Two United Airlines pilots have been arrested at Glasgow Airport

on suspicion of being over the alcohol limit.

The BBC understands they were breathalysed on the flight

deck as passengers began to board a US-bound plane.

The two pilots are men aged 35 and 45 years old.

They were stopped here at Glasgow Airport

They were on a United Airlines flight to New York.

They have been arrested for allegedly being over

But alcohol limits are stricter on drivers than pilots. These are the

legal limits. Last month, two Air Transat pilots were detained at

Glasgow airport as they prepared for a flight to Canada over allegations

that they were wrong. This latest flight had 141 passengers on board.

They were delayed by over ten hours as a replacement crew was found. As

for the two pilots, they remain in police custody and are due to appear

at Paisley Sheriff Court tomorrow. The last remaining BHS store

wound up in June. On a personal level, really sad for the staff who

have given years of service to BHS and for its loyal customers it is

sad to see a major feature of our retail landscape no longer here. We

are robust retail city and we think we can make a real difference over

the next few years. The loss of 11,000 UK jobs, 520 of those in

Scotland. The end of an era but the BHS story is far from closed.

A series of summits have been planned to look at ways to boost

the rural economy in Scotland and consider how best to protect

In response, an SNP spokesman said the Scottish Conservatives should

not lecture anybody about stability, given the confusion which has

followed the Brexit vote and the potential economic

clans, temperatures falling here to 4 degrees or 5 degrees. Elsewhere

typically 10 degrees. A lovely start tomorrow with good sunny spells,

that cloud and knees pulling away to the North East. Then we will see a

change with cloud pushing into the West and the sunshine more hazy.

This band of light rain initially is any far West by the end of the

afternoon. A fresh breeze as well. I tomorrow of 19 20 Celsius.
