0:00:01 > 0:00:04Hello there. Our weather goes from stormy

0:00:04 > 0:00:06to much more settled during the next 24 hours

0:00:06 > 0:00:08as high pressure starts to build in,

0:00:08 > 0:00:11but at the moment we've still got one or two storms rumbling around

0:00:11 > 0:00:12and will do into Sunday,

0:00:12 > 0:00:14particularly across some Eastern areas.

0:00:14 > 0:00:16But few and far between. Most will be dry.

0:00:16 > 0:00:18A wet start through across the Northeast of Scotland

0:00:18 > 0:00:19Great conditions elsewhere,

0:00:19 > 0:00:21with some mist, low clouds, patchy fog.

0:00:21 > 0:00:23Brightening up in the afternoon,

0:00:23 > 0:00:26particularly across many central and Western areas,

0:00:26 > 0:00:28so Northern Ireland and Western Scotland a brighter

0:00:28 > 0:00:31and also drier day compared with what we saw on Saturday.

0:00:31 > 0:00:33Still the chance or one or two light showers

0:00:33 > 0:00:35and maybe feeling a little bit fresher.

0:00:35 > 0:00:37Temperatures 18 to 22 degrees.

0:00:37 > 0:00:39Then the far Northeast of Scotland

0:00:39 > 0:00:41could still see rain. Eastern Scotland though,

0:00:41 > 0:00:42chance of an isolated thunderstorm,

0:00:42 > 0:00:44but western parts of England,

0:00:44 > 0:00:45Wales, including the Midlands,

0:00:45 > 0:00:47much more sunshine compared

0:00:47 > 0:00:48with what we saw through Saturday.

0:00:48 > 0:00:50A little bit fresher on the coast,

0:00:50 > 0:00:51where we've got the wind

0:00:51 > 0:00:53coming off the Irish Sea.

0:00:53 > 0:00:55We'll see temperatures in the high teens,

0:00:55 > 0:00:56but come inland into mid-20s.

0:00:56 > 0:00:59But down these Eastern counties of England,

0:00:59 > 0:01:01some isolated but quite intense thunderstorms.

0:01:01 > 0:01:02Not everyone will see them.

0:01:02 > 0:01:04Some of you will stay dry throughout the day,

0:01:04 > 0:01:07but they could cause some minor flooding issues,

0:01:07 > 0:01:11some of them lasting into

0:01:11 > 0:01:13the night and into Monday.

0:01:13 > 0:01:15Only a few showers as we start the new week.

0:01:15 > 0:01:19Temperatures maybe not quite as high as they have

0:01:19 > 0:01:21but still quite a warm night by and large.

0:01:21 > 0:01:23It's still quite muggy across some parts

0:01:23 > 0:01:25of East Anglia and the Southeast.

0:01:25 > 0:01:26The charts into Monday shows low

0:01:26 > 0:01:28pressure across central Europe,

0:01:28 > 0:01:30that's as well to the North of the Atlantic.

0:01:30 > 0:01:32And this area of high pressure

0:01:32 > 0:01:33building in from Iberia as well

0:01:33 > 0:01:35as one building in from Scandinavia.

0:01:35 > 0:01:37The effect is to slowly

0:01:37 > 0:01:38put a cap on the atmosphere,

0:01:38 > 0:01:40starting to stop those shower clouds from forming.

0:01:40 > 0:01:43Still could be one or two across Eastern areas,

0:01:43 > 0:01:44a little bit of cloud here and there,

0:01:44 > 0:01:46but after a misty and foggy

0:01:46 > 0:01:47start a dry and bright day.

0:01:47 > 0:01:49Some long spells of sunshine

0:01:49 > 0:01:51expected for many,

0:01:51 > 0:01:52just an isolated shower

0:01:52 > 0:01:53brewing over the hills.

0:01:53 > 0:01:55Temperature's a very pleasant 18

0:01:55 > 0:01:57to 23 degrees across many areas,

0:01:57 > 0:02:01but central, Southern England,

0:02:01 > 0:02:0227 is possible.

0:02:02 > 0:02:03That area of high pressure exerts

0:02:03 > 0:02:05a bit more control as we go

0:02:05 > 0:02:06through Monday night into Tuesday.

0:02:06 > 0:02:08Winds are light in and around it,

0:02:08 > 0:02:09so this is the reason why

0:02:09 > 0:02:11we could see some mist and fog to begin the day.

0:02:11 > 0:02:12Most of that shifting,

0:02:12 > 0:02:14but developing onshore wind could

0:02:14 > 0:02:16bring in some low cloud and cooler conditions

0:02:16 > 0:02:18in Eastern Scotland and Northeast England.

0:02:18 > 0:02:20And look elsewhere, with some long, sunny spells,

0:02:20 > 0:02:22temperatures climbing once again,

0:02:22 > 0:02:23many mid to high 20s.

0:02:23 > 0:02:26That high pressure's still there in Scandinavia,

0:02:26 > 0:02:28bringing an Easterly influence on Wednesday,

0:02:28 > 0:02:29keeping this weather front at bay.

0:02:29 > 0:02:31Should stay to the west of Northern Ireland,

0:02:31 > 0:02:33but we might see cloud increase through the day.

0:02:33 > 0:02:35Elsewhere, morning mist and fog clears.

0:02:35 > 0:02:36Still cool in Eastern Scotland

0:02:36 > 0:02:38and the Northeast of England

0:02:38 > 0:02:40and temperatures continue to creep up,

0:02:40 > 0:02:41as will humidly levels

0:02:41 > 0:02:43across the Southeast of the country.

0:02:43 > 0:02:45It could be another sticky end to the week.

0:02:45 > 0:02:47This weather front tries to push in.

0:02:47 > 0:02:49There's a few heavy showers

0:02:49 > 0:02:50across Northern Ireland.

0:02:50 > 0:02:52But also, into Thursday,

0:02:52 > 0:02:54parts of Southern England and South Wales,

0:02:54 > 0:02:55this is where there's a chance

0:02:55 > 0:02:57of some isolated thunderstorms.

0:02:57 > 0:02:59But a lot of dry and bright weather

0:02:59 > 0:03:01elsewhere and it still stays warm.

0:03:01 > 0:03:02And this blocked pattern,

0:03:02 > 0:03:04with high pressure trying to

0:03:04 > 0:03:05push its way in from Scandinavia,

0:03:05 > 0:03:07low pressure either side,

0:03:07 > 0:03:09looks like it's going to be maintained

0:03:09 > 0:03:11between days six and ten of the forecast.

0:03:11 > 0:03:14That takes us all the way into the start of next week.

0:03:14 > 0:03:17So it does look like a lot of dry weather around,

0:03:17 > 0:03:19with that high pressure...

0:03:19 > 0:03:21We can still see that flow in from the East

0:03:21 > 0:03:24and that means it's still going to stay quite warm and

0:03:24 > 0:03:27still quite humid across some Southern and Eastern areas.

0:03:27 > 0:03:29I won't rule out the risk of one or two showers,

0:03:29 > 0:03:30but mostly some sunny spells.
