:00:07. > :00:08.I'm Alice Baxter with BBC World News.

:00:09. > :00:11.A large explosion rocks the Turkish capital,

:00:12. > :00:16.The target appears to have been a bus carrying soldiers.

:00:17. > :00:19.Reports say several people have been killed and many more injured.

:00:20. > :00:23.Aid convoys enter a town outside Damascus, but the deal

:00:24. > :00:29.with the Syrian government doesn't include the city of Aleppo.

:00:30. > :00:32.Should Apple break into the phone of a killer?

:00:33. > :00:36.The FBI say yes, the tech giant says it breaches privacy

:00:37. > :01:17.We start with some breaking news - reports from the Turkish capital,

:01:18. > :01:20.Ankara, say 18 people have been killed and many injured in a large

:01:21. > :03:19.These are the latest pictures from the scene of the blast.

:03:20. > :03:29.They resume to armed campaign against the Government last year.

:03:30. > :03:33.There have been also responsibility from the Islamic State group which

:03:34. > :03:40.has carried out recent attacks it appears in Istanbul there were 11

:03:41. > :03:45.German tourists killed by a suicide bomber last month. Back in October

:03:46. > :03:53.on Turkish soil outside the really station in and Canada. More than 100

:03:54. > :04:04.people killed and 500 people injured. --

:04:05. > :04:06.entered a besieged suburb of the Syrian capital,

:04:07. > :04:10.Syrian state media say 35 trucks have also entered the rebel-held

:04:11. > :04:13.These are the latest pictures of the aid trucks arriving

:04:14. > :04:14.on the outskirts of the town which lies just south

:04:15. > :04:24.It's one of five locations where the United Nations

:04:25. > :04:26.is co-ordinating with the Syrian Red Crescent

:04:27. > :04:29.But it doesn't include the country's biggest city,

:04:30. > :04:32.Aleppo, divided between opposing groups.

:04:33. > :06:58.It's now almost completely surrounded by the Syrian military.

:06:59. > :07:07.Earlier I spoke to a correspondent and asked how bad the situation is

:07:08. > :07:12.in the affected areas. Several areas have been identified by the United

:07:13. > :07:18.Nations as in desperate need of aid. The Syrian Government has agreed to

:07:19. > :07:30.send it to five of these areas. One of these areas is in the East of

:07:31. > :07:34.cilia which is partly controlled by IS forces so what will be a

:07:35. > :07:41.challenge to deliver aid there. At this stage they are concentrating on

:07:42. > :07:49.the suburbs of Damascus. Also there are two areas in the north. These

:07:50. > :07:56.are the areas that have been receiving some aid. The Syrian media

:07:57. > :08:01.spoke about 35 trucks entering an area this morning. 100 more trucks

:08:02. > :08:06.are waiting to be sent to the area. It is too early to verify how much

:08:07. > :08:08.of this aid has actually reached the target that we should be able to

:08:09. > :08:21.know in the coming few days. The Syrian government under huge

:08:22. > :08:29.pressure to deliver. Level, that almost totally destroyed is not

:08:30. > :08:35.among them. Aleppo is different category. There has been heavy

:08:36. > :08:39.fighting going on, until last week there were over 50,000 refugees

:08:40. > :08:45.massing on the border with heavy fighting going on between the

:08:46. > :08:50.government forces and rebels in the area. These groups have also been

:08:51. > :08:55.the subject of heavy air bombardment from the Turkish air force as well

:08:56. > :08:59.as the Russian air force is so Aleppo at the moment is an extremely

:09:00. > :09:03.dangerous areas. That was our reporter from BBC Arabic talking to

:09:04. > :09:09.be a little earlier. When you go to pick up your morning

:09:10. > :09:12.coffee or to drink your favourite chai latte, do you think that maybe

:09:13. > :09:15.those drinks could contain double A campaign group here in the UK,

:09:16. > :09:22.Action On Sugar, analysed 131 hot drinks and found a third contained

:09:23. > :09:25.at least as much sugar as a can of Pepsi or Coca-Cola,

:09:26. > :09:27.which contains nine teaspoons. Our Health Correspondent,

:09:28. > :09:29.Sophie Hutchinson, has more. A daily routine or

:09:30. > :09:32.an occasional treat. Today's research suggests some hot

:09:33. > :09:35.drinks from high street cafes should The report by Action on Sugar looked

:09:36. > :09:43.at over 100 drinks from nine It found 98% had excessive

:09:44. > :09:49.levels of sugar, described It analysed 131 of them from

:09:50. > :10:04.Britain's biggest chains. Just to put it into context,

:10:05. > :10:07.this can of Coca-Cola contains nine But compare that to this caramel

:10:08. > :10:10.latte, which contains 13 This chai latte contains

:10:11. > :10:13.20 teaspoons of sugar. The worst offender is this

:10:14. > :10:30.hot mulled fruit drink. Back out on the streets there was

:10:31. > :10:41.some surprise that the coffee we bought had twice as much sugar as a

:10:42. > :10:45.can of cola. Two times, good heavens! Wow, that does surprise me

:10:46. > :10:49.that it's double, that is a hell of the lot. I do not order many things

:10:50. > :10:56.out of the further reason to be feared. Starbucks says it is

:10:57. > :11:01.committed to reducing sugar by 25% hike 2020 and already offers lighter

:11:02. > :11:07.options. Costa said it had already taken significant steps to reduce

:11:08. > :11:10.sugar content. But experts are concerned about the impact of these

:11:11. > :11:14.drinks on heart disease, dental health and obesity and insist people

:11:15. > :11:18.need much more help to make healthier choices. If we had proper

:11:19. > :11:22.calorie labelling on the drinks we consume out of home in the way we

:11:23. > :11:25.now see on candid the supermarket for example at least people could

:11:26. > :11:31.begin to make an informed choice. It is also a matter of portion size.

:11:32. > :11:34.The reason there is so much sugar in some of these drinks as they are

:11:35. > :11:38.ridiculously large and I think the time has come for us to think about

:11:39. > :11:42.having a cap on the portion size of some of these drinks. Treasure has

:11:43. > :11:46.been growing for the government to bring in a tax on sugary drinks

:11:47. > :11:51.after evidence from abroad it can reduce the amount that people buy.

:11:52. > :11:59.It is a much delayed obesity strategy which may finally be

:12:00. > :12:04.published in the next few weeks. Nobody look at some of the day

:12:05. > :12:12.Bosman other news for you. The United States has deployed fighter

:12:13. > :12:18.jets in a show of force against North Korea. It is to underline

:12:19. > :12:23.Washington was my commitment to the defence of South Korea. And

:12:24. > :12:29.Indymedia has bad access to tumbler, that is a blogging platform, the

:12:30. > :12:33.site had been used to distribute pornographic material and separately

:12:34. > :12:40.the Indonesian authorities are demanding instant message labs

:12:41. > :12:46.remove the orgies or face a ban. And the Guinness book of records says

:12:47. > :12:48.the right in Tower is the worlds most slender. It is just under four

:12:49. > :12:56.metres wide and over metres tall. The President of the European

:12:57. > :12:58.Council, Donald Tusk, has told EU leaders that he can't

:12:59. > :13:02.guarantee that a deal will be reached on reforms demanded

:13:03. > :13:04.by the British Prime Minister, On Thursday Donald Tusk will chair

:13:05. > :13:08.a crucial summit meeting in Brussels Poland and three other countries

:13:09. > :13:11.are reported to be still resisting welfare curbs while France

:13:12. > :13:26.is thought to be against financial Donald Tusk was asked by the BBC's

:13:27. > :13:30.Ben Wright how the negotiation was going. Today the UK are still a

:13:31. > :13:35.member of the European Union and I have the feeling that it will not

:13:36. > :13:38.change, tomorrow will stop are you confident you will get the deal

:13:39. > :13:52.tomorrow? I am sure you have no choice. Let's toss to our

:13:53. > :13:58.correspondence, Alex Forsyth. The rhetoric from most European leaders

:13:59. > :14:02.in from Donald Tusk, the president of the European Council use just

:14:03. > :14:06.the, they want a deal done. The UK does because it wants to get on with

:14:07. > :14:11.this referendum about whether it could stay on leave the EU. Other

:14:12. > :14:15.leaders have other issues they want to focus on, not least the migration

:14:16. > :14:18.crisis. They want to get this deal done after weeks and months of

:14:19. > :14:22.negotiation but there is no guarantee it will be finished. That

:14:23. > :14:27.is because they are still technical issues over which there is some

:14:28. > :14:31.disagreement and some big political differences, too. You mentioned the

:14:32. > :14:36.few, France has some concerns over regulations to users on countries

:14:37. > :14:39.and non-Eurozone countries. Other Eastern and Central European

:14:40. > :14:51.countries have flagged concerns over exactly how changes to welfare

:14:52. > :14:53.payments to migrant workers might be played out or imposed and those

:14:54. > :14:56.things will not be easily solved. Political will to try and get this

:14:57. > :14:59.deal done by Friday, by example, but not yet the way. Do you think this

:15:00. > :15:03.will be down to the wire in view of those sticking points you outweigh?

:15:04. > :15:07.There are two tracks to this, we are expecting in the next few hours and

:15:08. > :15:11.other draft document which will set out some of the proposed solutions

:15:12. > :15:15.to the reforms that David Cameron and the UK want to see and that will

:15:16. > :15:19.have some technical and legal minor changes from the one published a few

:15:20. > :15:23.weeks ago. It will be a team of lawyers and EU experts trying to

:15:24. > :15:26.thrash out those technical and legal issues and at the same time you have

:15:27. > :15:29.sat around the table B EU leaders trying to deal with those big

:15:30. > :15:34.political differences which still exist. We know they will talk about

:15:35. > :15:38.death at the first session tomorrow and there is pencilled in another

:15:39. > :15:41.session for Friday when the talks will continue. We do not know what

:15:42. > :15:47.the outcome of that will be. Donald Tusk has said there is no guarantee

:15:48. > :15:52.but it is better to try to reach a compromise. The momentum is behind

:15:53. > :15:56.these negotiations now and he makes a clear warning that unless this is

:15:57. > :16:00.resolved somehow the very unity of the EU is at stake. He will be

:16:01. > :16:04.working hard to try to do a deal but it may very well come down to the

:16:05. > :16:10.wire. Thank you, Alex Forsyth therefore I was in Brussels.

:16:11. > :16:13.Apple says it will challenge a court order that helps the US authorities

:16:14. > :16:14.access information on a mobile phone.

:16:15. > :16:17.The device belongs to San Bernadino killer Syed Rizwan Farook -

:16:18. > :16:19.who, with his wife, shot dead 14 people last December.

:16:20. > :16:21.The FBI says the phone contains crucial information

:16:22. > :16:24.Well, Apple CEO Tim Cook has released a statement saying

:16:25. > :16:28."The United States government has demanded that Apple take

:16:29. > :16:32."an unprecedented step which threatens the security

:16:33. > :16:39."We oppose this order, which has implications far

:16:40. > :16:42.This is part of a longstanding debate

:16:43. > :16:44.between America's Silicon Valley technology companies

:16:45. > :16:50.It generally sees the companies opposed to software with weakened

:16:51. > :16:53.security, in a bid to protect the privacy of customers.

:16:54. > :16:56.On the other side, the authorities warn that encryption software gives

:16:57. > :17:07.criminals a means to communicate undetected.

:17:08. > :17:18.Join amino from Washington is Greg who is advocating for digital

:17:19. > :17:22.piracy. Thanks for joining me on the show. I have no doubt that in this

:17:23. > :17:27.you come down on the side of Apple that I want to tell you that just in

:17:28. > :17:32.the last hour at the White House spokesman, Josh Ernest, and issued a

:17:33. > :17:34.statement pointing out the Department of Justice is asking the

:17:35. > :17:42.tech giant for access just to one single device. The government is

:17:43. > :17:46.asking Apple to Gallup malware, that is software that gets into the

:17:47. > :17:53.device that does not exist today. If the government gets its way it could

:17:54. > :17:58.ask Apple to develop malware to get the government into other iPhones,

:17:59. > :18:02.into computers that Apple makes and it did issue similar orders to other

:18:03. > :18:08.US tech companies to get access to dad that stored on their devices as

:18:09. > :18:13.well. This particular order may involve this particular device that

:18:14. > :18:18.it has implications for the security of all the devices that we use. In

:18:19. > :18:22.this White House statement the address exactly that point saying

:18:23. > :18:27.the government is not asking Apple to be design it roared up or create

:18:28. > :18:33.a new backboard to its product. This is the request and offending to a

:18:34. > :18:37.very specific person. The San Bernardino attacker, a well-known

:18:38. > :18:43.incident. Can you not see that perhaps in this instance it is just

:18:44. > :18:48.a request for access to a single phone and it is not perhaps a

:18:49. > :18:54.trickle-down effect? Simply we have a lot of sympathy for the victims of

:18:55. > :18:58.that terrible attack but the answer to that attack should not be to

:18:59. > :19:04.weaken the security of Apple devices. Once this, if this order

:19:05. > :19:08.stands, there will be other orders and there will be other orders

:19:09. > :19:11.covering other devices and the consequence of that will be that the

:19:12. > :19:16.malware that Apple is required to produce why those orders would

:19:17. > :19:23.eventually get out and would weaken the security of all of Apple 's

:19:24. > :19:27.devices and, as I said earlier, it is not just Apple we are concerned

:19:28. > :19:31.with, it is what this would mean for the makers of other devices and the

:19:32. > :19:36.security of those devices. It seems like every week there is a new that

:19:37. > :19:42.breach and eight new instance where instance that is personal and can

:19:43. > :19:48.cause damage gets out to the public or gets out to the bad guys.

:19:49. > :19:51.Encryption is the way we prevent that from happening. It is the way

:19:52. > :19:57.we prevent damage. You empathise at all with the F guide position on

:19:58. > :20:03.this? Of course, everyone wants justice to be served but the F B I

:20:04. > :20:08.have a lot of tools that it can use to get information that is relevant

:20:09. > :20:11.to this crime. In this case the perpetrator of the crime is already

:20:12. > :20:16.dead in maybe other people who are involved that the F guy wants to

:20:17. > :20:22.take a look at. It has the number of investigative tools that don't

:20:23. > :20:27.involve weakening the security of devices that it could use. Thank

:20:28. > :20:30.you, from the centre of democracy and technology, for joining me.

:20:31. > :20:36.Thank you. Pope Francis' last stop on his tour

:20:37. > :20:39.of Mexico is Ciudad Juarez He arrived in the last hour

:20:40. > :20:43.or so and is on his way to one Later in the evening Francis

:20:44. > :20:47.will give mass for 200,000 people. Ciudad Juarez is synonymous

:20:48. > :20:49.with illegal migration into the US and Francis is expected to speak

:20:50. > :21:08.about the plight of migrants. He enjoys important places to go.

:21:09. > :21:12.That is why it is one of them. It is at the border with the United States

:21:13. > :21:16.weedy lot of immigrants choose to go through to the United States. He is

:21:17. > :21:21.talking about mercy. This is the year of mercy in the words of Pope

:21:22. > :21:26.Francis and he is saying you have baby without Borders. The Germans

:21:27. > :21:30.how to work with each other. It is a message as well to the Mexicans,

:21:31. > :21:40.even if the Mexicans say the United states are not treating as fairly,

:21:41. > :21:43.they are accused of abusing a lot of Central Americans who go through

:21:44. > :21:47.Mexico to go to the United States. The messages lets be human to each

:21:48. > :21:52.other, it does not matter where you come from. Mental health is fast

:21:53. > :22:03.coming one of the great global in Jews of our time.

:22:04. > :22:13.Two women in our in the mine CDs have recorded their thoughts. Having

:22:14. > :22:17.mental illnesses like in controlled by a puppet master because it is

:22:18. > :22:23.just like having your own brain taken out and someone else's bid in

:22:24. > :22:27.for a few months. I decided to flog about it because I could not find

:22:28. > :22:32.any videos about exactly what I had gone through. -- chair. I have

:22:33. > :22:37.bipolar, gone through. -- chair. I have

:22:38. > :22:41.everyone has a different experience. For me part of it was my manic

:22:42. > :22:46.episode. Like you are normally but on an extreme episode. If you are

:22:47. > :22:48.episode. Like you are normally but upset you are really, really upset

:22:49. > :22:51.or if you're happy you are running around dancing and singing. It is

:22:52. > :23:00.kind of like all of your around dancing and singing. It is

:23:01. > :23:04.the psychiatric ward are very, very strange and very surreal. When I got

:23:05. > :23:08.there I was very confused because I did not know what was going on. I

:23:09. > :23:12.thought I was being watched and that I was on some sort of TV programme

:23:13. > :23:17.and that someone was playing a joke on me. I was in a very delusional

:23:18. > :23:21.state of mind, I was imagining things were happening that were not

:23:22. > :23:25.happening. I was imagining I was someone that I wasn't. You still

:23:26. > :23:33.have people dressing up for Halloween in psychiatric patients

:23:34. > :23:37.and using words like mental and psychotic and things. Opening up

:23:38. > :23:39.about it is really helpful for raking down stigmas and actually

:23:40. > :23:47.telling people what it's really like to have it. I've been making YouTube

:23:48. > :23:52.videos on and off for around four years now. The reason I do it is to

:23:53. > :23:57.show the honest nature of my illness and what my live with this illnesses

:23:58. > :24:01.like. I have done some weird things including harming myself quite

:24:02. > :24:08.severely to a life-threatening point. If I was to be completely

:24:09. > :24:13.well in my videos it would be an inaccurate or trail. I make myself

:24:14. > :24:18.do it and I try to be as honest as always. Schizoaffective disorder is

:24:19. > :24:22.being absolutely fine one day and then a weekly to just being in the

:24:23. > :24:27.grips of psychosis. Being so depressed that I'm contemplating

:24:28. > :24:32.suicide to one week later being absolutely fine again. I can hear

:24:33. > :24:37.voices in my head, it see things such as shadows or people, sometimes

:24:38. > :24:40.animals. I no longer know who I am, when I am, my beliefs and my

:24:41. > :24:46.connection with reality is just shattered. I thought it would be

:24:47. > :24:50.good to do about sectioning cause it is not something widely talked about

:24:51. > :24:54.because of, obviously, the stigma and things like that attached to it.

:24:55. > :24:58.Technology and the Internet and the way things are now had really help

:24:59. > :25:00.Technology and the Internet and the the conversation around mental

:25:01. > :25:00.health. People like me are able to upload the

:25:01. > :25:06.health. People like me are able to to spread awareness and information.

:25:07. > :25:11.I have had people message to say my to spread awareness and information.

:25:12. > :25:13.videos have wanted them to to spread awareness and information.

:25:14. > :25:16.from professionals. to spread awareness and information.

:25:17. > :25:20.feel fantastic. It was the sole reason I setup my channel and I did

:25:21. > :25:27.not even think I would achieve that saw it just my day.

:25:28. > :25:34.A quick reminder of our main news this hour. A government spokesman

:25:35. > :25:40.from Turkey has confirmed 28 people were killed in that explosion in

:25:41. > :25:44.Ankara. He also said 61 people were injured and the blast happened next

:25:45. > :25:48.to a passing military vehicle in an area host to the parliament and

:25:49. > :25:52.close to Turkey 's military headquarters. The Turkish Prime

:25:53. > :25:56.Minister has cancelled a trip to Brussels in response to the attack.

:25:57. > :26:00.If you would like to get in touch with me or some of the team you can

:26:01. > :26:05.do. We like you to get in touch on twitter. For now, hangs for

:26:06. > :26:12.watching. -- fight you for watching.
