0:00:02 > 0:00:05Hello. At the end of this forecast we'll be looking into the early part

0:00:05 > 0:00:07of September which, potentially, could be fairly settled,

0:00:07 > 0:00:10unlike August which has been quite disappointing for some.

0:00:10 > 0:00:11But at least the final weekend of the month

0:00:11 > 0:00:13has delivered some warmth and some sunshine.

0:00:13 > 0:00:15More of the same tomorrow, especially across

0:00:15 > 0:00:17England, Wales and Northern Ireland thanks to this

0:00:17 > 0:00:20area of high pressure. But to the northwest of Scotland

0:00:20 > 0:00:22this frontal system will bring a different sort of day,

0:00:22 > 0:00:25increasing the cloud, strengthening the wind and eventually

0:00:25 > 0:00:27bringing some outbreaks of rain. But away from here

0:00:27 > 0:00:31a dry day, good spells of sunshine, a much improved air across

0:00:31 > 0:00:33Northern Ireland and much of Scotland.

0:00:33 > 0:00:35Plenty of sunshine to be found, just some infill of cloud.

0:00:35 > 0:00:39That will help temperatures widely to between 21 and 25 Celsius,

0:00:39 > 0:00:42a fresher feel to the far northwest of Scotland.

0:00:42 > 0:00:44Through much of this week we've seen a number of showers

0:00:44 > 0:00:46which means we've also seen a number of rainbows.

0:00:46 > 0:00:49Very different next week in that there should be a bit more sunshine

0:00:49 > 0:00:53but it won't be plain sailing, not least because we could well

0:00:53 > 0:00:56see some very strong winds to the north of the country.

0:00:56 > 0:00:59Always warmest further south but not necessarily always dry.

0:00:59 > 0:01:01I'll come to that in a minute.

0:01:01 > 0:01:05Sunday night into Monday sees our band of rain still affecting

0:01:05 > 0:01:07parts of Scotland, strengthening winds here, eventually

0:01:07 > 0:01:10some of that rain approaching Northern Ireland.

0:01:10 > 0:01:13Otherwise, a dry night, a mild night

0:01:13 > 0:01:15with lows of 14-16 Celsius.

0:01:15 > 0:01:18Away from Scotland it's a bank holiday on Monday.

0:01:18 > 0:01:21Could well turn fairly unsettled across Northern Ireland

0:01:21 > 0:01:24as the winds strengthen and outbreaks of rain push in here,

0:01:24 > 0:01:27and wet and windy weather still affecting many parts of Scotland.

0:01:27 > 0:01:31But away from the northwest of the UK, bank holiday Monday

0:01:31 > 0:01:34looks to be dry, settled, some good spells of sunshine,

0:01:34 > 0:01:37particularly across central, southern and eastern parts

0:01:37 > 0:01:40of England and that could help temperatures up to 27,

0:01:40 > 0:01:42maybe 28 Celsius.

0:01:42 > 0:01:45As we go through Monday night and into Tuesday,

0:01:45 > 0:01:47our cold front starts to slip its way south.

0:01:47 > 0:01:50It's a weakening feature so by Tuesday morning

0:01:50 > 0:01:52all that's left is a band of cloud

0:01:52 > 0:01:54and maybe the odd spot of rain.

0:01:54 > 0:01:57But still some showers for Northern Ireland and Scotland

0:01:57 > 0:02:00and still some strengthening winds here and some fresher

0:02:00 > 0:02:04conditions starting to creep in to western and northwestern

0:02:04 > 0:02:08parts of England, temperatures back down to around 16-19 Celsius

0:02:08 > 0:02:11but still hanging on to that warmth and humidity in the southeast,

0:02:11 > 0:02:12with highs of 24.

0:02:12 > 0:02:15As that cold front lingers across southeastern areas,

0:02:15 > 0:02:19Tuesday into Wednesday, it could just pep up the rainfall

0:02:19 > 0:02:21a little bit through Wednesday morning.

0:02:21 > 0:02:24An area of low pressure to the south,

0:02:24 > 0:02:25Atlantic system to the west,

0:02:25 > 0:02:28which means there will be some rain around on Wednesday.

0:02:28 > 0:02:30Detail a bit tricky at the moment, potentially the more

0:02:30 > 0:02:33unsettled day of the week, still quite warm and humid

0:02:33 > 0:02:36in the southeast, fresher further north and west.

0:02:36 > 0:02:38And that rain is still lingering across southeast England

0:02:38 > 0:02:42on Thursday. With that humidity it has the potential to be

0:02:42 > 0:02:45thundery, further showers for Northern Ireland and Scotland,

0:02:45 > 0:02:48in-between a slice of drier weather. And then we look to

0:02:48 > 0:02:51the southwest and this area of low pressure.

0:02:51 > 0:02:55Where will it go for the end of the week and into the weekend?

0:02:55 > 0:02:59Much depends on this area of high pressure and its exact position.

0:02:59 > 0:03:02It looks like for next weekend it should be centred over

0:03:02 > 0:03:05much of the country, but that low pressure pushing up towards

0:03:05 > 0:03:08the northwest of Scotland again could bring something wetter here.

0:03:08 > 0:03:12Meanwhile, to the south and east, we're drawing up some warm and humid

0:03:12 > 0:03:16air, so we're likely to continue to keep that warmth into next weekend

0:03:16 > 0:03:20and early September. Which, as I mentioned, should be largely settled

0:03:20 > 0:03:24but still some rain in the north and still quite warm in the south.
