exclusive investigation. That's all from BBC News at Six PM. Back with | :00:00. | 3:59:59
the The headlines on BBC Newsline: | :00:00. | :00:13.
The murder of the teenager Arlene Arkinson - the government | :00:14. | :00:17.
wants to stop the disclosure of secret documents relating | :00:18. | :00:20.
to the case. The number of breast cancer cases | :00:21. | :00:25.
has risen dramatically over the last 20 years and there's a warning | :00:26. | :00:28.
of many more to come. The cancer number is expected to | :00:29. | :00:43.
increase by about two thirds again, by about 65% in 20 years. | :00:44. | :00:46.

It's a tall order but after their opening-day draw with Wales, Ireland | :01:00. | :01:13.
are in Paris aiming for back-to-back victories in the French capital for | :01:14. | :01:15.
the first time in 89 years. And it's time to wrap up | :01:16. | :01:17.
for the start of mid-term and Valentine's Day - | :01:18. | :01:20.
a cold weekend is looming! First to a significant development | :01:21. | :01:25.
relating to the death of Arlene Arkinson, the schoolgirl | :01:26. | :01:27.
murdered over 20 years ago. The government is trying to stop top | :01:28. | :01:31.
secret documents linked to the case becoming public at the | :01:32. | :01:35.
inquest into her death. The 15-year-old from County Tyrone | :01:36. | :01:39.
was reported missing after she attended a disco | :01:40. | :01:41.
in County Donegal in 1994. She was last seen with the convicted | :01:42. | :01:46.
child killer Robert Howard, Howard was acquitted of her murder | :01:47. | :01:49.
but always remained A short time ago I asked our home | :01:50. | :01:56.
affairs correspondent, Vincent Kearney, how unusual | :01:57. | :02:00.
it was for the government to try to stop information on this | :02:01. | :02:03.
murder case being made public. This is quite extraordinary. This | :02:04. | :02:17.
story is about what are called Public Interest Immunity | :02:18. | :02:23.
certificates, normally granted in cases with concerns about national | :02:24. | :02:26.
security, to protect methods police used to gather intelligence or | :02:27. | :02:31.
informers, so they have been used in court cases during the Troubles but | :02:32. | :02:35.
as far as I know they have never been used in a case like this, they | :02:36. | :02:41.
killing of a schoolgirl, but I'm Northern Ireland office minister has | :02:42. | :02:45.
signed off on one of these certificates to be issued in | :02:46. | :02:50.
relation to document link to the death of Arlene Arc and son. She was | :02:51. | :02:55.
last seen in the company of child killer Robert Howard, who died in | :02:56. | :03:01.
prison last year. Do we know why this application has been made and | :03:02. | :03:06.
the information involved? We have no idea and it appears neither do the | :03:07. | :03:11.
lawyers for Arlene's family, who want to know what national-security | :03:12. | :03:16.
issues could possibly be at stake in the inquest into the telling of a | :03:17. | :03:22.
schoolgirl. The inquest is due to get next week. The coroner hearing | :03:23. | :03:28.
the inquest will have the final say on whether these documents are | :03:29. | :03:33.
released to the public. He will hear arguments from both sides on Tuesday | :03:34. | :03:37.
and then decide, but even then we won't get the full story because | :03:38. | :03:41.
much of that hearing will be behind closed doors, so the hearing itself | :03:42. | :03:48.
will be in secret, and even when the coroner reaches his decision he may | :03:49. | :03:53.
not be able to say much about it in public, whatever decision he | :03:54. | :03:58.
reaches. In a statement, the Northern Ireland Office said some | :03:59. | :04:05.
documents omitted to the court were subject to reductions, which the | :04:06. | :04:07.
police said would compromise their ability to bring rapists, murderers | :04:08. | :04:13.
and other serious criminals to justice in the future. | :04:14. | :04:15.
The number of women being treated for breast cancer has dramatically | :04:16. | :04:18.
increased over the last 20 years - figures from the Northern Ireland | :04:19. | :04:20.
That's being put down to us living longer, more screening | :04:21. | :04:24.
The doctor who led the research warns the health system needs | :04:25. | :04:28.
to prepare itself as those figures are set to climb further. | :04:29. | :04:32.
BBC Newsline has been speaking to a woman who has been diagnosed | :04:33. | :04:35.
with two different types of breast cancer - | :04:36. | :04:38.
one of which can go undiagnosed or be misdiagnosed. | :04:39. | :04:43.
Our health correspondent, Marie-Louise Connolly, | :04:44. | :04:45.
Next week 37-year-old Lynette McHendry is facing | :04:46. | :04:50.
She's in the unusual position of having invasive or regular cancer | :04:51. | :04:56.
in one breast while inflammatory cancer in the other. | :04:57. | :05:00.
The latter went undetected for over a month - | :05:01. | :05:03.
that's because no lump showed up on the mammogram. | :05:04. | :05:07.
I definitely think there needs to be more awareness. | :05:08. | :05:10.
In the medical profession, people need to be advised that this | :05:11. | :05:13.
The symptoms I had was a pain in my breast, | :05:14. | :05:26.
I had a breast that was maybe twice the normal size. | :05:27. | :05:31.
it goes very red and inflamed and the skin can go dimply, | :05:32. | :05:34.
so those are the symptoms and there is no lump. | :05:35. | :05:37.
Her call for greater awareness of the disease is timely. | :05:38. | :05:40.
New figures reveal an overall 53% increase in the number of breast | :05:41. | :05:45.
Those who collate the data warn that figure is set to rise further | :05:46. | :05:51.
and that the health service should prepare itself. | :05:52. | :05:55.
I think the services need to gear themselves up because we have done | :05:56. | :05:58.
some work looking at past trends and we see that in total the cancer | :05:59. | :06:02.
number is expected to increase by about two-thirds again, | :06:03. | :06:07.
After October and the annual breast cancer awareness campaign, | :06:08. | :06:15.
services have been under tremendous pressure as more women take up | :06:16. | :06:18.
We see a large number of women, nearly 3000 women came to the breast | :06:19. | :06:35.
clinic last year and most of those did not have breast cancer and could | :06:36. | :06:41.
be discharged quickly. The vast majority of women who are seen with | :06:42. | :06:46.
breast cancer are diagnosed and treated well within the 62 day | :06:47. | :06:48.
target set for the hospital. According to Lynette, | :06:49. | :06:50.
the health service must plan for the expected increase | :06:51. | :06:52.
in cancer cases. And as she's experiencing, | :06:53. | :06:54.
timing is crucial. Four weeks ago today is when I was | :06:55. | :07:04.
diagnosed with the new lump in my right, which was the size of a pea. | :07:05. | :07:10.
Last week when I met my surgeon, he examined it and it is now the size | :07:11. | :07:14.
of a large grape. How do you feel about this? This new lump has grown | :07:15. | :07:20.
and because I know the aggressiveness of the other one, I | :07:21. | :07:24.
just want them off, I want surgery now. | :07:25. | :07:25.
Lynette says by sharing her private story she's hoping | :07:26. | :07:27.
The Assembly Commission says Sinn Fein Assembly Members did | :07:28. | :07:32.
nothing wrong when they claimed almost ?700,000 in expenses | :07:33. | :07:36.
for research from a company run by the party's finance managers. | :07:37. | :07:40.
The Assembly Commission has also cleared the party of wrongdoing | :07:41. | :07:43.
in paying office rent to three cultural societies. | :07:44. | :07:47.
The police examined allegations made in two BBC Spotlight programmes | :07:48. | :07:51.
Sinn Fein had denied doing anything wrong. | :07:52. | :07:55.
Here is our political correspondent, Stephen Walker. | :07:56. | :08:00.
The Spotlight programmes were broadcast in November 2014. | :08:01. | :08:04.
One of the BBC programmes reported that 36 Sinn Fein MLAs claimed | :08:05. | :08:08.
about ?700,000 in total through Stormont expenses to pay | :08:09. | :08:13.
Research Services Ireland over a ten-year period. | :08:14. | :08:18.
However, the programme-makers were not able to find any evidence | :08:19. | :08:21.
of research that had been carried out by RSI and one Sinn Fein MLA | :08:22. | :08:25.
was reported to have said they had never heard of the company | :08:26. | :08:29.
until they saw it on their annual expenses. | :08:30. | :08:33.
Jim Allister asked the Assembly Commission how much of the money | :08:34. | :08:36.
In response the commission said its review "confirmed that | :08:37. | :08:41.
payments for research services, as reported in the programme, | :08:42. | :08:45.
were made for admissible expenditure up to and including | :08:46. | :08:49.
As such, no recovery has been sought. | :08:50. | :09:02.
I was hoping there would be a serious effort to recover the | :09:03. | :09:10.
?700,000 of taxpayers money and non-that has happened, whether | :09:11. | :09:15.
because of logical inconvenience or not is a matter for speculation but | :09:16. | :09:19.
it is appalling that nothing has been done. -- the logical | :09:20. | :09:22.
inconvenience. Jim Allister also asked | :09:23. | :09:29.
about the disclosure that former DUP assembly speaker William Hay's | :09:30. | :09:32.
office claimed more than ?4000 The Assembly Commission said | :09:33. | :09:34.
"the judicial process is ongoing". Jim Allister also asked | :09:35. | :09:37.
about travel expenses. A former Sinn Fein MLA, Davy Hyland, | :09:38. | :09:39.
told Spotlight that a party expenses claim form for mileage, | :09:40. | :09:42.
amounting to almost ?5,000, The commission found the claim had | :09:43. | :09:44.
not been processed "and as such, It added that the PSNI had concluded | :09:45. | :09:48.
the matter should not be referred Spotlight also reported that | :09:49. | :09:53.
Sinn Fein had paid office rent to three cultural societies | :09:54. | :09:59.
even though the BBC could not establish what the societies | :10:00. | :10:02.
were or who was behind them. The Assembly Commission | :10:03. | :10:07.
said its review confirmed the money was for "admissible expenditure", | :10:08. | :10:13.
adding, "as such, no recovery A BBC spokesperson has said: | :10:14. | :10:16.
"We stand by our journalism. We believe the investigation | :10:17. | :10:25.
was of significant public interest." The Lord Chief Justice says | :10:26. | :10:29.
remaining legacy inquests can be dealt with within five years | :10:30. | :10:33.
if he gets the necessary funding. Sir Declan Morgan was speaking | :10:34. | :10:38.
after meeting families of some More than 50 stalled cases | :10:39. | :10:41.
were reviewed last month The Lord Chief Justice has proposed | :10:42. | :10:46.
setting up a special unit to deal with Troubles-related inquests | :10:47. | :10:52.
as he says the existing Coroners We need to establish a new Legacy | :10:53. | :11:14.
unit as a matter of urgency. By intention is to start listing cases | :11:15. | :11:17.
from September onwards that this will be predicated on the ability of | :11:18. | :11:24.
resource. If we are in a position to make progress on this long-standing | :11:25. | :11:28.
issue and if we do, it will provide a signal of hope to all victims and | :11:29. | :11:34.
survivors that the remaining issues involved in dealing with the past | :11:35. | :11:37.
can finally be resolved. Still to come... | :11:38. | :11:40.

A majority of Northern Ireland households are set to benefit | :11:44. | :11:49.
The Utility Regulator has welcomed a cut in tariffs of | :11:50. | :11:55.
Here's our business correspondent, Julian O'Neill. | :11:56. | :12:06.
Power Nite supplies around half a million houses, and a cut in Paris | :12:07. | :12:13.
will reduce average bills by about ?50,000 a year. The reason is | :12:14. | :12:22.
falling fuel prices, making prices cheaper. We're seeing a fall in | :12:23. | :12:29.
wholesale oil and gas prices and have captured the benefit of that. | :12:30. | :12:35.
Competition is fierce, customers shop around among six suppliers. | :12:36. | :12:39.
Power Nite is not the first to adjust prices recently that this is | :12:40. | :12:44.
one of the biggest decreases in the UK and Ireland. We are reassured by | :12:45. | :12:51.
the fact we still supply 67% of the market. We are one step ahead of the | :12:52. | :12:59.
competition with this cut. Business and farm customers will see | :13:00. | :13:02.
reductions as well but with prices set to rise later this year, the | :13:03. | :13:06.
next announcement could be different. | :13:07. | :13:08.
Julian is with me now to talk about news involving one | :13:09. | :13:10.
of our major retailing businesses, Chain Reaction Cycles in Ballyclare. | :13:11. | :13:13.
We are talking about a rags to riches story, from a small bike shop | :13:14. | :13:22.
in eight provincial town to worldwide sales online. It is | :13:23. | :13:27.
described as a merger, it looks like Chain Reaction Cycles will join | :13:28. | :13:32.
forces with its main British rival, to gather they would create sales | :13:33. | :13:39.
annually of about ?300 million across the world. They say that they | :13:40. | :13:45.
would complement each other, Chain Reaction Cycles specialising more in | :13:46. | :13:50.
mountain bikes, wiggle in road racing. It has to be approved by the | :13:51. | :13:57.
competition and market authorities so we may be months away from a | :13:58. | :13:59.
deal. It employs 450 people, and wiggle | :14:00. | :14:12.
employs those numbers as well. Nothing yet giving commitments about | :14:13. | :14:16.
employment jumpers so you imagine there would be uncertainty among the | :14:17. | :14:21.
workforces in the months to come. Chain Reaction Cycles described this | :14:22. | :14:26.
as an exciting new chapter in its history, a long way away from that | :14:27. | :14:33.
first sailed back in 1984 they bike chain for 11p. | :14:34. | :14:36.
Good news and bad news tonight for Northern Ireland fans hoping | :14:37. | :14:39.
to go to the Euros in France this summer. | :14:40. | :14:44.
Today was a big date for Republic fans as they discovered that their | :14:45. | :14:48.
applications were successful. An extra 437 tickets have been made | :14:49. | :14:52.
available for the opening match But as BBC Newsline's Mark Simpson | :14:53. | :14:55.
reports, Uefa are refusing to hand Northern Ireland's first | :14:56. | :14:59.
match will be crucial. The game in the south of France | :15:00. | :15:02.
is also the most controversial, with many loyal fans | :15:03. | :15:05.
missing out on tickets. After a wave of complaints, | :15:06. | :15:07.
an extra 800 were made available on Tuesday, then just | :15:08. | :15:10.
over 400 more today. No more tickets for the Poland game | :15:11. | :15:12.
in Nice or the other matches Never say never, we will carry on | :15:13. | :15:31.
talking to Uefa but at this point 1276 for the Poland game is a good | :15:32. | :15:37.
result. But you will keep squeezing Uefa headquarters? We will carry on | :15:38. | :15:42.
talking but I would not promise anything extra. | :15:43. | :15:44.
It's been hit and miss for a lot of fans this week - | :15:45. | :15:47.
including those on the DUP benches at Stormont who applied for tickets. | :15:48. | :15:51.
David Hilder Scott is. So did Stephen McCree. As did Michelle | :15:52. | :16:01.
Michael being, but Jim Wells didn't get his ticket, and neither did | :16:02. | :16:07.
William Humphrey. So is there now a split in the party? No tension, just | :16:08. | :16:13.
jealousy, but I wish all those supporters all the best, we need to | :16:14. | :16:17.
expand the support base for Northern Ireland. In total Northern Ireland | :16:18. | :16:25.
fans have about 30,000 tickets for the Euros in France. Many of those | :16:26. | :16:29.
without tickets will still go, they may not get into the matches that | :16:30. | :16:34.
they will probably get better weather than at home. | :16:35. | :16:35.
It's the same for Republic of Ireland fans. | :16:36. | :16:37.
They started finding out this afternoon about tickets. | :16:38. | :16:39.
Tens of thousands are going to be left diappointed, but it won't stop | :16:40. | :16:42.
The sentencing of the prominent republican Thomas "Slab" Murphy | :16:43. | :16:49.
for tax evasion will be on the same day as the Republic's election. | :16:50. | :16:53.
The alleged former IRA chief of staff, seen here in the cap, | :16:54. | :16:57.
was convicted of nine charges at the non-jury | :16:58. | :16:59.
The new date means that because of election restrictions, | :17:00. | :17:07.
any comment by Sinn Fein about the decision is unlikely | :17:08. | :17:10.
The police say local criminals, gangs and others, originally | :17:11. | :17:19.
from abroad, are supplying heroin in Northern Ireland. | :17:20. | :17:22.
While some people have told BBC Newsline they believe there's | :17:23. | :17:26.
a growing heroin problem, the police say there's no evidence | :17:27. | :17:28.
This is what a 25 pounds heroin hit looks like. A typical addict uses | :17:29. | :17:46.
two of these a day. Police estimate 1500 people here are taking the drug | :17:47. | :17:51.
and ten criminal gangs are supplying them. Of the small number who supply | :17:52. | :17:56.
heroin, they often work with gangs across the border and most of the | :17:57. | :18:02.
heroin that finds its way to our streets originates in the Irish | :18:03. | :18:08.
Republic. A combination of local criminals and some from abroad are | :18:09. | :18:13.
involved. There were various titles and tag names given to people around | :18:14. | :18:18.
these groups, there are foreign national criminal gangs involved in | :18:19. | :18:22.
heroin as in other criminality but the myth that that is all who is | :18:23. | :18:27.
involved is absolutely false, there are more than enough home-grown | :18:28. | :18:32.
individuals are involved, and our commitment is to tackle it. Some | :18:33. | :18:36.
organisations believe the heroin problem is getting worse. From a | :18:37. | :18:42.
starting point of a static user group we have seen an increase and a | :18:43. | :18:48.
new, younger user group coming through, people who might not have | :18:49. | :18:53.
become involved are now becoming involved with it. One pharmacist who | :18:54. | :18:59.
runs a needle exchange for drug users things heroin is a growing | :19:00. | :19:04.
problem. The needle exchange is a dizzy part of our service. My | :19:05. | :19:10.
experience is that it shows no signs of decreasing and in the last number | :19:11. | :19:14.
of years has pretty significantly increased. But the police say they | :19:15. | :19:21.
have no evidence to suggest that trend is a pod. In terms of an | :19:22. | :19:27.
escalating problem in Belfast, I don't think that is the case. | :19:28. | :19:31.
Figures over the years in terms of people using the drug in the drugs | :19:32. | :19:36.
we have seized in the last five or ten years it has pretty much | :19:37. | :19:41.
remained constant. In the past four months the police say they have | :19:42. | :19:45.
arrested dirty people suspect that of having or supplying the drug. -- | :19:46. | :19:48.
30 people. A County Down farmer says he had no | :19:49. | :19:51.
choice but to shoot several dogs involved in a hunt | :19:52. | :19:54.
to protect his sheep. The incident on Alan Sloane's land | :19:55. | :19:56.
is being investigated by the local council and the organisation | :19:57. | :19:59.
which represents huntsmen. This report from our agriculture | :20:00. | :20:01.
and environment correspondent, Conor Macauley, contains | :20:02. | :20:03.
images of the dead dogs These are the sheep that the hounds | :20:04. | :20:14.
hunted in the field. I have let them out that morning to clean the pen. | :20:15. | :20:17.
Alan Sloane shows me the pregnant ewes that were caught up | :20:18. | :20:19.
in the incident on his Rathfriland farm. | :20:20. | :20:21.
He heard the dogs baying and ran to get his gun. | :20:22. | :20:24.
By the time he reached the scene he says 15 sheep were cornered | :20:25. | :20:27.
in a field, a large dog making for them - | :20:28. | :20:29.
one of ten he says that had come onto his land. | :20:30. | :20:35.
There was a big black dog coming across here, heading into corner the | :20:36. | :20:40.
sheep and I shot him here. He says the dogs were part of a pack | :20:41. | :20:43.
out with a hunt Alan shot two more in them | :20:44. | :20:46.
in an adjacent field, where his ?1200 ram and some | :20:47. | :20:50.
pregnant horses were. He says he was well | :20:51. | :20:52.
within his rights. I had no option. It was let my stock | :20:53. | :21:04.
that hunted or should the dogs and the only option was to shoot the | :21:05. | :21:08.
dogs. It's the same with any farmer who has livestock in a field, they | :21:09. | :21:12.
have to look after their livelihood. Stag hunting has proven | :21:13. | :21:14.
controversial in the past, with complaints that the animals can | :21:15. | :21:16.
be chased through private property, to the point of exhaustion, | :21:17. | :21:19.
and claims that deer are being brought into an area to be | :21:20. | :21:21.
released and chased. Two of Alan Sloane's | :21:22. | :21:28.
ewes aborted their lambs He fears more of the pregnant | :21:29. | :21:31.
ones may do the same. He says his costs could run | :21:32. | :21:36.
to a four-figure sum, and he's going to | :21:37. | :21:39.
court to get it back. The countryside Alliance, which | :21:40. | :21:51.
represents the hunting fraternity, says investigating this incident but | :21:52. | :21:55.
because it is awaiting a report on that it cannot comment further. It | :21:56. | :22:01.
says it signed a memorandum of understanding with the Ulster | :22:02. | :22:04.
farmers unions about access to land for funds and this is the first | :22:05. | :22:07.
incident since that was signed. Now sport, and Ireland are in Paris | :22:08. | :22:10.
this weekend for their second match of this year's Six Nations | :22:11. | :22:13.
rugby championship. Yes, and Ireland coach Joe Schmidt | :22:14. | :22:15.
has an unbeaten record But this French side is playing | :22:16. | :22:29.
under a new coach promising a return to the old flamboyant | :22:30. | :22:34.
swagger in a city in need Paris is a city still coming to | :22:35. | :22:44.
terms with the terror attacks in November. The stadium was caught in | :22:45. | :22:53.
that horrific Freddie evening with an international football match | :22:54. | :22:58.
abandoned as loud explosions were heard in the stadium. The scars | :22:59. | :23:03.
remain but sport has been a unifying influence as the country recovered. | :23:04. | :23:09.
We have not forgotten what happens still it is the biggest place to | :23:10. | :23:14.
late something in France, it is a symbol where people can go and trust | :23:15. | :23:20.
security and still enjoy themselves, that is how French art, it happened | :23:21. | :23:25.
that we are showing the world we can smile still. With a six-day | :23:26. | :23:30.
turnaround after the draw with Wales, Ireland has bent limited time | :23:31. | :23:36.
on the training pitch. We major the stuff we did on the pitch would be | :23:37. | :23:41.
relevant and we haven't wasted any time, we knew it was a six-day | :23:42. | :23:45.
turnaround and used a time as best we can. It may be only week two of | :23:46. | :23:51.
the tournament but having dropped point against Wales, the result of | :23:52. | :23:56.
this game could define Ireland's championship. Crucially Joe Schmidt | :23:57. | :24:01.
has never lost to the French during his coaching tenure but the visitors | :24:02. | :24:06.
have found this a difficult race to come, in fact Ireland have not | :24:07. | :24:12.
achieved back-to-back victories in the French capital since the 1920s. | :24:13. | :24:16.
Ulster kick off shortly against Pro12 champions Glasgow - | :24:17. | :24:18.
there's live commentary over on Radio Ulster from 7pm. | :24:19. | :24:20.
In Gaelic football, Crossmaglen face Castlebar in an All-Ireland club | :24:21. | :24:23.
semifinal at Breffni Park tomorrow night. | :24:24. | :24:25.
The Armagh side are chasing a record-equalling seventh title | :24:26. | :24:34.
and Carrick and Dungannon fought out a 2-2 draw last night - | :24:35. | :24:37.
a result that keeps both clubs stuck in the relegation battle at the foot | :24:38. | :24:40.
A late Douglas Wilson volley rescued a point for the Swifts. | :24:41. | :24:45.
There are four other games tonight with full coverage on | :24:46. | :24:47.
Tomorrow sees the JBE League Cup final between Ards and the holders | :24:48. | :24:52.
Cliftonville looking to win a record fourth in a row. | :24:53. | :24:59.
It will be massive, there is no club in the Irish League that has | :25:00. | :25:07.
achieved that and all being well, we will be the first ones to do that, | :25:08. | :25:13.
so it is a massive incentive for our boys and for the club to be going | :25:14. | :25:18.
for something like that, it is partial. The achievement of getting | :25:19. | :25:23.
there has been wonderful, the players deserve credit and we hope | :25:24. | :25:30.
they can go out on Saturday and play with freedom and express themselves | :25:31. | :25:32.
and worked their socks off. Michael Dunlop will race | :25:33. | :25:33.
for the Hawk Racing He will again ride the BMW Superbike | :25:34. | :25:35.
on which he dominated the TT two years ago, which included | :25:36. | :25:41.
a Superbike double. And news just in on that ticket | :25:42. | :25:49.
front for the Euros, the FAI have just announced a number 832 tickets | :25:50. | :25:55.
for Republic of Ireland fans. The weather now. What ever you are up to | :25:56. | :26:02.
this weekend you will need to wrap up warmly, it will be cold and today | :26:03. | :26:08.
the cloud came in with rain in places, especially across eastern | :26:09. | :26:14.
counties and earlier we had snow on the hills, slushy deposits to low | :26:15. | :26:18.
levels and this was the scene on cave help. For anyone at that time | :26:19. | :26:26.
span stadium for the Ulster Glasgow match, it is cold so you will need | :26:27. | :26:29.
to wrap up warmly. Showers starting to ease away at their could be a few | :26:30. | :26:35.
in the first part of the maps. We have a breeze pushing those showers | :26:36. | :26:39.
north and west as we go through the first part of the night, still snow | :26:40. | :26:44.
on the hill is not low-level is a mix of rain and sleet and later in | :26:45. | :26:49.
the night as those showers use of, we could see temperatures close to | :26:50. | :26:54.
freezing and could get some icy patches around into tomorrow | :26:55. | :26:58.
morning. With those showers easing away as we go into the weekend, it | :26:59. | :27:04.
is looking drier, variable, often large amounts of cloud and we still | :27:05. | :27:10.
have a cold wind, so whether we have icy patches tomorrow morning or not, | :27:11. | :27:15.
it will feel utterly cold, a lot of cloud and it will feel cold if you | :27:16. | :27:19.
work on the East Coast, that breeze coming in from the east so a bitter | :27:20. | :27:23.
wind here. You might get the odd bright spell but more cloud than | :27:24. | :27:29.
sunshine, though at least it is drive but those temperatures | :27:30. | :27:33.
struggling around 5 degrees. Tomorrow night we could see some | :27:34. | :27:37.
more breaks in the cloud, we could see temperatures fall that it | :27:38. | :27:42.
lowered down to freezing or below, so some frost and a risk of ice on | :27:43. | :27:48.
Sunday morning, it will be a cold one, we still have that breeze which | :27:49. | :27:52.
swings around from the north-east, a better chance of some bright spells | :27:53. | :27:56.
but temperatures still around 5 degrees. | :27:57. | :28:07.
Our late summary is at 10:30pm tonight. You can see more stories on | :28:08. | :28:08. |
