Fracking stateside, the idea of drilling down into the earth and

using high pressure to extract gas here has proved highly

controversial. Delegates at the Scottish Liberal Democrat Conference

voted to court to an end to Kurdish elections, but now that has been

overturned. And campaigning today, the Scottish leader of the Butlins

maintains a change was needed. We had a vigorous debate last week

and we have had a number of debates, including the pre-manifesto

discussion, which looked at our overall ambitions on the

environment. The Lib Dems feel so strongly about our commitment to the

environment that we are making it clear that we are opposed to

fracking. I recognised it as a change, but

what you must make clear is that the Lib Dems are so committed to the

environment that they are now clearly opposed to fracking.

in place whilst fracking investigations are carried out. It

weekend in Edinburgh. The party's co-convener

Patrick Harvie criticised the Scottish Government's record

on land reform and council tax, and called for more radical

policies on housing, He said that a Green MSP

in all eight parliamentary regions would see "better,

bolder" opposition. Over the next couple of months, we

have a real opportunity to demonstrate that Scotland can be a

better society and for that, we need a border Holyrood on a range of

issues. The Greens have shown it already but just a tiny group of

MSPs how we can push the Scottish Government beyond that safe

conference on and to adopt the policy is that Scotland really

needs. A planned two-day strike

by secondary teachers in West Dunbartonshire next week

has been put on hold. Members of the EIS union have

already held two one-day strikes. The dispute is over a planned

shake-up, which would cut the number of principal teachers

of individual subjects. Tennis, and the Murray brothers

teamed up again in the Davis Cup doubles to give Great Britain

a 2-1 lead over Japan. After their crucial role in last

year's long-awaited victory, they powered through today's match,

winning in straight sets. Once again, it was a Dunblane Davis

Cup family affair in the doubles against Japan. Once again, the

Murray brothers rose to the task, taking the first set 6-3 against

their lives opponents, Yoshihito Nishioka and Yasutaka Uchiyama. Just

the one break of serve in the first set, the brothers fashioned another

in the second as Jamie Murray self to put them in frame of the victory.

The mission was accomplished in just one hour and 53 minutes.

Jamie is one of the best net players in the world, singles or doubles, he

isn't asked that up there, so... That obviously helps a lot in

doubles and when I get a few returns together, we play some good tennis

are showers of a wintry nature. They will add to the risk of ice, the

devil weather warning from the Met office. Where we have those showers

bolving, there will be the task of slippery surfaces. Temperatures in

towns and cities getting down to around freezing and it will be older

than that in the countryside. Tomorrow it is a cold start with

that risk of ice in places but a lot of fine and dry and bright weather.

Especially in the morning, plenty of Christ sunshine. The cloud will

develop as the day continues. It will turn cloudy over Northern

Ireland and South West England. -- crisp sunshine. There will be

thickening cloud and spots of rain. Someone Creagh showers in Northern

and Eastern parts but they will be fewer and lighter. The winners will

be lighter. Even though temperatures are only for mac or five Celsius, it

will not feel too bad. Dry weather tomorrow morning. We have this

weather front locking out to the West and during Monday, that will

introduce some thicker cloud to Western and coastal parts. Rain for

the high ground, not amounting to much, for most, another fine and dry

day. It will turn more and settled on Tuesday, freshening winds and

outbreaks of rain. That is the forecast.
