0:00:04 > 0:00:06Hello, thanks for tuning into our holiday weather.
0:00:06 > 0:00:09If you're travelling over the next day or so abroad, perhaps
0:00:09 > 0:00:13across Europe, this is the place to find out what the weather trends are.
0:00:13 > 0:00:15We're going to start with Europe for Friday
0:00:15 > 0:00:17and the South of Europe,
0:00:17 > 0:00:19the Mediterranean, is still looking very warm.
0:00:19 > 0:00:21Temperatures still very much like summer.
0:00:21 > 0:00:2530 degrees there in Crete, around about 30 or so in Athens.
0:00:25 > 0:00:27But you'll notice it's not completely dry.
0:00:27 > 0:00:31We are anticipating some rain showers across Greece and the Balkans too.
0:00:31 > 0:00:33Rome is pretty hot at 29 degrees.
0:00:33 > 0:00:35But if you are off to Madrid, Seville,
0:00:35 > 0:00:39down towards the South coast of Spain, it is still very hot.
0:00:39 > 0:00:43In many areas temperatures well in excess of 30 degrees Celsius.
0:00:43 > 0:00:45Now for some other places as we head into Sunday.
0:00:45 > 0:00:48For example in Toulouse temperatures up to around 30 degrees
0:00:48 > 0:00:51and plenty of sunshine. Naples is still looking warm too.
0:00:51 > 0:00:54But if you are going to France, not quite so warm.
0:00:54 > 0:00:56Of course we are entering the cooler season now, but still fairly
0:00:56 > 0:01:00pleasant - to the South of Bordeaux, up to around 26 degrees.
0:01:00 > 0:01:04But Paris is not all that different to what we are getting in the UK,
0:01:04 > 0:01:06around about the low 20s at best.
0:01:06 > 0:01:08Brussels also fairly fresh,
0:01:08 > 0:01:1120 Celsius with a chance of some showers.
0:01:11 > 0:01:14Some other places - Amsterdam not too dissimilar from Brussels,
0:01:14 > 0:01:17of course not a million miles away, with some sunny spells
0:01:17 > 0:01:20and temperatures hovering around about that 20 degree mark.
0:01:20 > 0:01:23Perhaps you are travelling across the pond towards the United States
0:01:23 > 0:01:26and there is some storminess on the way across the Great Lakes
0:01:26 > 0:01:29through the Mississippi Valley, generally the Midwest here,
0:01:29 > 0:01:32all the way across the Great Plains, some thunderstorms here.
0:01:32 > 0:01:33And very warm in New York recently -
0:01:33 > 0:01:36it has been quite hot with temperatures around 30 degrees
0:01:36 > 0:01:40and more of that to come through the course of Saturday and the weekend.
0:01:40 > 0:01:44But it will eventually freshen up by the time we get to the end of Sunday.
0:01:44 > 0:01:46In the Big Apple temperatures will drop down
0:01:46 > 0:01:48to around 24 degrees Celsius.
0:01:48 > 0:01:51Meanwhile, the other side of the US, for Los Angeles it's very hot.
0:01:51 > 0:01:55Baking hot in fact. Temperatures in the mid-30s.
0:01:55 > 0:01:58Seattle there a little bit fresher at around 25.
0:01:58 > 0:02:01If you are really going to the other side of the planet, Australia,
0:02:01 > 0:02:04of course it is a different season here, a lot fresher.
0:02:04 > 0:02:06In Sydney we are seeing some showers,
0:02:06 > 0:02:09but in the North and the tropics, and Darwin it is hot. It always is
0:02:09 > 0:02:11close to the equator.
0:02:11 > 0:02:15But this is what we are looking at for areas a bit further South,
0:02:15 > 0:02:17so Sydney only around about 17 Celsius with a few showers.
0:02:17 > 0:02:19Similar weather for Melbourne.
0:02:19 > 0:02:20For most of us in Melbourne
0:02:20 > 0:02:24and Adelaide the weather is looking fairly promising.
0:02:24 > 0:02:27And for the North and the South Island of New Zealand, around about
0:02:27 > 0:02:3012 degrees there in Christchurch, so a little on the cool side.
0:02:30 > 0:02:33Auckland a little warmer at about 16 or 17 degrees.
0:02:33 > 0:02:36And indeed into Monday the weather stays
0:02:36 > 0:02:40fresh across the South East of Australia.
0:02:40 > 0:02:42Back in the UK, the weekend for the UK, some sunshine,
0:02:42 > 0:02:45there will be a little bit of rain in Scotland,
0:02:45 > 0:02:47and also in Scotland it is going to turn fresher too.
0:02:47 > 0:02:51It's as a result of this weather front crossing Scotland
0:02:51 > 0:02:52and Northern Ireland,
0:02:52 > 0:02:55so it will bring a brief spell of rain to the Lowlands,
0:02:55 > 0:02:58but to the South of that, across most of England and Wales, a bit like
0:02:58 > 0:03:01Thursday, Friday isn't really going to bring an awful lot of change.
0:03:01 > 0:03:04It's the amount of cloud that we're going to get is very
0:03:04 > 0:03:05difficult to predict.
0:03:05 > 0:03:07For some of us it will be a
0:03:07 > 0:03:09bright day with some sunshine poking through.
0:03:09 > 0:03:11Other areas will be a bit more cloudy.
0:03:11 > 0:03:14But the real rainfall is going to fall across Northern Ireland
0:03:14 > 0:03:17and the Lowlands of Scotland.
0:03:17 > 0:03:20However later in the day on Friday it is going to brighten
0:03:20 > 0:03:23up across the Western Isles and here in the Highlands too we will
0:03:23 > 0:03:27get some sunshine with temperatures of around 16 in Inverness.
0:03:27 > 0:03:30And back into England and across most of the Midlands and East Anglia
0:03:30 > 0:03:33it's looking dry apart from the odd little pesky shower,
0:03:33 > 0:03:36maybe some thicker cloud, but on balance it's not such a bad day
0:03:36 > 0:03:37with temperatures getting up
0:03:37 > 0:03:39to around 20 or 21 degrees Celsius.
0:03:39 > 0:03:42On Saturday the weather fronts from Scotland will move a little
0:03:42 > 0:03:45bit further South, so maybe a little bit more cloud
0:03:45 > 0:03:47and rain along some of these Eastern counties.
0:03:47 > 0:03:50Also through Sunday we're expecting one of these weather fronts
0:03:50 > 0:03:53to return to Scotland and bring some rain to the North,
0:03:53 > 0:03:55in places like Moray and Aberdeenshire,
0:03:55 > 0:03:57whereas once again in the South for England and Wales
0:03:57 > 0:04:00and actually across Northern Ireland too it's looking dry. Bye.
