Newsline... For men appear in court following | :00:24. | :00:29.
Friday night's riot in the centre of Belfast. | :00:29. | :00:33.
As seems like this are beamed around the world, what damage is being done | :00:33. | :00:36.
to our image? There is a call for Gerry Kelly's | :00:36. | :00:44.
Brolin yesterday's parade in Castlederg to be investigated. | :00:44. | :00:49.
A County Tyrone woman in parade arrested on suspicion of drug | :00:49. | :00:54.
smuggling is visited by police. And we're hoping this year's Ulster | :00:54. | :01:00.
from pre-will be a classic. The showers are easing away, but what is | :01:00. | :01:08.
in store for the rest of the week? Four men have been charged in | :01:08. | :01:11.
connection with the riots in Belfast on Friday night. 56 police officers | :01:11. | :01:13.
were injured during loyalist trouble. They were protesting | :01:13. | :01:16.
against a republican Parade which had planned to pass through the city | :01:16. | :01:19.
centre. There was minor stone throwing from republican supporters. | :01:19. | :01:23.
The vast majority of violence came from loyalists. The Police | :01:23. | :01:26.
Federation wants a ban on all controversial parades to allow | :01:26. | :01:36.
:01:36. | :01:39. | ||
politicians to find a solution. BBC Newsline's Tara Mills reports. | :01:39. | :01:44.
Loyalists clashing with the police, and all too familiar image of the | :01:44. | :01:48.
summer's marching season. This time it was a republican march at the | :01:48. | :01:52.
centre of the trouble. The planned route was to take the parade along | :01:52. | :01:58.
Royal Avenue and onto West Belfast. There were six protest points agreed | :01:59. | :02:02.
by the Parades Commission all within a short distance of one another. In | :02:02. | :02:07.
the end, the protests were far larger than the commission had | :02:07. | :02:11.
stipulated and clashes erupted in four different locations. Two on | :02:11. | :02:17.
Royal Avenue, one on Donegall Street and one on the lower shackle. In the | :02:17. | :02:20.
end, the parade organisers re-routed the march away from Royal Avenue, | :02:20. | :02:25.
but that did not stop sustained period of trouble that left more | :02:25. | :02:28.
than 50 officers injured. There was further trouble when the police | :02:28. | :02:36.
tried to push protesters back. The PSNI deny being overstretched, | :02:36. | :02:40.
despite the number of officers injured. There was no organisation, | :02:40. | :02:45.
no coordination, no leadership around any of those protests. We saw | :02:45. | :02:50.
numbers swelling to in the region of 1200 people and many people within | :02:50. | :02:58.
that group arrived with violent intent. Sinn Fein accused the UVF | :02:58. | :03:03.
and Orange Order of orchestrating the protests. Any violence in the | :03:03. | :03:07.
name of the Orange order or anybody else in loyalism drowns out the | :03:07. | :03:12.
message of the Orange Order. This is a cultural problem, it is a problem | :03:12. | :03:16.
about sectarianism and that is coming from the Catholic community | :03:16. | :03:22.
who do not want orange feet about the place. Today the Police | :03:22. | :03:25.
Federation, the organisation representing rank-and-file officers, | :03:25. | :03:30.
called for a six-month ban on contentious parades to allow | :03:30. | :03:35.
politicians breathing space to find a resolution. Given the strict | :03:35. | :03:38.
circumstances that would have to be met for the Secretary of State to | :03:38. | :03:40.
ban even one parade, that appears to be a nonstarter. | :03:40. | :03:44.
Those scenes of violence were sent by the media around the world at the | :03:44. | :03:48.
end of a week that had been hailed as a business and tourism success. | :03:48. | :03:52.
Just a few months after the Union Flag protests, the city had been | :03:52. | :03:56.
working hard to get back on its feet and to promote a positive image to | :03:56. | :03:59.
the tens of thousands of visitors attending the World Police and Fire | :03:59. | :04:02.
Games. Helen Jones has been speaking to some of those affected by the | :04:02. | :04:10.
riot. The commercial centre of Belfast on | :04:10. | :04:15.
what should have been a busy trading night. Instead, businesses forced to | :04:15. | :04:19.
close early and not a moment too soon for a bar along this side | :04:19. | :04:27.
street. Under attack, rioters run rampage. Anything that comes to hand | :04:27. | :04:35.
is used as a weapon, including guttering. Inside, staff barricaded | :04:35. | :04:40.
themselves in using beer cakes. It was a fledgling business trying to | :04:40. | :04:47.
find its feet. We opened in December last year. The Flag protests are bad | :04:47. | :04:53.
for businesses. January is not a great time for the bar trade | :04:53. | :05:00.
anyway. It was slow at the start, but you would not expect your | :05:00. | :05:06.
workplace to be attacked in that kind of way. It is business as | :05:06. | :05:16.
usual. Messages of support have been quick to follow, such as this... | :05:16. | :05:22.
It is not much, but here is a fiver towards getting your window fixed. | :05:22. | :05:27.
This man voted with his feet. It is the first time he has been in the | :05:27. | :05:37.
:05:37. | :05:39. | ||
bar. It is such a pity. People have got riled up and they are destroying | :05:39. | :05:48.
the business. It is a very loud minority. Eventually, Belfast will | :05:48. | :05:54.
rise up and become the great city that it is. Like many high streets | :05:54. | :05:57.
in any city, the recession has hit hard. The World Police and Fire | :05:57. | :06:01.
Games was a welcome boost to the local economy. For those visitors | :06:01. | :06:08.
who heard about the trouble, with their return? Yes. It is a very | :06:08. | :06:13.
friendly town, very polite and friendly people. I would come back | :06:13. | :06:21.
no problem. I would come back, I love it here. With images like this, | :06:21. | :06:24.
Belfast's reputation has again been tarnished. Only time will tell to | :06:24. | :06:29.
what extent. The Commissioner whose job is to | :06:29. | :06:31.
safeguard standards among Assembly members is being asked to | :06:31. | :06:34.
investigate the role of the Sinn Fein MLA Gerry Kelly at a | :06:34. | :06:36.
controversial republican commemoration in Castlederg | :06:36. | :06:40.
yesterday. Two IRA men killed by their own bomb on their way to the | :06:40. | :06:50.
:06:50. | :06:55. | ||
County Tyrone town were among those commemorated. Kevin Sharkey reports. | :06:55. | :07:05.
:07:05. | :07:06. | ||
Emotions were wrought in Castlederg yesterday. What is her name? | :07:06. | :07:16.
:07:16. | :07:16. | ||
Heather, she was 20. Not far away, a republican parade on their way to a | :07:16. | :07:26.
:07:26. | :07:26. | ||
commemoration and the conflicting version of history... Two volunteers | :07:26. | :07:32.
were killed when the bomb their work transporting exploded prematurely. | :07:32. | :07:41.
-- they were transporting. Local and leading Republicans attended. | :07:41. | :07:46.
Unionist MLA or counsellor, no MP or minister, no loyalist paramilitary | :07:46. | :07:56.
:07:56. | :07:56. | ||
or loyal order spokesperson will prevent me or any other republican | :07:56. | :07:59.
honouring our comrades who gave their lives in the struggle for | :07:59. | :08:07.
Irish freedom. In the town centre, relatives of a | :08:07. | :08:15.
array of victims and their commemoration. -- IRA victims. | :08:15. | :08:18.
There was no trouble yesterday but today, the fallout from Gerry | :08:18. | :08:27.
Kelly's speech. They were people who lead from the front... I have raised | :08:27. | :08:31.
with the Commissioner for standards in the Assembly Mr Kelly's speech, | :08:31. | :08:37.
in which he said some obscene things. As well as the | :08:37. | :08:42.
investigation, there has also been another development today. The DUP | :08:42. | :08:46.
MLA Arlene Foster is seeking an urgent meeting with the Director of | :08:46. | :08:50.
Public Prosecutions to find out what standard of evidence is needed to | :08:50. | :08:53.
secure prosecutions for alleged glorification of terrorism | :08:53. | :08:59.
adjusted's parade. -- at yesterday's parade. | :08:59. | :09:02.
Well earlier I spoke to the Parades Commission chairman Peter Osborne | :09:02. | :09:05.
about Friday's violence in Belfast. I asked him where he thought the | :09:05. | :09:10.
Commission had got wrong in its determination. | :09:10. | :09:15.
I do not think it did go wrong. It is quite clear that there were a lot | :09:15. | :09:19.
of people who came into Belfast city centre intent on violence. The thing | :09:19. | :09:25.
that needs to be said loud and clear by any leader is that the Police | :09:25. | :09:29.
Service of Northern Ireland have done an incredible job showing | :09:29. | :09:33.
tremendous bravery under intense provocation, to hold the line and | :09:33. | :09:37.
keep the peace. I think the men and the women of the police service | :09:37. | :09:42.
deserve a huge amount of credit. There are no excuses are caveats. | :09:42. | :09:49.
People came intent on violence. The violence visited on the police was | :09:49. | :09:54.
unforgivable. But the Commission allowed six loyalist protests and | :09:54. | :09:58.
only limited numbers in some of them. Do you not take any | :09:58. | :10:04.
responsibility for what happened - the tension and what followed? | :10:04. | :10:08.
was a significant parade and a protest. Become a commission is | :10:08. | :10:14.
sponsored offer operating criteria for parade and protest. There were | :10:14. | :10:18.
clearly large numbers of people who came in intent on violence. I think | :10:18. | :10:22.
the police did an incredibly good amount of work under intense | :10:22. | :10:27.
provocation. Do you not think you put the police in an invidious | :10:27. | :10:32.
position? There are 4000 parades in Northern Ireland every year, just | :10:33. | :10:40.
some of them are sensitive. By and large they happen without violence. | :10:40. | :10:44.
On occasion there is violence. In this case, this was unique. The | :10:44. | :10:52.
focus really has to be not on the police, not on the Commission, on | :10:52. | :10:57.
none other than the people who came into the city centre intent on | :10:57. | :11:03.
violence. This unique parade, if it was to happen next month, would your | :11:03. | :11:08.
determination be different? Let's look at the weekend. The Apprentice | :11:08. | :11:14.
Boys' parade went off well at the weekend. There was also a parade on | :11:14. | :11:17.
Sunday in Castlederg that went peacefully. There are things we will | :11:17. | :11:27.
:11:27. | :11:31. | ||
look at as far as that is concerned. This was a parade which was subject | :11:31. | :11:33.
to people who came into the city centre intent on violence. Would | :11:33. | :11:37.
your determination be different for it to be held again? It is wrong for | :11:37. | :11:44.
people to start making excuses. leads people to think they can do | :11:44. | :11:48.
something similar the next time. There is no justification for | :11:48. | :11:53.
violence, no violence is inevitable. It is not the fault of the police, | :11:53. | :11:58.
the Parades Commission, anybody else for the violence. It was wrong and | :11:58. | :12:05.
the police were incredibly brave to stand up to what I saw them taking. | :12:05. | :12:08.
Still to come before seven... The Festival of Flight attracted | :12:08. | :12:12.
tens of thousands to Newcastle at the weekend. A special few got a | :12:12. | :12:22.
:12:22. | :12:27. | ||
close up view of one of the stars. We opened the application process | :12:27. | :12:34.
and five o'clock. By 5:40pm, we had over 400 people. If it had been open | :12:34. | :12:36.
for another few hours it would have been thousands. | :12:36. | :12:40.
A Dungannon woman arrested in Peru on suspicion of drug trafficking has | :12:40. | :12:43.
been visited by diplomats from the British Embassy who are liaising | :12:43. | :12:45.
with the Department of Foreign Affairs in Dublin. Michaella | :12:45. | :12:48.
McCollum Connolly, who is 20, was arrested in Lima along with a | :12:48. | :12:53.
19-year-old from Scotland, Melissa Reid. They were about to board a | :12:53. | :13:03.
:13:03. | :13:07. | ||
flight to Madrid. Embassy local officials -- Embassy | :13:07. | :13:11.
officials visited the two women. Officers said Michaela McCollum, the | :13:11. | :13:16.
and Melissa Reid from Scotland had been carrying cocaine in packages of | :13:16. | :13:20.
food in their luggage when stopped at the capital's International | :13:20. | :13:30.
airport. -- Michaela McCollum Connelly. It has been confirmed that | :13:30. | :13:35.
two women were arrested by drug enforcement officers at Lima | :13:35. | :13:40.
International airport. They have been held since Tuesday. The | :13:40. | :13:44.
aeroplanes they were due to catch were bound for Madrid and they were | :13:44. | :13:54.
:13:54. | :14:01. | ||
going to fly on to, -- Miata. Michaela McCollum, the's family -- | :14:01. | :14:07.
Michaela McCollum, Lee's family attended to find after they had not | :14:07. | :14:14.
heard from her. Last year, there were 1600 kilos of drugs seized. If | :14:14. | :14:19.
convicted, they face a potentially lengthy prison sentence from eight | :14:19. | :14:22.
to 15 years. A dispute pitting the Culture | :14:22. | :14:25.
Minister Caral Ni Chuilin against the Secretary of State and the Chief | :14:25. | :14:29.
Constable is due to be decided in the courts on Thursday. It involves | :14:29. | :14:32.
the minister's decision to hand over historical legal documents held in | :14:32. | :14:34.
the Public Records Office relating to three killings during the | :14:34. | :14:38.
Troubles. In 2011 and 2012, a victims' group made the request for | :14:38. | :14:44.
inquest and trial documents. In January this year, the Public | :14:44. | :14:49.
Records Office refused to release the documents. The Culture Minister | :14:49. | :14:53.
overruled that and on Friday, she hand delivered the papers. Hours | :14:53. | :14:57.
later, the NIO and the police got a High Court injunction preventing the | :14:57. | :15:02.
information in those papers being shared. Here's Our Political Editor | :15:02. | :15:06.
Mark Devenport. Caral Ni Chuilin may have been in | :15:06. | :15:09.
line with the police at this weekend's closing ceremony for the | :15:09. | :15:12.
World Police and Fire Games, but there were serious tensions behind | :15:12. | :15:15.
the scenes. The minister's Culture Department oversees the Public | :15:15. | :15:19.
Records Office in Belfast's Titanic Quarter. On Friday afternoon, she | :15:19. | :15:21.
personally handed over to campaigners inquest and trial papers | :15:21. | :15:27.
held in the office related to three Troubles deaths. They included the | :15:27. | :15:33.
UVF murder of West Belfast woman Sadie Larmour in 1979. Mrs Larmour's | :15:33. | :15:42.
daughter Josephine explained why she wants to examine the documents. | :15:42. | :15:45.
gives us an insight into the thinking of these people. Why would | :15:45. | :15:51.
anyone come to our door, should my mother, an innocent mother, and try | :15:51. | :15:55.
to shoot my grandmother and my aunt? These are unanswered questions and | :15:55. | :16:00.
we need answers and we need to know the reason why they did this. We do | :16:00. | :16:04.
need access to these papers, as do all families. But the Chief | :16:04. | :16:07.
Constable fears that unless some details are removed from the papers, | :16:07. | :16:11.
individuals' lives could be put at risk, or the right to fair trials in | :16:11. | :16:13.
the future jeopardised. So acting together with the Secretary of | :16:13. | :16:16.
State, he obtained a court ruling preventing lawyers from publishing | :16:16. | :16:20.
or passing on the papers. However campaigners insist such sensitive | :16:20. | :16:23.
details, like police officers' names, have already been blanked | :16:23. | :16:33.
:16:33. | :16:33. | ||
out. There are no sensitive details. That is why the files are | :16:33. | :16:35.
already in the Public Records Office. They have already been | :16:35. | :16:42.
released. There is a politics of vested interest in trying to prevent | :16:42. | :16:44.
families from examining these issues. The Justice Minister David | :16:44. | :16:47.
Ford says he's disappointed the Culture Minister didn't take the | :16:47. | :16:50.
police's advice, but Sinn Fein says her decision was a step forward | :16:50. | :16:56.
towards a process of recovering the truth. The argument will no doubt | :16:56. | :17:06.
:17:06. | :17:08. | ||
continue before a High Court judge on Thursday. | :17:08. | :17:13.
There has been a development in a Belfast city council case due last | :17:13. | :17:18.
week. They were the victim of a fraud in June of 300,000. Criminals | :17:18. | :17:22.
using a false e-mail address obtained outstanding invoices from | :17:22. | :17:27.
illegitimate contractor. Those invoices were forwarded to the | :17:27. | :17:31.
Council for payment, along with the fraudsters' bank details. Council | :17:31. | :17:36.
sources say it is not alone in being targeted and that an organisation in | :17:36. | :17:40.
England was defrauded by 1 million. I firmly believe that the new | :17:40. | :17:45.
measures in place should read this happening in the future. It is | :17:45. | :17:48.
important to point out that we are not the only organisation who have | :17:49. | :17:53.
been hit by this scam. There has been a number of organisations in | :17:53. | :17:56.
Great Britain who have suffered, and that is why the police across the | :17:56. | :18:01.
water are dealing with this. The local police have completed their | :18:01. | :18:04.
enquiries and they have handed over to their counterparts in England. | :18:04. | :18:07.
There's plenty more to come on this evening's programme. | :18:07. | :18:11.
Join me in Lisburn as we gear up for a big week of international football | :18:11. | :18:21.
:18:21. | :18:26. | ||
and motorcycling. Tens of thousands of people flock to | :18:26. | :18:29.
Newcastle on Saturday for the Festival of Flight and yesterday, | :18:29. | :18:32.
hundreds more got a close-up at one of the stars, the world's last | :18:33. | :18:38.
flying Vulcan bomber. Another busy Sunday at Belfast | :18:38. | :18:40.
International with domestic flights, holiday flights and a Cold War | :18:41. | :18:45.
bomber. The Vulcan overnighted at Aldergrove after starring in the | :18:45. | :18:52.
Festival of Flight at Newcastle on Saturday. Along with the Red Arrows | :18:52. | :18:56.
and a range of other aircraft, it wowed the tens of thousands of | :18:56. | :19:03.
people packed along the seafront. Yesterday hundreds more got a closer | :19:03. | :19:08.
look at the jet parked up at Belfast International Airport. Among them, a | :19:08. | :19:12.
Lurgan man who last saw the Vulcan here at Aldergrove when he was a | :19:12. | :19:22.
boy. I was four years old. Even then, I have got my four-year-old | :19:22. | :19:27.
with me today and he is mad about it. He has got posters up in his | :19:27. | :19:31.
bedroom. It shows how much fascination it holds for people, | :19:31. | :19:38.
even now, for an aircraft from 1956. We could only handle 400 people in | :19:38. | :19:42.
the time available. We opened the application process on the website | :19:42. | :19:46.
at five o'clock. By 5:40pm, there were 400. If we had left it open | :19:46. | :19:52.
there would have been thousands. Belfast born pilot says it has been | :19:52. | :19:58.
very emotional bringing it home. Very emotional. Tears in my eyes and | :19:58. | :20:05.
lumps in my throat. Yes, we will be back. And that will be music to ears | :20:05. | :20:09.
of aircraft enthusiasts, which are still ringing from the roar of the | :20:09. | :20:19.
:20:19. | :20:30. | ||
take-off. Let's get the sports news. | :20:30. | :20:40.
:20:40. | :20:42. | ||
I am here at an exhibition about motor racing through the years. In a | :20:42. | :20:45.
moment we will hear from one of the local contenders at the Ulster Grand | :20:45. | :20:47.
Prix. First to football, and Michael | :20:47. | :20:49.
O'Neill's Northern Ireland squad trained in Belfast this morning | :20:49. | :20:51.
ahead of Wednesday night's rearranged World Cup qualifier | :20:51. | :20:55.
against Russia. The game was due to be played on March 22nd, but was | :20:55. | :20:58.
called off because of Siberian like conditions in Belfast. Falkirk | :20:58. | :21:01.
goalkeeper Michael McGovern has replaced the injured Alan Mannus in | :21:01. | :21:06.
the squad. With Roy Carroll set to start in goal at Windsor Park. | :21:07. | :21:09.
Northern Ireland's hopes of qualification have ended after three | :21:09. | :21:12.
draws and two defeats, and O'Neill is still looking for his first win | :21:12. | :21:21.
as manager. I have to try and be positive in terms of the attacking | :21:21. | :21:27.
sense of the game. We need to be cautious because of the Russians. We | :21:27. | :21:32.
hopefully will be able to stay in the game and create chances. | :21:32. | :21:35.
In local football the Irish premiership season kicked off at the | :21:35. | :21:38.
weekend with a big win for defending champions Cliftonville. Thomas Kane | :21:38. | :21:44.
begins his round up of the best of the action at Solitude. | :21:44. | :21:48.
It looks like Cliftonville and last year's Player of the Year Liam Boyce | :21:48. | :21:51.
have picked up where they left off at the left off last season. The | :21:52. | :21:54.
North Belfast club were 4-2 winners over Irish League newcomers Ards, | :21:55. | :22:04.
:22:05. | :22:06. | ||
Ben Roy scoring their first goal back in the top flight. They may | :22:06. | :22:10.
have made wholesale changes to their squad during the summer, it was a | :22:10. | :22:13.
familiar face who grabbed Linfield's goal against Portadown, only for the | :22:13. | :22:16.
home side to cancel out Peter Thompson's strike with a late | :22:16. | :22:19.
penalty. There were nine goals at the Showgrounds as Glenavon ran out | :22:19. | :22:24.
6-3 winners Guy Bates and Mark Farren with two goals apiece. While | :22:25. | :22:28.
Warrenpoint Town did take the lead in their first ever match in the top | :22:28. | :22:32.
tier of the local game, but these celebrations were short lived as | :22:32. | :22:40.
they were defeated 3-2 by Dungannon Swifts. | :22:40. | :22:43.
Golf, and despite a difficult season to date, there have been positive | :22:43. | :22:47.
signs for Rory McIlroy this weekend. The 24-year-old finished in a tie | :22:47. | :22:50.
for eighth at the US PGA Championship at Oak Hill and is now | :22:50. | :23:00.
looking to finish his season with a flourish. | :23:00. | :23:04.
In a season of mishaps, Rory McIlroy showed the kind of form that has | :23:04. | :23:14.
made him the sport's hottest property. His hopes of defending his | :23:14. | :23:18.
title disappeared on the fifth after a trip to the water and the deep | :23:18. | :23:28.
:23:28. | :23:29. | ||
rough saw him drop three shots. A closing level par round of 70 | :23:29. | :23:33.
secured a place in the top ten at the end of a tenement that could set | :23:33. | :23:39.
his season back on target. -- a tournament. He is back in action in | :23:39. | :23:45.
two weeks time at the start of the US To play-offs. Watch this space. | :23:45. | :23:47.
Motorbikes, and Alastair Seeley extended his British Supersport | :23:47. | :23:50.
Championship lead at Oulton Park at the weekend. He won yesterday's | :23:50. | :23:54.
feature race, as well as adding second in Saturday's sprint event. | :23:54. | :23:58.
The Carrickfergus rider now has a 47 point lead in the standings, with | :23:58. | :24:06.
six rounds remaining. Alastair Seeley competed at the | :24:06. | :24:10.
north-west but is not at the Ulster Grand Prix. A man who is is Jamie | :24:10. | :24:15.
Hamilton. You can see all of the history in this room. It is a | :24:15. | :24:19.
special event, isn't it? It is great to have a show like this in the | :24:19. | :24:23.
run-up to the Grand Prix, and it is great to be part of it and I am | :24:23. | :24:27.
really loving it. It is all about the speed. Is that what makes it | :24:27. | :24:33.
special? Yes, the Ulster Grand Prix is the fastest road race in the | :24:33. | :24:38.
world. To be a rider is something very special and it is something | :24:38. | :24:42.
that not everyone in the world gets to do. I am very privileged to be | :24:42. | :24:47.
one of those people. It is a big week with a lot of events, how are | :24:47. | :24:53.
you feeling? You have had a good season. I have had a good season and | :24:53. | :24:57.
I am coming of riding really well. I hope I can carry on my form this | :24:57. | :25:03.
Saturday and be in top form so close to home. I will have a lot of people | :25:03. | :25:10.
cheering me on and it will be a great event. How is Ryan Farquhar to | :25:10. | :25:16.
ride for, is he a tough task master? He is a good boss. He always helps | :25:16. | :25:23.
me, he is always by my side. I am lucky to have someone like that with | :25:23. | :25:28.
me. I have still got a lot to learn. I just listen to what he tells me | :25:28. | :25:31.
and hopefully I will have the same sort of results as him. Best of | :25:31. | :25:40.
luck. It is the Dundrod 150 on Thursday and Saturday. It is worth | :25:40. | :25:50.
:25:50. | :25:51. | ||
taking a trip down here to see the the July weather has not come back, | :25:51. | :25:56.
but we will not give up just yet! As far as this week goes, it is a mixed | :25:56. | :26:03.
bag. There will be some sunshine and some rain, and we have had quite a | :26:03. | :26:07.
few rainbows with those ingredients. Thursday looks like it could be a | :26:07. | :26:11.
pretty wet day. We are not sure how much rain will fall, but it could be | :26:11. | :26:16.
up to one inch in parts of Northern Ireland. Stay tuned to the forecast | :26:16. | :26:21.
for the rest of the week. The Red Arrows were doing their thing at | :26:21. | :26:25.
Newcastle on Saturday. The weather was pretty good. Today we have had | :26:25. | :26:30.
some showers, but there will be clear skies tonight. If you are | :26:30. | :26:35.
hoping to catch a glimpse of the meteor shower, the East will have | :26:35. | :26:38.
the best chance. Conditions are not perfect because although there will | :26:38. | :26:43.
be clear skies, the second half of the night will turn cloudy with damp | :26:43. | :26:47.
weather moving in. Tomorrow you will need the umbrella once again with | :26:47. | :26:52.
the weather in the morning. A lot of it will Peter out in the afternoon, | :26:52. | :26:58.
becoming drier and brighter. The rain will not be heavy. It will be a | :26:58. | :27:04.
nuisance more than anything else. The breeze will be a lot lighter. It | :27:04. | :27:08.
was quite chilly feeling today. With warmer hair overhead and lighter | :27:08. | :27:11.
winds, temperatures should still be pretty decent and about average for | :27:11. | :27:17.
the time of year. There should be some bits and pieces of rain on and | :27:17. | :27:20.
off for at least the early part of the afternoon. As the afternoon goes | :27:20. | :27:26.
on much of that will disappear. A nice evening. On Wednesday, a | :27:26. | :27:30. |
