Good evening and welcome to the BBC London weekend news,

Alice Gross was last seen a month ago today walking along a towpath in

Hanwell. Scotland Yard confirmed the RAF were helping aerial analysis to

identify areas worth search The Ealing half marathon is an annual

event but for most competitors this year was special. So 6,000 runners

are beginning their 13.1 mile race over the streets of Ealing. The

faster runners setting off. All of them adding momentum to the campaign

to find Alice Gross. That momentum added to by the fact that so many

are wearing this yellow ribbon, which has become a symbol for the

search for Alice. Competitors in the half marathon said the ribbons had

spread to much of London. I cycled to Hammersmith to get the tube to

south Ealing and you saw them at every bus stop and they became more

prevalent, so the campaign has spread much further than Ealing The

route included a stretch by the refer Brent, intensively searched by

the police, and streets neighbouring Alice's home in Hanwell. Many

runners know the path by the river and Grand Union Canal taken by Alice

on the day she disappeared as beautiful but lonely. Because I ve

gone out early mornings I am a bit wary sometimes, because you don t

see anyone around. The senior officer heading the search for Alice

says he has never witnessed a community respond to strongly in 30

years of policing. It was a response on show today. Not a single runner

has refused to wear a ribbon. Everybody has been so willing to

take it on board and said thank you for the ribbon and yes they'll do

whatever they can to continue showing awareness that she's still

missing and to show support for the family. The police say the search

continues to wide within. One month after Alice disappeared, they say

they will need the public's help to find her.

The question of Londoners being able to afford homes here and how many

tax the rich and superrich should pay is one of the biggest questions

for the political parties ahead of next year's general election. London

is said to be home to more billionaires than any other city.

Offering say some unrivalled attractions. It is the London

markets the chance to make investments probably more easily

than in France or Germany. There's a lot of overseas billionaires that

are buying into iconic London. Together says it is not just a few

wealthy people who create the wealth of our country. It is every working

person. This week Labour confirmed they would levy a mansion tax on

properties over ?2 million. Details of how and with what conditions

still to be confirmed. But it means a relatively small area of the

capital will be helping to subsidise the health service across they. 86%

of the properties that will be hit by this tax are in London and the

South East, the vast majority in central London. The Conservatives

have said they will make foreigners selling property liable for capital

gains tax, but a new study looking at the escalating wealth of the

country's top 1% shows they may still be too close to the rich. If

you look at the last four years most people's standard of living has

fallen. 99% of people have become more equal. The only people whose

income tax have risen is the 1% We'll see this week whether the

Chancellor, George Osborne, intends to do more to capture some of the

wealth of superrich. The spectacular sight of HMS

London verse been given the chance to go on board the frigate and

on the way tomorrow. Fog is developing through the early hours

of the morning. Dense patches within that as well. There is the potential

it could be problematic for road and air travel. In the morning it will

take a while to clear. There is cloud around anyway, with showery

rain pushing north up from the Continent. That will be fairly heavy

as well. Today we've had temperatures above 24 Celsius.

Tomorrow they drop significantly. Highs of 18-20 Celsius at best. A

different day tomorrow. Some of that showery rain hanging around on

Tuesday morning but clearing later in the day.

Good evening. For many, September 2014 will probably hold fond

memories. A warm and dry month. Today we had a high of 25 Celsius,

77 Fahrenheit in Kew Gardens to the west of London, way above the

average for this time of year. Through the night tonight relatively

quiet conditions, with clearer skies in the south. I want to draw your

attention to these showers in southern Spain and across the
