Two people have died and three others have been injured after a car

crashed into water in a cemetery in Glasgow early this morning.

The 21-year-old driver Kieran Lundie and one of his female passengers,

24-year-old Gemma McMonagle, were pronounced dead at the scene.

Floral tributes have been placed at the scene where two people died this

morning. It was just before 1am when a car travelling north, out of the

city, careered off the road, smashed into the railings and ended up in

water. Police, fire and ambulance followed soon after the crash but

the 21-year-old male driver and one of his 24-year-old female passengers

were pronounced dead at the scene. There were three other passengers,

two men, one women, were taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on the

south side of Glasgow and the woman is in a critical condition, one man

is stable, and the other man escaped without serious injury. The police

this afternoon are appealing for anyone who may have seen anything

witnessed the crash to come forward with any information they had.

Thousands of steam enthusiasts turned out as the Flying Scotsman

It followed a U-turn by Network Rail, which said

on Friday the engine could not travel to Fife and the Borders.

This is arguably the most famous Scotsman in the world, and the

crowds here are clearly delighted to see the locomotive back in the city

of this scale almost didn't go ahead because the process was not

undertaken properly -- wants answers. This project should not

have been jeopardised in the way it was, but I'm thankfully went ahead

due to the interventions. This evening the Flying Scotsman left

Waverley Station bound for Fife. The root of the locomotive over the

Forth Bridge, and two of the country's engineering masterpieces

Good evening. High pressure remains in charge of proceedings over the

next day or so but something of a change is afoot after that. Tonight

will be dry with one or two showers across the far north. The clearest

skies will be through central and southern Scotland and we could have

a touch of ground frost for sheltered rural areas, so gardeners,

beware. Tomorrow we start the day on a drying out there will be plenty of

sunshine around. A few showers across the western and Northern

Isles, the north-west Highlands, and through much of the great Glen in

towards Inverness, the north-east and central and southern Scotland,

dry with plenty of brightness and sunshine around and temperatures

around eight or nine Celsius. As we go through the day there will be

some infill of cloud through central and southern parts and across the UK

as a whole we are under the influence of high pressure, keeping
