A man has been arrested in connection with the death

of a grandmother, nearly seven months after her body

Jean Campbell's body was found in Cranhill Park last December by her

Jean Campbell was last seen heading towards Cranhill Park on the 13th of

December last year. She was walking the family dog close to her home in

Glasgow's east end. Her body was not found until the following day. Her

husband came home from the night shift to find she was not at home

and he went looking for her and found her body. The family dog, a

German Shepherd, was still in the park. Police said the 53-year-old

grandmother suffered a particularly violent attack. The case was

featured in a reconstruction on Crimewatch. 1500 DNA samples were

taken during the course of the police inquiry. During a fresh

appeal last month, police said the family were deaths -- devastated by

the loss of a mother and wife. A man has been arrested in connected with

her death. A 22-year-old man has also been arrested suspected of

attempted to pervert the course of justice.

An 85-year-old woman found with life-threatening injuries

in Edinburgh may have been attacked in her own home.

The pensioner was discovered at a house in Morningside Grove

Police believe it could have happened in her home

Police have said they are treating the death of a man

whose body was recovered from the Clyde as unexplained.

The body of 41-year-old Scott McGuire was taken

from the river near Clyde Street in Glasgow last Tuesday.

Mr McGuire is thought to have been sleeping rough in the area.

The Queen's Baton Relay continued on its tour around Scotland,

travelling from Inverness to Fort William today.

father. Overwhelmed with all the people here in the sport. Then on to

seeing it and knowing it will go to the Commonwealth Games. We were

sitting at breakfast it and we saw out the window of our hotel and

wondered why the police and army were there and then we were told

what it was. And then the Glenfinnan viaduct. Harry Potter's Hogg worked

expressed famously crusty, as did the baton. The most nominated person

in the whole of Scotland is carrying on about them. It is such a humbling

experience and a real privilege to do this for all my patients. It's

great fun. And the bat and's journey to Glasgow continues.
