Two people have died and three others have been injured after a car

:00:00.:00:11.

crashed into water in a cemetery in Glasgow early this morning.

:00:12.:00:16.

The 21-year-old driver Kieran Lundie and one of his female passengers,

:00:17.:00:20.

24-year-old Gemma McMonagle, were pronounced dead at the scene.

:00:21.:00:25.

Floral tributes have been placed at the scene where two people died this

:00:26.:00:36.

morning. It was just before 1am when a car travelling north, out of the

:00:37.:00:42.

city, careered off the road, smashed into the railings and ended up in

:00:43.:00:46.

water. Police, fire and ambulance followed soon after the crash but

:00:47.:00:51.

the 21-year-old male driver and one of his 24-year-old female passengers

:00:52.:00:55.

were pronounced dead at the scene. There were three other passengers,

:00:56.:01:00.

two men, one women, were taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on the

:01:01.:01:03.

south side of Glasgow and the woman is in a critical condition, one man

:01:04.:01:08.

is stable, and the other man escaped without serious injury. The police

:01:09.:01:10.

this afternoon are appealing for anyone who may have seen anything

:01:11.:01:14.

witnessed the crash to come forward with any information they had.

:01:15.:01:17.

Thousands of steam enthusiasts turned out as the Flying Scotsman

:01:18.:01:19.

It followed a U-turn by Network Rail, which said

:01:20.:01:22.

on Friday the engine could not travel to Fife and the Borders.

:01:23.:01:26.

Our Transport Correspondent David Miller joined the locomotive

:01:27.:01:28.

This is arguably the most famous Scotsman in the world, and the

:01:29.:01:43.

crowds here are clearly delighted to see the locomotive back in the city

:01:44.:01:45.

it was built to serve. Network Rail see the locomotive back in the city

:01:46.:01:53.

stoked controversy late on Friday after cancelling excursions to the

:01:54.:01:56.

Borders and five up to the last minute. Despite months of planning,

:01:57.:02:01.

bosses argued they had not had enough time to complete safety

:02:02.:02:07.

checks. But, passengers finally had something to celebrate after 24

:02:08.:02:11.

hours of frantic negotiations. We got the good news and I was thinking

:02:12.:02:15.

hours of frantic negotiations. We it was icing on the cake. We were a

:02:16.:02:19.

bit disappointed, but we thought it would still be a good day out and we

:02:20.:02:22.

never intended to pull out and we were still going to do it, and we

:02:23.:02:28.

did. Happy days. Very happy days. And for the company behind the

:02:29.:02:31.

excursions, this was a day for celebration, not recrimination. It

:02:32.:02:37.

is awesome and it is a great bit of railway and all credit to the fact

:02:38.:02:41.

it has been built, and to have the Flying Scotsman here is topping it

:02:42.:02:46.

off. But the Scottish transport minister who worked to end the

:02:47.:02:50.

impasse still one sponsors. It is totally ridiculous that the project

:02:51.:02:54.

of this scale almost didn't go ahead because the process was not

:02:55.:02:58.

undertaken properly -- wants answers. This project should not

:02:59.:03:00.

have been jeopardised in the way it was, but I'm thankfully went ahead

:03:01.:03:05.

due to the interventions. This evening the Flying Scotsman left

:03:06.:03:11.

Waverley Station bound for Fife. The root of the locomotive over the

:03:12.:03:16.

Forth Bridge, and two of the country's engineering masterpieces

:03:17.:03:18.

were reacquainted on a truly memorable day. David Miller.

:03:19.:03:23.

Opposition parties at the Scottish parliament have said they'll

:03:24.:03:26.

try to repeal controversial legislation on sectarianism.

:03:27.:03:31.

The Conservatives have said the "Offensive Behaviour

:03:32.:03:34.

Labour MSP James Kelly said he plans to bring forward a Member's Bill

:03:35.:03:39.

With the Liberal Democrats and Scottish Greens,

:03:40.:03:42.

there is now a majority in parliament against it.

:03:43.:03:45.

The Scottish government has said the act had delivered

:03:46.:03:47.

The largest Sikh place of worship in Scotland was opened today.

:03:48.:03:56.

The gurdwara or temple has taken six years to build,

:03:57.:03:58.

Almost every piece of raw material has been imported from India.

:03:59.:04:05.

The building will be made available to the general public when it's

:04:06.:04:08.

Around 10,000 people from Sikh communities across the UK came

:04:09.:04:13.

to the opening along with political and faith leaders.

:04:14.:04:21.

Andy Murray has beaten Novak Djokovic to win the Italian Open.

:04:22.:04:27.

On his 29th birthday, the Scot recorded his first win

:04:28.:04:29.

against the World Number One on clay in five attempts.

:04:30.:04:41.

Last weekend, Andy Murray lost to Novak Djokovic in the Mardrid

:04:42.:04:43.

But this afternoon in Rome, he made a statement of intent

:04:44.:04:47.

He then went on to take the set by 6-3.

:04:48.:04:52.

But it took the British Number One an hour and 35

:04:53.:04:55.

It came in straight sets, and he took the second set

:04:56.:04:59.

The victory means Murray will return to the world number two ranking,

:05:00.:05:03.

ahead of the French Open in Paris, which begins on May 22nd.

:05:04.:05:06.

In football, there were three Premiership matches today

:05:07.:05:08.

Sportscene has all the weekend highlights.

:05:09.:05:11.

So if you don't want to know the scores, look away now.

:05:12.:05:19.

It's over to Kirsteen now with the weather forecast

:05:20.:05:21.

Good evening. High pressure remains in charge of proceedings over the

:05:22.:05:31.

next day or so but something of a change is afoot after that. Tonight

:05:32.:05:36.

will be dry with one or two showers across the far north. The clearest

:05:37.:05:40.

skies will be through central and southern Scotland and we could have

:05:41.:05:44.

a touch of ground frost for sheltered rural areas, so gardeners,

:05:45.:05:48.

beware. Tomorrow we start the day on a drying out there will be plenty of

:05:49.:05:55.

sunshine around. A few showers across the western and Northern

:05:56.:05:58.

Isles, the north-west Highlands, and through much of the great Glen in

:05:59.:06:03.

towards Inverness, the north-east and central and southern Scotland,

:06:04.:06:06.

dry with plenty of brightness and sunshine around and temperatures

:06:07.:06:10.

around eight or nine Celsius. As we go through the day there will be

:06:11.:06:14.

some infill of cloud through central and southern parts and across the UK

:06:15.:06:18.

as a whole we are under the influence of high pressure, keeping

:06:19.:06:21.

is largely dry and settled with plenty of brightness and sunshine.

:06:22.:06:26.

Highs of 19 Celsius across the south-east, but for us in Scotland,

:06:27.:06:30.

around 15 or 16 Celsius at best and not feeling too bad at all with

:06:31.:06:36.

light winds in the sunshine. Towards evening, it stays dry, brightness

:06:37.:06:39.

and sunshine around and some light and patchy rain feeding into the

:06:40.:06:43.

north-west. As we go into Tuesday, high pressure begins to lose its

:06:44.:06:46.

grip on the weather and it becomes replaced by low-pressure. We start

:06:47.:06:50.

the day with a lot of dry, bright weather although it becomes

:06:51.:06:53.

increasingly cloudy with some rain moving into the West.

:06:54.:06:56.

Until then, from everyone on the weekend team, enjoy what's

:06:57.:07:01.
