:01:27. > :01:33.Belgian media is also suggesting that Abrini is possibly the "man

:01:54. > :01:57.He's been hunted since last November - Mohamed Abrini.

:01:58. > :02:00.Belgian police say he is dangerous and believe he was linked

:02:01. > :02:04.Mohamed Abrini, seen at a service station two days before

:02:05. > :02:10.The car he was driving, a black Renault Clio,

:02:11. > :02:13.was one of the vehicles he used to attack Paris.

:02:14. > :02:16.The man he was with at the time was Salah Abdeslam, another

:02:17. > :02:20.of the team that planned and carried out the carnage in Paris.

:02:21. > :02:23.Salah Abdeslam, Europe's most wanted man, was finally detained three

:02:24. > :02:27.weeks ago in the Molenbeek district of Brussels after also

:02:28. > :02:33.Today's arrest is thought to have taken place in nearby Anderlecht.

:02:34. > :02:35.Just yesterday, Belgian investigators released

:02:36. > :02:38.this new footage of the Brussels airport bombing.

:02:39. > :02:42.It showed the third attacker, the so-called Man in the Hat,

:02:43. > :02:45.who left a suitcase bomb and escape from the terminal, then

:02:46. > :02:50.travelled six miles on foot into Brussels before he vanished.

:02:51. > :02:53.It's been reported the new footage and the appeal for help to identify

:02:54. > :02:56.the Man in the Hat lead to new tip-off from the public

:02:57. > :03:01.which came just before today's new arrests.

:03:02. > :03:09.Let's go live to Brussels now, to our correspondent Gavin Lee.

:03:10. > :03:21.Gavin, a big development, F ended this man is also the man in the hat.

:03:22. > :03:24.Yes, what we have officially from the Belgian prosecutor as there have

:03:25. > :03:29.been several arrests today in relation to these two attacks at the

:03:30. > :03:38.airport and the metro station, two weeks ago. In the last hour or so,

:03:39. > :03:42.state television and French police are quoted as telling news agencies

:03:43. > :03:48.that this is indeed Mohamed Abrini. What do we know about him? He was

:03:49. > :03:52.seen as a bit part player in the Paris attacks. He was seen two days

:03:53. > :03:57.before the attacks. His car was used. He was seen with Salah

:03:58. > :04:06.Abdeslam am heading for Paris. We were given details about his past

:04:07. > :04:11.history. He had been to Syria. His brother was a former IS fighter in

:04:12. > :04:17.Syria. He was wanted by Belgian police as well. He has not been seen

:04:18. > :04:22.since. He has a connection to this missing man as well, this man still

:04:23. > :04:27.not yet identified, known simply as the man in the hat. We believe there

:04:28. > :04:32.is a relevance here to the images released yesterday by the federal

:04:33. > :04:38.prosecutor of CCTV images which ensure a more complete image of the

:04:39. > :04:42.man leaving the airport, with passengers trying to escape the

:04:43. > :04:45.scene. We see him go through the car park and then Watford ten colour

:04:46. > :04:52.matters for two hours and then we lose all trace of him. Local media

:04:53. > :04:55.say this is the man connected to Paris and Brussels as well. We are

:04:56. > :04:59.currently waiting on a press conference and will know the

:05:00. > :05:03.significance of that very soon. There were a number of arrests. What

:05:04. > :05:09.more do we know about the other people detained? The only details we

:05:10. > :05:15.have and this is coming from a French and Belgian media, including

:05:16. > :05:25.the state television, saying that other notable figures are somebody

:05:26. > :05:28.from Maelbeek Metro station, is suspected suicide bomber who has not

:05:29. > :05:33.been seen since. It is thought this is the man who may have bought some

:05:34. > :05:37.of the bags for the bombers to use. You might be able to see some

:05:38. > :05:42.footage which has emerged today of one of the raids. We are not sure

:05:43. > :05:49.who this is but this is amateur footage, close to Molenbeek. This is

:05:50. > :05:53.an undercover operation, police officers taking their man and

:05:54. > :05:58.bundling him into the back of a car. As always, thank you very much. Keep

:05:59. > :06:00.us up-to-date as and when we get more developments. Thank you.

:06:01. > :06:02.Pope Francis has called for the Catholic Church to recognise

:06:03. > :06:06.He says bishops and priests should be free to interpret doctrine

:06:07. > :06:10.in ways that suit their own cultures in their own countries -

:06:11. > :06:13.particularly in relation to marriage and divorce.

:06:14. > :06:20.Our religious affairs correspondent Caroline Wyatt reprts from Rome.

:06:21. > :06:23.The Catholic Church has often closed its doors on those living

:06:24. > :06:29.Today in Rome, Pope Francis sought to open it a little,

:06:30. > :06:32.issuing his guidance on how the Vatican should treat

:06:33. > :06:39.At a press conference here this morning, two of the Pope's leading

:06:40. > :06:43.cardinals revealed the contents of this keenly awaited document.

:06:44. > :06:45.It came after much debate and some very public

:06:46. > :06:51.Within the Pope's document on the family, the biggest change

:06:52. > :06:56.Pope Francis suggests priests seek solutions that are best suited

:06:57. > :07:01.He also wants more openness and a greater understanding

:07:02. > :07:04.of what the Church terms "irregular situations",

:07:05. > :07:09.But there is no change to the church's doctrine,

:07:10. > :07:15.nor its views on homosexuality or ban on contraception.

:07:16. > :07:17.So does this mean that those who are divorced and civilly

:07:18. > :07:22.remarried will now be welcomed back to take Communion?

:07:23. > :07:26.Those who want to be included in the life of the church,

:07:27. > :07:31.the life of faith in the church, they are welcome.

:07:32. > :07:35.The Pope often said let the doors of the church be

:07:36. > :07:43.And he says the same to everybody who is in a difficult situation.

:07:44. > :07:46.This document, over 250 pages long, is one of the most

:07:47. > :07:51.significant to emerge from the Vatican in many years.

:07:52. > :07:54.The title, On Love And The Family, is written in the distinctive voice

:07:55. > :07:58.of Pope Francis and will set the course for the way

:07:59. > :08:00.the Catholic Church deals with family life for many

:08:01. > :08:10.We first spoke to this family in 2014.

:08:11. > :08:12.They had high hopes this Pope would change the church's

:08:13. > :08:20.My first reaction reading it was that, you know,

:08:21. > :08:27.it was a little bit frustrating because there isn't a real change.

:08:28. > :08:29.In the end, though, this popular Pope has shown himself

:08:30. > :08:35.There is no radical reform here, as some had hoped, more a gentle

:08:36. > :08:39.signal that all families, however fractured,

:08:40. > :08:42.are welcome in his church and the doors are now open.

:08:43. > :08:50.Now a look at some of the day's other news.

:08:51. > :08:52.An American who was being held in Syria has been released

:08:53. > :08:55.by President Bashar al-Assad's Government.

:08:56. > :08:58.A US citizen had been released, according to the US

:08:59. > :09:02.State Department, but no further details were given.

:09:03. > :09:04.The Washington Post newspaper identifies the man

:09:05. > :09:07.as Kevin Patrick Dawes, a freelance photographer

:09:08. > :09:12.who travelled to Syria from Turkey in September 2012.

:09:13. > :09:15.Chinese police have arrested a man in connection with a video that

:09:16. > :09:19.appears to show a woman being assaulted in a Beijing hotel.

:09:20. > :09:22.It's had more than two billion views online.

:09:23. > :09:26.Police say they caught the 24-year-old in Henan province.

:09:27. > :09:34.The hotel's parent company has apologised for the incident.

:09:35. > :09:37.A former Scotland Yard police officer has been arrested in Lebanon

:09:38. > :09:40.on suspicion of attempting to seize two children at the centre

:09:41. > :09:45.Adam Whittington tried to take the children who were living

:09:46. > :09:49.with their father in Beirut to bring them back to their mother,

:09:50. > :09:53.It was all filmed by an Australian documentary film crew -

:09:54. > :09:57.all involved have been arrested by Lebanese police.

:09:58. > :10:01.Our Middle East correspondent Quentin Somerville reports.

:10:02. > :10:06.Two children, just five and three years old,

:10:07. > :10:09.on their way to school when they're grabbed by strangers

:10:10. > :10:17.Their 70-year-old grandmother is knocked to the ground.

:10:18. > :10:24.Today, Noah and his sister are back home, and they are safe.

:10:25. > :10:27.Their Australian mum and Lebanese- American dad have been fighting

:10:28. > :10:33.Wednesday's abduction was part of a plan by their mother Sally

:10:34. > :10:39.to get them back to Australia. She is now in a Lebanese jail.

:10:40. > :10:45.Their father says the children are traumatised.

:10:46. > :10:49.Their first thing is why are Mummy's friends so mean to Grandma?

:10:50. > :10:52.That's the first thing they asked me.

:10:53. > :10:56.I'm just hoping it all pans out smooth and easy for Sal.

:10:57. > :11:00.I can't say so much about all the other people involved in this,

:11:01. > :11:06.And the rest of them, it's like, why are you poking

:11:07. > :11:13.I mean, the law could have sorted this out.

:11:14. > :11:18.Who are you guys? Are you guys law enforcers?

:11:19. > :11:23.I need you to do something to help bring my babies home.

:11:24. > :11:26.They are very loved and they are very missed.

:11:27. > :11:28.This was their mother last year, asking the Australian Government

:11:29. > :11:34.When that went unheard, she hired a self-styled child

:11:35. > :11:39.Getting the children out of Lebanon without the father's permission

:11:40. > :11:42.wouldn't have been easy, so the next part of the plan

:11:43. > :11:45.appeared to be to bring them here, to this Beirut marina,

:11:46. > :11:48.where a yacht was waiting to take them out of Lebanese jurisdiction

:11:49. > :11:53.Eventually, the children would be taken back to Australia.

:11:54. > :11:57.The yacht has been seized by the authorities and two British

:11:58. > :12:00.men are being held by police, accused of being

:12:01. > :12:09.An Australian news crew led by veteran journalist Tara Brown

:12:10. > :12:14.They are also being detained and are this evening spending

:12:15. > :12:20.The children have been pulled from parent to parent

:12:21. > :12:25.Their mother and father's marriage has unravelled, which would have

:12:26. > :12:28.been hard enough, but this personal disaster has now taken

:12:29. > :12:35.Quentin Somerville, BBC News, Beirut.

:12:36. > :12:37.In Myanmar, the new Government says that plans to release all political

:12:38. > :12:40.prisoners are to be delayed until after the end

:12:41. > :12:44.of the Burmese New Year holiday in ten days' time.

:12:45. > :12:47.On Friday, 69 student activists had charges against them dropped

:12:48. > :12:50.and almost all of them were set free.

:12:51. > :12:54.Many of them had been in prison since March last year when protests

:12:55. > :12:58.against education reform ended in violent clashes.

:12:59. > :13:04.Yeah, this is the first real success story, if you like,

:13:05. > :13:10.They've been in office just over a week.

:13:11. > :13:12.Yesterday, we heard from them that they are going to

:13:13. > :13:24.prioritise the releasing of political prisoners.

:13:25. > :13:26.Today, they have managed to get the most high-profile group

:13:27. > :13:28.of political prisoners in this country, these student activists

:13:29. > :13:31.Some pretty extraordinary scenes they are today.

:13:32. > :13:33.People singing and dancing in the courthouse itself.

:13:34. > :13:37.Many of them have been imprisoned for a year,

:13:38. > :13:43.with legal proceedings really taking a very long time to take place.

:13:44. > :13:48.Miss Suu Kyi will be pleased herself that she is starting to see

:13:49. > :13:50.some reward, some result from her new position

:13:51. > :14:03.Laura Haigh is Amnesty International's Myanmar researcher.

:14:04. > :14:10.We heard there that Ms Su Chi will be pleased. You please? Of course we

:14:11. > :14:15.are. We are really welcoming of this release. The students have been in

:14:16. > :14:19.detention for over a year. The fact they have been released today, one

:14:20. > :14:24.week into a new Government, says a lot about their commitment to ending

:14:25. > :14:26.the cycle of political arrest and imprisonment. Unfortunately, some

:14:27. > :14:32.people are still behind buyers and it is time to turn our attention to

:14:33. > :14:35.them. Of course, but the relief for those students was overwhelming.

:14:36. > :14:42.Let's just have a look at that moment. So this is them listening to

:14:43. > :14:45.the judge, and it's obvious that after a year in detention, as you

:14:46. > :14:57.were saying, the relief is palpable, as we will see in a second. Yes, you

:14:58. > :15:01.touched upon this. You hoped to see more. That's right. In the last

:15:02. > :15:05.hour, we have heard that some of those who were not released today

:15:06. > :15:09.have actually been released, which is wonderful news. What we need to

:15:10. > :15:13.see now is those who have already been convicted to be released. There

:15:14. > :15:20.are many dozens behind buyers still and this is where our focus must be.

:15:21. > :15:22.We must really dismantle this repressive legal framework that has

:15:23. > :15:30.allowed these individuals to be arrested and a detained behind

:15:31. > :15:33.buyers for so long. You have got this repressive legal framework, how

:15:34. > :15:40.do you dismantle something so historic? We have an excellent

:15:41. > :15:43.opportunity. In terms of being actually able to reform laws, we can

:15:44. > :15:50.see progress because of the Government majority. They have laws

:15:51. > :15:54.which restrict free speech and which would prevent people from peacefully

:15:55. > :15:58.protest in. It will take time, but we have seen positive moves already

:15:59. > :16:03.that they want to prioritise this issue and we will see that a legal

:16:04. > :16:08.reform process initiated in the coming weeks. What about the

:16:09. > :16:13.military role? I think we have to be realistic. The military still plays

:16:14. > :16:17.a very powerful role in the country, in addition to their role in

:16:18. > :16:21.Parliament, the actually have oversight of some of the key

:16:22. > :16:24.ministries. Particularly the Ministry of home affairs, which

:16:25. > :16:28.oversees the police. There is going to have to be some kind of

:16:29. > :16:35.relationship uttering the Government and the military. I hope there are

:16:36. > :16:38.no spoilers here, it is early days. The new State Councillor's

:16:39. > :16:46.relationship with the military, how crucial is that? Absolutely crucial.

:16:47. > :16:50.They retain power over these key ministries. They have a veto over

:16:51. > :16:54.constitutional changes and have a significant bloc in parliament as

:16:55. > :16:59.well. We have seen the military react very strongly to any criticism

:17:00. > :17:05.of the military institution by peaceful activists, and that is not

:17:06. > :17:09.something... It is something we have to keep our eyes on. But for the

:17:10. > :17:13.time being, those students finally going home. Thank you very much for

:17:14. > :17:15.joining us. The Tibetan spiritual leader

:17:16. > :17:18.the Dalai Lama has said the only way for the world to confront terror

:17:19. > :17:21.attacks is through greater contact He was speaking to the BBC

:17:22. > :17:25.in the wake of the Brussels attack. He also spoke about the challenges

:17:26. > :17:27.faced by the Tibetan movement especially

:17:28. > :17:31.with increasing Chinese pressure. The Dalai Lama was talking

:17:32. > :17:35.to the BBC's Sanjoy Majumder. I think the violence in any

:17:36. > :17:43.religion, we should make more closer contact with people

:17:44. > :17:51.with different faiths. One of my commitments is to

:17:52. > :18:03.try to promote genuine harmony. For that, genuine harmony

:18:04. > :18:09.is the basis of mutual respect. The Chinese government has put a lot

:18:10. > :18:16.of pressure on governments around the world to go slow

:18:17. > :18:19.on the Tibetan issue. Do you think Britain is now

:18:20. > :18:24.placing its business interests ahead of what you believe should

:18:25. > :18:27.be its moral obligation? Great Britain is facing some

:18:28. > :18:36.economy difficulties. New friends who have a lot

:18:37. > :18:42.of money very important, Sometimes our world,

:18:43. > :18:59.political power, including military power and economy power,

:19:00. > :19:25.sometimes seem more That is the reality. In recent

:19:26. > :19:29.months and years, you have spoken a lot about reincarnation. A lot of

:19:30. > :19:42.people have reacted. Have you changed your views on reincarnation?

:19:43. > :19:50.The whole system... That's gone. Democracy is the system. I myself am

:19:51. > :19:55.fully committed to democracy. Therefore, this certain sort of

:19:56. > :20:07.system, including religious institution, feudal system, is a

:20:08. > :20:22.long time past. We must act according to the new reality.

:20:23. > :20:29.Know some breaking news and some information on the leaked Panama

:20:30. > :20:33.documents. Panama's presidents have agreed to stage a meeting in the

:20:34. > :20:39.next few days with Finance ministers in Paris over these leaks. That is

:20:40. > :20:44.one line coming from the Panama Government. And also, Panama is

:20:45. > :20:50.saying it will take necessary steps to guarantee effective protection of

:20:51. > :20:56.tax information between countries. That is all coming from the Panama

:20:57. > :21:02.Government. Movement there to work out following that huge leakage of a

:21:03. > :21:08.huge amount of documents from a company that was helping clients

:21:09. > :21:09.with tax evasion. So we will keep you updated as and when we get some

:21:10. > :21:11.more from that. Saudi Arabia's king has announced

:21:12. > :21:13.that a bridge linking his country to Egypt will be built over

:21:14. > :21:16.the Red Sea, connecting The King made the announcement

:21:17. > :21:20.during his current visit to Cairo. He said the bridge would boost

:21:21. > :21:27.commerce between the two allies. TRANSLATION: I have agreed

:21:28. > :21:31.with the President of Egypt to build a bridge that connects

:21:32. > :21:34.the two countries. This historic move,

:21:35. > :21:36.which links the two African and Asian continents,

:21:37. > :21:40.is considered to be a quantum leap which will increase trade

:21:41. > :21:43.movement between them A new Hollywood movie,

:21:44. > :21:50.Eye In The Sky, tells the dramatic story of intelligence officers

:21:51. > :21:54.considering whether to target a village to prevent

:21:55. > :21:57.a possible terrorist attack. It's filmed in South Africa,

:21:58. > :22:01.but set in the Nairobi suburb of Eastleigh, which is nicknamed

:22:02. > :22:04."Little Mogadishu". And it seems not everyone

:22:05. > :22:06.there is happy at the international attention, as Ferdinand

:22:07. > :22:12.Omondi reports. Imagine going about your daily

:22:13. > :22:15.business with an eye in the sky These people don't have to imagine

:22:16. > :22:22.it, because Hollywood has made a film about drones hovering

:22:23. > :22:27.over their neighbourhood. This mall in Nairobi's Eastleigh

:22:28. > :22:30.is home to Eastleigh Wood, a production house making

:22:31. > :22:34.films for a Somali audience. These Somali film-makers

:22:35. > :22:36.are watching a preview of Eye In The Sky, a

:22:37. > :22:41.Hollywood movie set in Eastleigh. In the film, American drone pilots
