Good evening. Welcome to the programme. A school in East London

is set to become the first in the country to soak a judicial review ``

seek a judicial review to stop the Government converting it to an

academy. The Warren school wants to stay with the local authority. The

majority of parents agree. However the Department for Education said

this week, the move should go ahead. Shakespeare doesn't just reveal love

through words, he does it through structure as well. This year ten

English class learn about these star crossed lovers, staff at the school

feel they're living out their own tragedy. Are you ready to feed back?

The school was placed in special measures by Ofsted last year. The

Education Secretary Michael Gove decided to take the school out of

the hands of the local council, by turning it into an academy. The

school and council have been fighting the plan. They were given

hope in January, when the High Court granted an injunction preventing the

move. Shortly after, an Ofsted inspection found the school was

making reasonable progress. But on Monday, the Department for Education

said the change would go ahead from September. The school and the

council are now taking action to challenge that decision.

They're applying for a judicial review. It's the first time a school

has taken the battle to this stage. They're adamant it's the right

decision for everyone. If it becomes an academy, we will see a very

different school, because it will ` this is the heart of the community.

I don't know whether people will still feel that way about the

community. The Department for Education says, "We cannot simply

stand by when a school continues to provide an unacceptable standard of

education. It is absolutely right that the Secretary of State takes

this action to bring about the best possible outcomes for pupils." (The

council will be lodging the legal papers over coming weeks and it's

clear other schools will be watch pg the case closely.

A road has been closed in south London, after a building roof

collapse. Three people were injured when the roof caved in on London

Road in norbury. Private security guards are to be

brought in to replace some of the police officers at the Houses of

Parliament. To cut costs, security screening at public entrances will

be run by a private contractor from next April.

Now thousands of cyclists brought the traffic to a halt in Central

London earlier, as they took part in a rally to get more space upon the

capital's streets. Campaigners want local councils to improve their

streets, so all Londoners, including children and the elderly can cycle

safe live. `` safely. Some of London's busiest

roads this afternoon it was cyclists only and it brought those who don't

normally brave the traffic out to play. They can't expect this sort of

space in London, they want more than they've currently got. I go quite a

long way round to use cycle lanes to get to work because I'm determined

to cycle. But it should be a lot easier. You get a lot of cyclists

cutting in and out of cars and that's where a lot of accidents

happen. When there's so many cars there isn't space. It's worse than

Paris, where I come from. I think drivers are pretty harsh on

cyclists. I really have to be super careful. Five psych tastes have died

this year in London. On Tuesday, another man was killed in a crash

with a HGV at elephant and castle. The campaigners say such deaths

could be avoided if more segregated lanes were built and infrastructure

was improved. Local authorities own the vafrt majority of London's

streets. So the timing of this here today is significant. It's ahead of

the local elections on Thursday. It's a plea to politicians to get on

board and help redesign their streets. So while the mayor says

he's spending millions on cycling infrastructure, today was about

ordinary Londoners being able to cycle safely around their

neighbourhoods. The street outside your house is properlily controlled

by your politicians. If they want to create protected space or reduce the

motor traffic, they have that in Mir power. `` their power. You can tell

them to do it. Many here are parents, their hope to be able to

cycle with children on London roads, not just when they're closed.
