:00:18. > :00:20.been found in a pit near the West Bank city of Hebron.
:00:21. > :00:25.The teenagers had been hitch-hiking in the occupied West Bank.
:00:26. > :00:30.The Israeli army has now sealed off the Palestinian town of Halhul.
:00:31. > :00:33.Iraqi forces say they are gaining ground in their efforts continue to
:00:34. > :00:36.retake the northern city of Tikrit from the ISIS-led rebels.
:00:37. > :00:38.Battles rage on in Iraq as government forces try to push
:00:39. > :00:41.back Jihadi militants - who've declared their own Islamic state
:00:42. > :00:48.The veteran television presenter Rolf Harris has been found guilty
:00:49. > :00:52.And Oscar Pistorius leaves court after the resumption
:00:53. > :01:00.A report concluded he didn?t have a mental disorder when he killed
:01:01. > :01:06.And France are through to the quarter finals of the World Cup
:01:07. > :01:29.Hello and welcome. We start with some breaking news.
:01:30. > :01:32.A spokesman for the Israeli Defence Forces has confirmed reports in the
:01:33. > :01:36.past hour that the bodies of three Israeli teenagers who went missing
:01:37. > :01:40.more than two weeks ago have been found in a pit near the West Bank
:01:41. > :01:44.city of Hebron. The Israeli Cabinet has been meeting in emergency
:01:45. > :01:50.session and the army has sealed off the Palestinian town of Halhul.
:01:51. > :01:53.Tensions are high and there've already been reports of clashes
:01:54. > :01:59.between Israeli forces and Palestinians.
:02:00. > :02:02.The Israeli military has set up blockades and closed down whole
:02:03. > :02:05.areas around Halhul, a Palestinian town next to Hebron, just a few
:02:06. > :02:07.miles from where the missing teenagers were last seen. The
:02:08. > :02:10.turnoff for Halhul is off Route 60, the busy road used by settlers where
:02:11. > :02:19.the young Israelis were hitch-hiking.
:02:20. > :02:27.These are live pictures that we have got coming in now. This is the
:02:28. > :02:31.scene, lots of security out in force after the Israeli defence forces
:02:32. > :02:36.have confirmed that in the last 30 minutes, the bodies of those three
:02:37. > :02:44.Israeli teenagers have been found in a pit in that West Bank city of
:02:45. > :02:49.Hebron. This has been a huge matter that the Israeli police have been
:02:50. > :02:54.keeping a great healer focus and attention on. The Israeli
:02:55. > :02:59.government, the official view from them is that it is how mass that are
:03:00. > :03:05.responsible for this, but they have denied any involvement in this
:03:06. > :03:09.kidnapping, and it would now seem, the subsequent deaths of the three
:03:10. > :03:13.Israeli teenagers. We will bring you more on this story live from the
:03:14. > :03:15.region as soon as we can, but in the meantime, letters continued with
:03:16. > :03:23.another major story today. That's the message from Iraqi forces
:03:24. > :03:26.as they battle Jihadist-led Sunni Tikrit,
:03:27. > :03:32.the hometown of Saddam Hussein, it's only 200km from the capital
:03:33. > :03:35.Baghdad and the Iraqi military is trying to regain ground it has lost
:03:36. > :03:38.to the militant group ISIS. The latest bout of clashes come
:03:39. > :03:40.as ISIS declares the creation of an Islamic state, in the territory
:03:41. > :03:44.it says it controls, stretching from Diyala Province in eastern Iraq
:03:45. > :04:03.to Aleppo in northern Syria. We have the latest now from Baghdad.
:04:04. > :04:07.The start of Ramadan, and for the Sunni militants, a gesture of
:04:08. > :04:14.defiance, a decoration for independence, rebranding themselves
:04:15. > :04:19.as a new Islamic State. This is the promise of God, a spokesperson says,
:04:20. > :04:26.from the mouth of the profit, orders are being replaced by a caliphate,
:04:27. > :04:31.God willing. Wild celebrations in this Syrian town under ISIS control
:04:32. > :04:37.for the past year. And close to Aleppo, the fighters pledge
:04:38. > :04:41.allegiance to the new Caliph, the elusive ISIS leader. They believe
:04:42. > :04:46.they have upset the entire order of the modern Middle East. 11 years ago
:04:47. > :04:50.in this very square, Saddam Hussein?s statue was knocked off
:04:51. > :04:54.that pedestal by an invading army. ISIS believes that they have done
:04:55. > :04:59.something just as dramatic, and needless to say, there has been no
:05:00. > :05:07.mention on Iraqi state television, but thanks to Iraqi state TV, it is
:05:08. > :05:15.reverberating across the Middle East. It has served them very well
:05:16. > :05:20.in recruiting people to support their jihad drive. Where are they in
:05:21. > :05:25.Iraq? They are gradually increasing their grip on northern and western
:05:26. > :05:29.areas. They have already taking control of the Lodz, and recently,
:05:30. > :05:35.Mosul and Tikrit, the government is trying take back. Their Islamic
:05:36. > :05:42.State now travels across to Aleppo and across to an Iraqi province.
:05:43. > :05:50.They are old orders in their path. In this video, a fighter, apparently
:05:51. > :05:55.from Chile, he takes viewers on a guided tour of a border post
:05:56. > :06:01.abandoned by the Iraqi army. The message is clear. This is the map of
:06:02. > :06:08.the border, this is a sham. It is now one country. All around the
:06:09. > :06:13.edges of the new Celtic did Islamic State, refugees do all that they can
:06:14. > :06:20.to survive in the brutal height of summer. -- around the edges of the
:06:21. > :06:26.newly setup Islamic State. Tensions are rising the time.
:06:27. > :06:30.We will return to that story a little bit later on. In the
:06:31. > :06:34.meantime, let us return to the top story, News in the last half hour
:06:35. > :06:37.that the Israeli defence forces say the bodies of three teenagers,
:06:38. > :06:43.Israeli teenagers that have been missing, they have been found in a
:06:44. > :06:49.pit near Hebron. Our correspondent as injuries along, tell us what we
:06:50. > :06:54.know about this so far? Just a brief statement has come through from the
:06:55. > :06:57.Israeli military, they have said that three bodies were located, its
:06:58. > :07:01.name is the three missing Israeli teenagers that they have been
:07:02. > :07:05.searching for over the last two weeks, and it says that they were
:07:06. > :07:11.found in an area to the north-west of Hebron. Earlier, we heard the
:07:12. > :07:16.crash is between Israeli soldiers and Palestinians in the village of
:07:17. > :07:22.Halhul, that is right next to Hebron. It is just a few amateurs
:07:23. > :07:25.from the Israelis were seen. While the military surge has gone into
:07:26. > :07:31.towns and cities, Palestinian areas across the West Bank, really, the
:07:32. > :07:36.search has still been concentrated very much on this large city in the
:07:37. > :07:41.southern West Bank, the city of Hebron. We know that the Israeli
:07:42. > :07:47.security cabinet is meeting very soon, so we're expecting further
:07:48. > :07:51.details after that. In the meantime, we're being told by the Israeli
:07:52. > :07:56.military that they are carrying out frantic examinations of these bodies
:07:57. > :08:00.and that indeed, the families of these three teenagers have been
:08:01. > :08:06.notified that they are dead. Since the teenagers went missing, Israel,
:08:07. > :08:10.the authorities, they have conducted intensive searches for them,
:08:11. > :08:14.door-to-door searches, that kind of thing, and they had accused others
:08:15. > :08:27.of being behind the kidnappings and their death. They had consistently
:08:28. > :08:32.accused Hamas of being behind these kidnappings, a sworn enemy of
:08:33. > :08:36.Israel, and they have carried out kidnappings before, but leaders of
:08:37. > :08:40.Hamas said they had no information on this, but they did praise whoever
:08:41. > :08:47.was behind the teenagers disappearance. There were two
:08:48. > :08:52.suspects that were named by the Israelis as being their main
:08:53. > :08:57.suspects. To this operation, it is happening in the West Bank, this
:08:58. > :09:02.military surge, it had huge political imprecations. More than
:09:03. > :09:07.400 Palestinians have been arrested during this operation. Many of them
:09:08. > :09:11.are members of Hamas, and there had been five young Palestinians that
:09:12. > :09:18.had been shot and killed by Israeli troops. The consequences of the
:09:19. > :09:24.deaths of these three teenagers, both in terms of the political
:09:25. > :09:28.impact that it may have on that issue between Hamas and the Fatah
:09:29. > :09:33.amongst the Palestinians, but also the attitude of the Israeli
:09:34. > :09:40.government to this Palestinian garment of national unity, it would
:09:41. > :09:45.be quite, quite significant? , you are right. It comes two monster
:09:46. > :09:51.stuck to the peace talks between Israel and the Palestinians broke
:09:52. > :09:56.down. -- it comes two months. There has been a reconciliation agreement
:09:57. > :10:00.that was signed between the two main Palestinian factions, Hamas and
:10:01. > :10:08.fatter, that is headed by Mahmud Abbas Khan and in the last few
:10:09. > :10:12.weeks, since the new unity, a technocrat government was set up,
:10:13. > :10:17.and the Israeli prime minister has called for Mr Urbas to get rid of
:10:18. > :10:23.the new unity cabinet and really, too, and say that this was an
:10:24. > :10:30.obstacle to war as any renewal of talks with the Israelis, and we have
:10:31. > :10:32.had no developments on that. The Palestinians have continued with the
:10:33. > :10:37.unity cabinet saying that they will not give in to pressure, but there
:10:38. > :10:41.has been lots of personal pressure on the president. He condemned what
:10:42. > :10:45.he called the kidnapping of the young Israelis, but there have
:10:46. > :10:49.actually been protests by Palestinians against him, because
:10:50. > :10:54.his security forces have been trying to help with the search operations
:10:55. > :10:59.to try and find the missing teenagers. Thank you. Our
:11:00. > :11:07.correspondent injuries and unfair. Let us return to our other story,
:11:08. > :11:12.the battles between the ISIS led rebels in Iraq, and the Iraqi
:11:13. > :11:24.army?s attempt to try and regain ground that the jihad as have gained
:11:25. > :11:30.in this past couple of weeks. Can you tell us what we know about that
:11:31. > :11:36.battle by Iraqi forces to try and regain the Creed, the hometown of
:11:37. > :11:45.the late Saddam Hussein? -- regain the town of Tikrit. It is the first
:11:46. > :11:51.major counteroffensive by the Iraqi troops to retake a major city, the
:11:52. > :11:56.city of Tikrit, the hometown of the former Iraqi president, Saddam
:11:57. > :12:01.Hussein. They are hoping that this might be the launch pad for them to
:12:02. > :12:07.push back against the fighters of the Islamic State of Iraq and
:12:08. > :12:09.Syria, who of course, made significant advantages and
:12:10. > :12:16.advantages and advances and occupied major cities in the last week. There
:12:17. > :12:20.has been no significant advance for the Iraqi troops so far into the
:12:21. > :12:25.town of Tikrit, the reports from anti-government, local sources,
:12:26. > :12:28.saying that the insurgents are pushing back while the government
:12:29. > :12:32.statement saying that they are actually in control, and this is
:12:33. > :12:40.actually a multi-faith operation. So, as we have said, the second day
:12:41. > :12:46.is over in this ongoing operation in the town of Tikrit. Meanwhile, ISIS
:12:47. > :12:49.have declared an Islamic state in parts of Iraq and Syria that they
:12:50. > :12:57.say that they are controlling and have made their leader the new
:12:58. > :13:01.Caliph? That is correct. This was condemned, hobbies he condemned by
:13:02. > :13:06.the Iraqi government which is now saying that ISIS is clearly a threat
:13:07. > :13:11.to Iraq and other countries. -- this is no condemned. They want to see
:13:12. > :13:15.how the local Sunni communities in Iraq and Syria will deal with this
:13:16. > :13:21.declaration, will they recognise that it will not be easy? Well other
:13:22. > :13:31.Sunni organisations recognise that ISIS is the ultimate ruler of those
:13:32. > :13:37.areas? Thank you very much indeed. Amid the uncertainty of those
:13:38. > :13:41.battles, one thing is clear, there will be death and suffering during
:13:42. > :13:46.this conflict. Apart from the loss of life, archaeologists and
:13:47. > :13:49.historians are also worried that the historical monuments and artefacts
:13:50. > :13:54.in Iraq are in danger of becoming a casualty of this conflict. To talk
:13:55. > :14:00.about this, live from Leeds in the North of England, the executive
:14:01. > :14:04.director and founder of Iraq Heritage, firstly, what is there of
:14:05. > :14:11.historical significance in these areas of conflict? Hello, firstly,
:14:12. > :14:19.ISIS have taken over Mosul and the antiquities Ridge province in the
:14:20. > :14:24.area. At the moment, ISIS have declared that they will destroy a
:14:25. > :14:31.the monuments, they will destroy graves, shrines, any thing that will
:14:32. > :14:38.go in place or in front of their extremist Islamic beliefs. Secondly,
:14:39. > :14:43.we have the museum in Mosul that has been locked up by themselves, and
:14:44. > :14:48.they are still awaiting the ruling from the Islamic leaders to see if
:14:49. > :14:59.they will destroy or allowed these statues and monuments to stay in
:15:00. > :15:07.existence. We have seen this before with Islamist militants in Mali. Is
:15:08. > :15:18.he thinking that they do not want to see any remnants of Iraq's
:15:19. > :15:26.idolatrous past? It is the fact that it is finance for them. Groups are
:15:27. > :15:33.aiming to prevent, by working together with organisations and the
:15:34. > :15:39.Iraqi people, to prevent our heritage and monuments from being
:15:40. > :15:50.exported to tacky, Iran and other countries -- Turkey. UNESCO, from
:15:51. > :15:55.its headquarters in Paris, has condemned any such move and has
:15:56. > :16:04.appealed for steps to ensure the safety of what is a UNESCO world
:16:05. > :16:17.Heritage site. Two sites have been taken and are now under the power of
:16:18. > :16:21.ISIS. All that can happen now is for organisations to work together
:16:22. > :16:26.regardless of belief and get the cradle of civilisation a better
:16:27. > :16:32.future. Thank you for speaking to us about fears about the loss of
:16:33. > :16:37.Iraq's Heritage sites, and in fact the United States has said the
:16:38. > :16:42.declaration by the militants of an Islamic caliphate has no meaning.
:16:43. > :16:45.That is the State Department spokesperson.
:16:46. > :16:47.The veteran entertainer Rolf Harris has been found guilty of 12 charges
:16:48. > :16:50.of indecent assault against four girls between the 1960s and 1980s.
:16:51. > :16:52.The jury at a court in London had been deliberating
:16:53. > :16:57.One of the victims was a childhood friend of his daughter.
:16:58. > :16:59.During Rolf Harris's seven-week trial, prosecutors portrayed
:17:00. > :17:01.the 84-year-old as a Jekyll and Hyde character with
:17:02. > :17:24.Amidst the bedlam as a Rolf Harris left court, it was hard to fathom.
:17:25. > :17:31.Part of our childhood for 60 years and now this. Predatory,
:17:32. > :17:38.opportunistic, not the cuddly grandfather type that people
:17:39. > :17:43.thought. I do not know how he lives his life day-to-day and I do not
:17:44. > :17:47.know how he sleeps at night. His gaze was fixed, the only sign of a
:17:48. > :17:54.motion a slight reddening and a hint of a tremble as the verdicts were
:17:55. > :17:57.read out. A children's and 13 are found guilty of sexually abusing
:17:58. > :18:05.children in the heart of this case goes back to the 1970s. At the time
:18:06. > :18:10.he lived in South London, years later, a woman came forward saying
:18:11. > :18:15.during those years Rolf Harris sexually assaulted her repeatedly.
:18:16. > :18:19.She had been a friend of his daughter and he had known her ever
:18:20. > :18:28.since she was a little girl and the abuse began when she was 13 years
:18:29. > :18:32.old. It was back in the late 1960s when his daughter became friends
:18:33. > :18:38.with the girl. It was this letter written to her father that was proof
:18:39. > :18:44.of our relationship. He said she was -- he was sickened by his behaviour
:18:45. > :18:48.towards her. She was told the BBC she was just glad it was over. This
:18:49. > :18:57.was a man who fronted the campaign about child abuse, about what was
:18:58. > :19:00.and what was not acceptable. He went on television to promote the
:19:01. > :19:07.campaign but just weeks before that he had met a 15-year-old girl in a
:19:08. > :19:15.pub. 20 years later she spoke out on Australian television. I was
:19:16. > :19:21.absolutely petrified and I wanted to scream but I did not. I knew that
:19:22. > :19:26.what he had done was wrong and I was embarrassed, but I thought, I did
:19:27. > :19:32.not want to tell anybody that he touched me. There was a pattern.
:19:33. > :19:37.Women have come forward across Britain and the world. One woman
:19:38. > :19:43.said she was seven when she was assaulted asking for an autograph.
:19:44. > :19:48.In Cambridge, a TV show in the 1970s, he denied even setting foot
:19:49. > :20:01.in Cambridge and then this footage emerged. The list goes on, Malta,
:20:02. > :20:06.New Zealand, Australia, one person said they had a name for him, the
:20:07. > :20:15.octopus. Others are now coming forward. This, a BBC reporter. He
:20:16. > :20:22.grabbed my face in his hands like that and told my face towards them
:20:23. > :20:28.and forced his tongue into my mouth. Fame insulated him from suspicion.
:20:29. > :20:32.Each victim described a similar pattern of behaviour unbeknown to
:20:33. > :20:39.the others, that the man acting without fear the consequences. A TV
:20:40. > :20:44.star since the 1950s but it seems we only saw the public Rolf Harris. A
:20:45. > :20:50.little bit of childhood sheared innocence is gone. This is the
:20:51. > :21:01.police mugshot of a man tonight facing prison. Let's go back to our
:21:02. > :21:09.top story and the news in the past though from Israeli defence forces
:21:10. > :21:21.that the bodies of three Israeli teenagers missing for a week have
:21:22. > :21:26.been found in a pet near Hebron. -- pit. We can see the scene behind
:21:27. > :21:33.you. As you can imagine, there is a huge security operation underway and
:21:34. > :21:39.the security forces have it sealed off and then the darkness, and
:21:40. > :21:44.special, delicate search is going on far evidence not just us to Foley
:21:45. > :21:51.died but when they died, the cause may have been missing for more than
:21:52. > :21:55.two weeks. We are still piecing together what we can of what
:21:56. > :22:01.happened today from the limited amount we're being told the moment.
:22:02. > :22:06.It is a pretty tense scene and across is people will be united in
:22:07. > :22:16.grief as they had been united in hope. This just ahead of me in the
:22:17. > :22:20.darkness, there's a small protest by right-wing Israelis beginning to
:22:21. > :22:27.gather because they will be huge anger as well as grief at this
:22:28. > :22:33.outcome. Indeed, and apart from the operation to find out more about the
:22:34. > :22:36.circumstances, there will also be security operations to try to ensure
:22:37. > :22:46.the tension does not get out of hand. Of course. The last two and a
:22:47. > :22:50.half weeks have been very tense and defence forces have mounted huge
:22:51. > :22:57.security suites in Palestinian areas looking for evidence, looking of
:22:58. > :23:03.course for the three boys. There have been hundreds of arrests and
:23:04. > :23:08.deaths or palate is that Palestinians who came to protest.
:23:09. > :23:15.Tensions have been ratcheting up and this is the news of the Israeli
:23:16. > :23:19.government, what they feared. It was never likely there would be a good
:23:20. > :23:25.outcome and Israel was facing either the hostage crisis or the better
:23:26. > :23:31.news on the three boys had met their death. Tonight, they have, but that
:23:32. > :23:45.is really for now all we know for sure.
:23:46. > :23:53.The disgraced Uruguay striker Luis Suarez has apologised for the bike
:23:54. > :23:59.that saw him expelled from the World Cup. In a statement he said, I
:24:00. > :24:05.apologise to him and the entire football family. He goes on to admit
:24:06. > :24:09.the Italian had suffered the physical result of the bike and
:24:10. > :24:11.finishes by saying, I voted the public they will never again be
:24:12. > :24:13.another incident like it. It seems to be Europe versus Africa
:24:14. > :24:16.in the World Cup today. It is France versus Nigeria
:24:17. > :24:28.and Germany versus Algeria. Something of a grudge match later
:24:29. > :24:30.on. The man following all developments
:24:31. > :24:44.for us is Peter Okwoche. Tell us what the results are, in
:24:45. > :24:51.case you do not want to spoil the fun for anyone not watching! The
:24:52. > :24:59.Nigerian team have been knocked out of this tournament, beaten 2-0 by
:25:00. > :25:05.the French national team. A great game to watch, end to end stuff. The
:25:06. > :25:11.Nigerians came strongly in the first-half but fizzled out and
:25:12. > :25:16.conceded late goal in the second half and then won a minute before
