0:00:02 > 0:00:05Hello. We may be heading towards the start of British Summertime,

0:00:05 > 0:00:07but the weather is yo-yoing between something springlike

0:00:07 > 0:00:09and something more wintry

0:00:09 > 0:00:11over the next 10 days or so.

0:00:11 > 0:00:12For the rest of this week,

0:00:12 > 0:00:14it's looking a bit milder than it has been.

0:00:14 > 0:00:18There's some rain around at times too, but not a wash-out.

0:00:18 > 0:00:19We are seeing an Atlantic influence

0:00:19 > 0:00:21to our weather over the next few days.

0:00:21 > 0:00:24So through Wednesday night into Thursday, we've got

0:00:24 > 0:00:26this frontal system moving in from the Atlantic.

0:00:26 > 0:00:27During Thursday morning,

0:00:27 > 0:00:30potentially still a bit of rain in the far east first thing.

0:00:30 > 0:00:31That should fizzle away.

0:00:31 > 0:00:33Quite a lot of dry weather with some sunshine

0:00:33 > 0:00:36for eastern Scotland, central and eastern England as well.

0:00:36 > 0:00:38More cloud moves in from the west

0:00:38 > 0:00:40with some rain for Northern Ireland and western Scotland.

0:00:40 > 0:00:42But for eastern Scotland in the sunshine,

0:00:42 > 0:00:44we could see 13 degrees or so.

0:00:44 > 0:00:48And further south, most of us around 10 to 12 degrees.

0:00:48 > 0:00:50And then moving through into Thursday evening

0:00:50 > 0:00:51and overnight into Friday,

0:00:51 > 0:00:54this band of rain will slowly track its way

0:00:54 > 0:00:56gradually further eastwards across much of the country.

0:00:56 > 0:01:00It's quite cold at the moment across the eastern seaboard of the US,

0:01:00 > 0:01:03but as we move across the Atlantic, watch the jet stream.

0:01:03 > 0:01:07Towards the UK, we've got this bulge of milder air with us.

0:01:07 > 0:01:09It's not going to be sticking around too long, though.

0:01:09 > 0:01:13Heading through into Friday, a cold front moves slowly eastwards.

0:01:13 > 0:01:15That will bring a band of cloud

0:01:15 > 0:01:17with outbreaks of rain

0:01:17 > 0:01:18across many parts of the country.

0:01:18 > 0:01:20Clear in the east during the day

0:01:20 > 0:01:22and then a return to sunshine

0:01:22 > 0:01:23but also showers coming in

0:01:23 > 0:01:25as those winds turn more north-westerly.

0:01:25 > 0:01:29Could be some hail, potentially sleet or snow over higher ground,

0:01:29 > 0:01:32but for most places those showers will be falling as rain.

0:01:32 > 0:01:35With temperatures between 8 to 12 degrees on Friday.

0:01:35 > 0:01:38As we end the week and head towards the weekend,

0:01:38 > 0:01:39it's not looking too bad.

0:01:39 > 0:01:41We have got low pressure not far away,

0:01:41 > 0:01:43but it's to the north of the UK.

0:01:43 > 0:01:44Also an area of low pressure

0:01:44 > 0:01:46slowly clearing from the south.

0:01:46 > 0:01:50So on Saturday, fairly cloudy skies for much of England and Wales

0:01:50 > 0:01:51with a potential for patchy rain

0:01:51 > 0:01:53towards the south and east.

0:01:53 > 0:01:56And then some sunnier skies further north-west,

0:01:56 > 0:01:59but we've still got showers packing in on that north-westerly breeze

0:01:59 > 0:02:01across western Scotland, Northern Ireland too.

0:02:01 > 0:02:04Potentially a bit of wintriness just over the hills.

0:02:04 > 0:02:07Heading into the second half of the weekend,

0:02:07 > 0:02:08it looks like it should be

0:02:08 > 0:02:10an improving picture for Sunday.

0:02:10 > 0:02:12So weather fronts largely clearing away.

0:02:12 > 0:02:14There could be early frost and fog patches

0:02:14 > 0:02:17that should clear to leave a largely dry day.

0:02:17 > 0:02:19Sunny skies and relatively light winds.

0:02:19 > 0:02:22Still that ongoing threat of more wintry showers

0:02:22 > 0:02:24towards the north-west of Scotland,

0:02:24 > 0:02:27but much of the UK avoiding those showers, staying dry.

0:02:27 > 0:02:30In the sunshine, we're likely to see 9 to 12 degrees,

0:02:30 > 0:02:32so relatively typical of the time of year.

0:02:32 > 0:02:34Then, heading through into Monday,

0:02:34 > 0:02:36the next area of low pressure is set

0:02:36 > 0:02:38to be working in from the west.

0:02:38 > 0:02:40So though Monday is likely to start off dry and bright,

0:02:40 > 0:02:43especially towards the east where we should keep the sunshine

0:02:43 > 0:02:44for much of the day,

0:02:44 > 0:02:47we are likely to see rain working from west to east,

0:02:47 > 0:02:49probably for Northern Ireland,

0:02:49 > 0:02:51then into parts of England and Wales too.

0:02:51 > 0:02:53Temperatures in the south

0:02:53 > 0:02:54up to around 13 degrees or so,

0:02:54 > 0:02:56but they will turn that bit cooler

0:02:56 > 0:02:58from the north-west.

0:02:58 > 0:02:59And then, as we look further ahead,

0:02:59 > 0:03:01heading towards Easter now,

0:03:01 > 0:03:03it does look like we will start to see

0:03:03 > 0:03:05more of a northerly influence to our weather.

0:03:05 > 0:03:07Still uncertainty at this stage,

0:03:07 > 0:03:10but it could be that we start to draw in winds

0:03:10 > 0:03:12from a north-easterly direction.

0:03:12 > 0:03:15So potentially that could bring not just colder weather,

0:03:15 > 0:03:17but one or two wintry flurries towards Easter.

0:03:17 > 0:03:20But over the next 10 days after those weekend showers

0:03:20 > 0:03:22and a mild start to next week,

0:03:22 > 0:03:25do watch out for a dip in those temperatures once again.

0:03:25 > 0:03:28But we'll firm up on the detail over the next few days.

0:03:28 > 0:03:29Bye for now.
