Nick Clegg tells his supporters to stand firm, dismissing talk | :00:00. | :00:00.
of a leadership challenge, after a senior Lib Dem peer resigns. | :00:00. | :00:00.
That's all from the BBC News at Six, so it's goodbye from me, | :00:00. | :00:00.
and on BBC One we now join the BBC's news teams where you are. | :00:07. | :00:09.
the mayor launches a new voluntary agreement for landlords and tenants, | :00:10. | :00:13.
but will it really help the capital's hard pressed tenants? | :00:14. | :00:24.
With the accreditation, there is a set standard to meet. | :00:25. | :00:29.
The congestion charge is to go up by 15% in June. | :00:30. | :00:32.
to keep congestion levels down in the capital. | :00:33. | :00:35.
businesses assess the damage and the cost. | :00:36. | :00:46.
It was a great way to open the film, showing the city in a spectacular | :00:47. | :00:52.
way. We just asked, and they let us do it. | :00:53. | :00:55.
Tom Cruise on his delight at filming his latest film in the capital. | :00:56. | :01:06.
Good evening and welcome to the programme. | :01:07. | :01:08.
The mayor says it's a reassurance for London's two million renters, | :01:09. | :01:12.
but critics are calling his new initiative a meaningless gimmick. | :01:13. | :01:26.
The mayor has come up with an accreditation scheme so that tenants | :01:27. | :01:30.
can rent with confidence, but critics are branding the new | :01:31. | :01:35.
voluntary initiative a gimmick, saying the scheme lacks teeth. Here | :01:36. | :01:39.
is Emma North. This is not your average student | :01:40. | :01:44.
house, six bedrooms, and some entertaining space, one Jacuzzi. Nor | :01:45. | :01:48.
was this an average morning for its tenants, they'd clearly done some | :01:49. | :01:52.
cleaning, and they welcomed the mayor for a guided tour. So this is | :01:53. | :01:57.
the living room? It is a change from their last home. We lived in an | :01:58. | :02:02.
abandoned pub, more often than not we didn't have hot water. We also | :02:03. | :02:09.
have some furry friends living with us. So for the owners of a decent | :02:10. | :02:13.
property, being part of the new accreditation system seems like a | :02:14. | :02:17.
good deal. If you can present yourself as an accredited landlord, | :02:18. | :02:21.
it is something the landlord wants to do. Under the new London rental | :02:22. | :02:27.
standard, a landlord must of his property in good condition, clear | :02:28. | :02:30.
communication with tenants, and must respond quickly to any problems, but | :02:31. | :02:35.
the scheme is only voluntary and there are no fresh ways of enforcing | :02:36. | :02:40.
a tenant's writes. There are fears that the new scheme will create a | :02:41. | :02:48.
double layer of renting in London. To what degree will this offer | :02:49. | :02:52.
protection to a tenant, guarantee of tenure or rental protection that | :02:53. | :02:56.
things will not go up 20% a year? You can't do that, and in markets | :02:57. | :03:01.
where they have tried to do that, they drive properties off the | :03:02. | :03:05.
market, and you see an increase in rents, that is what happened in | :03:06. | :03:09.
Germany. Talking of rent controls, people say, stuff that, I will not | :03:10. | :03:14.
put it on the market, and lo and behold, there is a shortage. This is | :03:15. | :03:24.
very much a landlord's market, tenants do not have choice, they | :03:25. | :03:27.
have to go for the first thing they can afford, whether or not a | :03:28. | :03:29.
landlord is any good or not. This man claimed he had to withhold rent | :03:30. | :03:33.
to get the landlord to fix the hot water. Would the new scheme have | :03:34. | :03:39.
helped? I don't think... It is hard to say, because in my opinion his | :03:40. | :03:44.
skills as a landlord would that great. Maybe an accreditation scheme | :03:45. | :03:53.
might help him have better communication. The capital's | :03:54. | :03:56.
property problems are well publicised. Whether this latest | :03:57. | :03:59.
scheme works will depend on London's appetite for goodwill. | :04:00. | :04:06.
Lots more to come, including Tower Hamlets Council says | :04:07. | :04:08.
it has now received ten official complaints | :04:09. | :04:10.
about intimidation during the elections last week. | :04:11. | :04:19.
The congestion charge is to increase from ?10 to ?11.50 from mid`June. | :04:20. | :04:24.
Customers using the auto`pay system will see the rate rise to ?10.50. | :04:25. | :04:29.
TfL said that since the congestion charge was introduced in 2003, | :04:30. | :04:33.
more than ?1.2 billion of revenue has been re`invested in transport. | :04:34. | :04:40.
Well, we can get more on this now from Victoria Graham in Southwark. | :04:41. | :04:47.
Victoria. Alice, thank you, yes, as you quite | :04:48. | :04:55.
rightly say, the congestion charge hasn't risen since 2011, but it is | :04:56. | :05:04.
about to. It is going to go up by ?1.50, and for all to pay customers | :05:05. | :05:10.
it will go up to ?10.50. That is a rise of 15% across`the`board. DSLR | :05:11. | :05:19.
promising improvements. `` tear `` tear `` TfL. It has more than | :05:20. | :05:32.
doubled since it was introduced. Earlier I spoke to the chief | :05:33. | :05:36.
operating officer and asked him to justify the increase. The reason for | :05:37. | :05:41.
the congestion charge is to provide a deterrent to control the volume of | :05:42. | :05:45.
traffic in central London, make sure traffic keeps moving, make sure we | :05:46. | :05:48.
have got space for pedestrians and cycling and everything else. To | :05:49. | :05:53.
maintain that level of deterrent overtime, the charge needs to rise | :05:54. | :06:00.
broadly in line with inflation. You say you have listened to customers, | :06:01. | :06:10.
isn't this just about making a profit? It is about maintaining the | :06:11. | :06:16.
effectiveness of the congestion charge. Traffic volumes have reduced | :06:17. | :06:18.
by 20% since the day it came in, charge. Traffic volumes have reduced | :06:19. | :06:21.
by 20% since the day and they have stayed down, and it is about | :06:22. | :06:25.
maintaining that, maintaining the road space for everything that needs | :06:26. | :06:31.
to go on in central London. Well, there was a public consultation | :06:32. | :06:37.
about this earlier in the year, and TfL say they are listening to | :06:38. | :06:40.
customers. I am sure some motorists will not welcome the rise with open | :06:41. | :06:44.
arms, but there were some people I spoke to earlier in the day who | :06:45. | :06:49.
think it is a positive move. I like the idea that there is less cars on | :06:50. | :06:53.
the road, and they don't need to be on the road. I think it is well | :06:54. | :06:58.
worth it, because it enhances the experience of being in the city. | :06:59. | :07:02.
Still driving, it is part of the job. The price rise will mean a | :07:03. | :07:11.
generated income over the next five years of ?82 million. TfL say they | :07:12. | :07:15.
will reinvest that Kindertransport around London. To find out all the | :07:16. | :07:19.
details, go to the BBC London website, I am sure there will be a | :07:20. | :07:24.
discussion about this on BBC London 94.9 in the morning. | :07:25. | :07:27.
caused by a fire in Camden Market last week has been revealed. | :07:28. | :07:32.
For the properties directly affected, today was the first day | :07:33. | :07:34.
the owners were able to access their businesses. | :07:35. | :07:36.
This is how Camden should luck, bustling, business booming, not | :07:37. | :07:48.
burnt out. And yet is is how Molly's business looks, her yoga | :07:49. | :07:55.
centre was engulfed in smoke. There was a class in session, the students | :07:56. | :07:59.
were evacuated straightaway. The fire came in from under the train | :08:00. | :08:04.
tracks. This window was smashed by the heat. The fire came in up here. | :08:05. | :08:10.
This is the worst bit. This is where it came into the ceiling and the | :08:11. | :08:14.
insulation. You can see people's shoes, just left without their | :08:15. | :08:19.
shoes. We have put so much into this, it has been eight months, you | :08:20. | :08:23.
know? We put so much into it, it is completely daunting to think about | :08:24. | :08:27.
all the students going to other studios up the road, going somewhere | :08:28. | :08:31.
else and never coming back. And then there is this beautiful space, what | :08:32. | :08:35.
if it has a big scar in it and it is never the same kind of thing? The | :08:36. | :08:39.
view from her window reminds that other businesses fared even worse. | :08:40. | :08:43.
Today they were able to return to start clearing up. Businesses like | :08:44. | :08:47.
this martial arts gym run by father and son. If you close the market, no | :08:48. | :08:53.
sales, no business, you have still got to pay for everything, and | :08:54. | :08:56.
especially when you are a small trader, that is very top. After the | :08:57. | :09:01.
fire, this area of the market was closed for two days. It was not just | :09:02. | :09:06.
the properties that were gutted by the blaze that were suffering, and | :09:07. | :09:10.
to give you an idea, this may look busy, but it is about a third of the | :09:11. | :09:14.
number of people you would expect to see on a weekday. The fire brigade | :09:15. | :09:19.
to say because of the fire is likely to have been electric land it was an | :09:20. | :09:23.
accident. Traders talk of dodgy electrics. The landlord said they | :09:24. | :09:28.
weren't able to comment while investigation was under way and they | :09:29. | :09:31.
were not able to tell 20 stallholders when electricity would | :09:32. | :09:36.
be returned. Some now rely candles. We have been affected very badly, as | :09:37. | :09:42.
you can see, there are no lights. We are just opening for the sake of | :09:43. | :09:49.
opening. But we are trying. As are others, trying to rebuild their | :09:50. | :09:52.
businesses, their livelihoods. Today was the first day they were able to | :09:53. | :09:56.
make a start, and for that alone they are thankful. | :09:57. | :10:00.
Former Charlton Academy goalkeeper George Howard | :10:01. | :10:01.
is in a critical condition in a South African hospital | :10:02. | :10:04.
The 20`year`old, who has also played for Bromley and Gillingham, | :10:05. | :10:07.
is in a coma and has been on life support | :10:08. | :10:10.
since the collision, which happened last Friday. | :10:11. | :10:17.

Jeremiah Duggan, who was 22 and from north London, died in 2003. | :10:24. | :10:26.
His body was discovered on the autobahn. | :10:27. | :10:28.
but today his mother Erica claimed at a hearing | :10:29. | :10:32.
that her son was the victim of foul play. | :10:33. | :10:34.
A full inquest is expected to start in February next year. | :10:35. | :10:44.
There have been warnings today that the London housing market | :10:45. | :10:46.
could be facing a natural correction by slowing down. | :10:47. | :10:49.
The chief executive of Nationwide, Graham Beale, | :10:50. | :10:50.
told the BBC that buyers were starting to baulk | :10:51. | :10:53.
at the high prices being demanded by sellers | :10:54. | :10:55.
and the era of rapid price rises could be about to end. | :10:56. | :11:06.

to describe themselves as racist. news teams where you are. | :11:08. | :11:10.
Results from a survey of British attitudes found wide variations | :11:11. | :11:11.

Tomorrow of tomorrow Racial violence, an angry crowd of youths | :11:32. | :11:38.
chases a negro into a London shop. London in 1958. Is man remembers it | :11:39. | :11:44.
well. We were selling a house in the neighbourhood. You need the money to | :11:45. | :11:50.
deposit and it says no black, no Irish no dogs. It looks like a | :11:51. | :11:56.
different place. In this cafe the coffee is Indonesian, the staff come | :11:57. | :11:59.
from all over the world too. I have been in the UK for almost 14 | :12:00. | :12:07.
year, and yes, I say racism is far, far from what London is, I feel | :12:08. | :12:11.
always very welcome, people are very friendly. A study of British | :12:12. | :12:15.
attitudes found a third of people admitted to being racially | :12:16. | :12:19.
prejudiced. The survey showed that during the 90s levels of racism were | :12:20. | :12:24.
going down. In this century, they have been going up. It also showed | :12:25. | :12:28.
variations across the country. In the West Midlands for example, 35% | :12:29. | :12:33.
of people admitted to be being prejudiced. In inner London that was | :12:34. | :12:39.
just 16%. What is interesting about both areas is they are ethnically | :12:40. | :12:43.
diverse but in London you have a young mobile well educated | :12:44. | :12:47.
population, in the West Midlands you have diversity but you have more | :12:48. | :12:51.
poverty and that seems to be what is driving the differences. The study | :12:52. | :12:55.
found the majority of people concerned about immigration didn't | :12:56. | :13:00.
see themselves as racist. The country needs immigration, you know, | :13:01. | :13:05.
tightened up. Tighten it. It is not so much to do with people being | :13:06. | :13:08.
different cultures it is to do with pressure I have grown up in this | :13:09. | :13:12.
city, I love it for the fact it is like that. I have friends frefry | :13:13. | :13:15.
walk of life and I love that. I wouldn't have it any other way, I am | :13:16. | :13:19.
worried about us busting at the seems a bit. While most of us don't | :13:20. | :13:25.
see ourselves as racist few seem to think things are perfect either. | :13:26. | :13:30.

from the racial equality think`tank news teams where you are. | :13:33. | :13:34.
the Runnymede Trust, and Sunny Singh, an author from North | :13:35. | :13:35.
news teams where you are. London who has written about her | :13:36. | :13:37.
experience of racism in the city. You had a shocking experience in the | :13:38. | :13:47.
street. Given we know, you know, a high percentage of inner Londoners | :13:48. | :13:51.
are from ethnic minorities are you surprised it wasn't greater? Well, | :13:52. | :13:55.
it was the first experience I had on the street. I have never felt | :13:56. | :13:59.
unsafe. Unfortunately, since then, I have had lots of people, including | :14:00. | :14:02.
friends, colleagues and strangers reach out to tell me it is common. | :14:03. | :14:09.
So I think I am beginning to wonder how many people report it and I | :14:10. | :14:13.
think that is something I am increasingly wondering about. I | :14:14. | :14:17.
think we are all invested in the idea of Londons as this wonderful | :14:18. | :14:20.
multicultural place which may not be true. Did you report it? Yes, it | :14:21. | :14:27.
took a bit of effort and I think... It took an effort because you don't | :14:28. | :14:30.
want to admit this is happening, because you didn't want to make a | :14:31. | :14:34.
big deal of it? It was strange, I felt, the first time that I found | :14:35. | :14:38.
the Met police also than sympathetic, they were aggressive | :14:39. | :14:42.
and if we hadn't persisted in pointing out, no it wasn't just | :14:43. | :14:47.
mugging or, you know public affray, they won't would have been happy to | :14:48. | :14:51.
left it at that and forgotten about the 15 minutes of racially charged | :14:52. | :14:56.
abuse that had led to the attack. That was your experience. Omagh | :14:57. | :15:02.
Khan, that is a blatant situation of racism in the street, but often | :15:03. | :15:08.
racism can be insidious, it can be during job interviews or when | :15:09. | :15:13.
landlords are assessing people to rent their flats. What can people do | :15:14. | :15:18.
and be looking out for? Well, in terms of the outcomes you indicated, | :15:19. | :15:24.
it is really important that if you look at the unemployment rates for | :15:25. | :15:30.
young black men it is still 50% so that example is a horrible one but | :15:31. | :15:34.
the pervasiveness of racism means if you are black oration you have to | :15:35. | :15:38.
send in twice as many CVs and a lot of people aren't aware of that. They | :15:39. | :15:42.
think perhaps they didn't get the job because they were | :15:43. | :15:45.
underqualified. The reality shows continued racism in the job market | :15:46. | :15:48.
but in criminal justice where black men are seven times more likely to | :15:49. | :15:52.
be stopped and searched. Are we saying that racism and | :15:53. | :15:56.
discrimination are the same thing? Is that what you understand by | :15:57. | :16:01.
racism? Does it poll qloi be discriminated against if people | :16:02. | :16:05.
admit to feeling a certain amount of racism. The challenges when they | :16:06. | :16:10.
have unequal outcomes in society. The extreme outcomes are the most, | :16:11. | :16:16.
you know, arguably less common Monday but it remains the case you | :16:17. | :16:21.
might have a hiring degree but you earn less, so yes, racism has | :16:22. | :16:26.
changed but it doesn't mean it doesn't affect people's lives. The | :16:27. | :16:31.
evidence suggests that, class and other explanations have limited | :16:32. | :16:34.
effectiveness and racism is still part of the explanation. It is a | :16:35. | :16:39.
huge subject. We have run out of time but thank you very much for | :16:40. | :16:40.

straightforward because much of this may come down to perception and what | :17:37. | :17:41.
the intention was, one person sense of feeling intimidated may be | :17:42. | :17:46.
another's of over campaigning and there was a lot of last minute | :17:47. | :17:49.
campaigning outside a number of polling stations last Thursday. Not | :17:50. | :17:55.
just involving the Tower Hamlet group but Labour, Conservatives as | :17:56. | :17:57.

the police. The police haven't said whether they have received | :18:11. | :18:14.
complaints but Tower Hamlets said they have received ten complaints. | :18:15. | :18:18.
The police have said a small number of reports of aggressive campaigning | :18:19. | :18:22.
were dealt with at the polling stations by the presiding officer, | :18:23. | :18:26.
and police on duty at the venue on the day. No arrests but they say if | :18:27. | :18:32.
anyone has complaints they must come forward. The newly`elected First | :18:33. | :18:38.
Groan have said this is politically motivated. I asked one of their | :18:39. | :18:43.
councillors this. Do you accept some of your supporters have been acting | :18:44. | :18:47.
in an intimidatory fashion? I don't think so. Not that I know of. If nay | :18:48. | :18:50.
have there should be an investigation, if people feel they | :18:51. | :18:54.
have been intimidated, then they should follow the correct procedure, | :18:55. | :18:59.
in reporting it to the police. And Tim, there is continuing | :19:00. | :19:03.
scrutiny of how they managed the count is itself, isn't there? Of | :19:04. | :19:08.
course, because they held up the declaration of the London wide | :19:09. | :19:11.
European result. They are saying here they have an unprecedented task | :19:12. | :19:16.
because they had the mayoral first and second preference, council and | :19:17. | :19:19.
the European, they had a very high turn out. 50% or so and tomorrow the | :19:20. | :19:24.
Electoral Commission will set out its turn terms of reference for the | :19:25. | :19:27.
review it is doing up and down the country, which will focus on the | :19:28. | :19:29.
problems at Tower Hamlets. Football now, | :19:30. | :19:35.
and Charlton have confirmed former Belgium international Bob Peeters | :19:36. | :19:37.
as their new manager. Our sports reporter Chris | :19:38. | :19:41.
Slegg is here now. Chris, | :19:42. | :19:43.
Charlton continuing with their Yes they are indeed. The club have | :19:44. | :19:53.
appointed their second Belgian manager in under three month, | :19:54. | :19:56.
Charlton were in the Championship, that is Second Division, they have | :19:57. | :19:59.
been outside the Premier League for seven year, they have had some ticky | :20:00. | :20:06.
time, in January this man, the Belgian millionaire bought the club. | :20:07. | :20:10.
He owns several other clubs, throughout the Continent. The | :20:11. | :20:13.
manager, when he took over was Chris Powell. Very popular with the | :20:14. | :20:17.
players and the fans but he was sacked in March with a team bottom | :20:18. | :20:21.
of the table. The owner brought in this man from Belgium. He was tasked | :20:22. | :20:26.
with keeping Charlton up. He did that and hoped it would earn him a | :20:27. | :20:31.
contract extension. Last week he was told his services were no longer | :20:32. | :20:37.
required. Bob Peeters was announced as the manager. He has some | :20:38. | :20:43.
experience of British football. He played for Millwall, but this is his | :20:44. | :20:50.
first managerial job in the country. I spoke to Paul Mortimer about how | :20:51. | :20:55.
he will adapt to the Championship. This division, I think it is the | :20:56. | :21:00.
fourth best watched in Europe. You know, he will, he will be in for | :21:01. | :21:05.
ashow, a culture shock. I know he will have played in it before, but | :21:06. | :21:09.
playing and managers is two different thing, he will have to hit | :21:10. | :21:14.
the ground run, it is a crucial season for them, because as Charlton | :21:15. | :21:18.
players, fan, they don't want to go through another season like the | :21:19. | :21:20.
previous one. So Chris, what will be expected of | :21:21. | :21:25.
the new manager next season? The owner has never been clear where his | :21:26. | :21:33.
priority lie, but the biggest club he owns is Liege. It maybe that Bob | :21:34. | :21:38.
Peeters has been told it is another season of transition he has to keep | :21:39. | :21:42.
Charlton in the Championship until the owner invests more money into | :21:43. | :21:46.
Charlton and says the time the right to pub for the Premier League. | :21:47. | :21:47.
We shall see. Thank you. Now, for film stars, greeting fans | :21:48. | :21:51.
and posing for photographers on the red carpet might not look | :21:52. | :21:54.
like that tough a job. But Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt have | :21:55. | :21:57.
been facing quite a challenge today. The stars of Edge of Tomorrow are | :21:58. | :22:00.
attending three premieres ` in London, Paris and New York ` | :22:01. | :22:03.
all in the space of 24 hours. Our Entertainment Correspondent | :22:04. | :22:06.
Brenda Emmanus caught up with them Morning has broken. But still ahead | :22:07. | :22:23.
of the rush hour, crowds gathered below ground in Waterloo. Free | :22:24. | :22:27.
coffee was on hand for those keen enough for the early wake upical to | :22:28. | :22:32.
meet some big names as a unique film premier. Ever done a morning premier | :22:33. | :22:36.
before? The first time. It is is a surprise, a lucky surprise, I work | :22:37. | :22:42.
across the road, so... So worth passing by. I can't believe it is | :22:43. | :22:47.
Tom Cruise. It is 6.20 in the morning and there is an atmosphere | :22:48. | :22:51.
like any full blown party. The word's press are in attendance, fans | :22:52. | :22:56.
are here for the first pledgier of Edge of Tomorrow, one of three to | :22:57. | :23:02.
take place in one day. You do know what is happening to me. | :23:03. | :23:07.
Are we expected to pull out the stops but three yem Premiers is | :23:08. | :23:13.
extraordinary. Was that your idea That is the in the theme of the | :23:14. | :23:20.
movie. London, Paris and New York in one day may afford the team bragging | :23:21. | :23:28.
right bus they could go further. Shot round the dam the Edge of | :23:29. | :23:38.
Tomorrow was the first production to shut down Trafalgar Square. Bus | :23:39. | :23:42.
routes were diverted an St for was given by the Royal Air Force and the | :23:43. | :23:45.
Metropolitan Police. I have to tell you I really appreciate what they | :23:46. | :23:49.
did, allowing us to do that, it was a great way to open the film, it | :23:50. | :23:54.
showed the city a spectacular way. How did do you that? Come find me | :23:55. | :24:01.
when you wake up. Hand`picked by Tom Cruise, how was | :24:02. | :24:05.
the experience? Exciting, and, you know, challenging, and, you know, | :24:06. | :24:09.
all of that but I think it was so cool to play such an action hero. | :24:10. | :24:18.
Lovely fireworks. From attack the block to a blockbuster, Londoner | :24:19. | :24:26.
Franz joined the early riser, He is such a nice guy. That struck me the | :24:27. | :24:32.
most, how genuine and down`to`earth and generous, how generous he is. | :24:33. | :24:36.
So, following three hours of posing and plugging the film, the cast was | :24:37. | :24:42.
set for a day as action`packed as their big screen adventure. | :24:43. | :24:51.
Now the weather. It was looking very wet. None of us can say other than | :24:52. | :24:55.
it has been a grim day. It has. Temperatures today on the chill | :24:56. | :24:59.
terms only 12 C. Not pleasant for a May Day but my weather story has a | :25:00. | :25:03.
slightly happier ending to it. We are not alone, you can take a bit of | :25:04. | :25:08.
comfort in that. If you see the satellite imagery, plenty of cloud | :25:09. | :25:12.
in the whole of the UK. The main exception being out to the west. The | :25:13. | :25:17.
cloud in the London area starting to become more Bobibly. At least for | :25:18. | :25:22.
tonight we stick with the cloud sheet bringing light rain or | :25:23. | :25:25.
drizzle. Particularly to the north and west and temperatures not | :25:26. | :25:28.
dropping much lower than they were through the day, for some round 11 | :25:29. | :25:31.
or 12 as we go into the morning, what is going to happen is the cloud | :25:32. | :25:36.
is going to start to lower. Asup tomorrow morning it is going to be a | :25:37. | :25:40.
grey and misty start, a lot of fog as well across parts of the capital, | :25:41. | :25:46.
particularly towards the Chilterns too. Now, that fog is going to hang | :25:47. | :25:50.
round through the morning but for tomorrow it is going to be a drier, | :25:51. | :25:55.
and brighter day by and large. The low cloud will start to thin and | :25:56. | :26:00.
break. We will see light rain round, so be prepared. Into the afternoon | :26:01. | :26:04.
the showers could get heavy and a bit thundery as well. But, there is | :26:05. | :26:07.
good news because between the showers we will see sunshine coming | :26:08. | :26:11.
there and it is that sunshine that will boost temperatures tomorrow to | :26:12. | :26:15.
19 or 20 Celsius. The showers that form though through tomorrow, | :26:16. | :26:18.
particularly to the north and west of London will hang round into | :26:19. | :26:23.
Thursday, but it starts to turn dry through Thursday night and into | :26:24. | :26:28.
Friday we see high pressure build. Friday will be a cloudy start, grey | :26:29. | :26:33.
and misty, with one or two showers possible. Mainly to the south of | :26:34. | :26:37.
London but a drier day and as high pressure continues to build into the | :26:38. | :26:40.
weekend, here comes the happier story, a lot more sunshine round and | :26:41. | :26:45.
warmer still. Thank you Matt. | :26:46. | :26:51.
The main news headlines now. A senior Liberal Democrat has | :26:52. | :26:56.
resigned. Lord Oakeshott was facing disciplinary action after | :26:57. | :26:58.
commissioning an opinion poll about Mr Clegg. There have been clashes in | :26:59. | :27:03.
Calais as French police evicted hundreds of migrants from camps, | :27:04. | :27:07.
French authorities say and outbreak of scabies and a lack of running | :27:08. | :27:12.
water posed a health risk. Landlords in the capital can now join a new | :27:13. | :27:19.
accreditation scheme. Boris Johnson says it will protect two million | :27:20. | :27:22.
rents but critics say it is toothless. And the congestion charge | :27:23. | :27:28.
is to increase from ?10 to 11. ?50 from the middle of June. TFL says it | :27:29. | :27:33.
will help o reduce traffic jams. I will be back later during the Ten | :27:34. | :27:37.
O'Clock News but from everybody here on the team, whatever you are doing | :27:38. | :27:39.
have a lovely evening. Goodbye. | :27:40. | :27:43. |
