described as a hero as more details have emerged of what happened that

night. It is thought he may have been trying to protect Hannah as the

Guernsey's Health department's expecting to overspend

It does, it gets us off the ground. We were 80% sponsorship, 10% tickets

and 10% grant. The government has stepped up a bit more and we do get

help from a development fund. It is not just about tourists, it is also

By Friday, it is covering southern England. A change to thicker cloud

as we move to Friday and the weekend. High pressure is over us

for the next couple of days. The showers we saw earlier have now

moved into northern France, so it is a dry story overnight denied. Cloud

amounts likely to come and go for a while, but by dawn tomorrow morning,

enough rakes in the cloud to get a glimpse of the sunshine. Night`time

temperatures not much below 12 degrees. Tomorrow is a reasonable

day. We may start a bit cloudy, but it will break up and the sunshine

will work through. Westerly winds, a top temperature of 17 Celsius.

The outlook is dry all the way through and including the weekend.

It may be there on Friday with that weak weather system across us. For

Saturday and Sunday, bright and dry weather, and it turns warm again

with a top temperature of 23 Celsius.

The organisers of this experiment is to make people think about what

might be done to make things better. They are repeating the experiment

next month in Truro, and then in Bristol.

More lives will be saved with the construction of an upgraded

helipad at Derriford Hospital, the region's Major Trauma Centre.

From December, new air ambulances for Cornwall will

be capable of flying in the dark, but the current helipad isn't safe

However, ?1.7 million pounds has now been found to pay for

a new landing pad and construction work has already started.

Here's our Health Correspondent Sally Mountjoy.

Air ambulances in Cornwall and Devon fly more than 1800 missions every

year, but only when it is light. From December, new helicopters for

Cornwall will be able to fly in darkness. Not round the clock, but

12 hours daily, summer and winter. However, as things stand, patients

cannot be flown to Derriford at night. This patch of grass seen here

from the pilot's point of view is the hospital's helipad and it is not

safe for landing. Earlier this year, the government were told they should

fund the upgrade as there was a danger the money might not be

found. Now, the National air and even help appeal and the analyst

trust have found the ?1.7 million needed for new landing facilities.

This is the final link in the chain of helipad around the south`west.

Finally, we will have a compliant network and staff and patients can

travel safely and quickly from site to site. The safety of patients is

paramount. Getting patients he quickly and safely will save lives

and improve outcomes for patients. Derriford is the region's major

trauma centre. It is the hospital that can offer the best chance of

survival to the most critically injured patients, so it is vital

that air ambulances can get people here quickly, day or night. Devon

air and appearances will extend their operations into the hours of

darkness in 2016. What's currently serves as the helipad here in

Derriford can only be used under special arrangements because it is

not fully compliant with aviation safety standards, even for daytime

operations, and is not safe at night. Soon, work will start on a

new helipad close by, said that from early next summer, patients can be

flown his safely day or night. Now sorry we couldn't bring you

the usual edition of Spotlight last night due to a major technical

dry weather with quite thick cloud at times. A bright start for

weak weather system that will travel gradually towards us. Why the middle

of the day on Thursday, it is moving in towards the western coast of

Ireland. By the middle of the day on Friday it will be across us. It is a

weak affair, but it might give some drizzle and not for everyone, but

the gardens and farmers may welcome a bit of light rain. We still have

high pressure across southern Britain for the start of the

weekend. Most of the weather activity is to the north of us.

Don't expect a lot of sunshine this weekend. The cloud could be stubborn

and quite thick and times. The showers we saw earlier today have

now gone, and with clear skies it will turn quite cold overnight.

Winds from the north`west, and they will keep things relatively mild

across the North Coast and for the islands, but for many of us it is a

cold night. Later tonight, night`time damages get into single

Tomorrow is not a bad start. There will be some sunshine and the cloud

will increase as the day wears on. The cloud might be thick enough

across the north coast of Devon, through the western end of the

Bristol Channel, to drop some light rain. The second half of the day is

generally rather cloudy. Freshening winds from the West. Onto the times

of high water. Sorry, temperatures, between 17 and 19 degrees. For the

Isles of Scilly, it is a bright start, but the cloud will quickly

come in, so rather cloudy for the rest of the day.

The surf has improved, especially along the north coast. Serve in the

south coast will increase into Friday. For the coastal waters, the

winds are westerly. Mainly fair with good visibility. The outlook does

not look particularly bright. A lot of cloud around. On Friday they

could be some light rain or drizzle. Saturday and Sunday, both days are

dry, relatively warm, and light winds. A quiet weekend, but not
