Several homes have been badly damaged in an early-morning

Fire officers say it may have started accidentally.

Fire crews were called at around 4:30am this morning to Wear one

building in the talents was already well alight. No one was hurt but

people had to move to safety quickly. They are now being helped

by family and friends knowing they had a narrow escape. Among those

rescued were only young family awoken by the warnings of a

neighbour. Everyone is safe and it looks like all the presents the

children received yesterday have been destroyed. The Fire Service

says several local crews were deployed but the ferocity of the

blaze has led to structural damage. I dread to think what happened

because a number have been left temporarily homeless. Credit has to

be given for those brave people coming out in the early hours of

Boxing Day and once again thank God there has been no fatalities.

Council officials have cordoned off the properties for free part of one

of may collapse. Two men have been

stabbed in west Belfast. The victims, who are in their 20s,

were attacked by a man on a footbridge close

to the Westlink at 7 Their injuries aren't believed

to be life-threatening. Just over 18 months ago,

50 workers at a County Tyrone cheese factory were given their redundancy

notices and a century of milk processing in the Clogher

Valley was about to end. But now Fivemiletown Creamery

is continuing the cheese making tradition, winning awards

and new customers. Our south west reporter

Julian Fowler has the story. In April 2014, the factory gates

were about to close for good. The business had suffered large losses

and the factory was sold. Staff were given their redundancy notices until

their jobs were at an end. But then Dale farm stepped in to carry on

producing the handmade speciality cheese saving the jobs of about half

the workforce. We had always regarded enviously the products and

brands that they had and we were delighted to be able to get involved

and rescue the business. Over the last year the company has been

winning back its customers and its cheeses have been winning awards. It

is now a very different atmosphere. The loss of the factory would have

been devastating. We are still making a Bee Gees, still winning

awards. On a regular basis, so it is a lot more positive than 18 months

ago. After a year when milk prices have been in the headlines premium

products like these offer higher returns. These products behind me

are more than twice the price of a powder. The aim is to grow sales and

the company has won a contract with the major European supermarket. This

business has become profitable once again and it is hoped the long

tradition of cheesemaking here will continue.
