tomorrow. That's it. | :00:00. | :00:00.
Good evening and welcome to BBC Newsline. | :00:00. | :00:14.
The police are treating the death of a woman in Belfast as suspicious. | :00:15. | :00:17.
Her body was discovered in a house in the Lenadoon area this morning. | :00:18. | :00:24.
Forensic officers have spent the day at the house in west Belfast where | :00:25. | :00:32.
the woman's body was found. Officers were called to the property around | :00:33. | :00:37.
6:25am this morning. The woman has yet to be named, but it is | :00:38. | :00:41.
understood she was 30 years old. The PSNI has revealed that a 36-year-old | :00:42. | :00:45.
man has been arrested and is being questioned. Neighbours said they | :00:46. | :00:52.
were shocked at the news and that this is generally a quiet area. The | :00:53. | :00:56.
postmortem will be carried out to establish the cause of the death, | :00:57. | :00:58.
but at this time, it is being treated as suspicious. | :00:59. | :01:06.
An entertainment law company based in the United States is planning to | :01:07. | :01:10.
create 75 jobs over the next five years at new offices in Londonderry. | :01:11. | :01:13.
SmithDeane, whose clients include the HBO TV network which makes the | :01:14. | :01:17.
Game of Thrones series, say that a minimum of eight posts will be | :01:18. | :01:23.
filled immediately. The Sinn Fein MEP Martina Anderson, | :01:24. | :01:26.
has described the killers of former Continuity IRA leader Tommy Crossan | :01:27. | :01:28.
as criminals masquerading as republicans. She was speaking at one | :01:29. | :01:34.
of a number of events held to commemorate the anniversary of the | :01:35. | :01:37.
Easter Rising, as Louise Cullen reports. The main republican parade | :01:38. | :01:45.
in Belfast made its way from the west of the city to a cemetery. The | :01:46. | :01:50.
good weather brought hundreds onto the streets to watch. The Easter | :01:51. | :01:55.
commemoration is one of the biggest event in the Republican calendar. | :01:56. | :02:01.
The Queen that her family and her government would stand alongside | :02:02. | :02:05.
Ireland went it marks the centenary of the Easter Rising in at two | :02:06. | :02:12.
years' time. Republicans honour the dead of previous conflicts, but with | :02:13. | :02:15.
the murder of a former dissident leader on Friday, it was ongoing | :02:16. | :02:19.
violence which featured in the keynote speaker's address. There is | :02:20. | :02:29.
an attempt to derail any progress in the peace and political processes. | :02:30. | :02:35.
One of these small groups took the life of Tommy Crossan in this city. | :02:36. | :02:40.
The only thing they have succeeded in doing is leaving a family | :02:41. | :02:45.
bereavement. The republican community does not want them. | :02:46. | :02:52.
Similar crowds joined the commemorations elsewhere. They heard | :02:53. | :02:56.
calls for support and for social and economic equality to be addressed. | :02:57. | :03:00.
The military ceremony in Dublin was led by the Irish president along | :03:01. | :03:06.
with in the Kenny and the Justice Minister. Thousands attended while | :03:07. | :03:20.
around 170 members of the Navy marched. | :03:21. | :03:24.
Meanwhile a man is still being questioned about the murder of Tommy | :03:25. | :03:27.
Crossan on Friday. The 26-year-old was arrested yesterday morning. | :03:28. | :03:30.
The Fire and Rescue Service have been dealing with a serious gorse | :03:31. | :03:33.
fire close to Newcastle. At its height, approximately ten acres of | :03:34. | :03:36.
land at Ballagh Bridge on Ballagh Road, were alight and the flames | :03:37. | :03:40.
were fanned by high winds. A short time ago, the blaze was said to be | :03:41. | :03:43.
under control. Well, winter storms earlier this | :03:44. | :03:46.
year have changed the shape of a number of our beaches. And as | :03:47. | :03:52.
lifeguards from the RNLI go on duty for the summer season, they're | :03:53. | :03:56.
warning people to be careful at the seaside. When the weather is good, | :03:57. | :04:00.
there is no better place to be than the beach. Keeping a watchful eye, | :04:01. | :04:07.
the RNLI lifeguards. They are back on our beaches for the first time | :04:08. | :04:10.
this year. It might be sunny today, but last winter's stormy weather has | :04:11. | :04:15.
had a big impact on our coastline. It has changed quite a bit due to | :04:16. | :04:20.
some of the dramatic weather we saw over the winter. Primarily, a lot of | :04:21. | :04:25.
high tides and powerful ways, which have changed the shape of the | :04:26. | :04:29.
beach, often creating deep channels for the water to flow which can | :04:30. | :04:33.
cause recurrence. The lifeguards are manning five beaches over the Easter | :04:34. | :04:38.
break. The sun might have disappeared for now, but last year | :04:39. | :04:42.
was one of Northern Ireland's hottest summers in recent times, | :04:43. | :04:45.
which meant thousands of people flocked here to the beach. It was | :04:46. | :04:50.
also a busy summer for the RNLI, and lifeguards had to come to the aid of | :04:51. | :04:56.
about 330 people, up 153 the year before. It is more a day for walking | :04:57. | :05:01.
the dog then taking a dip, but beach-goers said they were still | :05:02. | :05:04.
pleased the lifeguards were still here. There are a lot of kids here | :05:05. | :05:07.
during the summer. Safety is paramount. It is vitally important. | :05:08. | :05:17.
They need to be on the beach. The advice to say that truckers stay | :05:18. | :05:22.
safe is to swim between the flags and check that there are lifeguards | :05:23. | :05:27.
on duty. Onto the weather now, and what does | :05:28. | :05:28.
Easter Monday have in store Onto the weather now, and what does | :05:29. | :05:35.
for us? Good evening. It has been a gloriously sunny evening for much of | :05:36. | :05:38.
Northern Ireland. Things are changing now and we will have a lot | :05:39. | :05:41.
more cloud than the forecast as we go through the week ahead. It will | :05:42. | :05:47.
be breezy at times, but it will not be wet all the time. Another | :05:48. | :05:51.
glorious day today for Scotland and Northern Ireland. Cloudier and much | :05:52. | :05:55.
wider across parts of England and Wales, particularly the South, or | :05:56. | :05:59.
they had some torrential downpours. The cloud is feeding him towards us | :06:00. | :06:04.
and the cloud will edge in this evening on a fresh easterly breeze | :06:05. | :06:07.
and there will be a few showers around as well. I think we could see | :06:08. | :06:13.
some showers in the far south by the end of the night. It is dry and | :06:14. | :06:21.
fairly mild come at no lower than 6-8 degrees in towns and cities. | :06:22. | :06:31.
Into tomorrow, we are looking at a cloudier read your day and there | :06:32. | :06:34.
will be showers around, particularly during the morning. The North still | :06:35. | :06:42.
mainly dry. A few showers across the Republic as well, but bright spells | :06:43. | :06:45.
as well, and for much of England, Scotland and Wales, the day started | :06:46. | :06:50.
out dry. There will be some bright spots coming through but there will | :06:51. | :06:55.
be some downpours in southern areas and drifting into Wales during the | :06:56. | :06:58.
latter part of the afternoon. Some of these will be quite thundery as | :06:59. | :07:04.
temperatures rise to 19 degrees. For Northern Ireland, well, we might get | :07:05. | :07:08.
one or two showers drifting into the South later on, but the afternoon | :07:09. | :07:12.
looking largely dry, and it should brighten up as we head into the | :07:13. | :07:16.
evening. Highs of either 15 or 16 degrees. For the rest of the week, | :07:17. | :07:21.
rather cloudy and breezy and particularly damp on Wednesday. | :07:22. | :07:26.
That is it until 10:15pm. Keep up to date on Facebook and Twitter. Enjoy | :07:27. | :07:28.
the rest of your evening. Goodbye. MUSIC: "Gods And Monsters" | :07:29. | :07:39.
