a one-off occasion, North East MSP Richard Baker has now called for

NHS Grampian said the consultant worked for them regularly, paying

his own travel from India. On this occasion at short notice the health

board made that cost of ?2000. If we had the level of staffing in our

local accident and emergency services, then even on a one-off

basis there would not be a situation where a consultant was flown in from

halfway around the world at a cost of thousands. The Scottish

government say it is the board's responsibility to ensure the correct

staffing levels are in place but the number of staff working in the NHS
