Stewart Hosie is to step down as the SNP's Deputy Leader

The announcement comes after recent tabloid allegations

Stewart Hosie took over the job from Nicola

Sturgeon when she became party leader 18 months ago.

Newspapers are reporting that both he and Angus MacNeil had affairs

with the same woman. Stuart Hosie recently separated from his wife. Ms

Robertson is a close friend and ally of the First Minister who has

thanked Mr Hosie for his service and wished him well. Nicola Sturgeon

says she expects him to continue to make a valuable contribution to the

SNP. The BBC understands he will not lay

a leading role in the party's summer Mr Hosey says he will

concentrate on his Dundee constituency in his role

at Westminster, where he was reappointed as SNP group

of MPs earlier this week. Nominations for his work placement

as Deputy Leader of the party are open

until the beginning of August. Thousands of fans have lined

We have pretty much seen the last of today's showers. We have seen lovely
