Shopping centres across Scotland have been busy with last minute

shoppers out in force looking for that final Christmas

Andrew Anderson reports, from Dundee.

The merry-go-round of Christmas shopping is over for another year.

Others were oblivious. We have left everything to the last minute. When

did you start, this morning? Yes. Left it until the last minute as

usual. In Edinburgh, it seemed quiet, maybe they were ahead of the

curve. In Dundee's shopping centre some finding what they wanted. They

say the traders had a good few days. Yesterday was the busiest trading

day with over 62,000 through the doors yesterday. Subpar retailers

have had a successful Christmas and fingers crossed for the last trading

day of the year. It will be in a few weeks before we know how much we

have all spent this Christmas. If you cannot wait to get back into the

shops, you can do it all again from Boxing Day.

A body found in West Lothian last week has been identified as one

Police were hunting for Martin Hamilton since April,

after he breached the terms of his release from

Martin Hamilton was one of Scotland's most notorious drug

dealers. Doug dubbed... He was jailed after facing a string of

charges including torture and abduction. Police Scotland need your

help to find Martin Hamilton. He was released from prison in September

2014, but after breaching the terms of his licence, there was a manhunt

which led to this appeal on the BBC's Crimewatch programme in

October. The hunt has ended after police confirmed a body found in

woodland last week was that of Martin Hamilton. His death is being

treated as explained, although over the next few days, detectives plan

to carry out further investigations to get to the bottom of what

happened. It recognises the two churches'

constitutional responsibilities and will be debated by the Kirk's

ruling body next year. The Scottish minister

who co-authored the report proposing the closer relationship says it

will help the way the churches work. It is good we are talking about it.

More importantly it is good we are talking about what it means to share

the ministry and what it means both north and south of the border. The

more we talk, the more we can learn from one another and hopefully it

will produce a more effective ministry.

A lot of dry weather around, some sunshine and brightness. Soggy

through Wales. In towards East Anglia and in the far south quite

mild. For us, we are in dry, cold weather but the rain is on its way

as we had through towards Christmas night, extending in towards the far

south and Ben it will journey into the central belt. The Met office

issue a warning for that part of Dumfriesshire and the Borders. On

Boxing Day, wet across the far north and this heavy rain in towards

Cumbria. An amber be prepared warning here. Further south, quite
