0:00:03 > 0:00:05Hello. If the cold weather has not been your thing

0:00:05 > 0:00:07well, the good news is we've lost that chilly easterly component

0:00:07 > 0:00:09to our wind from the rest of this week.

0:00:09 > 0:00:10Air is coming off the Atlantic,

0:00:10 > 0:00:13which means milder weather for all compared to what we've been used to.

0:00:13 > 0:00:16But, of course, coming off the Atlantic, we do see a bit more cloud

0:00:16 > 0:00:18and there will be a bit of rain rather than snow at times.

0:00:18 > 0:00:20At the moment, we've got high pressure.

0:00:20 > 0:00:23That, through the last 24 hours, has been drifting its way southwards,

0:00:23 > 0:00:25and so the easterly winds have pushed off

0:00:25 > 0:00:26down in towards south-west Europe.

0:00:26 > 0:00:30We've got the Atlantic air but, through Wednesday, outbreaks of rain

0:00:30 > 0:00:33comes with cloud across Scotland, Northern Ireland

0:00:33 > 0:00:35and, late in the day, far north of England and North Wales.

0:00:35 > 0:00:38Not a thoroughly soggy day, still some breaks to the east of Scotland.

0:00:38 > 0:00:40Could hit around 12 or 13 here.

0:00:40 > 0:00:43Across England and Wales, most places will stay dry.

0:00:43 > 0:00:45Sunniest in the morning, widespread frost.

0:00:45 > 0:00:487-10 degrees by the afternoon.

0:00:48 > 0:00:51Through the evening, that thicker cloud will gradually work its way

0:00:51 > 0:00:53across England and Wales, producing the odd spot

0:00:53 > 0:00:54of light rain or drizzle,

0:00:54 > 0:00:56but those winds coming off the Atlantic.

0:00:56 > 0:00:58If we look out to the Atlantic and the jet stream,

0:00:58 > 0:01:00it's got this undulating pattern,

0:01:00 > 0:01:02which means that weather gets a bit more changeable

0:01:02 > 0:01:04through the rest of the week.

0:01:04 > 0:01:06The big lump you can see there, though, into Thursday is a ridge

0:01:06 > 0:01:09of high pressure bringing up some milder air for all by this stage,

0:01:09 > 0:01:12ahead of an approaching weather front.

0:01:12 > 0:01:14So after some overnight cloud and patchy rain,

0:01:14 > 0:01:17some breaks in the cloud boost the temperatures quite nicely.

0:01:17 > 0:01:20Strong to maybe gale force winds later on across the west.

0:01:20 > 0:01:23Outbreaks of rain Northern Ireland, Western Scotland and,

0:01:23 > 0:01:26by the time we hit the end of the afternoon, in the far west of Wales.

0:01:26 > 0:01:28But with some hazy sunshine still in the eastern areas,

0:01:28 > 0:01:3112-14 degrees is certainly possible.

0:01:31 > 0:01:34We stay mild as we go through the night and into Friday.

0:01:34 > 0:01:37Outbreaks of rain pushing across most areas,

0:01:37 > 0:01:40but this little wraparound of an occlusion close to the centre

0:01:40 > 0:01:42of low pressure will feed in quite a wet day

0:01:42 > 0:01:44on Friday, it looks like, in Northern Ireland.

0:01:44 > 0:01:45Parts of west of Scotland as well.

0:01:45 > 0:01:47Maybe a little bit of snow over the hills,

0:01:47 > 0:01:49but for most it's rain.

0:01:49 > 0:01:52Come away from that, it's a day of sunshine and showers on Friday.

0:01:52 > 0:01:56Some showers heavy with hail and thunder, big gaps in between,

0:01:56 > 0:01:58and there will be some, particularly in the eastern areas,

0:01:58 > 0:02:00who will stay dry all day long.

0:02:00 > 0:02:02Temperatures still getting to double figures for some.

0:02:02 > 0:02:04Little bit cooler, admittedly, as we finish the week

0:02:04 > 0:02:07going into the weekend, as we'll see on Wednesday and Thursday.

0:02:07 > 0:02:09Low pressure, though, pushing further north.

0:02:09 > 0:02:11That means showers will be migrating with it,

0:02:11 > 0:02:14mainly across Scotland, Northern Ireland and northern England.

0:02:14 > 0:02:17Occasional showers, heavy with hail and thunder. Maybe a bit of sleet

0:02:17 > 0:02:19over very high ground, but for most it's rain.

0:02:19 > 0:02:22Head further south, well, a slight ridge of high pressure builds in.

0:02:22 > 0:02:25Morning patchy mist and fog, maybe one or two showers.

0:02:25 > 0:02:27But most places will actually be dry

0:02:27 > 0:02:29and having a pretty decent weekend across southern areas.

0:02:29 > 0:02:32We could see a weather system very close to the south-west into Sunday.

0:02:32 > 0:02:35The emphasis is on that pushing towards western France

0:02:35 > 0:02:36instead of our shores.

0:02:36 > 0:02:39So still at the moment, much of England and Wales,

0:02:39 > 0:02:40bar one or two isolated showers,

0:02:40 > 0:02:44morning mist and fog clears, sunny spells, many will be dry.

0:02:44 > 0:02:46A few showers continue in Scotland and Northern Ireland.

0:02:46 > 0:02:49It's here where the breeze will still be a feature,

0:02:49 > 0:02:53but not a cold weekend, with temperatures still 10-13 degrees.

0:02:53 > 0:02:56Into next week, after this ridge of high pressure

0:02:56 > 0:02:58caused by the jet stream,

0:02:58 > 0:03:00the jet stream starts to charge a little bit more across.

0:03:00 > 0:03:03It's putting its back into more changeable conditions

0:03:03 > 0:03:04through much of the week.

0:03:04 > 0:03:06That means low pressure a bit more dominant,

0:03:06 > 0:03:08particularly to the north of the UK.

0:03:08 > 0:03:10This is where it'll always be windier and, at times, wetter.

0:03:10 > 0:03:12But it's by no means a wash-out of a week.

0:03:12 > 0:03:15Still some drier, sunnier days. Compared to what we've had of late,

0:03:15 > 0:03:18mild overall. But there are a few hints as we head towards Easter,

0:03:18 > 0:03:21as low pressure pushes towards the east of us,

0:03:21 > 0:03:22we could drag in some colder air.

0:03:22 > 0:03:25Not the bitter easterly winds we've had, but temperatures dropping

0:03:25 > 0:03:28relative to what we'll see through the week. We'll keep you updated.
