:01:30. > :01:32.The sanctions aim to deprive Pyongyang of more
:01:33. > :01:39.Speaking at the session, US ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley
:01:40. > :01:53.North Korea's irresponsible and careless acts have just proved to be
:01:54. > :01:56.quite costly to the regime. This resolution is the single largest
:01:57. > :02:03.economic sanctions package ever levelled against the North Korean
:02:04. > :02:05.regime. The price the North Korean leadership will pay for its
:02:06. > :02:09.continued nuclear missile development will be the loss of one
:02:10. > :02:15.third of its exports and hard currency. This is the most stringent
:02:16. > :02:21.set of sanctions on any country in a generation. Lets get more on this,

:02:31. > :02:41.Korea's nuclear-weapons programme? The US are taking this threat very

:02:52. > :02:56.obviously, that is contested by many, but they're not taking any
:02:57. > :03:00.chances. In the last few hours, Donald Trump is there's National
:03:01. > :03:03.Security adviser has said they will not tolerate these threats. In the
:03:04. > :03:08.last month, you've heard there from Nikki Haley, the US ambassador to
:03:09. > :03:12.the UN, she has been trying to work with the other members of the
:03:13. > :03:15.student council to come up with this resolution. But they've managed to
:03:16. > :03:22.do is come up with a package of measures which will hit Pyongyang
:03:23. > :03:27.with a $1 billion worth of export funding. It will strip that await.
:03:28. > :03:34.The idea behind that is that. Then getting the funds necessary to
:03:35. > :03:43.plough that money into his missile programme. The key to all of this is
:03:44. > :03:48.China, because China trade around 90% of North Korea's trade is with

:04:13. > :04:15.will stop it is based in South Korea, China believes it's a threat
:04:16. > :04:21.to its own national security and wants the US to remove it. So now we
:04:22. > :04:27.know what China once in response to its backing, it's asking the US to
:04:28. > :04:32.take away its military presence near them. Has there been any reaction
:04:33. > :04:37.yet from North Korea? Within the last few hours before the sanctions
:04:38. > :04:40.were even voted upon, North Korean state television had published a
:04:41. > :04:45.series of statements, very defiant statements, thing they would not
:04:46. > :04:50.tolerate the sanctions and it would not work to stop them rallying
:04:51. > :04:55.around their party and rallying around their leader. So this is the
:04:56. > :05:02.latest set of sanctions, and it seems Kim Jong-un is undeterred.
:05:03. > :05:04.Just hours after it was sworn in, Venezuela's new constituent assembly
:05:05. > :05:07.has voted to sack the country's top prosecutor, a vocal
:05:08. > :05:10.The controversial assembly - which is dominated by
:05:11. > :05:14.Government supporters - decided to remove Luisa Ortega from
:05:15. > :05:21.Earlier, dozens of National Guard officers in riot gear took up

:06:39. > :06:40.consistently denounced it publicly and brought legal action to hold its
