Of The evening. `` good evening. The man accused of murdering 46`year`old

Colin Chevalier has appeared in court in Jersey. 35`year`old Darren

Neil McCormack has been remanded in custody following a short hearing.

He didn't enter a plea. Colin Chevalier was found in a flat in St

Helier at the weekend. Jen Smith was in court. Darren Neil McCormack

appeared before the Royal Court today`charged with the murder of

Colin Chevalier. The body of the 46`year`old was found at his home in

Duhamal Place on Saturday night. The Royal Court was sitting here at the

Magistrates Court. Mr McCormack appeared wearing a white and blue

addidas T`shirt. His lawyer ` Advocate Julian Gollop ` told the

court he would reserve his plea. The 35`year`old was remanded in custody

until June the 16th. A 31`year`old woman and another

35`year`old man also held after Mr Chevalier's murder have been

released on bail. As Mr McCormack left court today, Jersey Police say

they're still looking for anyone with information to come forward.

There are more claims that sport in the Channel Islands is under threat

after an inter`insular competition was postponed due to travel

problems. The annual athletics meeting between Guernsey and Jersey

has been put on hold due to a lack of capacity on flights between the

islands. Mike Wilkins reports. The race is on, but for some of

these Guernsey athletes one of their main races of the year is off. The

reason? Well according to athletics bosses, it's due to changes to

airline and ferry schedules. The opportunity to compete against the

old rivals in Jersey may not happen. It would be a tragic blow because it

will impact. It is much easier for us to go and compete in Hampshire

than it is in Jersey which is a ridiculous For those who enjoy

competing against their old rivals it's a frustrating time. State of

affairs. Being in a sport where we had to travel overseas for all our

competitions, it is a nightmare. When you have to be in peak

condition and what you're travelling to BEC, it really gets on your

nerves. Aurigny and Blue Islands now share the route between Guernsey and

Jersey. But the boss of Aurigny told me that the airlines are not the

ones to blame. A lot of the criticism has been based on

companies who historically used the ferries to move large groups between

the islands for competitions. Fairies aren't operating and now

they expect us to magic seats. `` fairies. It is unrealistic and we're

looking forward to talking to groups to develop a plan. And it's not just

athletics having problems, cricket and swimming teams have also told

the BBC they're encountering significant problems when trying to

arrange inter island travel. But for these athletes, whether they win or

lose, they're just hoping the airline and ferry companies can help

Guernsey's Education Department's has apologised to students wrongly

told they'd secured scholarships at grant supported colleges in the

island after errors in the way eleven plus exam results were

reported. Two pupils were mistakenly told they'd won places at Ladies'

College and Elizabeth College. The department now says an investigation

is underway, and swift action will be taken.

A million pounds of taxpayers' money is being spent on overhauling the

way medical records are kept by GPs in Jersey. All fifteen island

surgeries have signed up to the new system, which will move patient

information from individual practices to a centralised store. It

means any other GPs you may see, such as the out of hours service `

will have access to your medical history if you give them permission.

We will have a list of your drugs and your allergies, your past

medical history and even more importantly, how things are

evolving. If you see your own GP in the afternoon with stomach pains, in

the evening that information will be available to the GP who you then.

Now, from slaughter house ` to art house.

Guernsey's old abbatoir could soon be the headquarters for an

international art project which will see a 30 metre long Chinese Junk

constructed at the harbour. The States have agreed to rent the

building for the next two years for the ambitious project. Penny

Elderfield reports. The man who filled the skies with

fireworks at the Beijing Olympics. Will soon be filling this rather

different space. After 150 years of being an abbatoir ` the Chinese

artist Cai Guo`Qiang could soon make this the centre of his latest

project. It will be a headquarters for us to bring in lots of students

as part of the education side of the initiative. It will be a focal point

for people to meet and learn more about the project themselves and

they will be able to walk literally across the footbridge and have a

look at the shipbuilding which will be in progress. One of the more

interesting elements of this project is perhaps what will be happening on

this land behind me. A chinese junk boat will be built from scratch.

Measuring 30 metres long, and three stories high it'll eventually be

launched. And it will sail around the world as a floating gallery. Of

course these pictures are just of a model of what it'll look like. And

just like the boat ` the hope is the project will be much bigger than

just a local art installation. While the vessel is being built, it

becomes quite hopefully add to list attraction and also an educational

initiatives. Also when the vessel is built, he's looking to have one of

his signature if explosion projects on the boat when it goes out of the

harbour. So if the Beijing Olympics are anything to go by... As well as

a lot more going on here, we should get quite a show as the ship heads
