Good evening and welcome to the BBC News at Six. | :01:48. | :01:51.
A retired senior detective has told the BBC he was misled when he tried | :01:52. | :01:54.
to investigate a school in Rochdale at the centre of abuse allegations. | :01:55. | :01:58.
Bob Huntbach led the inquiry into people connected to Knowl View | :01:59. | :02:03.
School after it closed in 1995. He says he asked the local council | :02:04. | :02:06.
for all relevant paperwork but was never given a report detailing | :02:07. | :02:11.
serious sexual abuse at the school. Without this evidence he says | :02:12. | :02:15.
his inquiries came to nothing. Last week the author | :02:16. | :02:18.
of that report told the BBC he believed it was covered up. | :02:19. | :02:24.
Ed Thomas investigates. Knowl View, the school | :02:25. | :02:27.
at the centre of a growing scandal. For the first time we hear | :02:28. | :02:30.
from a mother whose son was repeatedly beaten. | :02:31. | :02:32.
To bruise his back, he must have stamped on him. | :02:33. | :02:34.
The senior detective who investigated the abuse. | :02:35. | :02:37.
I think I was not told what I should have been. | :02:38. | :02:43.
And the failure to protect children. Paedophiles have been operating | :02:44. | :02:45.
there unchecked since at least the early 1970s. | :02:46. | :02:53.
Linda's son was nine years old when he went to Knowl View, | :02:54. | :02:56.
a residential school for boys with behavioural problems. | :02:57. | :03:00.
Steven wasn't sexually abused but from the moment he arrived he | :03:01. | :03:06.
faced brutality. His face was smashed into a radiator | :03:07. | :03:10.
and caused him to have a nosebleed. He said they would take him back and | :03:11. | :03:16.
they would hit him with wet towels. It has ruined my son's life and it | :03:17. | :03:21.
has ruined a lot of other lives. This is what she was not shown, a | :03:22. | :03:25.
detailed report written by a health professional called Phil Shepherd | :03:26. | :03:30.
and sent to Rochdale Council. It stated the serious sexual abuse | :03:31. | :03:33.
of boys at Knowl View, warning of a public scandal. | :03:34. | :03:38.
If you had known about these reports, would your son | :03:39. | :03:42.
have been abused in that school? He wouldn't have been | :03:43. | :03:44.
there to be abused, no. How do you feel? | :03:45. | :03:47.
I still feel guilty. I feel as though I owe him | :03:48. | :03:51.
in some way. To make up for what he suffered | :03:52. | :03:59.
because I let him go there. It wasn't just parents who | :04:00. | :04:02.
didn't hear the full facts. Were you ever shown this report? | :04:03. | :04:06.
No. We have spoken exclusively to | :04:07. | :04:10.
retired detective Bob Huntbach. After Knowl View closed in 1995 he | :04:11. | :04:15.
investigated suspected paedophiles connected to the school, and asked | :04:16. | :04:20.
Rochdale Council for help. We asked for every bit of paperwork | :04:21. | :04:24.
they had in relation to Knowl View. Were you given this report? | :04:25. | :04:29.
No. What would you have done | :04:30. | :04:31.
if you had seen this? It would have been | :04:32. | :04:34.
a totally different enquiry with a different amount of staff | :04:35. | :04:38.
and effort put into it. There is | :04:39. | :04:41.
an obvious child protection issue. There are obvious criminal issues | :04:42. | :04:44.
that needed to be addressed. Do you think you were lied to? | :04:45. | :04:47.
There are two ways people can lie to you. | :04:48. | :04:50.
Either not telling you what you should know, | :04:51. | :04:53.
or an outright lie. I think I was not told what I should have known. | :04:54. | :04:56.
Misled? Misled. | :04:57. | :05:01.
He also wanted to investigate the late Cyril Smith, former Rochdale MP | :05:02. | :05:06.
and Knowl View governor. Without evidence, | :05:07. | :05:10.
his investigation failed. The questions around Knowl View | :05:11. | :05:13.
won't go away. There are two ongoing enquiries | :05:14. | :05:16.
to get to the truth. One, what did this place, Rochdale | :05:17. | :05:21.
Council, know about the abuse? And a separate police investigation | :05:22. | :05:23.
into the abusers and allegations of a cover up. | :05:24. | :05:29.
From reading the reports, the school should have been closed down. | :05:30. | :05:32.
Peter Garsden represents a Knowl View victim. | :05:33. | :05:34.
He believes the unpublished report into | :05:35. | :05:36.
the school provides key evidence about what Rochdale Council knew. | :05:37. | :05:43.
In the last 20 years I have been dealing with children's homes | :05:44. | :05:45.
investigation, I have never seen anything like this, where | :05:46. | :05:47.
a report has been done, itemising child abuse, and very little | :05:48. | :05:53.
reaction has resulted from it. Was it organised abuse? | :05:54. | :05:57.
I think it must have been. A paedophile ring? | :05:58. | :06:01.
I think so, yes. In Rochdale at that time. | :06:02. | :06:06.
Look at the evidence. Police say they are | :06:07. | :06:08.
following the evidence. Rochdale Council says it cannot | :06:09. | :06:12.
comment while an independent review into what happened | :06:13. | :06:19.
inside this school goes on. And Ed Thomas joins me now | :06:20. | :06:20.
from Rochdale. Investigations are going on. What | :06:21. | :06:35.
happens next? We have heard from important voices tonight, the mother | :06:36. | :06:38.
who says if she had been shown this report she would have taken her son | :06:39. | :06:42.
out of the school, the top detective in Rochdale in the year 2000, who | :06:43. | :06:46.
now says he is angry and disappointed that he was never shown | :06:47. | :06:51.
this report. We have also spoken to the senior investigating officer | :06:52. | :06:55.
into the current enquiry into abuse at Knowl View. He says if the police | :06:56. | :07:04.
officer was misled, that is a serious allegation to make. So who | :07:05. | :07:08.
saw this document? We know that in the 1990s there was a wide-ranging | :07:09. | :07:12.
enquiry into abuse at care homes across Greater Manchester, but we | :07:13. | :07:16.
don't know if any of the officers on that team saw this document. But the | :07:17. | :07:20.
truth will have to come out at some point. At the end of July, Rochdale | :07:21. | :07:25.
Council and this independent review into who knew what in this town will | :07:26. | :07:27.
be published. from Rochdale. | :07:28. | :07:34.
The most senior Shia Muslim cleric in Iraq has called on his countrymen | :07:35. | :07:38.
to take up arms against the Sunni Muslim fighters who are | :07:39. | :07:40.
continuing to seize territory and are closing in on Baghdad. | :07:41. | :07:43.
The militant group ISIS, which is linked to Al-Qaeda, | :07:44. | :07:45.
has advanced rapidly after taking Fallujah earlier this year, then | :07:46. | :07:48.
the country's second city Mosul on Monday, quickly followed by Saddam | :07:49. | :07:52.
Hussein's home town of Tikrit. They are now just 80 miles from the | :07:53. | :07:55.
Iraqi capital in Diyala Province. Jonathan Beale is in Baghdad. | :07:56. | :08:08.
This was the US military headquarters in Tikrit, Saddam | :08:09. | :08:13.
Hussein's home town, now taken over by ISIS. This unverified video shows | :08:14. | :08:20.
Islamist 's celebrating as they continued their advance. They are | :08:21. | :08:26.
also strengthening their grip on Mosul, Iraq's second-largest city. | :08:27. | :08:31.
No sign yet of a government led fight back. In fact, it is religious | :08:32. | :08:36.
leaders who are rallying the charge. Today, a representative of the most | :08:37. | :08:41.
senior Shia cleric urged his followers to take up arms. | :08:42. | :08:46.
TRANSLATION: We call on all those who can carry weapons to fight in | :08:47. | :08:51.
defence of the country and its holy sites, to volunteer and join | :08:52. | :08:57.
security forces. And in a southern city, home to some of Shia Muslim's | :08:58. | :09:03.
most sacred shrines, men have been signing up to fight the militants | :09:04. | :09:08.
linked to Al-Qaeda. The cost is not just the human misery of refugees | :09:09. | :09:12.
fleeing their homes. It is hard to see how this cycle of sectarian | :09:13. | :09:18.
violence will end. ISIS propaganda videos worn Shia Muslims that they | :09:19. | :09:23.
will be shown no mercy. We have received reports of the summary | :09:24. | :09:27.
execution of Iraqi soldiers during the capture of Mosul, and of 17 | :09:28. | :09:34.
civilians in one Particular St. In Baghdad, there is still some | :09:35. | :09:38.
security and order, but even here know one is just relying on | :09:39. | :09:43.
government forces to protect them. Militias, too, are making their | :09:44. | :09:46.
mark. Even though there are soldiers here the Iraqi army, these Shia | :09:47. | :09:52.
militia have just arrived. It shows that there is little confidence in | :09:53. | :09:56.
the government, and that they are taking control of their own | :09:57. | :10:01.
security. Iraq's prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki, faces his toughest | :10:02. | :10:05.
challenge yet to keep this increasingly fractured nation | :10:06. | :10:11.
together. I would describe the mood here as | :10:12. | :10:16.
nervous, rather than panic. There are police and military checkpoints | :10:17. | :10:19.
in the city and in a few hours there will be a curfew in place. Nouri | :10:20. | :10:23.
al-Maliki, the pie Mr, has tried to take charge, going to a city 100 | :10:24. | :10:31.
kilometres west of here, surrounded by the Islamist 's. He is sending a | :10:32. | :10:36.
message. He has also taken down most social media sites, but he is a man | :10:37. | :10:40.
who needs help and he does not know where or when it is coming. | :10:41. | :10:45.
Jonathan Beale is in Baghdad. Barack Obama has again made it clear | :10:46. | :10:49.
this evening that he will not send US troops into Iraq to quell | :10:50. | :10:51.
the Sunni insurgency and called on the Iraqi government to solve | :10:52. | :10:54.
the problem for its own people. He did say he's | :10:55. | :10:56.
considering other options to help the Iraqis but stopped short | :10:57. | :10:59.
of saying what they were. So how can | :11:00. | :11:01.
the Sunni militants be stopped? Frank Gardner reports. | :11:02. | :11:04.
Life under ISIS, a show of strength on the streets of Iraq and Syria | :11:05. | :11:07.
by the extremist Sunni militia group now threatening Baghdad. | :11:08. | :11:11.
ISIS, the Islamic State in Iraq and Levant, has become infamous | :11:12. | :11:15.
for its bombings, beheadings and crucifixions. | :11:16. | :11:20.
Its ideology is anathema to the West and now Washington is | :11:21. | :11:25.
considering its response. We will not be sending US troops | :11:26. | :11:30.
back into combat in Iraq but I have asked my national security team to | :11:31. | :11:33.
prepare a range of other options that could help support Iraq's | :11:34. | :11:36.
security forces, and I will review those options in days ahead. | :11:37. | :11:43.
Iraq is no longer home to US combat troops but the Pentagon still has | :11:44. | :11:46.
a string of military bases across the region. | :11:47. | :11:50.
It has the use of airfields in nearby Kuwait, Qatar, | :11:51. | :11:54.
Turkey and Jordan. Out of Bahrain, | :11:55. | :11:57.
the US Navy's Fifth Fleet has fighter jets and cruise missiles. | :11:58. | :12:01.
There are also unmanned reaper drones that can loiter | :12:02. | :12:05.
for hours over a target, carry out reconnaissance, or fire missiles. | :12:06. | :12:09.
But it is fast jets, like these F18 Hornets, that Iraq is requesting. | :12:10. | :12:13.
If deployed, they could have a major impact on the militants' advance, | :12:14. | :12:21.
at least in the short-term. The United States clearly has | :12:22. | :12:23.
the military assets in the region to act if they want to. | :12:24. | :12:27.
Air strikes from Doha, or moving drones in to target militants. | :12:28. | :12:30.
This would be a disaster. The United States don't know | :12:31. | :12:32.
who they would be bombing. They would drive popular alienation | :12:33. | :12:35.
which is at the root of this present crisis anyway. | :12:36. | :12:42.
Bombing the militants would also change the dynamic of this war, | :12:43. | :12:46.
putting America squarely on the side of Iraq's Shia dominated government, | :12:47. | :12:51.
against Sunnis on the ground. And potentially making the West | :12:52. | :12:54.
the target for homecoming foreign fighters from ISIS. | :12:55. | :13:02.
Frank Gardner, BBC News. The value of the pound rose today | :13:03. | :13:05.
on the currency markets after the Governor of the Bank | :13:06. | :13:08.
of England indicated last night that interest rates could go up | :13:09. | :13:10.
before the end of the year. At one point the pound reached | :13:11. | :13:13.
a near five-year high against the dollar. | :13:14. | :13:15.
And in more good news for the economy, a major credit | :13:16. | :13:18.
ratings agency said the UK's economic outlook had improved. | :13:19. | :13:19.
Our economics correspondent Simon Jack has more. | :13:20. | :13:27.
There was surprise in the city at last might's announcement by the | :13:28. | :13:33.
Governor of the Bank of England that interest rates may rise this year, | :13:34. | :13:38.
not next, as markets had expected. Markets had been pricing in the | :13:39. | :13:41.
expectation that rates would start to rise as of the start of next | :13:42. | :13:45.
year. The governor might have thought that was complacent and | :13:46. | :13:48.
wanted to give the markets a heads up, that if economic growth | :13:49. | :13:52.
continues, inflation starts to rise, wages start to rise, then interest | :13:53. | :13:57.
rates could go up earlier. After the announcement, the pound jumped in | :13:58. | :14:01.
value, approaching a five-year peak of nearly $1 to the pound. Higher | :14:02. | :14:07.
rates make deposits in sterling more attractive. The mixed reaction was | :14:08. | :14:19.
also to be found on the streets of Belfast today. We are on a tracker | :14:20. | :14:26.
mortgage, so that would be cause for concern. It is good for me because I | :14:27. | :14:30.
have a teacher's pension, so I could invest the money at high interest. | :14:31. | :14:35.
Perhaps it is not surprising that people were taken off guard by Mark | :14:36. | :14:40.
Carney's message. Hang on a minute, isn't this the man who told us just | :14:41. | :14:43.
a year ago that interest rates would not rise for three years? Yes, but | :14:44. | :14:48.
he said at the time that that would change if unemployment started to | :14:49. | :14:51.
fall quickly, which it has, surprising everyone. Quiet job | :14:52. | :14:55.
centres gives him something else to worry about. Companies may have to | :14:56. | :15:01.
pay workers more and pass the cost on in the form of higher prices. How | :15:02. | :15:12.
high will interest rates go. Although we may start early on the | :15:13. | :15:15.
path to normality, there is no hurry to get there. | :15:16. | :16:02.
It's day two of the World Cup in Brazil. | :16:03. | :16:06.
And the pick of today's three matches kicks off in less than two | :16:07. | :16:09.
hours, when Spain takes on its big European rival, the Netherlands. | :16:10. | :16:12.
And the moment of truth for England is almost here. | :16:13. | :16:15.
They have one final day to fine tune their preparations | :16:16. | :16:16.
before playing their opening game against Italy tomorrow evening. | :16:17. | :16:19.
Ben Brown is in Rio. Ben... | :16:20. | :16:26.
England are training tonight in the ferocious heat of the Amazonian | :16:27. | :16:30.
rainforest ahead of their crucial match against Italy tomorrow. | :16:31. | :16:32.
It's crunch time for Roy Hodgson's side - a game they dare not lose. | :16:33. | :16:36.
And some of their most dedicated fans have made the long journey half | :16:37. | :16:40.
way round the world to be there as our sports correspondent, | :16:41. | :16:41.
Natalie Pirks, reports from Manaus. Manaus is a paradox. Almost 2 | :16:42. | :16:54.
million people call it home, yet it is in the heart of the rainforest, | :16:55. | :17:00.
only accessible by plane or boat. 3000 England fans are expected to | :17:01. | :17:04.
make the journey into the place dubbed the Paris of the tropics. On | :17:05. | :17:12.
the banks of the Rio Montenegro, many have set up camp. It is the | :17:13. | :17:18.
nature bit as well as the football bit. I have never been to a | :17:19. | :17:22.
rainforest before. I have no idea there would be so much noise. We did | :17:23. | :17:31.
not get any piranha fish. We did get fish but no primers. The fans of | :17:32. | :17:40.
doing them proud. There is only one reason England fans have made this | :17:41. | :17:43.
journey and that is happening tomorrow. There is plenty to fit in | :17:44. | :17:48.
the jungle but the manager suggests Italy is not one of them. That is | :17:49. | :17:53.
despite the presence of Mario Balotelli and England 's chief | :17:54. | :17:59.
tormentor when they were knocked out of the Euros, Andrea Pirlo. The pace | :18:00. | :18:07.
and the ability we have, I do not fear it will be anything like what | :18:08. | :18:12.
happened in Kiev two years ago. That is history. The strong bond that | :18:13. | :18:18.
players share is the most important thing about this England team. | :18:19. | :18:24.
Always been trading very hard. In our spare time, we can have downtime | :18:25. | :18:30.
and playing FIFA or table tennis. Just having a good time. In a | :18:31. | :18:35.
country known for samba beats, the England band are moving to their own | :18:36. | :18:40.
rhythm. As temperatures soar, the teams may need some divine | :18:41. | :18:44.
intervention to make additions more favourable for both sides. -- Condon | :18:45. | :19:03.
shows. We have spent the day with some fans in Berkshire. Wide eyed | :19:04. | :19:07.
optimism at Newbury in Berkshire from a generation yet to be scarred | :19:08. | :19:10.
by decades of English footballing failure in foreign lands. Do you | :19:11. | :19:14.
think England could win the World Cup? Yes. Why is that? We have good | :19:15. | :19:24.
penalty takers. Are you sure? We have a young team that is good. The | :19:25. | :19:30.
players had lots of potential. Will you be very disappointed if they do | :19:31. | :19:37.
not win? Yes. It might be something you have to get used to, like the | :19:38. | :19:44.
rest of us. Yes. The grown-ups are also hoping their team will hit the | :19:45. | :19:48.
heights but are not so convinced it will happen. I think we have no | :19:49. | :19:56.
chance. It is about the heat. The flags have been put on display in | :19:57. | :20:01.
the Saint Georges Bunds have been baked. Expectations are a little | :20:02. | :20:06.
downbeat. Do you think England will win? I hope so. It is hard to tell. | :20:07. | :20:15.
We would like to think they would. In fairness, Newbury is more of a | :20:16. | :20:19.
horse racing tan than a footballing hotbed. The pessimism here does seem | :20:20. | :20:24.
to be shared across the country. According to a survey, England fans | :20:25. | :20:28.
are more gloomy about their team 's World Cup prospects and any other | :20:29. | :20:32.
nation taking part, except of course the younger supporters. They may | :20:33. | :20:36.
have to get used to disappointment but for now they can at least | :20:37. | :20:37.
continue to dream. Let's go to | :20:38. | :20:51.
our chief sports correspondent, Dan Roan, who's in Manaus where | :20:52. | :20:52.
England will be playing tomorrow. Our England ready? It is a defining | :20:53. | :21:03.
moment for the Roy Hodgson and his team. It is arguably the most exotic | :21:04. | :21:10.
location that had to play in. They are a useful side, they support | :21:11. | :21:14.
their manager. They have had a relatively and troubled build-up, | :21:15. | :21:19.
compared with tournaments in the past. It is uncharted territory. | :21:20. | :21:24.
Many of the players have not been on this kind of stage facing this kind | :21:25. | :21:29.
of opponent. In and have not been to a major footballing nation on a | :21:30. | :21:33.
World Cup or European Championship stage since 2002 and they do not | :21:34. | :21:37.
tend to start these tournaments very well. Those trends have to end here | :21:38. | :21:41.
tomorrow. There will be no excuses. The heat is ferocious. The picture | :21:42. | :21:46.
is not great but it applies to both teams. Why Hodgson knows if England | :21:47. | :21:49.
lose it will make qualifying difficult. His journey with this | :21:50. | :21:54.
team may come to an abrupt end. There is a huge amount at stake. | :21:55. | :22:10.
FIFA have suspended for three months brands Beckenbauer. He is accused of | :22:11. | :22:15.
failing to cooperate with the guitar corruption enquiry. -- Qatar. | :22:16. | :22:23.
England will be playing tomorrow. Ed Miliband has apologised | :22:24. | :22:26.
for the offence caused to people on Merseyside after being | :22:27. | :22:28.
photographed with a special World Cup edition of The Sun newspaper. | :22:29. | :22:31.
The photo has prompted a Labour city councillor there to resign. | :22:32. | :22:34.
All three main party leaders were all pictured holding the paper. | :22:35. | :22:36.
It's has been widely boycotted in Liverpool | :22:37. | :22:39.
after it reported what turned out to be lies about Liverpool fans in the | :22:40. | :22:42.
wake of the Hillsborough disaster. Judith Moritz reports. | :22:43. | :22:46.
This free promotional copy of the Sun newspaper was sent to 22 million | :22:47. | :22:52.
British homes yesterday. It was not, however, delivered in | :22:53. | :22:56.
Liverpool, where 25 years after Hillsborough, the paper is still | :22:57. | :23:01.
widely boycotted for its coverage of the disaster. Here the hurt still | :23:02. | :23:06.
runs deep. When the three main party leaders each post with the special | :23:07. | :23:11.
edition of the paper it caused controversy on Merseyside with | :23:12. | :23:14.
particular criticism for Ed Miliband from some Labour MPs and the | :23:15. | :23:18.
Liverpool man who said he had insulted everyone in the city. I get | :23:19. | :23:24.
angry with anybody who backs the sun. Anybody who has anything | :23:25. | :23:31.
associated with it. I was disappointed that Ed Miliband did | :23:32. | :23:36.
not realise how hurtful and how sensitive it is. The offence began | :23:37. | :23:42.
in 1989 when the Sun published this article headlined, the truth, which | :23:43. | :23:46.
contained lurid allegations about how Liverpool fans were involved in | :23:47. | :23:51.
the disaster. The paper has thanked Ed Miliband in taking part in its | :23:52. | :23:54.
campaign and the Labour leader said he did save to promote England 's | :23:55. | :24:00.
bid to win the World Cup. He has also said he understands the anger | :24:01. | :24:05.
felt by many on Merseyside over Hillsborough towards the paper. He | :24:06. | :24:10.
says he is sorry for any who feel offended. At an inquest in | :24:11. | :24:14.
Warrington, it did not satisfy those who had been briefed by the | :24:15. | :24:19.
disaster. In it could lose him a lot of votes. It could cost them. This | :24:20. | :24:26.
evening, the Liverpool councillor resigned in protest. In this city, | :24:27. | :24:31.
anger towards the sun is as strong as it ever was. England have taken a | :24:32. | :24:45.
convincing lead. Joe Root made his maiden test double century against | :24:46. | :24:52.
Sri Lanka. They are 131 npower -- they are 130 141 in reply. | :24:53. | :24:56.
Judith Moritz reports. Now, was Hans laid low by | :24:57. | :24:59.
the door of the Millennium Falcon? The actor, Harrison Ford, | :25:00. | :25:01.
is recovering in hospital after breaking his ankle | :25:02. | :25:04.
on the set of the new Star Wars movie being filmed at Pinewood. | :25:05. | :25:07.
Officially police said the actor had been injured by a garage door but | :25:08. | :25:10.
fans of the iconic films have other ideas, as Duncan Kennedy reports. | :25:11. | :25:11.
I've got a really bad feeling about this. | :25:12. | :25:11.
Prophetic words from a prolific actor. | :25:12. | :25:12.
Spoken 37 years ago, during the original Star Wars, Han Solo has | :25:13. | :25:14.
been hamstrung by a broken ankle. I'm sure Luke wasn't | :25:15. | :25:19.
on that thing when it blew. It happened at Pinewood Studios, | :25:20. | :25:23.
during filming of Star Wars Episode VII. | :25:24. | :25:27.
Some reports say Harrison Ford's foot was hit by a garage door, but | :25:28. | :25:29.
others that it was a spaceship door. Possibly a door like this, on this | :25:30. | :25:32.
type of spaceship - the famous Millennium Falcon, which appeared | :25:33. | :25:37.
in the original Star Wars movie. The spaceship, like Harrison Ford, | :25:38. | :25:47.
has legendary status, especially for the biggest of Star Wars fans. | :25:48. | :25:51.
We know the Millennium Falcon is involved. | :25:52. | :25:52.
I believe this is where Harrison has had the accident, doing something | :25:53. | :25:58.
with the Millennium Falcon. But everything is top secret. | :25:59. | :26:01.
It's rare for A-listers like Harrison Ford to have | :26:02. | :26:06.
a serious accident on set. An investigation is now under way. | :26:07. | :26:07.
The 71-year-old actor has spent the past 24 hours in this Oxford | :26:08. | :26:12.
hospital, getting treatment for the injury. | :26:13. | :26:14.
An injury that, despite his treatment here, | :26:15. | :26:16.
is likely to keep Harrison Ford out of filming for some time, | :26:17. | :26:21.
although Disney, Star Wars' makers, says production will continue. | :26:22. | :26:23.
News of the ankle break broke in America overnight. | :26:24. | :26:30.
Although there is concern his injury might delay the premiere of Star | :26:31. | :26:33.
Wars, it's his release from hospital but most are interested in now. | :26:34. | :26:44.
A a change on the way this weekend. There will be a fair bit of cloud. | :26:45. | :27:06.
On the satellite sequence you can see where the cloud is at the | :27:07. | :27:10.
moment. It is drifting its way ever southwards. It is beginning to | :27:11. | :27:14.
produce some sharp showers across northern England. They made ten | :27:15. | :27:19.
country as we go through the overnight period. -- turn thundery. | :27:20. | :27:30.
By dawn, most of the showers will have drifted away. In the East | :27:31. | :27:33.
temperatures will only rise by a few degrees. We have a cool breeze from | :27:34. | :27:39.
the North Sea. It will be much cooler there. There is a lot of | :27:40. | :27:44.
cloud around and a few showers drifting their way from east to | :27:45. | :27:49.
west. Some parts of western Scotland will do quite well, still some | :27:50. | :27:55.
warmth to be found in Glasgow, 21 degrees. 18, 19 degrees in Northern | :27:56. | :28:01.
Ireland. One or two light showers. One or two showers dotted around in | :28:02. | :28:05.
England and Wales. There will be some spells of sunshine but always | :28:06. | :28:09.
quite cool on the North Sea coast. Images will be a bit higher in the | :28:10. | :28:15.
South and West. 21, 20 2 degrees is where we should be. The weather is | :28:16. | :28:20.
likely to play a part in Brazil. In the jungle, it'll be hot and humid | :28:21. | :28:28.
and quite testing. On our shores, a similar day on Sunday. It will be a | :28:29. | :28:32.
dry day with bright spells coming and going and top temperature of | :28:33. | :28:38.
about 21, 20 2 degrees. It will feel pleasant in the south-west where the | :28:39. | :28:41.
winds are that bit lighter. That is it. | :28:42. | :28:42. |
