Good evening. The parents of five-year-old Oscar

Knox have paid tribute to their son at his funeral today in Glengormley.

Wee Oscar, as he was known, whose high profile fight against cancer

captured many hearts, died on Thursday. More than 1,000 people

attended the funeral service at St Bernards Church. Rick Faragher

reports. He was the boy who captured the

hearts of everybody. This was a celebration of his life, with

colourful jerseys and sports tops the order of the day. There were

sports stars, politicians and family members. There were tears in the

crowd when his mother recalled a recent conversation with her son.

His favourite movie was Peter Pan. We talked a few weeks ago about a

journey going to Neverland. We explained that in Neverland there

are no sore knees or sore heads. He had a big smile on his face and he

said, this is the best day of my life. As the crowd left, there were

scenes of togetherness and solidarity. People, many of whom had

never met, united by the strength of a young boy whose strength they will

never forget. A 23-year-old man has been treated

in hospital after suffering serious head injuries in an assault in east

Belfast. It happened on the Newtownards Road shortly after one

o'clock this morning. A 22-year-old man has been arrested.

The third stage of the Giro D'Italia between Armagh and Dublin has been

won by the German Marcel Kittell, who won yesterday's stage two. The

Giro will now resume in Italy on Tuesday. A huge crowd turned out in

Armagh this morning to see the riders off. BBC Newsline's Mark

Simpson reports. There was no sign of Giro fatigue

from the riders all the spectators. They rode more than 100 miles

yesterday and more than 100 miles again today. As they swept through

the South Armagh countryside, the weather was on the whole kind. In

fact, when they went through this village, not only was the sun out

but there were 2000 people lining the streets in the normally quiet

village. It's all about the pink! We love to promote our country and we

want to show the world how wonderful it is. It is just the spirit of the

people of Northern Ireland getting behind anything and wanting to be

part of it and show how wonderful the place is. Church services are

normally held here at 11 o'clock on a Sunday, but not today. Did

parishioners mind being disrupted by the Giro? Lets take the opportunity

we have here and make the best of it. Let's just be here and serve

people, that is what the church is about. And they all managed to get a

look at the Giro, albeit a quick one. There they go on their way

towards the border, on to Dublin. After three days here in Northern

Ireland, the people are really going to miss them. I don't know what I am

going to do tomorrow morning. I have to go to work. What are you going to

wear? I wear pink everyday anyways! Show me your hair. As for the race

for the pink jersey, the action all came at the end with a sprint finish

in Dublin. Here comes Marcel Kittel! He takes it on the line! A bolt of

lightning. What a guy. He nailed that in the most difficult

circumstances and just look what it is taken out of him. Marcel Kittel

we salute you. He won yesterday and he won again today on what is his

26th birthday. The Giro now heads home back to Italy, but the memories

here will linger for a very long time.

The Derry City manager Roddy Collins has left the club following the

to see high pressure building from the South although we do have a

Tuesday, still showers across England and Wales. Further west,

things become drier and brighter and as we head into Wednesday, it will

be drier and brighter. That weather front could bring cloud and threaten

some rain as well in parts of Northern Ireland and Scotland.

Thursday is dry with a fair amount of cloud but hopefully some bright

spells and those temperatures are rising.
