The BBC has learned that a man charged with a number

of sexual assaults at a County Armagh medical practice is a GP.

The charges stretch over a number of years.

Here's our reporter in the South East Gordon Adair.

The man at the centre of these is a doctor who worked here at this

health centre for several years, until 2011 when the practice severed

its ties with him. More recently, he has been working in Portadown.

Police say he has been charged with sexual assault, following a number

of complaints. The alleged incidents all happened here, in the health

centre, between 2009 at 2011, as is normal practice. A file has now been

prepared and sent to the Public prosecution service. The doctor will

appear as a court our marquee next month. Police say this is an ongoing

enquiry. They want anyone who has relevant information to come forward

and contact detectives using the nonemergency 101 number.

A 21-year-old Dungannon woman jailed for drug smuggling in Peru is to

serve the rest of her sentence at Hydebank Wood prison in Belfast.

Mikayla McCollum and her Scottish friend were jailed

for six years after cocaine was found in their luggage.

The transfer should take place within months.

Last year, these women, aged 20, were arrested at Lima airport.

Peruvian police said they were carrying 11 kilograms of cocaine,

his and in food packets, with ?1.5 million. Initially, they said they

had been coerced by an armed gang. At their trial in December, the

women pleaded guilty to drug smuggling offences under the given

reduced sentences of six years and eight months in prison. They were

later moved to this prison, where European prisoners are often kept

and where they complained of unsafe conditions. Melissa Reid has applied

to be transferred to a jail in Scotland. The Kayla McCullen had

been travelling on an Irish passport and now the Irish Department of

foreign affairs says the Peruvian authorities have approved her

transfer to Northern Ireland. Some paperwork and protocols have yet to

be completed in the UK. She's most likely to be moved to this prison

south Belfast. She has been in custody in Peru for a year since her

initial arrest. The process of PIP bringing her back here to complete

his sentence could still take several months.
