A 34 year old woman is standing trial in Jersey accused

of stabbing her husband on Christmas Eve last year.

Marivic Vautier from the Phhlippines denies grave and criminal assault `

claiming her husband injured himself.

The Police were called to flats here at Westley Court

in St Saviour early on the dvening of the 24th of December last year.

They found Kevin Vautier lyhng in his hall with a kitchen knife

Mrs Vautier no longer lived with her husband had visited him

The prosecution claim following an argument Mrs Vautier had stabbed

But the jury also heard that Mrs Vautier told police when shd left

there was no knife in his chest and he must have stabbed himself.DNA

tests of the knife proved inconcltsive.

The defence case is due to start tomorrow.

Guernsey's Education departlent s released new evidence to trx

times world champion and fotr times British champion. He has a lot of

experience and when it came to the big points, that made a difference

They went into the 900 metrd in third place and with medal

contention but a poor set s`w them dropped to 10th place. As the

weather turned again, so did the luck for the Channel Islands. In the

10,000 metres, Guernsey had to cope with driving wind and rain `nd fog.

They ended up in 11th place. The fog is a known problem and drift in It

is the same for everyone and you just have to get on with it. It is a

bit frustrating. As Jersey returned, could they pulled

themselves back up? It was not enough for a medal on this occasion

and they were beaten by England Canada, Scotland and Australia into

fifth place. If you can put yourself into the mix, then you have a good

chance. We probably lost a few too many at 900 but to finish this is

good, and we want to do jersey proud and we will give it a dam good go

over the next few days. Two Jersey bowls teams narrowly

missed out on places in the semi finals, and Guernsey's Matt Le Ber

lost in the singles yesterd`y. But Jersey were fighting back today
