continues to push its way across Scotland

0:01:10 > 0:01:12skirting with parts of north-east England.

0:01:12 > 0:01:14Still some rain for Northern Ireland for a time as well.

0:01:14 > 0:01:16It becomes dry elsewhere, but a lot of cloud.

0:01:16 > 0:01:20There'll be some mist and fog - once again some visibility problems

0:01:20 > 0:01:21and an increasingly humid night

0:01:21 > 0:01:25with lows not much lower than 15 or 16 Celsius.

0:01:25 > 0:01:27As we look ahead to Wednesday, well,

0:01:27 > 0:01:29this weather front is still with us,

0:01:29 > 0:01:31bringing outbreaks of rain to Scotland

0:01:31 > 0:01:34and some showers eventually to parts of Northern Ireland as well.

0:01:34 > 0:01:36But elsewhere on Tuesday, mainly dry,

0:01:36 > 0:01:39and that cloud breaking a little bit more than we saw on Monday.

0:01:39 > 0:01:42So we should see some good spells of sunshine,

0:01:42 > 0:01:43and that will help temperatures

0:01:43 > 0:01:46up to between 23 and 25 Celsius,

0:01:46 > 0:01:49and those values getting even higher on Wednesday for some,

0:01:49 > 0:01:51because out to the west is a cold front.

0:01:51 > 0:01:54As its name implies, behind it is some fresher conditions,

0:01:54 > 0:01:57and that will be slowly pushing its way eastwards through the day.

0:01:57 > 0:02:00The cold front bringing some fairly heavy rain for a time

0:02:00 > 0:02:02across western parts of Scotland and also north-west England.

0:02:02 > 0:02:06Should clear from Northern Ireland to leave a much fresher day.

0:02:06 > 0:02:07Got some good spells of sunshine

0:02:07 > 0:02:09across East Anglia and south-east England

0:02:09 > 0:02:11and here, highs of 25, 26 Celsius,

0:02:11 > 0:02:13maybe even higher,

0:02:13 > 0:02:15but a fresher feel further west

0:02:15 > 0:02:18even though we'll see some sunshine.

0:02:18 > 0:02:20And we'll all be in that fresher air on Thursday

0:02:20 > 0:02:22as the westerly winds pick up a little bit of strength.

0:02:22 > 0:02:25There'll be further rain, I'm afraid, for Northern Ireland,

0:02:25 > 0:02:28and some showers for Scotland. But elsewhere, a mainly dry day,

0:02:28 > 0:02:31maybe one or two showers getting down to parts of Wales,

0:02:31 > 0:02:33and temperatures back down to around 19 to 22 Celsius.

0:02:33 > 0:02:36So here's the end of the week. High pressure tantalisingly close,

0:02:36 > 0:02:38bringing something a little bit more settled

0:02:38 > 0:02:40to southern parts of the country,

0:02:40 > 0:02:43but this area of low pressure starting to pull away from Scotland

0:02:43 > 0:02:45and that means there'll still be further showers here,

0:02:45 > 0:02:47some of those may filter their way further down

0:02:47 > 0:02:50into parts of northern England and Wales,

0:02:50 > 0:02:52but elsewhere, a mainly dry end to the week,

0:02:52 > 0:02:54a fresher feel, some spells of sunshine,

0:02:54 > 0:02:56and highs between 19 and 23 Celsius.

0:02:56 > 0:02:58Now that sets us up for a bank holiday weekend

0:02:58 > 0:03:01and it wouldn't be a bank holiday weekend

0:03:01 > 0:03:03if there wasn't some uncertainty.

0:03:03 > 0:03:05An area of high pressure close to south-west England

0:03:05 > 0:03:07bringing something more settled here,

0:03:07 > 0:03:10low pressure to the north, perhaps some outbreaks of rain here,

0:03:10 > 0:03:13and this area of low pressure just complicating things a little bit.

0:03:13 > 0:03:16So if you are having a bank holiday next weekend,

0:03:16 > 0:03:18it looks like there will be some uncertainty for sure.

0:03:18 > 0:03:21The wettest weather across more northern parts of the country

0:03:21 > 0:03:23and probably dryest in the south.

0:03:23 > 0:03:26We'll try and firm up on the details in the coming days. Bye-bye.
