died aged 88. That's all from the BBC News at Six so it's | :00:00. | :00:00.
Tonight, On Reporting Scotland: The Prime Minister Backs Greater Powers | :00:00. | :00:08.
For The Scottish Parliament, As He Addresses Scottish Conservatives. | :00:09. | :00:17.
Nearly one hundred years after they fell in battle, nine Scottish | :00:18. | :00:26.
soldiers are laid to rest. It is a closure in a sense. When you don't | :00:27. | :00:31.
have a body to bury, but all these years later. | :00:32. | :00:36.
Action! Plans for a Scottish film studio get official backing. | :00:37. | :00:49.
A preview of the fans gearing up for this Sunday's League Cup Final. | :00:50. | :00:55.
And it's scrumdiddlyumptious in Grangemouth this weekend, with the | :00:56. | :00:57.
world's largest display of Willy Wonka film memorabilia. | :00:58. | :01:14.
Good Evening. The Prime Minister, David Cameron, has said that a no | :01:15. | :01:19.
vote in the independence referendum is not a vote for no change. In his | :01:20. | :01:22.
address to the Scottish Conservative conference he said that he and the | :01:23. | :01:25.
Tories' Scottish leader, Ruth Davidson, believe giving Holyrood | :01:26. | :01:28.
greater responsibility for raising the money it spends is the "right | :01:29. | :01:35.
thing to do". From the conference in Edinburgh, here's our political | :01:36. | :01:44.
correspondent, Glenn Campbell. It's becoming an old political joke | :01:45. | :01:49.
that the more pandas in Scotland than Conservative MPs. The party is | :01:50. | :01:56.
not universally popular here. The Prime Minister of the United | :01:57. | :01:59.
Kingdom, David Cameron. At least David Cameron can count on a welcome | :02:00. | :02:04.
from his Scottish party, and he says they have the character to overcome | :02:05. | :02:08.
adversity. It is about having a stout heart, and unwavering gaze, | :02:09. | :02:15.
and skin has thick and impenetrable as the SNP's White Paper on | :02:16. | :02:21.
independence. The independence debate dominated his speech. It will | :02:22. | :02:26.
be the last Scottish Conservative conference before the referendum. It | :02:27. | :02:31.
will decide whether Scotland becomes an independent country or sticks | :02:32. | :02:34.
with the union. There will be no going back, no second chances. We | :02:35. | :02:41.
face a monumental battle to keep our United Kingdom together. The | :02:42. | :02:45.
referendum he said was a life changing decision for which voters | :02:46. | :02:49.
must be fully informed. Voting no, he said, was not a vote for no | :02:50. | :02:56.
change. Vote yes, that is total separation. But no, that can mean | :02:57. | :03:06.
further devolution, more power. But with the crucial insurance policy | :03:07. | :03:08.
that comes with being part of the United Kingdom. Earlier, he visited | :03:09. | :03:15.
insurance workers at one of Edinburgh's financial firms. He want | :03:16. | :03:21.
him voters to listen to business bosses who have questioned | :03:22. | :03:27.
independence. Back at conference, confectionery. Mr Cameron hopes that | :03:28. | :03:31.
what some will see as his referendum sweetener to get Holyrood the power | :03:32. | :03:37.
to raise more of the money it spends will prove a popular alternative to | :03:38. | :03:41.
independence. In response, the Yes Campaign said | :03:42. | :03:44.
that Mr Cameron's speech had actually been good for their cause. | :03:45. | :03:51.
This is the Prime Minister of a Government that we did not vote | :03:52. | :03:54.
for, imposing policies on Scotland that we don't like and that he | :03:55. | :03:59.
consistently reject. It is useful for the Yes Campaign to have a | :04:00. | :04:03.
constant reminder from Cameron and his other ministers of why we need | :04:04. | :04:06.
to be independent. Our political editor Brian Taylor | :04:07. | :04:09.
joins me now from Edinburgh. We've heard the Prime Minister talking | :04:10. | :04:12.
about more tax powers for the Scottish Parliament. How firm an | :04:13. | :04:20.
offer does this sound to you, Brian? It is being discussed. You heard of | :04:21. | :04:24.
air that the Prime Minister said can, not a will, with regard to more | :04:25. | :04:29.
devolution. That has led his opponents, those who advocate | :04:30. | :04:32.
independence to say there is wriggle room. It is not a firm offer. Aides | :04:33. | :04:38.
to the Prime Minister are adamant that this is not the case, that this | :04:39. | :04:43.
is a firm offer that can means well and it was choreographed, if you | :04:44. | :04:47.
like, to set out that offer. It would work like this, we are | :04:48. | :04:53.
expecting the Strathclyde Commission in May, she said to me in an | :04:54. | :04:57.
interview that she is firmly in favour of more tax powers for the | :04:58. | :05:02.
Scottish Parliament, allowing her to offer credibly a reduction in | :05:03. | :05:07.
taxation and we heard from the Prime Minister the formula he uses, he | :05:08. | :05:12.
says Ruth Davidson wants the powers and I do, too. One, it bolsters the | :05:13. | :05:17.
position of Ruth Davidson and at counters are those in the party who | :05:18. | :05:20.
did not fancy devolution much in the first place and may not fancy going | :05:21. | :05:27.
further. The stress here is that this is definitely all definitely | :05:28. | :05:32.
will be about a firm offer of new powers coming. They say to one | :05:33. | :05:37.
further thing, if you have more tax powers, then you can begin to | :05:38. | :05:43.
squeeze the relevance of the Barnett formula perhaps to the advantage and | :05:44. | :05:49.
with the support of those in the Conservatives in the south. Thank | :05:50. | :05:56.
you very much. 20 British soldiers, killed in | :05:57. | :05:59.
action during the First World War, have been laid to rest with full | :06:00. | :06:03.
military honours in France, almost 100 years after they died. Nine of | :06:04. | :06:07.
them were Scots, but only one has been identified. He was Private | :06:08. | :06:10.
William McAleer, from Fife, who was serving with the Royal Scottish | :06:11. | :06:12.
Fusiliers. He died with the others during the battle of Loos in 1915. | :06:13. | :06:20.
Steven Godden reports. To the strains of a Piper 's | :06:21. | :06:23.
lament, a young Scottish soldier is at last carried towards his final | :06:24. | :06:28.
resting place, following the 1915 Battle of Loos, Private William | :06:29. | :06:34.
McAleer was amongst the many missing and so it remained for nearly one | :06:35. | :06:40.
century until a chance discovery allowed his sacrifice and that of 19 | :06:41. | :06:45.
others to be fully recognised. We remember before him our brothers | :06:46. | :06:55.
whose names are known only to God. The bodies were discovered four | :06:56. | :07:00.
years ago. Only ten could be identified out of 20 by regiment, | :07:01. | :07:04.
but in one case a set of metal tax pointed the way from northern France | :07:05. | :07:10.
to fight. Private William McAleer was just 22 when he was killed on | :07:11. | :07:14.
the battlefield in France. He had been born in Lieven, and here there | :07:15. | :07:21.
is no record of his name among those etched in stone. Attending this | :07:22. | :07:28.
morning's ceremony, a distant relative from Fife, himself a former | :07:29. | :07:34.
soldier. Yellow it is a closure in a sense when you do not have a body to | :07:35. | :07:44.
bury. All of these years later, the officer doesn't have any this family | :07:45. | :07:49.
left, but his descendant, me, it's you. It is an honour to come along. | :07:50. | :07:58.
A parting salute for the unknown soldiers and the Private William | :07:59. | :08:01.
McAleer a lasting reminder of a young life lost far from home. | :08:02. | :08:08.
You're watching Reporting Scotland from the BBC. Still to come on | :08:09. | :08:11.
tonight's programme: It's been one of the best seasons for downhill | :08:12. | :08:15.
skiing, but find out why it's one of the worst for cross-country skiing. | :08:16. | :08:20.
And it's all about this old trophy this weekend, the League Cup Final | :08:21. | :08:24.
is at Celtic Park on Sunday, and it's almost turned into a battle of | :08:25. | :08:28.
the bands. But which side will be singing come Sunday night? | :08:29. | :08:36.
It's been a long campaign with many setbacks, but today plans for a | :08:37. | :08:41.
Scottish film studio received official backing from a report | :08:42. | :08:44.
commissioned by Scottish Enterprise. It follows a recent surge of | :08:45. | :08:48.
interest in filming here. Our arts correspondent Pauline McLean | :08:49. | :08:55.
reports. Last summer, David Tennant is on | :08:56. | :09:01.
location near Loch Lomond. It is lovely to film in Scotland. At all, | :09:02. | :09:07.
it is particularly nice when the weather is fine and we are in a | :09:08. | :09:11.
beautiful location like this. It is hard to beat. Today's report | :09:12. | :09:16.
suggests that more than nice locations are needed, they need a | :09:17. | :09:21.
studio. The time is right. I am ambitious for Scotland. I want to | :09:22. | :09:26.
see this as a significant step forward and I think everyone is | :09:27. | :09:29.
anxious to see the studio built in Scotland. It identifies four | :09:30. | :09:32.
possible locations. New buildings at , or expanding existing facilities | :09:33. | :09:45.
in Cumbernauld. It is home to film city, a | :09:46. | :09:49.
production centre that lady has plans to expand. Before, you had | :09:50. | :09:55.
people disappearing off round the world. What you have here is Film | :09:56. | :10:00.
City, we're been here for ten years and we have been driving this. We | :10:01. | :10:04.
have stayed with it. I think that is why it is about to happen. This is | :10:05. | :10:09.
the latest Scottish film to be released in cinemas today. Its | :10:10. | :10:14.
producer believes a studio would attract other big names and budgets. | :10:15. | :10:24.
He is co-producing Star Wars at the moment, it being Glasgow. Under The | :10:25. | :10:35.
Skin was 90% shot in Scotland. There could be a studio now. The | :10:36. | :10:39.
Government are inviting commercial bids and if they are not suitable, | :10:40. | :10:46.
they are considering building their own foundation studio. | :10:47. | :10:52.
The convicted killer Mark Webster has dropped an appeal against his | :10:53. | :10:58.
sentence while still insisting he is innocent of the crimes. The 51 euros | :10:59. | :11:03.
murdered his first wife in an Aberdeenshire car crash and tried to | :11:04. | :11:04.
kill his second wife. An advocate has been jailed for | :11:05. | :11:23.
fraud and attempted fraud, totalling almost ?50,000. Mark Strachan who is | :11:24. | :11:27.
55 was earlier found guilty of submitting numerous false travel | :11:28. | :11:31.
claims for expenses to the Scottish legal aid board over several years. | :11:32. | :11:36.
A report has been submitted to the procurator fiscal in relation to the | :11:37. | :11:41.
Hamilton School in Aberdeen boss up to women have been charged with | :11:42. | :11:46.
offences. The primary school was shut following an education Scotland | :11:47. | :11:51.
inspection. Then the nursery closed voluntarily. Hundreds of businesses | :11:52. | :11:55.
in the Inverness and Loch Ness area to club together to make a | :11:56. | :11:59.
promotional campaign. The project is the first local | :12:00. | :12:03.
tourism marketing campaign of its type. Aimed at attracting more | :12:04. | :12:08.
visitors and boosting the region's economy. The rapper Dizzee Rascal is | :12:09. | :12:21.
the first nursing confirmed for the Wicker man festival. | :12:22. | :12:29.
Other acts are Big Country And The Feeling. | :12:30. | :12:36.
Islanders on Mull are set to build their own hydro-electric scheme. | :12:37. | :12:38.
More and more communities across Scotland are drawing up plans for | :12:39. | :12:41.
hydro projects, which will generate green energy and cash. Our | :12:42. | :12:43.
environment You can see the line of the pipe | :12:44. | :12:50.
running down the burn to the powerhouse at the bottom. | :12:51. | :12:54.
They are planning for a greener future on Mull and a more problems | :12:55. | :13:01.
rows one too. This burn tumbling down a hillside is key to the plans. | :13:02. | :13:07.
It might It might not look much but harnessing the power of these | :13:08. | :13:13.
waters, will allow islanders to generate electricity and cash. Cash | :13:14. | :13:17.
to be spent on much-needed community projects. | :13:18. | :13:20.
And all of that is only possible because of the innovative way this | :13:21. | :13:25.
scheme is being funded. We can sell shares to the public, but those | :13:26. | :13:30.
shares are at a fixed value, so you are investing in the scheme rather | :13:31. | :13:34.
than donating in the scheme. Your investment will have a return rate | :13:35. | :13:39.
of about 4% a year, so your money will earn a better rate than if it | :13:40. | :13:42.
was in the bank or building society at the moment. The scheme here on | :13:43. | :13:47.
Mull is far from unique. Communities elsewhere in Scotland are developing | :13:48. | :13:53.
similar projects. We are talking about community scale, maybe 100 to | :13:54. | :13:58.
500 kilowatts which is quite small. They work by generating power | :13:59. | :14:05.
through the passage of water, through turbine, and then by and | :14:06. | :14:08.
large selling, County Counciling and selling that to the National Grid. | :14:09. | :14:13.
Islanders are already discussing how to invest the cash. It is a play | :14:14. | :14:18.
park but it is not in very good condition, it could do with new | :14:19. | :14:22.
equipment and stuff, things like that, to give people stuff to do. | :14:23. | :14:25.
Tourists when they come up. Blue skies are good news for visitors. | :14:26. | :14:32.
But it will be wet summers which help the hydroscheme generate more | :14:33. | :14:39.
cash for islanders. Despite HIV willing in one of best | :14:40. | :14:43.
seasons for downhill skiing it has been one of the worst for Nordic or | :14:44. | :14:47.
King's Cross skiing, the biggest centre for the sport in Scotland, at | :14:48. | :14:53.
Huntly has had just 23 ski days this year, compared with over 100 last | :14:54. | :15:00.
year. For the down hill resorts, this has been a bumper season, as | :15:01. | :15:06.
early as January, the Glencoe centre was reporting one of the best | :15:07. | :15:11.
winters for years. But here in Aberdeenshire, it is not | :15:12. | :15:17.
so good. These tracks are normally busy with cross-country skier, but | :15:18. | :15:22.
as you can see, there is one vital ingredient missing. One, two, three. | :15:23. | :15:26.
Here they have the next best thing. This season, they have had just 23 | :15:27. | :15:31.
snow days. Compared with more than 100 in three | :15:32. | :15:35.
of the last five years. It allows potential Olympians to | :15:36. | :15:39.
continue training. But it is still disappointing. The last couple of | :15:40. | :15:43.
years where we have had a lot of snow, it has been more exciting for | :15:44. | :15:47.
everybody, the coaches are able to do more and the kids get maybe a bit | :15:48. | :15:53.
more out of it, being on snow, but, yeah, we experienced no snow years | :15:54. | :15:59.
before. Here is Andrew pus grave. The programme at Huntly has done the | :16:00. | :16:07.
town proud. Team GB's four cross-country skiers all came from | :16:08. | :16:10.
the town and remember it fondly I remember skiing round in the | :16:11. | :16:16.
forests, where we used to go skiing outside Huntly and wouldn't have | :16:17. | :16:20.
been able to see that we are going to the Olympics when you looked at | :16:21. | :16:27.
us when we were 12. Poll those following Hizb ut-Tahrir tracks it | :16:28. | :16:32.
is necessary We will put on roller ski races on the Tarmac track here, | :16:33. | :16:37.
and skiers from recreational, through to the elite skiers will use | :16:38. | :16:41.
the facilities for training on. Unless the sun disappears it looks | :16:42. | :16:45.
like this will be the most skiing they get. | :16:46. | :16:48.
--. Following his tracks. Let us get the | :16:49. | :16:53.
weekend sport now from Jonathan. Here we go. It will be an exciting | :16:54. | :16:58.
weekend, that is for sure. It has been two decades since Aberdeen | :16:59. | :17:02.
picked up a piece of silver wear,on Sunday they take on Inverness | :17:03. | :17:05.
Caledonian Thistle in the final of the League Cup. Ahead of the game | :17:06. | :17:09.
good news for dons fands. Derek McInnes has signed a two-year | :17:10. | :17:13.
contract extension and it means that 40,000 Aberdeen supporters will | :17:14. | :17:17.
travel to Celtic Park with some hope come Sunday. | :17:18. | :17:22.
Business has been brisk at the FC shop, Sunday's final can't come | :17:23. | :17:28.
quick enough. It is my first game. I don't know what to expect. I am | :17:29. | :17:32.
looking forward to it. Deservedly we are in the final, hopefully we will | :17:33. | :17:38.
win it. Too many years Glasgow has dominated the football scene. It is | :17:39. | :17:41.
about time we got Aberdeen back up there again. Dyed-in-the-wool Dons | :17:42. | :17:47.
fan Paul pulled out of the Morroccan open to make sure he was at Celtic | :17:48. | :17:52.
Park I love my football. I go to away games and Pittodrie as much as | :17:53. | :17:58.
I can. People will be be seeing the team playing in the final for the | :17:59. | :18:03.
first type. 45,000 supporters will be there. Tickets selling out before | :18:04. | :18:07.
going on general sale. The Aberdeen squad have relaxed and trained away | :18:08. | :18:12.
from the pressure of an expectant city Get that going to work for the | :18:13. | :18:18.
last two or three week, queues outside the staid yaum. I am telling | :18:19. | :18:23.
players to focus on the job, now we can concentrate and talk about the | :18:24. | :18:31.
Cup Final. -- stadium. Cup Final equals song of course, and | :18:32. | :18:36.
a prematch booster. Derek McInnes extending his stay at Pittodrie. | :18:37. | :18:45.
Aberdeen expects. Well Inverness expect as well. They | :18:46. | :18:48.
have been cast as underdogs in the final, they trail Aberdeen in the | :18:49. | :18:52.
Premiership, plus they will have far fewer fans in the stadium, but Caley | :18:53. | :18:57.
Thistle are in no doubt they can win. Cup Final fever has gripped the | :18:58. | :19:01.
high land capital. Into their first major Cup Final, | :19:02. | :19:06.
courtesy of a last minute goal against Hearts and a penalty | :19:07. | :19:09.
shoot-out is a fitting achievement for Inverness Caledonian Thistle on | :19:10. | :19:12.
this, their 20th birthday. The largest collection of their fans | :19:13. | :19:15.
will be heading down to Glasgow, including one who has come all the | :19:16. | :19:19.
way from Australia. It is a once in a lifetime. They won't have a first | :19:20. | :19:24.
major final again, I would be kicking myself if I didn't. The | :19:25. | :19:28.
occasion is being marked in a number of way, including the lighting up of | :19:29. | :19:34.
landmarks in Inverness Caledonian Thistle colours and a football song | :19:35. | :19:39.
has been recorded The song has that modern feel as well. That | :19:40. | :19:42.
encapsulates that feeling at the club and the youth of the club and | :19:43. | :19:46.
the vigour of the club. As well as having rock on their side they also | :19:47. | :19:50.
have roll, well, at least a maker of rolls. It is a sugar fix, you know | :19:51. | :19:56.
and the players could consider having one on Sunday, and help them | :19:57. | :20:00.
on their way to winning the cup. Give them some real energy. | :20:01. | :20:04.
Caley Thistle got through to the final despite having two players | :20:05. | :20:09.
sent off and there is a perception other decisions is often seem to go | :20:10. | :20:12.
against them. I don't think a lot of people want us in that Cup Final, | :20:13. | :20:17.
because we are not glamorous enough. We don't have enough supporters but | :20:18. | :20:21.
we are there. We will turn up and give it our best shot. Hopefully we | :20:22. | :20:29.

Scottish sporting stories. Scotland have asked for the roof to | :21:05. | :21:10.
be on at the Millennium Stadium tomorrow. It is live across the BBC, | :21:11. | :21:14.
Scotland looking to bounce back from their defeat to France last weekend. | :21:15. | :21:20.
Last week we thought we had a bad time. It happens. We want to win, | :21:21. | :21:26.
but we want a good performance,to be fair I think we need one to win. | :21:27. | :21:33.
Rangers director Dave King met with fans' group, they say they will only | :21:34. | :21:39.
hand over season ticket money if training facilities are signed over | :21:40. | :21:43.
to them. Celtic can move a step closer to securing the Premiership | :21:44. | :21:53.
title this evening. Neil Lennon is wary of Kris Boyd He can score | :21:54. | :21:58.
goals, he has done that throughout his career. He has shown a great | :21:59. | :22:02.
level of maturity. If we make it hard for them for the opening stain, | :22:03. | :22:05.
we have players that can cause problems. It is a game to look | :22:06. | :22:09.
forward to. Dundee United are writing to the SFA | :22:10. | :22:15.
after their manager said he was manhandled twice by the fourth | :22:16. | :22:17.

sure the trophy will be heading north somewhere. Reasonable | :22:37. | :22:43.
prediction! What is described as the world's largest collection of Willy | :22:44. | :22:47.
Wonka and the Chocolate Factory memorabilia goes on display, from | :22:48. | :22:52.
golden eggs to ever lasting gobstopper, fans of the 1971 | :22:53. | :22:57.
children's classic are being promised a Willy Wonka experience. | :22:58. | :23:03.
Hold your breath. Make a wish. Count to three. | :23:04. | :23:08.
Willy Wonka's magical chocolate factory sparked many a childhood | :23:09. | :23:13.
fantasy. But this fan has taken that fantasy further than most. Buying up | :23:14. | :23:17.
thousands of items from the 1971 film. It is the chance for the fans | :23:18. | :23:23.
to come and meet the cast, see the props up close, because they have | :23:24. | :23:29.
never been on display, and just have a fun, fun night, with as I say the | :23:30. | :23:34.
cast members of the movie and they get to try the lickable wallpaper, | :23:35. | :23:39.
it is like a real like Willy Wonka experience. | :23:40. | :23:44.
From golden eggs to Wonka bars it has a chocolatey treat for everyone. | :23:45. | :23:50.
For fans without a sweet tooth original scores can and scripts add | :23:51. | :23:53.
historical substance. This is the first time any of this has been seen | :23:54. | :23:58.
in the UK. Stars from the film are also gathering to share their | :23:59. | :24:03.
memories. Working with Charlie, in the home and the relationship with | :24:04. | :24:07.
the mother and the son, I enjoyed that a lot, that was fun to do, and | :24:08. | :24:14.
that was meaningful to me, to do, because he, that time it was about | :24:15. | :24:18.
the age of one of my girls. One of these ever lasting gobstoppers will | :24:19. | :24:23.
set you back round 50,000 $, but in terms of rarity value, this is the | :24:24. | :24:28.
last surviving bar. Let us move on to the weather. | :24:29. | :24:39.
Good evening, well it was a fairly cloudy day in most of the country, | :24:40. | :24:44.
and also a fairly breezy day, across the north coast and the northern | :24:45. | :24:49.
isle, in excess of 60, 70mph. Even through the central belt 53mph this | :24:50. | :24:53.
afternoon. And the reason why, well, if we look at the pressure chart we | :24:54. | :24:56.
can see high pressure in the south-west, and a relatively deep | :24:57. | :25:01.
low up to the North East, in between a squeeze on the isobars indicating | :25:02. | :25:05.
the strong winds we have seen. And as we head through the rest of the | :25:06. | :25:09.
afternoon, this oeuvrening and overnight it stays windy and cloudy | :25:10. | :25:14.
with rain, nothing too heavy and clearer skies in the north, as we | :25:15. | :25:16.
head through the first part of the night, but the cloud and the wet | :25:17. | :25:20.
weather extends to reach most place, it won't be a cold night. | :25:21. | :25:24.
Temperatures for most round about five to eight Celsius. So what about | :25:25. | :25:27.
the weekend? Looking to Saturday and it is a bit of a cloudy one, | :25:28. | :25:32.
certainly across most of the country, with wet weather in western | :25:33. | :25:35.
area, the further east you are generally drier and brighter here, | :25:36. | :25:40.
and still a bit breezy but not as windy. As we head through to the | :25:41. | :25:44.
afternoon, central southern and eastern part, it will be that bit | :25:45. | :25:47.
drier, with holes developing in the cloud and where the bright or sunny | :25:48. | :25:52.
skies develop we could see highs of 13 or 14 degrees. The further west | :25:53. | :25:56.
you are with the cloudier condition, temperatures round ten or 11 and | :25:57. | :25:59.
continued outbreaks of light and patchy rain through the high land | :26:00. | :26:03.
and islands. Damp for Orkney and Shetland but not as windy as we have | :26:04. | :26:08.
seen. So, if you are hill walking or climbing, the common notable theme | :26:09. | :26:12.
will be the wind. Those are the steady speeds coming from the west | :26:13. | :26:16.
or the north-west round 60mph, but at times gusting much stronger then | :26:17. | :26:19.
that, and certainly in the eastern range, through the Cairngorms we | :26:20. | :26:24.
could see gusts round 100mph on the summit, and elsewhere on the eastern | :26:25. | :26:28.
range, the further south and east you are the drier and brighter | :26:29. | :26:30.
conditions hopefully. So, the rest of the afternoon into the evening | :26:31. | :26:35.
and overnight, and you can see it stays similar really, fairly cloudy | :26:36. | :26:39.
for most with the damp conditions in the north-west, still breezy too | :26:40. | :26:43.
from the west or the north-west. And looking ahead to the second half of | :26:44. | :26:47.
the weekend on Sunday, the high pressure still with us to the | :26:48. | :26:51.
south-west, a bit too far away to exert any influence, we still see a | :26:52. | :26:55.
fair amount of cloud round, the further east you are, drier, | :26:56. | :26:58.
brighter, sunshine coming through, and in that sunshine, we could well | :26:59. | :27:03.
see 16 degrees through some parts of Aberdeenshire, so for some it will | :27:04. | :27:07.
be pleasant. Elsewhere cloudy and damp. | :27:08. | :27:12.
Now the main news. The Prime Minister has told the | :27:13. | :27:14.
Scottish Conservative conference that if there is a no vote in the | :27:15. | :27:20.
Independence Referendum Holyrood are could get more tax powers and | :27:21. | :27:23.
tributes have been paid to Tony Benn, the leading voice of the | :27:24. | :27:26.
radical left for more than 50 year, he has died at the age of 88. | :27:27. | :27:32.
And that is Reporting Scotland. I will be back with the headlines at | :27:33. | :27:36.
eight and the late bulletin just after the Ten O'Clock News. Until | :27:37. | :27:41.
then, have a very good evening. Goodbye. | :27:42. | :27:44. |
