In the first of two finals in this year's Diamond League,

:01:19.:01:22.

16 Diamond Race titles will be decided tonight in an evening

:01:23.:01:25.

We are back in Switzerland where the city of Zurich

:01:26.:01:29.

Your commentators at the stadium are Tim Hutchings and Steve Cram.

:01:30.:01:37.

We were here of course for the European

:01:38.:01:40.

Championship in 2014, lots of memories from that.

:01:41.:01:47.

We begin tonight with a non-Diamond league race.

:01:48.:01:51.

This is not a Diamond Race but we have Eilidh Doyle

:01:52.:02:00.

The American, Little, looking to make some

:02:01.:02:08.

A great lane draw for Doyle in the pink shoes in lane four.

:02:09.:02:30.

Third from left has got off quite quick.

:02:31.:02:39.

Petersen moving well, looking very strong.

:02:40.:02:41.

She runs her races, perfectly measured

:02:42.:02:42.

The World Championship silver medallist last year,

:02:43.:02:56.

of whom so much was expected in this Olympic year.

:02:57.:03:02.

Maybe Little is getting it right here, albeit

:03:03.:03:04.

Doyle in second place in lane four but has some work to do

:03:05.:03:10.

Petersen comes through very strongly in lane six.

:03:11.:03:17.

It's all too late in this 2016 summer.

:03:18.:03:24.

She has a relatively poor form since the Olympic trial,

:03:25.:03:34.

sixth in Monaco and London, fifth one week ago.

:03:35.:03:36.

A great run, nonetheless and we can confirm the result

:03:37.:03:48.

of the 400 metres hurdles, with Little finding her

:03:49.:03:51.

The women's pole vault was held the night before on the main station

:03:52.:04:03.

A large enthusiastic crowd of fans and commuters were treated

:04:04.:04:08.

to a close-up view of a high-quality competition which included a gold

:04:09.:04:10.

It was Great Britain's Holly Bradshaw who claimed the victory.

:04:11.:04:21.

4.76m at the first attempt, which would prove to be

:04:22.:04:30.

A season's best for Bradshaw and her third best ever.

:04:31.:04:34.

Stefanidi, the Olympic champion, had passed due to earlier failures

:04:35.:04:37.

Sandi Morris also rued an early miss.

:04:38.:04:44.

She cleared 4.76 too but lost out to Bradshaw.

:04:45.:04:49.

This was not a Diamond League event but it was a significant win

:04:50.:04:52.

for Holly against the Olympic medallist.

:04:53.:04:54.

A couple of competitions left, she's not ready yet

:04:55.:04:56.

A great win in an unusual venue, just the ticket for Holly.

:04:57.:05:04.

Still to come, four of the world's most decorated 200 metre runners go

:05:05.:05:07.

British 1500 metre record-holder Laura Muir is still in the race

:05:08.:05:15.

All the protagonists are here for the women's 800 metres

:05:16.:05:20.

And the stacked 100 metres features Kendra Harrison and Ruth Jebet leads

:05:21.:05:32.

the field in the women's steeplechase.

:05:33.:05:42.

Next on the track on the far side, the men's 5000 metres.

:05:43.:05:45.

Look at the list of names going through there.

:05:46.:05:50.

This could well be very close, in terms of winning

:05:51.:05:54.

He has to make up eight points on Edris.

:05:55.:06:21.

With double points, if you win tonight, you get 20

:06:22.:06:24.

and if you come second, their positions would be reversed.

:06:25.:06:26.

They are looking of course, to get under 13 minutes here.

:06:27.:06:56.

When you think back to all of the great 5000 metres over

:06:57.:06:59.

the years, you can remember the world record being broken

:07:00.:07:01.

No Mo Farah of course but a chance for some of the others to get quick

:07:02.:07:16.

times and certainly for Kejelcha to have a big payday.

:07:17.:07:17.

The Olympic silver medallist in the steeplechase.

:07:18.:07:26.

There has been discussion about whether Evan Jager can improve

:07:27.:07:28.

Let's not forget Ryan Hill who had a fantastic run

:07:29.:07:35.

in Paris in 3000 metres last week, last Saturday.

:07:36.:07:37.

There were so many men in great form in Paris,

:07:38.:07:43.

the 3000, who are running here again tonight.

:07:44.:07:46.

I'm optimistic we will see several men go under 13 minutes

:07:47.:07:49.

but they have not got to go with the pace.

:07:50.:07:56.

62 seconds per lap is 12.55 tempo, it's not hanging about.

:07:57.:07:58.

They are in the pack, running around 65 for the first lap

:07:59.:08:07.

and are going even slower now, so only Evan Jager going

:08:08.:08:12.

with the pace so this will be interesting.

:08:13.:08:15.

If they keep running four or five laps, and then

:08:16.:08:17.

he is out there on his own, is he in the sort of shape to keep

:08:18.:08:21.

going if they end up running at this pace?

:08:22.:08:23.

A great field in a women's long jump.

:08:24.:08:29.

Including all three Olympic medallists.

:08:30.:08:37.

Spanovic, of course, despite jumping well

:08:38.:08:39.

in Rio, she had to settle for the bronze.

:08:40.:08:41.

She starts brilliantly in round one, in the sunshine, down

:08:42.:08:44.

Straight off the board, no wind in the stadium.

:08:45.:08:50.

She had so much but the 30 around her in those

:08:51.:09:09.

Didn't perform as well as she would have liked.

:09:10.:09:14.

Very, very tight in the first two or three rounds.

:09:15.:09:19.

She was chopping into the board there, those long legs

:09:20.:09:24.

Brittney Reese trying to respond, as she did in Rio.

:09:25.:09:36.

Now, still searching for seven metres.

:09:37.:09:45.

A great technique from Brittney Reese, so powerful.

:09:46.:09:51.

6.95, takes the lead by just two centimetres.

:09:52.:09:59.

That was the best jump of the competition so she won.

:10:00.:10:01.

In the Diamond Race, it was Spanovic who came out on top.

:10:02.:10:13.

She's pretty much had it wrapped up tonight.

:10:14.:10:19.

That's the case for quite a few of the athletes.

:10:20.:10:26.

There's many events where that is not the case.

:10:27.:10:29.

Interesting thing in the 5000 metres, Evan Jager went

:10:30.:10:31.

That is the sort of pace we are asking for.

:10:32.:10:36.

They are continuing to run at a slow pace, the pack.

:10:37.:10:41.

Settled down a little bit in 62s, but running sub-13 minutes.

:10:42.:10:54.

It's about 11 seconds, actually, now.

:10:55.:10:56.

They are showing no signs of picking it up.

:10:57.:11:02.

I just wonder whether they realise it is Jager up there.

:11:03.:11:05.

Some of the Ethiopians running in 5000 metres,

:11:06.:11:09.

they may not realise that Jager has the ability

:11:10.:11:12.

perhaps to run under 13, so this is hugely interesting.

:11:13.:11:22.

The Olympic and world champion, Perkovic, leads,

:11:23.:11:35.

You can laugh all you want because the big pressure

:11:36.:11:49.

Well, very modest three opening rounds from the French woman.

:11:50.:12:02.

But she is struggling to get anywhere near that.

:12:03.:12:15.

She opened with 57 and then 58 and then 60.

:12:16.:12:18.

63.91, second place but long way down.

:12:19.:12:34.

67.98 in round four, no throw in round five.

:12:35.:12:36.

You can see out there just over the 70-metre line,

:12:37.:12:50.

68.44 for Perkovic , by far the longest throw

:12:51.:13:02.

About as good as it can get from Sandra Perkovic.

:13:03.:13:09.

She's ahead of the French, Melina Robert-Michon.

:13:10.:13:11.

Less than three laps to go for Evan Jager but the chase is on.

:13:12.:13:15.

Evan Jager has cut himself loose of the pacemaker,

:13:16.:13:28.

They have slowed in the fourth kilometer.

:13:29.:13:36.

There are not going to be any fast times here tonight,

:13:37.:13:44.

but what needs to be sorted out is who is going to win this

:13:45.:13:47.

Kejelcha hopes by winning tonight, he hopes to guarantee he gets

:13:48.:13:55.

the big pot but Evan Jager has messed up the party a little

:13:56.:13:58.

Kejelcha could still be second if he does not catch Evan Jager.

:13:59.:14:04.

So Evan Jager with two laps to go, can he hang on?

:14:05.:14:07.

That fourth kilometer was his slowest.

:14:08.:14:18.

He leads the pack though, but the gap is 50 metres.

:14:19.:14:20.

I just think he has got the strength and experience

:14:21.:14:23.

He is inexperienced but frankly, this is just pure

:14:24.:14:36.

As I speak, every metre, it closes and it closes,

:14:37.:15:00.

Wouldn't you like to have a head start of a good 35 metres,

:15:01.:15:10.

maybe even more, going into the bell?

:15:11.:15:12.

The two big kickers at the back of the pack could catch him.

:15:13.:15:30.

He's just starting to look a little tired down the back straight.

:15:31.:15:36.

He was 12.15 at the bell, went 5.5 seconds down.

:15:37.:15:38.

Gebhriwet lets loose, and he is chasing him down.

:15:39.:15:49.

If he won this, and other positions depended on it,

:15:50.:15:51.

He has been out there for so long, a brave effort from him,

:15:52.:16:00.

Gebhriwet coming through to take the win.

:16:01.:16:12.

Chelimo will be second, a very tired Jager will hang on for third.

:16:13.:16:15.

They all looked at each other, and for a long time it looked

:16:16.:16:25.

He picked up a little bit in the last 600 metres,

:16:26.:16:35.

I am surprised the pack let Jager go in the first place.

:16:36.:16:44.

Disappointing, really, because they have to run tactically

:16:45.:16:53.

over the 12 and a half laps, but the conditions are as good

:16:54.:16:56.

I don't think he realises, because he was just winning

:16:57.:17:03.

the race, but because he won and others were not inside the top

:17:04.:17:08.

Confirmation of the Diamond Race standings at the end.

:17:09.:17:21.

Gebhriwet, jumping from 15 points to 35, gets ahead of a disconsolate

:17:22.:17:24.

The winners of the past four Olympic titles take

:17:25.:17:35.

Double Olympic sprint champion Elaine Thompson faces Dafne

:17:36.:17:47.

She cannot be caught in the Diamond Race and is keen

:17:48.:17:53.

for revenge after losing out to Thompson in Rio.

:17:54.:17:59.

Kambundji will get a roar from the crowd, very popular.

:18:00.:18:14.

Inside Elaine Thompson, the double Olympic champion from Rio.

:18:15.:18:21.

Ahye from Trinidad and Tobago was sixth in Rio.

:18:22.:18:33.

She was fifth last year in Beijing over 100 metres.

:18:34.:18:38.

Allyson Felix, a six-time Olympic champion.

:18:39.:18:47.

She ran in the Olympic trials at 400.

:18:48.:18:53.

This young lady, the Jamaican, Elaine Thompson, at 24,

:18:54.:18:56.

double Olympic champion, then she won in Paris last

:18:57.:18:58.

Dafne Schippers, the third fastest athlete in history.

:18:59.:19:11.

Dafne Schippers, Elaine Thompson, Allyson Felix, in five, six, seven.

:19:12.:19:28.

Veronica Campbell-Brown, only sixth in Lausanne, certainly not the force

:19:29.:19:37.

she was. Dina Asher-Smith, the young British runner in fabulous form. She

:19:38.:19:40.

should go well. Kambundji, seventh in Lausanne

:19:41.:19:42.

exactly a week ago tonight, a semifinalist in Rio in 100

:19:43.:19:45.

metres and 200 metres. I got the impression that Schippers

:19:46.:19:53.

dipped a little early. We will have to wait and see

:19:54.:20:23.

what the computer says. I thought Allyson Felix would come

:20:24.:20:35.

through more strongly in the second half.

:20:36.:20:38.

21.85, a Diamond League record by a Elaine Thompson.

:20:39.:20:41.

Dafne Schippers, she burnt the bend this time, and Elaine Thompson

:20:42.:20:47.

That is what Schippers is normally so good at.

:20:48.:20:53.

This time, just tying up in the last 25-30 metres.

:20:54.:20:57.

This is where she's normally good and holds it together,

:20:58.:21:05.

but look at Thompson, still trying to keep it relaxed.

:21:06.:21:08.

Look at the tension in Schippers's face,

:21:09.:21:12.

Consolation as well, Dafne Schippers was already clear

:21:13.:21:28.

in terms of winning the Diamond Race.

:21:29.:21:30.

She had it at five metres out, didn't she?

:21:31.:21:35.

We can go now to the men's shot put competition.

:21:36.:21:57.

Tom Walsh, the bronze medal from Rio.

:21:58.:21:59.

Commonwealth silver medallist two years ago.

:22:00.:22:05.

He has had a fabulous couple of years.

:22:06.:22:06.

He won in Paris by one centimetre last week.

:22:07.:22:16.

A fabulous effort in Paris, where he threw 22 metres exactly.

:22:17.:22:35.

Crouser, the Olympic champion, took everyone by surprise

:22:36.:22:37.

He had the world youth title in 2009.

:22:38.:22:45.

That, for Crouser, at 22 metres exactly.

:22:46.:22:55.

The best of his opening three rounds was only 20.89.

:22:56.:23:14.

Joe Kovacs, there, the Olympic silver medallist and world

:23:15.:23:22.

21.20, the best of his series, in third place.

:23:23.:23:29.

Tom Walsh is indeed the winner with 22.20

:23:30.:23:37.

Tom Walsh on this occasion puts the best of them behind him.

:23:38.:23:49.

Ryan Crouser second, Joe Kovacs third.

:23:50.:23:59.

After her disappointment in the Olympic final,

:24:00.:24:01.

Britain's Laura Muir bounced back at last week's Diamond League

:24:02.:24:04.

meeting in Paris with a new PB and winning time, taking her to 13th

:24:05.:24:07.

on the all-time list for 1500 metres and left Olympic champion

:24:08.:24:09.

Faith Kipyegon behind for the first time this year.

:24:10.:24:22.

Repeat result would see her win the Diamond.

:24:23.:24:27.

She would have to overcome a field packed with many

:24:28.:24:30.

The women's 1500 metres, and what a field we have here.

:24:31.:24:35.

Pretty much the Olympic final here with one or two differences.

:24:36.:24:41.

Jenny Meadows is doing the pacemaking job.

:24:42.:24:44.

Laura Muir has had the season of her life.

:24:45.:24:51.

There is the woman who won gold on the day, Faith Kipyegon.

:24:52.:24:59.

For Laura Muir, Scotland's finest, two British records this year,

:25:00.:25:09.

a world-leading 3.55 in Paris last week,

:25:10.:25:10.

If Laura Muir can win this race, she can catch Faith Kipyegon.

:25:11.:25:18.

Double points tonight, of course, so is Laura Muir going to go for it?

:25:19.:25:22.

It was her frontrunning tactics in Paris that took everybody,

:25:23.:25:25.

not so much by surprise because she has done it before,

:25:26.:25:28.

but the power of her running as the pacemakers dropped out.

:25:29.:25:34.

She wants Jenny Meadows to go off at a steady pace through 800

:25:35.:25:40.

Laura Muir will be ready to pick it up from there.

:25:41.:25:45.

Kipyegon this time, I'm pretty sure, will not let

:25:46.:25:56.

Laura Muir get away as easily as she did in Paris,

:25:57.:26:04.

though I am not sure there was much she could have done about it.

:26:05.:26:07.

It is exciting, because while it is predictable,

:26:08.:26:09.

you know when Laura Muir lines up you will have a tough race.

:26:10.:26:12.

They know they will get tested tonight.

:26:13.:26:14.

The only problem is, from Laura's perspective,

:26:15.:26:16.

You know you're going to get this long charge from home

:26:17.:26:24.

from about 1000 metres out, and they can prepare mentally

:26:25.:26:26.

and physically, but that is a quick opener.

:26:27.:26:28.

Jenny is obviously a great 800 metres runner and is good at judging

:26:29.:26:40.

pace, and she will keep this going nicely.

:26:41.:26:44.

That clicked Laura Muir into another gear and she kept

:26:45.:26:55.

Laura Muir with Kipyegon on her shoulder.

:26:56.:27:02.

Right at the back is the Polish runner.

:27:03.:27:15.

It has been a nice break since Paris last Saturday.

:27:16.:27:21.

Laura Muir has had five days of rest.

:27:22.:27:26.

Enough time to go down the track, a light session.

:27:27.:27:29.

After Paris, where she took them to hell and back,

:27:30.:27:52.

Jenny Meadows drops out after doing a good pacemaking job.

:27:53.:27:56.

Faith Kipyegon is thinking, this is not Paris and you're not

:27:57.:28:07.

Laura Muir is sitting there, trying to come back at Faith Kipyegon.

:28:08.:28:53.

Jenny Simpson looks dangerous, so does Shannon Rowbury.

:28:54.:28:58.

As they come into the home straight, it is not about the times

:28:59.:29:01.

necessarily, it is about the win tonight.

:29:02.:29:03.

Laura Muir is going to try to kick this one.

:29:04.:29:07.

Kipyegon looks spent, and Laura Muir is pulling away.

:29:08.:29:10.

Is Shannon Rowbury going to get there?

:29:11.:29:16.

How many dives across the line have we seen?

:29:17.:29:27.

Shannon Rowbury, I was just about to say that Laura Muir

:29:28.:29:31.

was going to hang on, but Shannon Rowbury,

:29:32.:29:43.

with that lunge, may well have robbed her of the victory

:29:44.:29:46.

overall as well, because she had to get the win, given that

:29:47.:29:49.

A very different race to Paris, but a quick time nonetheless.

:29:50.:29:57.

Reversing the positions of Paris, when Simpson finished ahead of her.

:29:58.:30:07.

Laura Muir did everything she could here.

:30:08.:30:21.

The Olympic champion is truly not the force of a couple of weeks back.

:30:22.:30:24.

Kipyegon nearly shut the door down on Laura Muir.

:30:25.:30:27.

In lane two, if she had stuck to the curve,

:30:28.:30:29.

Rowberry could've found it tough with some traffic to get

:30:30.:30:31.

Than her legs give way under her.

:30:32.:30:34.

That is what you call giving your all.

:30:35.:30:37.

Well, Kipyegon ended up actually seventh,

:30:38.:30:39.

and who would have predicted that before tonight?

:30:40.:30:40.

She only had to finish fourth or fifth and that

:30:41.:30:45.

Not only lost, a poor race by her standards.

:30:46.:30:54.

I did not know if I had her or not, but I'm over the moon.

:30:55.:31:08.

I wanted to do the same as Paris, and I knew if I ran a good

:31:09.:31:13.

I could not hold off at the end, but was very close.

:31:14.:31:27.

Braz, one of the biggest shocks in Rio.

:31:28.:31:28.

In front of his home crowd in the pole vault.

:31:29.:31:31.

There he goes clear, no trouble at all.

:31:32.:31:40.

Took three attempts at 5.62, a little while ago.

:31:41.:31:47.

But the world junior champion back in 2012, he has been

:31:48.:31:51.

there or thereabouts, fourth in the World Indoors in 2014

:31:52.:31:56.

He is passing at the next height, 5.78.

:31:57.:32:10.

A little hiccup earlier on, first attempt.

:32:11.:32:13.

5.78 for the Olympic champion from London.

:32:14.:32:15.

A silver medallist, of course, in Rio.

:32:16.:32:16.

Can you believe he was on the podium in Rio in tears?

:32:17.:32:29.

Desperately bad behaviour by a small section

:32:30.:32:30.

How he would love to round off his season here with a fine performance,

:32:31.:32:45.

5.78, he cleared, and there, at 5.84.

:32:46.:33:07.

Throws the gauntlet down to the others.

:33:08.:33:11.

Thiago Braz da Silva is there, having passed at 5.78.

:33:12.:33:20.

Many thought he would take the Olympic title,

:33:21.:33:28.

but he had to settle for bronze in Rio.

:33:29.:33:43.

The Olympic bronze medallist in four.

:33:44.:33:46.

Hudson-Smith, Olympic finalist, he goes in sixth.

:33:47.:33:49.

Without much delay at all, they get under way.

:33:50.:34:02.

Oh, my word, that is Hudson-Smith who has pulled up in lane six.

:34:03.:34:12.

Also an aggressive run, from the champion in lane two.

:34:13.:34:23.

A nicely judged race by LaShawn Merritt.

:34:24.:34:45.

LaShawn Merritt wins for the fifth time here.

:34:46.:35:12.

He now has 50 points and is the undisputed Diamond Race

:35:13.:35:19.

Merritt doing enough there, of course, for him.

:35:20.:35:26.

This Diamond Race was pretty much wrapped up for him and he just

:35:27.:35:33.

Pride takes over when he's in a scrap here.

:35:34.:35:41.

Taplin's momentum looked like he would get there,

:35:42.:35:46.

but the last five minutes, he ran out of steam.

:35:47.:35:50.

He has been a little bit inconsistent tonight at the lower

:35:51.:36:10.

So, although he is cleared 5.84, he is in second place.

:36:11.:36:29.

He had two attempts at that height and Sam Kendricks had just one.

:36:30.:36:34.

The Olympic champion took a little while to get warmed up.

:36:35.:36:39.

Nothing to do with him, the booing of the crowd.

:36:40.:36:58.

He made the gesture on the screen, didn't he?

:36:59.:37:07.

It wasn't the most educated crowd at times

:37:08.:37:16.

Whilst the controversy around Caster Semenya rumbles on,

:37:17.:37:30.

there's no disputing her dominance in the 800 metres.

:37:31.:37:32.

Tonight's race is practically a rerun of the Olympic final.

:37:33.:37:35.

With all the finalists from Rio toeing the line again here.

:37:36.:37:38.

With the Olympic title claimed, a win here would secure the Diamond

:37:39.:37:42.

Race, but will she be looking to make a point

:37:43.:37:45.

They asked for a fast pace - 55 seconds.

:37:46.:38:15.

She leads the Diamond Race by two points.

:38:16.:38:17.

I don't think too many of the others are keen to tackle that.

:38:18.:38:40.

Selina Buchel has gone off quickest of the pack.

:38:41.:38:42.

A bit of a dilemma over the first 200 in an 800 with a big field.

:38:43.:38:49.

because if you don't go out hard inside three or four lanes,

:38:50.:38:53.

But Caster Semenya, uncharacteristically,

:38:54.:38:55.

Looks like she might be up for it here.

:38:56.:39:08.

Yes, she is meant to experienced the pacemaker.

:39:09.:39:10.

Semenya, if she comes back with a reasonable

:39:11.:39:41.

She's got them breathing down her neck now, Caster Semenya.

:39:42.:39:46.

The Olympic silver-medallist in second there.

:39:47.:39:48.

She's having the run of her life at the moment, Buchel.

:39:49.:39:50.

Remember that winning time in Rio?

:39:51.:39:52.

Getting away now around the outside, Niyonsaba.

:39:53.:40:06.

Staying out in front, very impressive.

:40:07.:40:09.

Caster Semenya is going to get it.

:40:10.:40:11.

The gap behind speaks volumes once again.

:40:12.:40:20.

Biship and Sharp and Sum and Buchel have run

:40:21.:40:27.

They were behind the big three from the top of the rostrum in Rio.

:40:28.:40:35.

She must have gone 26.5 and then start slowing down and then

:40:36.:40:47.

She wants a good, smooth 55, 55 and a half.

:40:48.:40:54.

She decided, right, I've saved enough.

:40:55.:41:10.

And the debate will continue around Caster Semenya.

:41:11.:41:12.

She will do what you say she can do, winning races and did

:41:13.:41:15.

For her, 2016 has been a fabulous year.

:41:16.:41:19.

A good run from the American, Grace, in fifth.

:41:20.:41:25.

Still to come, Kendra Harrison and Cindy Ofili in the women's

:41:26.:41:38.

The steeplechase with Ruth Jebet and the traditional women's

:41:39.:41:55.

In the pole vault, the Olympic champion, Thiago Braz, he's retired.

:41:56.:42:03.

That leaves just Renaud Lavillenie and Sam Kendricks.

:42:04.:42:05.

Sam Kendricks really taking it to Renaud Lavillenie here.

:42:06.:42:11.

He is quick and smooth and when he gets it right,

:42:12.:42:22.

He has had one or two bits of good fortune in the last couple of weeks

:42:23.:42:34.

No world champion tonight - he was a late withdrawal earlier

:42:35.:42:47.

So, he's looking to respond at 5.90, Renaud Lavillenie.

:42:48.:42:57.

And smiles, it's good to see that, because we did not see too much

:42:58.:43:09.

Attacking it, as he always does, great athleticism.

:43:10.:43:14.

We have highlights of the evening here.

:43:15.:43:33.

Harrison, the new world-record holder in lane five.

:43:34.:43:35.

Cindy Ofili only just missed out on a medal in Rio.

:43:36.:43:46.

Harrison, under a little bit of pressure here.

:43:47.:44:08.

Good running from Cindy Ofili, also finishing quick.

:44:09.:44:19.

The first hurdle, second hurdle, thinking, here we go,

:44:20.:44:26.

a pretty ordinary night at the office.

:44:27.:44:43.

She matched her for five or six flights.

:44:44.:44:49.

I think she has put a target on her back.

:44:50.:44:58.

They are thinking, if you can do it, I can, too.

:44:59.:45:00.

She is so quick between the barriers.

:45:01.:45:02.

Cindy Ofili closer to her than she has been

:45:03.:45:07.

Harrison getting the win, great season.

:45:08.:45:13.

But the major, major hole in August when she was not at Rio.

:45:14.:45:17.

A very good second place for Cindy Ofili just ahead.

:45:18.:45:24.

Finishing ahead of Jasmine Stowers in third.

:45:25.:45:30.

The pole vault is complete, Kendricks and Renaud

:45:31.:45:32.

They both cleared 5.90 at the second time of asking.

:45:33.:45:44.

I don't suppose he minds, he has that gold medal

:45:45.:45:49.

You can see the men lined up for the 100 metres.

:45:50.:46:10.

The Diamond Race leader, on 20 points, is Justin Gatlin.

:46:11.:46:21.

It is basically Meite versus Rodgers.

:46:22.:46:28.

Powell, very close to his season's best.

:46:29.:46:58.

Jamaica won the last six editions of the 100, and now it is seven

:46:59.:47:07.

Number 97 in terms of legal sub-ten-second clockings.

:47:08.:47:21.

No Justin Gatlin, who has won a couple of Diamond Leagues.

:47:22.:47:24.

Gatlin and one or two others not here, so it was up for grabs.

:47:25.:47:31.

26-24 between Powell and Meite, tough to take.

:47:32.:47:46.

A busy night in the field in the high jump.

:47:47.:47:56.

An event which hasn't been at its best this year.

:47:57.:48:06.

Kind of continuing what has been a pretty solid year for her.

:48:07.:48:20.

She cleared 1.94 earlier in the season.

:48:21.:48:24.

Tonight is an indication of what has gone on all season.

:48:25.:48:44.

and has pretty much had the competition all to herself.

:48:45.:48:57.

She was miles ahead in the Diamond Race.

:48:58.:49:02.

She decided to put the bar up to over two metres

:49:03.:49:05.

to have a bit of a go, but it was not to be.

:49:06.:49:10.

-- you would not say it was high, but she doesn't mind.

:49:11.:49:27.

The Diamond Race winner, a great year for the Spaniard.

:49:28.:49:31.

On the track, it is the men's 400 metres hurdles.

:49:32.:49:39.

We had a late withdrawal, the world champion who has been

:49:40.:49:42.

Clement is pretty sure, unless something befalls him here.

:49:43.:49:59.

Watch for Javier Culson getting away.

:50:00.:50:14.

Outside, Clement, Hussein, they are very quickly

:50:15.:50:15.

It is Javier Culson, trying to chase down Kerron Clement.

:50:16.:50:31.

This looks, as we head into the home straight, like the local is giving

:50:32.:50:35.

Clement has to hold off Javier Culson.

:50:36.:50:42.

Javier Culson suddenly thought, I have got a chance here.

:50:43.:51:04.

Hussein was being cheered on by the crowd then fell apart.

:51:05.:51:09.

Then through the melee, Clement woke up and came

:51:10.:51:11.

Clement finishes strongly, which is critical.

:51:12.:51:21.

Look at Clement - brilliant determination,

:51:22.:51:23.

He takes it eventually fairly comfortably.

:51:24.:51:33.

Clement, then, with those 20 points in the end,

:51:34.:51:35.

extending his lead over Javier Culson.

:51:36.:51:54.

This season, Ruth Jebet became only the second woman to break

:51:55.:51:59.

the nine-minute barrier in the 3000 metres steeplechase.

:52:00.:52:04.

She went on to be Olympic champion in Rio, and last week in Paris,

:52:05.:52:08.

The only prize left is the Diamond Trophy,

:52:09.:52:11.

but to win that, she will have to beat the world champion

:52:12.:52:14.

Ten Rio finalists going in this event.

:52:15.:52:36.

Hyvin Kiyeng was the silver medallist.

:52:37.:52:53.

Some athletes have just looked a little tired this evening.

:52:54.:52:57.

Some really good athletes out there tonight.

:52:58.:53:17.

Quigley reaching new ground in Paris, though only 9th.

:53:18.:53:19.

She had a frustrating time, the American, at the US trials,

:53:20.:53:28.

She was so close to a place in the Rio squad, the legs

:53:29.:53:33.

going from under her on the home straight.

:53:34.:53:35.

One gets the feeling that the world record-holder Jebet

:53:36.:53:47.

run of the season was played out in Paris.

:53:48.:53:52.

Thomas Rohler, he will never forget 2016, will he?

:53:53.:53:56.

The new Olympic champion, the first that Germany have had

:53:57.:53:58.

A big first-round throw from Thomas Rohler.

:53:59.:54:24.

In the hotel in Rio, the big former East German thrower

:54:25.:54:30.

I am sure he was enjoying watching Thomas Rohler win.

:54:31.:54:41.

The opening throw took some catching, but the Czech managed

:54:42.:54:56.

He was ninth in Rio, through well in Paris

:54:57.:55:25.

He was close to his personal best in Paris, this

:55:26.:55:40.

That was good enough for third place.

:55:41.:55:49.

Confirmation of the win for Jakub Vadlejch.

:55:50.:55:54.

The Olympic champion settled for second on this occasion.

:55:55.:56:04.

Ruth Jebet now, she won't get the world record, that's for sure.

:56:05.:56:08.

She has a lead of about 15 metres on Hyvin Kiyeng,

:56:09.:56:18.

who must be getting sick of the sight of her former

:56:19.:56:21.

Emma Coburn moves into fourth place, as you can see,

:56:22.:56:29.

It is Chepkoech in the sights of the American.

:56:30.:56:35.

She has mixed it so well, race after race, with the Kenyans

:56:36.:56:40.

and the best of the rest over these last few weeks.

:56:41.:56:43.

By contrast, the bizarre thing about the Kenyan runners

:56:44.:56:55.

and the Bahraini, Ruth Jebet, is that they have not worked

:56:56.:57:00.

Common sense tells you that they could go better over the barriers

:57:01.:57:06.

There are a lot of women who would like to run

:57:07.:57:18.

Nine minutes is considered international standard

:57:19.:57:21.

If you get below 8.50, you can win races.

:57:22.:57:24.

She comes round to take the bell now.

:57:25.:57:30.

She is ahead of everybody in a general sense

:57:31.:57:32.

I think I agree, she must, at some point, be able to go

:57:33.:57:39.

Ruth Jebet, into the final lap with just over 300 metres to run.

:57:40.:57:46.

This, to round off the most astonishing season from her.

:57:47.:57:52.

Having a glance at the big screen to check the gap behind her.

:57:53.:58:06.

Emma Coburn has moved into third place.

:58:07.:58:10.

She's working hard with 250 metres to go.

:58:11.:58:17.

Ruth Jebet, accelerating into the final water

:58:18.:58:19.

Her first big title was the Asian Games title two years ago.

:58:20.:58:32.

Now she is Olympic champion, world record-holder,

:58:33.:58:35.

and after a run of this calibre, she will be the Diamond Race holder.

:58:36.:58:47.

Kiyeng in second, Chepkoech in third.

:58:48.:58:58.

After the exploits of last week in Paris, it was billed

:58:59.:59:00.

You can understand the meeting promoters for doing that.

:59:01.:59:12.

But I am sure that Ruth Jebet was thinking, my goodness,

:59:13.:59:15.

She picked her time to run away, and then enjoyed a little jog

:59:16.:59:19.

The second round of the men's triple jump.

:59:20.:59:43.

Not one of the taller triple jumpers.

:59:44.:59:52.

A small improvement by two centimetres for Carter.

:59:53.:00:04.

Christian Taylor, his big jump coming in round two.

:00:05.:00:15.

He is, let's not forget, the second longest jumper in history.

:00:16.:00:35.

Last, the world title in Beijing, he came very close, within three

:00:36.:00:39.

That's the smile we are used to seeing, back in full force.

:00:40.:00:50.

Despite that right elbow in the sand, in the sixth and final

:00:51.:01:00.

Christian Taylor all smiles at the end of this.

:01:01.:01:16.

They like that tradition in Switzerland in the zero

:01:17.:01:18.

and traditionally we finish with the 4x100 relay,

:01:19.:01:20.

They did exactly the same in Rio, took them to the gold medal.

:01:21.:01:28.

With Elaine Thompson down the back straight.

:01:29.:01:35.

Tianna Bartoletta trying to run down the Jamaican team.

:01:36.:01:50.

Already opened up a big gap on Germany.

:01:51.:01:55.

Jamaica in the lead with Elaine Thompson.

:01:56.:02:03.

It's all gone horribly wrong for the USA.

:02:04.:02:10.

Veronica Campbell-Brown only had to run in a straight

:02:11.:02:33.

line, which he does not always manage to do,

:02:34.:02:36.

However. 41.65, not bad at all.

:02:37.:02:40.

Plenty of national teams would love to run that quick, goodness me.

:02:41.:02:43.

I don't know what happened to the USA.

:02:44.:02:45.

She went off too early and there was no way

:02:46.:03:00.

It's been one of those nights, hasn't it?

:03:01.:03:08.

Lots of big names winning coming through to win the Diamond Race

:03:09.:03:10.

The Diamond League return for the last time this season.

:03:11.:03:41.

That's followed on BBC One by the Great City Games at 2:15pm

:03:42.:03:45.

and then on Sunday, the Great North Run,

:03:46.:03:47.

It was definitely a slight feeling of after the Lord

:03:48.:03:56.

as many of the big-name enough to head off on their holidays,

:03:57.:04:00.

not producing to make eye-catching performances.

:04:01.:04:02.

It was a foregone conclusion for some, it certainly wasn't

:04:03.:04:04.

Despite a dip in Rio, her season took one final test

:04:05.:04:13.

She watched incredulously as Shannon Rowbury won.

:04:14.:04:24.

She's still ended up as the Diamond Race winner.

:04:25.:04:29.

A lovely reward for brilliant season.

:04:30.:04:30.

A wild card entry to the World Championships

:04:31.:04:32.

Join us next week when the remaining Diamond Races will be
