:00:00. > :00:00.Hello, I'm Karin Giannone with BBC World News.

:00:07. > :00:08.His controversial views have set the US republican presidential

:00:09. > :00:19.discussing whether he should be banned from the UK.

:00:20. > :00:22.The world of tennis is rocked by a BBC report into allegations

:00:23. > :00:27.World number one Novak Djokovic reveals he rejected

:00:28. > :00:38.an approach to lose a match - and condemned potential cheats.

:00:39. > :00:43.Somebody may cause an opportunity, I call it... Ronnie, it is a crime in

:00:44. > :00:48.sport. The Paris attacks investigation:

:00:49. > :00:50.Morocco arrests a Belgian national it says is linked to

:00:51. > :01:01.the men responsible. The transformation from where I was

:01:02. > :01:04.a year ago, not able to move from bed and being fed from a spoon...

:01:05. > :01:07.And we hear about the remarkable improvement to this man's life

:01:08. > :01:18.after a new treatment for multiple sclerosis.

:01:19. > :01:23.He's caused controversy in the US with his comments about Mexicans,

:01:24. > :01:29.Now some politicians here in the UK are calling for US Republican

:01:30. > :01:35.presidential candidate Donald Trump to be banned from Britain.

:01:36. > :01:42.from the Grand Committee Room of the Palace of Westminster.

:01:43. > :01:49.MPs have been discussing this now for around two and a half hours.

:01:50. > :01:52.Ahead of the debate, one of Trump's companies in Scotland

:01:53. > :01:54.said a ban like this could mean abandoning plans to invest

:01:55. > :01:56.?700 million - that's a billion dollars.

:01:57. > :01:59.They said "For the UK to consider banning someone who made a statement

:02:00. > :02:01.in America, about American borders during a US election

:02:02. > :02:07.Westminster is creating a dangerous precedent on this issue

:02:08. > :02:09.and is sending a terrible message to the world.

:02:10. > :02:12.Well, let's listen to some of what has been said in parliament

:02:13. > :02:23.A man who is interviewing for the most important job in the world, his

:02:24. > :02:30.words are not comical, his words are not funny, his words are poisonous.

:02:31. > :02:35.They risk inflaming tensions between communities. Let me make one thing

:02:36. > :02:38.clear, we had legislation in this country to make sure we do not let

:02:39. > :02:49.people and who are not conducive to the public good. If, God forbid, the

:02:50. > :02:55.public went ahead with this, it would only play into Donald Trump's

:02:56. > :03:02.hands. He lavishes attention by saying controversial things.

:03:03. > :03:06.And far from the debate in the UK - Donald Trump has been busy

:03:07. > :03:07.on the campaign trail - visiting Liberty University

:03:08. > :03:09.in Lynchburg, Virginia trying to drum up support.

:03:10. > :03:22.I am wondering if he is overly concerned with what is happening

:03:23. > :03:27.here at Westminster. Any word? Not remain in particular. During his

:03:28. > :03:33.speech here, he did not actually mention either the British

:03:34. > :03:37.Parliamentary debate on the call for a ban from him on Muslims entering

:03:38. > :03:43.the country, that is what it was meant to be about. They are trying

:03:44. > :03:48.to get support for the vote so he quoted from the Bible, spoke about

:03:49. > :03:54.the war on Christmas and how the country is too politically correct.

:03:55. > :03:59.He said about the debate and an sign saying Merry Christmas. He spoke

:04:00. > :04:03.about his view on immigration and refugees, that America did not know

:04:04. > :04:07.who people were, they should not be let in. He said the crime rates are

:04:08. > :04:13.suffering due to immigration. He did not reference Muslims specifically.

:04:14. > :04:16.We did get a comment from the Democratic committee who are taking

:04:17. > :04:21.full advantage of the situation, they said it was shameful that this

:04:22. > :04:25.debate was happening and that the rhetoric from other candidates had

:04:26. > :04:28.caused this international incident and were barely anything national

:04:29. > :04:33.partners and they show how right-wing the Republic candidates

:04:34. > :04:36.had become. What his supporters had to say to the fact that he has been

:04:37. > :04:43.spoken about any terms across the pond? It was interesting here

:04:44. > :04:47.because it wasn't a typical supporter crowd. Because it was a

:04:48. > :04:51.university, most of the attendees were students and they had to attend

:04:52. > :04:55.this kind of event. When I chatted with them, a lot of them said they

:04:56. > :05:01.did not agree with his calls for a ban on Muslims. Some of them said it

:05:02. > :05:06.was maybe even hate speech. They tended to focus on the right to free

:05:07. > :05:12.speech, saying that Donald Tom should be allied to say what he

:05:13. > :05:17.wants to say and that the British parliament could debate it and they

:05:18. > :05:21.should be argued that. I did because some Donald Trump supporters and

:05:22. > :05:30.they just thought it would be ridiculous. One of them said, " do

:05:31. > :05:35.they not want Mr Trump's investment? " And that they would be treating

:05:36. > :05:37.him like he wants to treat Muslims. They said it would not be right

:05:38. > :05:38.there. Barbara,
