Newly-released documents have revealed that 20 workers

at the Faslane nuclear submarine base were exposed to radiation -

The engineers were repairing a leaking tank on a Trident

submarine, at the same time a nearby reactor was undergoing trials.

The Faslane base and the new killer submarines housed there continue to

cause controversy. Documents released after a Ministry of Defence

information request retell a number of incidents. The most serious dates

back to 2012 and involved 20 workers at the base. The local MP says this

is not about national security but safety. It is not acceptable to the

forces or the workers or this community. The MoD said safety at

the base is paramount importance is adding that investigations were

carried out and measures put in place to prevent incidents from
