Several people have been killed in a bomb attack in the heart

It's believed a car bomb exploded, near a park

Security officials say many people have also been injured,

And it appears to be a suicide bombing.

The pilot who deliberately crashed a plane into the French Alps last

year, was told by his doctor he needed psychiatric help

for depression, two weeks before the disaster.

There's been a huge explosion in the heart of the Turkish

There are reports that many people have been killed

It's thought a car bomb was detonated close to a bus,

near the city's main square, setting several vehicles on fire.

This is the latest in a number of bomb attacks in Turkey,

and follows warnings in recent days that Ankara could be targeted.

Our correspondent Jonathan Blake reports.

Early evening in Ankara. Panic as emergency crews respond to an

explosion in the city centre. Turkey's state broadcaster reported

that the car blew up near a bus stop. Vehicles burnt out, a bus

destroyed. Police sealed off the scene of the blast with many already

confirmed dead at the number killed is likely to rise. The explosion

happened near government buildings. Just two days ago, the US Embassy in

Ankara warmed of a potential terrorist attack. -- warned. Last

month 29 people died in a car bombing and a Kurdish group claimed

Andreas Lubitz who had a history of severe depression,

never told airline bosses of his doctor's recommendation.

says there must be "clearer rules" on the lifting of patient

confidentiality, if pilots show signs of psychological problems.
