0:00:02 > 0:00:04Hello. Time for our extended look at the weather.

0:00:04 > 0:00:06I don't think it's giving the game away too much

0:00:06 > 0:00:09to say the outlook is a cold one.

0:00:09 > 0:00:10Saturday was a chilly day.

0:00:10 > 0:00:12Here's a picture from the Brecon Beacons.

0:00:12 > 0:00:15We saw a dusting of snow across the tops here.

0:00:15 > 0:00:17Less in the way of showers on Sunday

0:00:17 > 0:00:19and a slightly lighter wind.

0:00:19 > 0:00:21Another cold day, though,

0:00:21 > 0:00:22with a widespread frost to start.

0:00:22 > 0:00:24A lot of sunshine around first thing.

0:00:24 > 0:00:26Central and eastern areas should manage to hang onto

0:00:26 > 0:00:28that into the afternoon.

0:00:28 > 0:00:30In the west, more in the way of cloud.

0:00:30 > 0:00:31Not completely shower-free,

0:00:31 > 0:00:33but definitely a drier story.

0:00:33 > 0:00:35Temperatures very much like Saturday,

0:00:35 > 0:00:37but somewhere between the 4-8 degree mark.

0:00:37 > 0:00:39A cold feeling day.

0:00:39 > 0:00:41This weather system here, towards the north-west,

0:00:41 > 0:00:44will start to come into play through Sunday evening

0:00:44 > 0:00:45for Northern Ireland and Scotland,

0:00:45 > 0:00:47bringing some wet and windy weather.

0:00:47 > 0:00:49Then this weather front will sink its way south

0:00:49 > 0:00:51across England and Wales to bring some wet weather

0:00:51 > 0:00:53come the end of the night.

0:00:53 > 0:00:55The biggest difference that weather system makes

0:00:55 > 0:00:57is that it will make for a milder night.

0:00:57 > 0:00:59A frost-free start to the new week,

0:00:59 > 0:01:01but a wet and windy one.

0:01:01 > 0:01:03A wet rush hour across southern England.

0:01:03 > 0:01:06Then we're left with a mixture of sunny spells

0:01:06 > 0:01:07and some quite hefty showers

0:01:07 > 0:01:09for Monday daytime, really.

0:01:09 > 0:01:11Some wintry flurries again,

0:01:11 > 0:01:12particularly pushing into the Highlands

0:01:12 > 0:01:13and the Grampians.

0:01:13 > 0:01:16Windy story, but temperatures in double figures

0:01:16 > 0:01:18for London. Keep an eye on those figures, though.

0:01:18 > 0:01:20We won't be seeing anything like an 11

0:01:20 > 0:01:21in the coming days.

0:01:21 > 0:01:24The reason being once this weather system

0:01:24 > 0:01:25pushes out of the way,

0:01:25 > 0:01:28we again line up our isobars from north to south,

0:01:28 > 0:01:30bringing air in from the Arctic.

0:01:30 > 0:01:32Low pressure to the east,

0:01:32 > 0:01:34always close enough to be throwing a few showers

0:01:34 > 0:01:35at eastern coasts.

0:01:35 > 0:01:37I think we'll see some of those on Tuesday.

0:01:37 > 0:01:39Winds here as well.

0:01:39 > 0:01:41In the west, some showers clipping into Wales

0:01:41 > 0:01:42and the south-west of England.

0:01:42 > 0:01:45A lot of sunshine on offer, however,

0:01:45 > 0:01:47but it will feel chilly, thanks to the wind.

0:01:47 > 0:01:50Temperatures struggling, in single figures.

0:01:50 > 0:01:52For Tuesday, the area of low pressure

0:01:52 > 0:01:53still to the east.

0:01:53 > 0:01:55Slight change in the orientation of the isobars.

0:01:55 > 0:01:57It looks like, if anything,

0:01:57 > 0:01:58perhaps we'll see stronger winds

0:01:58 > 0:02:00along the east coast.

0:02:00 > 0:02:01The showers perhaps shifting a little bit more

0:02:01 > 0:02:04offshore from Wales and the south-west of England,

0:02:04 > 0:02:06but still some clipping Pembrokeshire, I think,

0:02:06 > 0:02:07and Devon and Cornwall.

0:02:07 > 0:02:08Another cold day, though,

0:02:08 > 0:02:10and especially with that biting wind.

0:02:10 > 0:02:13Again, it's just the subtle shift between Wednesday

0:02:13 > 0:02:15and Thursday in the isobars.

0:02:15 > 0:02:17If anything, though, perhaps a little weather system

0:02:17 > 0:02:19in the North Sea, an area of more organised showers,

0:02:19 > 0:02:21if you like, threatening the east coast

0:02:21 > 0:02:23of England for Thursday.

0:02:23 > 0:02:25We could see some particularly strong winds

0:02:25 > 0:02:26by then as well.

0:02:26 > 0:02:28It looks like we'll start to see more showers

0:02:28 > 0:02:30just feeding into Wales and the south-west of England.

0:02:30 > 0:02:33Again, though, still a cold day to come.

0:02:33 > 0:02:34Still plenty of winter sunshine

0:02:34 > 0:02:36away from those exposed coasts.

0:02:36 > 0:02:39For Friday, very similar picture.

0:02:39 > 0:02:41Showers tending to focus on the east.

0:02:41 > 0:02:44The best of the sunshine in sheltered central areas.

0:02:44 > 0:02:46Temperatures 5-6 degrees, but feeling much colder

0:02:46 > 0:02:47with the wind.

0:02:48 > 0:02:51As for the outlook for the following weekend

0:02:51 > 0:02:53and the week after that,

0:02:53 > 0:02:56well, we're still going to be stuck with a lot of cold air.

0:02:56 > 0:02:59Mild air waiting to move in in the Atlantic,

0:02:59 > 0:03:01but it's all tied into an area of high pressure

0:03:01 > 0:03:02that's kind of got blocked

0:03:02 > 0:03:04and isn't going to go anywhere in a great hurry,

0:03:04 > 0:03:07so we'll keep that low to the east, the high to the west.

0:03:07 > 0:03:09We'll keep the chilly air stream.

0:03:09 > 0:03:12Perhaps if the high just extends towards us a little more, though,

0:03:12 > 0:03:14it'll mean some lighter winds.

0:03:14 > 0:03:17That'll bring some further wintry complications in the form,

0:03:17 > 0:03:19potentially, of some patches of freezing fog.

0:03:19 > 0:03:21We're still staying cold

0:03:21 > 0:03:24and we're still looking at some pretty widespread frost,

0:03:24 > 0:03:25so it's definitely going to be

0:03:25 > 0:03:27a proper wintry feel as we move

0:03:27 > 0:03:28towards the start of December.
