:04:34. > :04:38.authorities are saying the worst is not over yet. That is right. I think
:04:39. > :04:42.the concern is this rain is going to continue. It has been pouring with
:04:43. > :04:50.rain and teeming down for many hours, if not days. As the remnants
:04:51. > :04:55.of what was Hurricaine Harvey now sits across the country. That storm
:04:56. > :05:00.is not moving very much at all. It is not that close to here, a couple
:05:01. > :05:05.of 100 and mutters away from Houston at the moment. But the rain on the
:05:06. > :05:09.eastern side of it is very, very intense. That is what is causing the
:05:10. > :05:16.problem. We have just heard from the National Weather Service that this
:05:17. > :05:20.may be a record setting rainfall for the entire modern history of Texas
:05:21. > :05:22.and the entire recorded history. There could be 50 inches of rain
:05:23. > :05:27.falling as a result of this storm. On the line is Majorie De Vries,

:05:44. > :05:48.been very lucky. Our house has not flooded. However, one street away
:05:49. > :05:52.from us all the way down to the river, it is like a river. It is
:05:53. > :06:00.incredible. I think there is one metre and a half of what. People are
:06:01. > :06:05.trying to get out of their houses by boat with their pets and any kind of
:06:06. > :06:10.belongings that they can take. We are looking at the film that you
:06:11. > :06:14.have taken yourself and sent us. It is truly remarkable. It is a
:06:15. > :06:19.completely outside of your house. Yes, it very much is. Like I said,
:06:20. > :06:26.people from other neighbourhoods have come over with boats. It is
:06:27. > :06:31.incredible. It is a lovely neighbourhood to be living in and we
:06:32. > :06:36.have not seen any of the emergency services as yet. I think they are
:06:37. > :06:40.all struggling just to get into the area. How long did this flooding
:06:41. > :06:47.take to appear and rise to such a level? Very quickly. We arrived and
:06:48. > :06:53.got back last night at quarter past nine. What I heard from the
:06:54. > :06:59.neighbour at who said that 230 in the morning it really started to
:07:00. > :07:03.flood and people were evacuating their homes. We just had a break in
:07:04. > :07:10.the rain but it is kicking off again. All the way up to Monday
:07:11. > :07:14.evening they are saying now. Is it clear what you are being told to do?
:07:15. > :07:18.Whether you are being told to stay where you are are to leave, is that
:07:19. > :07:23.information coming through to people clearly? It is. I think a lot of
:07:24. > :07:28.people are saying to stay in your house. That is what we are all
:07:29. > :07:33.doing. However, the people who have been badly flooded, they are all
:07:34. > :07:37.going around to neighbours houses who have not been flooded. I think
:07:38. > :07:45.the biggest problem is that the whole city has stopped. They could
:07:46. > :07:49.continue for days on end. Is it difficult to stay indoors and remain
:07:50. > :07:55.there when you know there must be people who need help? Yes, and we
:07:56. > :08:03.work this morning just to try to help people. We're lucky with our
:08:04. > :08:09.house. We are higher. We have been helping as much as we can. It is a
:08:10. > :08:13.disaster, actually. I know you only moved to Houston at the beginning of
:08:14. > :08:15.this year. The people who have lived in the neighbourhood all of their
:08:16. > :08:21.lives have never had anything like this. No, never. I spoke to one of
:08:22. > :08:27.my neighbours who has lived here for a 40 years. He has elderly parents
:08:28. > :08:32.just a couple of streets down from us and they moved all of their
:08:33. > :08:36.furniture up as much as they could. Everybody is gobsmacked. We do not
:08:37. > :08:40.understand what is going on. I getting a sense that when the rain
:08:41. > :08:47.is going to stop and the worst will be over? Are you getting a sense is
:08:48. > :08:53.mac tomorrow evening they say it. . To get all of the cars and this will
